The best around!
The pizza (food overall) and wine selection is just as good (if not better) than NYC! Don't sleep on this restaurant!
Excellent food, the service the atmosphere, the pacing of the food - they don't rush your appetizers with your main dish. Loved it!
This food is amazing. So grateful to have this restaurant in our city. When I want something “stand out” this is my go to. Can’t order wrong.
O Baby! and Broccoli Bob Pizzas are personal favorites. Thin, crispy, and delicious.
Great service and friendly staff. Pizza was fantastic!
Amazing service and food. Woody, our server, was awesome!!
Good stiff drinks and great pizza in the upstairs tavern
Great to have vegan items on the menu.
Great atmosphere. Delicious pizza
Nice Italian with candle lit rustic wood tables
Great place in downtown Troy!love it!!
Love their pizza!
Expensive but worth it
This place makes dream food.
Excellent all around. Good size thin crust pizzas for one or two depending on your appetite. Super fresh and homemade sauce and Al Dente pasta, great taste. Best to go early to avoid crowds! A winner!
Went here with a date this past Friday night. I had never been inside the restaurant before and was immediately fascinated with it's uniqueness...the restaurant itself actually connects to multiple establishments, including Little Pecks, a wine bar, a garden/patio area, and more. Rather than sitting across from each other, we were seated side by side up against a window that looked into the kitchen. You could watch the chef cook, as you waited for your food. Our server, Clare, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. After dinner, she encouraged us to wander around the building and make ourselves at home. You could tell that our server was proud to work here and viewed her teammates as family. I had the caprese salad and the Focaccia bread. The caprese salad was the best I have ever had. My date ordered spaghetti & meatballs and enjoyed every minute of it. I really cannot say enough good things about this establishment. If you are looking for a unique dining experience, I highly recommend checking this place out. Oh, and since you asked, the date went really well!
So good! We got garlic knots and two pizzas and it was the right amount for four adults. I highly recommend the margarita pizza. The atmosphere was very trendy and cool. Service was excellent
Two words describe this place perfectly: hidden gem. It is hands down the best restaurant in the capital region. They also have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options which are great. Lovely service and ambiance. All organic wine menu. this place knows what they are doing. Five star experience and delicious Italian cooking.
Delicious food, ingredients are locally sourced, pastas are hand made, a beautiful interior, and the staff are all just so friendly, attentive, and helpful. Definitely not like any other place in Troy ! Highly recommend.
So tonight Ed and I was giving the recommendation to try Donna’s by a Troy Police Sergeant, we had the pleasure of having Liz wait on us and she was the sweetest ever , was very helpful with suggestions, we will definitely be back , oh and the Orange wine perfect on this hot day , Thank you Liz
Such a great place. Both pizzas we got were excellent...the crust was delicious. We sat outside and watched the sun set at the end of Broadway = fantastic. Inside looked nice, too.
Take out tonight from Donna’s and they did not disappoint!! Chicken parm, rigatoni with vodka sauce and broccoli rabe, and the antipasto......unbelievable! Everything was perfect!! The order fed 3 of us with leftovers!!! The Italian store inside is awesome!!! So good! I wish we could more than 5 stars!
Stopped here for pizza and Cocktails with a group of friends. The pizza was delicious! I enjoy a good rum and they have a few. I enjoyed a Smith and Cross on the rocks.
We stopped in for dinner while in the area. The food and service were outstanding. Very quaint atmosphere. Had the children parmigiana and house salad. Excellent. Would go back without hesitation
You guys make delicious food, but the problem is you were never open during the prime times when you should be as a business which tells me you probably won’t be around long, which is unfortunate. I hope you pass your recipes on to somebody else that’s it and that’s all
Absolutely loved loved loved this place. Amazing food, better people, ridiculously great drinks. It's a don't miss. Sit at the chef's counter if you can!!
Ate outside great service had gluten free BadGurl pizza with no cheese and brocc pizza . With A chilled red wine and hard cider.
This is the best and safest gluten free pizza I have come across in the capitol region. I am only sad because they are opened such a small amount of the week
Had the vodka penne, it was hearty and filling without being too much. Just what I needed. If you haven't been to the bar above Donna's, I highly recommend it!
Serving sizes here are large and the food is delicious. The garlic knots and vegan chicken parmesan are highly recommended.
All pizzas are thin and delicious. Great salads. We've been here many times and have been impressed every time.
Food was great and staff was super nice - we'll be back! Met the Chef - Jake - super friendly and very professional!
Honestly great pizza and a solid cocktail program. The wine selection is absolutely bonkers.
We rented the upstairs dining room for my partner's birthday - 20 people. Maeve was great helping plan (and putting up with our shifting guest list and dietary needs), Chef Jake put together an excellent tasting menu and executed it so well. Service was great, the space was perfect for the party...the night could not have gone better!
Donna’s Restaurant was a truly surprising gem to find in downtown Troy. Possibly some of the most authentic Italian food in the states. The menu isn’t enormous but every dish was delicious. The Fusilli with Italian Sausage was amazing and the Whole Wheat Cavatelli with truffles was mouthwatering. And while a small part of me was sad they didn’t have a tiramisu, the Panna Cotta was ridiculously good.
BEST CHICKEN PARM I’ve had since moving to New York. 🐓🍝 Got most of it off my Favorite shirt in the bathroom. If you haven’t checked out upstairs you Really should! It’s got a private wainscoted Large Family Room with loooooong table for “large” family and friends get togethers. 👩👩👧👦👨👨👧👦👨👩👦👦👨👩👧👧👨👨👧👧👩👩👧👧👩👩👦👦 (about this <- many) There is a separate large room just off the bar with 2 living room styled spaces. Each with 2 Long tufted couches, two arms chairs and a coffee table. 💺🛋️🪑 My fiancé and I read a couple of books on the tufted couches and finished our drinks. 🥂📚 This place also turns into Little Pecks Brunch spot in the mornings. Our Favorite brunch spot to play board Games at. You should really check it out.
