The pizza is amazing. The calzone was amazing and so was the cake. There are no issues with the food. You will love it. I'm from the south and we know about southern hospitality. Well let me give you the short version on northern hospitality. My friends and I were in Albany and decided to go to Troy on a Friday afternoon. We saw this place had the best pizza and decided to give it try. The original diner only has about 4 tables and next to is their souvenir/cheese/meat shop. We mistakenly walked into this shop first and met Rocky. I think he's like the owner or originator of their sauce or something. We had a good 10 minute conversation (he's entertaining) and he tells us to walk a block down to their other location which has drinks and all and to tell them Rocky sent you. We did just that..... but they were packed and reservations were taken for the night. We walked back to see Rocky and told him the issue. He then walks us to original diner and tries to get us a table. They go Rocky, we have reservations all night. Rocky then tells us to just order your food and come back next door. This guy literally put a table in the middle of the souvenir shop, told us we could go purchase beers next door and just eat our food there. I could not have been more appreciative.
The sauce and dough are no joke! Catering available. Super cozy 2 table dine in area. Dude in the corner was making fresh pasta..... guy at the counter was super friendly and helpful... and everyone seems to be working together happily with respect. I feel like I just made a group of friends lol. 💓💓💓💓
DeFazio's has the best pizza and the nicest people. They have been a staple in Troy since 1951 and have delivered consistent quality over all these years. Definitely stop in for lunch or dinner if you get the chance. Do note that they don't sell by the slice and are cash only when you order in person. They do have online ordering as well and that'll accept credit cards.
Stopped by this afternoon traveling from massachusetts for a pizza and hangover cake. Staff told me 3 hr wait then the manager told me 15 minutes your pie will be ready. Great service and unbelievable pizza and cake. Keep up the great work
This is the best pizza I have found in the capital district! A few friends and I stopped by for lunch today - we had the eggplant Florentine and smoked mozzarella pizzas. They were generously topped with high quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. Clearly the two gentlemen cooking took pride in what they do and are great at it!! I also got the raspberry chicken antipasto to go for a family member who raved about it. Plus, I decided to get a tiramisu to go which turned out to be the most delicious tiramisu I’ve ever eaten…and I’ve eaten a lot!!! I’m glad I didn’t eat it there or I would have bought the whole case of it! And finally, the woman who was working the counter was so wonderful, friendly and helpful - she made the experience that much better! A MUST TRY if you haven’t already🍕
First of all, the owners and staff treated us like welcome house guests. Second. Holy crap this is mind blowingly good. The gluten free crust is insane, and very accounting for allergies. The Margherita pizza is top level. Maybe best I've ever had. The plain cheese pie I think is the best in the capital region. Don't miss out on the deserts too, the hangover cake is almost a reason to come on its own. Outside dining is really nice in an unexpected way. I'd love to kill a bottle of red with this pizza next time
Pro: local owner 3rd generation, fresh ingredients, friendly staff, mom and shop feel, if you call in the morning they can cater to your vegetarian and vegan needs. Con: I didn't order the Stromboli [yet] Recommendation: Slowly update while retaining history and heritage, and keep up the good work!
I grew up in NYC and this place has my stamp of approval of a GREAT place to get pizza. Well done!
I was abit worried when I arrived at this location. From the outside, it looked like a dive. Two outdoor tables and maybe six indoor ones. We dined indoors. After placing our order, we noticed the booming takeout business occurring beside us. On-line reviews had neen favorable but still I was dubious. Well, that is until the pizza arrived. Holy smokes! Gotta be in my top two favorite pizzas..... EVER. *Side note: this place accepts only cash. So stop at an ATM and go to this restaurant.
We stumbled on this delicious pizza place and absolutely loved the pizza that we ordered. The crust was tasty and everything on it was just delicious. Two thumbs up!
Not an eat in venue but the pizza was some of the best I had in the capitol district, absolutely amazing and would definitely recommend. The fresh pasta is incredible as well as the sauces, slightly on the pricey side but it's fresh and home made and absolutely delicious.
We have been going to DeFazio’s for 17 years. They never disappoint. The pizza crust is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The cheese is top quality, never rubbery or salty. Always generous, not skimpy. We are big fans of their eggplant, on a pizza or a catered tray of eggplant parm. When the kids took over from their dad, they maintained the quality and service and expanded and modernized the business. Kudos.
Pizza is excellent with high quality cheese pepperoni, mushrooms and a unique homemade sauce that's both well seasoned and still tastes fresh. The base cheese pizza is already very well seasoned so I recommend going easy on the salty toppings. Almost no indoor seating so plan to take it to go or wait for the seasonal outdoor seating to open
If you are looking for top of the line wood fired pizza, where the dough is beautifully crafted to have a wonderful crisp crust and fluffy dough. This is it! I ordered a pepperoni and cheese with fresh garlic and honestly was very impressed. This is by far on my top 3 best pizzas I have ever had. The flavors were well balanced and I can tell by the mozzarella, the pepperoni selection that they take this craft seriously. The young man who waited on us was very polite and full of energy. The hustling and bustling in this tiny building absolutely blew my mind. I appreciated the old and most likely original seating and decoration in this place but we were there for the pizza. Hangover cake is definitely a must and seriously have it on a hangover, there's plenty of alcohol in there to skip the morning beer to recover. I will definitely return and look forward to my next visit. If you go to dine in, make a reservation ahead of time! Enjoy! 👌
Been to this location twice now. Each time I had the cheese pizza. Cash only and does not sell slices. No problem, just be aware of that. The pie was really good. The cheese and sauce had a really nice taste that can't be found elsewhere in the region. Nice staff and the place was pretty clean. Worth stopping by for a pizza. Treat yourself.
Been waiting two years to try their pizza... DONT WAIT.. TRUST ME . ITS THE ABSOLUTE BEST PIZZA IVE EVER HAD... I got the LG peppers onion n mushroom. I'm TRULY ADDICTED NOW.. Id never get pizza from anywhere else..
Grabbed a pepperoni pizza on their gluten free crust. Proportions of everything was balanced— ratio of sauce to cheese to crust. As delicious as I remember in my pre-Celiac diagnosis days. Great gluten free crusts are hard to come by. De Fazio’s was good and closer to a pan-style crust than hand-tossed. Very happy with it and did not get sick afterward!
Update: I finally got around to getting back here and why it took me so long is unknown to me bc the food is incredible..well the lemon cookies & vegan pizza are show stoppers, next time I'll have to add a pasta dish to the mix! But for this time around I went with the Vegan Florentine Pie. It's topped with Imposter's Seitan Pepperoni, Vegan Mozzarella, Sautéed Spinach, Tomato Sauce, homemade vegan Parm cheese and will definitely be ordered again. I'm stoked that I have De Fazio's as a local pizza spot, and I'll be back much sooner next time! Oh, and get the cookies, you won't be let down. 1st trip: Okay so I took the reviews about the vegan options here seriously, and I'm so glad that I did!The Vegan Supreme Pizza is incredible and I'm ready to try more of their menu! I also took advice to get the Lemon Ricotta Gennettes, and it is honestly legit - and trust me when I say that I KNOW these cookies.. I'm happy to say that I finally found a pizza place that makes me want to come back for more!
Its and old school spot with great pizza and great service. While im giving this review im not gonna lie when i opened the box i thought wow this pizza is thick. However when you bite into it youll see how light and airy yet crispy at the same time the pizza is. Its simply great pizza but the higjlight is no doubt the sauce! A slight tang and doesnt let the cheese take over like most places do. I live all the way in goshen and will be back multiple times just for this pie! Thanks guys This spot has my U.S Army Veteran seal of approval 🫡 🇺🇸
Came here during our stay in Albany. We were really craving pizza but finding gluten-free pizza in general is a hassle, especially GOOD GF pizza. Coming from NYC, our expectations weren't very high but, we were absolutely blown away by the GF pizza. It was fluffy, crust was crunchy, the tomato sauce was amazing. Staff is extremely friendly, they make you feel at home. They have seating outside if you'd like to eat there. We'll definitely be stopping by again when we're in the area. Great experience and the taste is unique. We loved it.
So excited to have our whole family gathered to enjoy your opening weekend. Thanks to Brendan for helping set it up and for our great wine selections. Maggie did a wonderful job with all 3 generations and was a pleasure to work with! We had a great selection of appetizers and 5 different types of pizzas. We all wish you great success at your beautiful new location! We look forward to returning.
Everyone kept telling me to try DeFazio's Pizzeria because my boys are pizza monsters, and we haven't had our socks knocked off yet since moving to the area. I didn't have any prior knowledge of the place, and we just walked in, not knowing it was completely booked up with reservations. They were still incredibly kind, and made my kids a pizza anyway for us to take home. It only took about 15 mins, and the guy up front was nice enough to even bring it out to our car. We all agreed (even the 6 year old with the bougie palate) that it was the best pizza we have had so far in the capital district. I highly recommend! We also grabbed some cookies, and they were also immediately devoured.
My fiancé loves watching bar stool pizza reviews. He wanted to try the pizza, see what I could think about it since I’m from down state. I have to say I was not disappointed. From the old time feeling of pizza parlor when I was a kid, just brought me back being here. They have sitting inside or out in the back. It was such a nice fall day we decided to go to the back. The young lady that helped us with our sitting was so friendly and welcoming. We ordered the 16” cheese pie and I wanted to try the chicken parmigiana meatballs. They were both excellent, the crust was crisp yet had a chewiness to it. The sauce was seasoned, slightly sweet and well balanced. The cheese was creamy and delicious, topped with herbs. Fantastic wood fire pizza. The chicken parmigiana meatballs were exactly what they were, chicken parmigiana as a meatball, covered in fresh sauce and mozzarella cheese. They give you oregano, cheese and crushed pepper on the table but it didn’t need it, it was cooked to perfection. The owner came out to check on all of the customers, we got talking and he was so pleasant and charming. He got us to order a piece of his wife’s hangover cake. I am not a cake person, well I wasn’t until I had this one. It’s a must try. All I can say is if you like old school atmosphere, delicious Italian food and wonderful staff, come check this place out.
Been meaning to stop here for quite some time. Today was the day, and it didn't disappoint! Staff was super friendly and welcoming, answering all my geeky questions and letting me take pics. Super cool, family run place. Pizza is great! Will definitely be back, and will take home some fresh pasta as well.
So incredibly tasty, flavor was through the roof. The cheese was spectacular. I can't wait to try some of the speciality pizzas.
Recommended by a friend weeks ago, then happened to be in town the day after the barstool visit and review, so they were slammed. Despite this and the hot and humid weather, the staff was super friendly. We had the cheese and sausage, peppers, and onion. Very tasty. My dad, who doesn’t like most pizza, even his own, said it was the best he has had in years. Also got a cannoli and the hangover cake to try. I got a tip to call Monday morning when they open and was able to put in an order for dinner easy peasy.
I’m passing through Albany and I was told by two people that this was the best pizza in the area, so I took their advice. I tried to call to order ahead, but the call didn’t go through. They were definitely busy when I got there and it was about a 35 minute wait, but I was determined to try it out and it was definitely worth the wait. The pizza is great, but the pepperoni is super greasy (to be expected- just not used to it since I usually don’t eat me, but I’m on vacation)- nothing a few paper towels didn’t fix. I normally don’t do Italian sausage (always stuck with regular sausage), but the girl that took my order said it’s a blend and it tasted really good, too. There are only two small tables inside, but they had outdoor seating in the back. Overall, I highly recommend.
DeFazio's makes a great pizza. Our party shared 3 small options. Cheese, Vegan, Broccoli and Spinach. All of them were delicious. What impressed us the most was how the plain cheese pizza was the star. Whatever they are doing with their sauce, cheese and crust is perfection. Nothing says to me that a pizza shop knows what it is doing when the plain slice blows you away. DeFazio's nailed it. Important as well is the vegan options. As is typical it gets a bit more expensive when you go for vegan options, but the Vegans in the group were so very happy, also noting they hadn't found a vegan pizza in the area as good as the one they had at DeFazio's. This place is super busy and actually has to limit their orders per time slot. So if you can, consider this for your future order and reserve it ahead of time. When we arrived a few minutes early, they asked us to wait outside (you can wait if your vehicle and actually choose that option online) and they came to us outside to hand deliver the fresh pizzas when they were ready. You can see they have put thought into the their systems to make the process as smooth as possible for their customers. And as always Enjoy!!
I remember enjoying Defazio’s pizza decades ago and happy to say they are still making an authentic Neapolitan pie. Coal fired — many classic & signature varieties. White clam pizza to Margarita. Other specialties include Chicken parmigiana, meatballs in a delicious red sauce. Plus cannoli’s filled to order. Elizabetha is incredible at running the pizzeria and showing great patience with all the customers. Online, on the phone and in house. We Loved it all. Ci è piaciuto tutto. Grazie Mille Ci Vediamo
Best Pizza in the world!! This place, not the modern new spot, but this tiny shop. If I could I would fly monthly from South Florida to eat here. To die for!!!
Delicious pie. Minimal grease, excellent sauce, great cheese to sauce ratio and almost no flop. The wood fired oven adds an awesome charcoaled char to the super crunchy crust. Crust is a little on the bland side but the firmness and crunchiness make up for it. Restaurant is old school Italian vibe too, really cool. I'd definitely come here again
The best Pizza I’ve ever had. Pizza is wood fired and thin crust which is my favorite. Has a little crunch to it. They have an eat in restaurant down the road which is one of my favorite places to eat. Service and atmosphere is delightful!!!
I visited this pizza place this winter as it had high reviews in the barstool app and it did not disappoint. We drove around 45 minutes from where we were staying to try this pizza and it was better than expected. The thickness, sauce and cheese on the pizza were great. Probably one of my favorite of this style of pizza. I loved the garlic bread as well. I was not a fan of the hangover cake but I definitely recommend trying the plain pie and garlic bread!
Would give it TEN stars if possible. We make a trip or two a year to Troy from Columbia County just to enjoy what is with out a doubt an OUTSTANDING pizza. Visited the Troy Farmers market on Columbus Day weekend followed by the traditional stop at Defazio's. The crust, sauce, cheese, toppings are all pure perfection. Melt in your mouth delicious. For an additional treat visit Rocco in the attached store for great soups, sauces etc. Well worth the lack of parking ..............RUN don't walk to 4 th Street in Troy for some of the best pizza in Capital District. UPDATE........made a special trip to Troy feeling the need for a Defazio Pizza, August 2025....this place NEVER dissapoints ! Same HIGH quality each and every visit. AWESOME ...worth the drive.
DeFazio’s Pizza in Troy, New York, is a true gem for pizza lovers. The food is absolutely amazing, deserving of a full five stars. Their wood-fired pizza is perfectly cooked with a crisp yet chewy crust that’s just the right balance. The fresh ingredients really make a difference—you can taste the quality in every bite. The service is also top-notch, earning another five stars. The staff are incredibly welcoming, treating everyone like family and making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. If you’re in Troy and craving exceptional pizza, DeFazio’s is the place to go!
The dining room in the front has 3 tables available. Call ahead for reservations. When we visited, it was too cold to sit outside, so I didn’t even see the courtyard seating. The meatballs were the best I have ever had. The pizza was fantastic! We tried the meat lovers and cheese pizzas. The chicken parm was also good, but I wouldn’t order it over the pizza. The Hangover cake is a little pricy, but delicious. Definitely worth a visit!
Sat in the De Fazio garden this afternoon and enjoyed a chicken and herb salad and a cheese pizza. The outdoor space is quaint with an herb garden in the rear. When we walked in, there was a wonderful aroma. I don't know what it was, but it smelled delicious. A young lady greeted us and walked us to the garden area. The service was excellent. This place has been in S. Troy for a long time, and you can tell they have an uncompromising quality. First they brought some garlic bread. My guess is that they use an infused olive oil. The garlic and herb flavor on this bread is delectable. The pizza came out first. What stood out for me are the ingredients. The cheese is high quality, not greasy and flavorful. Their pizza sauce is fresh, mild and delicious. It has a very slight sweetness, with fresh herbs. It is not spicy. Perfect for a bold red wine. The salad is fresh and has roasted red pepper, a medium provolone (a little sharp), cherry tomatoes, leafy greens, black olive and red onions. The chicken was slightly over-cooked, but seasoned nicely. I'd definitely get it again. I decided to get the hangover cake to go. This cake is so good. I think it made its way into my top 5 cakes. You must try it. Overall a great experience.
DeFazio’s has some of the best pizza in New York. The dough is airy and the crust is crispy, and charred perfectly. The sauce is so flavorful, and every pie tastes amazing. As for their dessert, definitely recommend the hangover cake. It’s so moist and melts in your mouth (picture taken after a bite or two😂). Just be prepared—getting a table or placing a takeout order isn’t easy. Make reservations a few days in advance, but it’s totally worth it
First time ordering and had heard great things. Definitely did not disappoint at all. The wait was a bit longer than the online ordering system suggested but when I called the team was super kind and understanding. Got my order out and to me super fast at that point and even threw in some ha government cakes for the extra wait. Will definitely order again and think the supervisor and driver on today are excellent.
The pizza is DELICIOUS! We've gotten a few different kinds from them and every single one is absolutely yummy. Definitely my go to for pizza in Troy. The pasta - I got the Fra Diavolo - was ok, not as good as the pizza though. The only complaint I would have is the wait. They give you time estimates but we usually end up waiting 15-30 minutes after the pick up time they give us, so I wish that they gave a little more accurate estimates. Great place and awesome people :)
Difazios a true staple of Troy, some of the best pizza around if not the best and good pasta options as well. Difazios is extremely busy so check to see if you can get food before you bank on it for a meal. No dining this is a pick up and delivery only situation. Pizza is well cooked and has a good crisp bottom with a generous portion of cheese and sauce. Had to bump them to 4 stars because there pasta dishes can be inconsistent and you dont always get the same taste as before aside from that jot much negative to say a great spot for a solid Italian take out choice.
We recently had a family outing at DeFazio’s new restaurant in Troy. Surprisingly we got parking spots close to their location and easily crossed the icy snow banks. Their new eatery is spacious and features 2 wood burning pizza ovens. We enjoyed a few glasses of smooth Nebbiolo, an excellent Little Italy cocktail and a very tasty Cutting Tiles double India pale ale. Our favorite evening’s dish was their pistachio / onion / mozzarella pizza with a drizzled honey accent. Their linguine with white clam sauce was serviceable, needing more garlic, sauce and clams. Similar comments were made regarding their linguine with meatballs. Based upon their drinks and pizza, a revisit could be in our future.
Good pizza and salad. Garlic toast & sauce were really good. Limited drink options. No alcohol but we were told that we could bring in our own alcohol with $5 charge. Creative.
Food is excellent- pizza- ravioli - hangover cake but to dine here is rough. Saw a few luxury brand cars pull up, start to park, then just drive away. The exterior used to define the epicenter of Little Italy. Dining is outside and down an alley to a backyard area with metal furniture and a mostly failed attempt at garden, al fresco ambience. Still, the server was pleasant but dine-in is not this place's jam tough big potential. Food is excellent and worth it. Check in at pizza spot not the store or alley to be seated.
I heard about De Fazio’s and their 8.2 Barstool rating from a friend so decided to swing by for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered 2 pizzas - 1 cheese & 1 fra diavolo. The sauce on the pizza was excellent…and the toppings were as well. But what makes this pizza different is their dough. Apparently they use a dough that is more like bread dough than traditional pizza dough and as a result, the crust is a bit softer and fluffier. The taste is very good but I tend to like a crust that is a bit crispier. Overall, it was very good and worth the trip.
Defazios has gone downhill in the pizza quality since they opened a second store. I don't know what happened, but the last 3-4 pizzas I've ordered have been way, way too heavy on the cheese and not like the Defazios I know and love at all! It pains me to see them do the same thing that every other pizza place in the area does and sell pizza that has so much cheese on it that it's basically just white with tiny spots of red. If you're a pizza lover like I am, you will agree that a Pizza with so much cheese that it's primarily white (instead of a healthy, diverse white/red mix, like the surface of mars) is borderline Not Pizza, but hopefully they turn things around before they start selling Not Pizza instead of pizza.
Its been a while since I had Defazios. They make rich pizza but need more ovens and better time accuracy. Wqs told to come pick the pizza up at 7:30. I arrived at 7:35 and waited another 40 mins before my pizza was actually ready. No complimentary drink for having to wait. Not even a 10% discount. No bueno And they skimmed me on broccoli come on now what is this.
I used to get pizza from this place 2 times a week every week from 2015-2018. It was usually perfect and the best pizza I ever had in my life. I haven't had their pizza since covid started so it's been a while. I see the old surly man who ran the joint is gone. He always gave me back my change by putting it on the table and walking away with a scowl even though I looked at him with my hand extended. The pizza was that good I kept coming back. It was a soup nazi/Seinfeld type situation. So today I decided to get one of my favorites from defazios delivered the can't miss fra diavlo pizza. I just got it and realized my first mistake I ate a slice without putting it into the toaster oven. Even in their peak their pizza was mediocre at room temp, but amazing when piping hot. So after having a piping hot 2nd slice, I liked the toppings much better really good...however they really do not make the crust like they used to. It's very thin and spongy...I even question if it's homemade. If you microwave it the crust can't even support the toppings that's how thin and spongy it is. It is a soft floppy mess I remember this place taking pride in making everything from scratch...there is no way this pizza is being cooked in an old school oven and is homemade with this texture. It has to be some cheap poor quality pre-made mixture. It had black char all over yet has the texture of a sponge. If defazios can respond, how is the crust so flimsy thin and spongy?
Had the capriccio pizza and the first thing we noticed was that the toppings were lacking. You can see on the pic that one slice had prosciutto, the other one didn't, and that's how the whole pizza was. Same with the mushrooms, pieces of them could be easily counted. Wait was long, and if the pizza was an amazing experience, I would say, worth the wait. Nothing really exceptional about it, or maybe we just got the wrong pizza. The italian hangover cake---ok cake. Reminds me of a Jamaican Rum Cake, and have had similar better cakes in the Miami area. Didn't live up to the hype of this place serving amazing pizzas.
Honestly I don't know how I feel about this one. Went here because Dave Portnoy gave it an 8.2. Turned out to be more of a high 6 - low 7. Pizza dough was a bit raw in the thick crust. Toooo cheesy and less sauce. Edges were burnt so couldn't eat some slices till the end, and on top of all that it was really greasy to the point we had to eat it with a knife and fork because it was unpickable. After leaving it to cool down a bit, it did get better but still a bit disappointing. Wouldn't say this is the best pizza in Albany at all. On top of all this the outdoor seating just wasn't it. Sooo many bugs and flies coming to ur food while eating and the Parmesan on the table tasted funky :(
I think my experience may have just been a bad day and I will give it another try. My pizza was cooked more than i'd like. They were really busy and I had to order an hour ahead. Its a cool shop and local institution. My pizza did not really look like the photos. It tasted a bit bitter and slightly burnt.
I wanted to like it, but the poor service left a bad taste in my mouth. I ordered a couple hours ahead for pick up. I showed up at the appointed time and it wasn’t ready and I waited an additional 15 minutes for it. A simple, “I see it was supposed to be ready but I’m sorry to keep you waiting” would have completely neutralized the mistake they clearly made by not starting the order on time. They just said, “it will be 2-5 minutes,” which turned out not to be true.
Server was good however two meals took extremely long to be served. One they told us about but the other they forgot to put in until we asked about it. The server did not charge us for a couple drinks because of the error. The food was nothing special, the original location was much better. I would not return.
DeFazio’s food is consistently delicious, and living nearby has always made it a go to spot for me. Unfortunately, the service has been disappointing the past few times I’ve ordered. Most recently, I placed an order for 4:15. When I arrived at 4:20, I was told it would be another 10 minutes, so I stepped out and came back about 20 minutes later. At that point, part of my order had been forgotten and the rest still wasn’t ready. The woman working was apologetic, which I appreciated, but the experience was frustrating. I’ve been a loyal customer for years and truly love the food, but with the recent service issues, I may need to pause ordering for now. I hope things improve because this place has always been a favorite.
Visit - 1st Visit in Troy and in this restaurant. Positives - Historic and Family owned restaurant, Recommendation from Hillary Clinton, Awards on the wall, Possibly known for its good food in past years. Scope for Improvements - Limited Parking, Good for pickup, Seating arrangements at back - Casual dining, Restroom is through the register. I had a great expectation from this place but the food was very average, not a noteworthy. Lack of authenticity of the cuisine, taste and flavor. Not a good customer service. Italian homemade restaurants are known for its authentic food and taste. I think the management/owner needs to work on the customer service and bringing back the lost quality and taste/flavor of the food. I’m rating them Average with expectation for improvements. Good luck.
Good pizza, awful service. Used to be my favorite pizza place. I ordered delivery once and had a hard time getting my pizza. It took 3 calls and a manager to get the delivery driver to my place, which is 3 minutes away. Next time I tried to order delivery that manager had left a note saying not to deliver to my address. Anyone else at my apartment can order delivery from them fine, like I said its a 3 minute drive. Dude took it personally that his delivery driver tried to nab my pizza and I wouldn't let it slide. Terrible customer service
After the hour wait, This is what they delivered to me. Just disappointed and a huge inconvenience to drive and pick up a new one. Once there, the pizza was waiting for me on the counter. The employee showed me my new pizza and said "hope you enjoy it" no apologies. No compensation. Nothing but a new non burnt semi warm pizza
Nothing special to see here or eat here. Not sure where these 5 star reviews are coming from. The pizza was pretty doughy and so was the crust. I’ve had a boat load of pizza and this was a 2 star at best. It’s not even like they were busy when I had the pizza and they overlooked something. There was no excuse for the lame pizzas. There’s absolutely zero reason for me to return to this joint. Spend your $ elsewhere.
Pizza was all flop and no crisp. Seemed very rushed. Burnt but undercooked. I think this place is all HYPE! People need to be honest 🙄, looking at other people pictures, it looks Burnt and under cooked too. The people working there were not very professional. Full review on u tube. @KINNIKI420
This is our third time ordering from them. Each time has been worse than the last and will no longer be ordering here. The first time they made my gluten free pizza as a regular and had to be remade. The second time the food was cold and 45 minutes late when we went to pick up. And now the third time we placed our order at 430 and didn’t get it till 805 and it was ice cold.
Ordered DeFazio’s for a pick up today. You have to order early, sometimes the day before. So called first thing for a 4pm pick up. The girl takes the order but doesn’t ask my name, so I asked if she needed my name for the order and she said “oh yeah.” Didn’t think much of it at the time. I drive all the way out there to pick up all the food and get told “no we don’t have your order.” And they just stand there and stare at me like I am in the wrong. No apology, no “give us some time we will get it done for you.” NOTHING! They offered no remorse, no “let’s make this right.” It was the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
Very disappointing review, stopped in to order 2 pizzas for lunch , drove home and we started eating the pizza , my wife found a hair that was baked inside the dough , i called them immediately and explained the situation, he said I don't understand how that would have happened, not really offering a solution at first , he finally said we can make you another pizza and make sure you bring your pizza in , drive back to defazios , first thing gentleman at the counter says to me is "The thing is we don't have anyone here with long hair " then he open the box and had no argument when he also seen the hair baked inside the pizza dough , he brought the pizza to the owner , where he rolled his eyes took the pizza walked past me into another room never saying one thing to his customer , they handed me a new pizza and that was it , very disappointed with the way the defazios handle the customer service , as if there's no possible way that it was their fault, and it was the customer lying, but luckily for the pictures, the proof is in the dough .
Let me start by saying we love DeFazio’s. We order from them frequently and they are usually always on point. However, the last time we ordered we got all the way home and before I even opened my pizza box I could smell something was off. Both pizza boxes smelt EXTREMELY musty. Like they were kept in a wet basement. When we tried to eat the pizza they tasted the same way as they smelt. Like a wet, moldy basement. We physically could not eat the pizzas without gagging. We called right away to tell them what happened and to maybe let them know to not continue to use the boxes but were met with nothing. They didn’t offer to make us new pizzas. They didn’t offer a refund. And when we asked to speak with a manager they simply said there wasn’t one working and to call back the next day. For the amount of money we spent on two pizzas we were extremely disappointed in the customer service we were provided. Especially since we couldn’t even eat any of the pizza.
I like the pizza here, but they have horrific food safety standards. As I was waiting for my order, I noticed several people making the crusts weren’t wearing hats or hairnets. And practically no one was wearing gloves as they’re preparing the pizzas and toppings. I literally watched one of the guys rub his nose with his bare hands and then go back to preparing toppings without gloves OR washing his hands. Then, the cashier, who was answering calls and handling cash, kept going to the back and working on toppings without washing her hands. Don’t be surprised if you find hair in your pizza. Buon appetito!