Last night my wife and I had the most incredible time at Donna’s! Everything was so on point. The flavors in each of our dishes were so memorable we were blown away. The crab cakes were the best we’d ever tasted. The pastas were that perfect al dente level of firmness with unique tastes, and the flourless cake was so good I wanted to order another piece. And after our meal we went next door to Lucas confectionary which is all part of the same umbrella and had a great drink and enjoyed the DJ they had playing. The atmosphere was the best and the staff was super attentive. That’s our spot now. Nothing like it.
It was truly a culinary experience. The leek pizza with the bacon was soo delicious. Fried spicy ribs... the sauce was amazing. The chicken st Croix dish... just filled my soul. I haven't been this happy with a dining experience in along time. Squash ravioli with the brown butter OMG! The atmosphere was very intimate and the waitstaff was friendly, attentive and very welcoming. My new favorite place hands down!! Run to Donna's you won't be disappointed.
I travel a lot and eat Italian a lot. This place has the classic East Coast Italian American menu. Everything was near perfect, the pizza was great, chicken Parm was excellent, sauce was really flavorful. Best of all, ordered a bottle of wine we weren't thrilled with, they offered to let us try done other options, literally opened two bottles just for us to taste, then sold us a bottle of the one that we liked and didn't charge us for the first bottle. It was delicious. That's just proper service, so friendly, so cool about it. Highly recommended.
Had a fantastic dinner before a concert at Troy savings bank music hall. Sat in corner overlooking chefs cooking which was fantastic. Started with olives. Great wine list. A bit pricey but fair. We had a delicious sangiovese from umbria that complemented husband s mushroom risotto and my short ribs. Heaven. Finished with a panna cotta with butterscotch sauce and a big red recommended by our server. A Great overall dining experience.
First time visit turn into a wonderful experience. The chicken parm was one of the best I’ve ever had. The chicken was just the right consistency and topped some al dente spaghetti with a fabulous sauce. The pizzas were unique with some original toppings. And finishing with the upside down pineapple came made the meal complete. I highly recommend the resultant as the ambiance, service and the meals were superb.
Donna’s Italian added to my fave list 🤩🤩 Pretty good drink menu and bar seat, but there’s a room for improvement. Food menu is great especially pizza 🍕😍😍🍕🤤🤤 Pizza’s highly recommended, highly. I loved the one i got 🤤🤤🤤 The interior design is pretty simple, comfy and cool. I like how you can seat at the bar get your first drink and wait for your food/pizza and move on other rooms and seat on couch 🛋 and enjoy your drink and food. I will stop by soon and highly recommend this place. more info will added later.
Stopped by for a bite on a quick trip to the area. I enjoyed the salad and the pizza and my friends both said they loved the drinks they got.
My family and I LOVE coming to Donnas. The food and staff are excellent! I have had a couple of the pasta dishes, which are true and authentic to Italian style dishes, but the pizza will always keep me coming back! It’s the best Italian style pizza you can find in Troy. Plus, on Saturdays- they have a special you can’t beat- it’s one salad of your choice, a pizza and a bottle of red, white or bubbly wine for $50! Always a really enjoyable time dining here😁
Outstanding restaurant. Authentic flavorful Italian cuisine. Very quick friendly service too. Loved the meatballs and red sauce!
Very good food! Came down from Saratoga to try it, well worth the drive. We ordered a cheese pizza and chicken parm dinner. Everything was fresh and quick. Some of the best Italian I’ve ever had.
Food was great! Pizza was delicious as was the Chicken Parmesan. The portion of the Chicken Parm was enormous. I have a good appetite and there was no way I could finish it. Trust me, I wanted to. The cool thing was we got to sit where we could see into the kitchen where most dishes were prepared. Squeaky clean and staffed by professionals for sure.
Best chicken parm I have had since moving to the area! The chicken was perfectly cooked and not over done the breading was golden and delicious. The spaghetti was cooked al dente with a tomato sauce made to the perfect consistency (not watery or oily ) and the rosemary foccacia bread was the best in house made garlic bread I have found ❤️ 10/10 highly recommend! Will order again soon!!

Best pizza in the capital region hands down, no competition. I’m honestly dreaming about my next opportunity to get a pie. I tried the Badgirl-delicious and very spicy, I personally couldn’t handle the chilies but for others I’m sure it won’t be a problem. The margarita was phenomenal, the dough is delicious and the sauce succulent. The service is incredibly gracious, kind, and welcoming. Counting down the days until my next visit.
Came from Brooklyn for a short visit and were told we MUST eat at Donna’s and we’re so glad we did. Food was excellent and service was fast and attentive! Highly, highly recommend.
We had our rehearsal dinner at Donnas in the private event space. Everyone enjoyed the pizza and drinks. I heard from several people that they loved the hot honey and now can’t have pizza without it. The private space is beautiful and is a wonderful space closed off from the rest of the upstairs to enjoy a private meal with family and friends. It would be great for a multitude of celebrations. The room fits up to 20 people. Would not hestitate to book another event
Friendly people and a pleasant vibe with traditional Italian fare plus pizzas and salads. There's lots of space upstairs where you can order from the bar and also patio space behind the dining area.
STELLAR. Really impressive food quality and taste. Found everything we ordered to be outstanding. The chicken piccata and tagliatelle were some of the better dishes we have had in quite some time. No pictures we ate it all too quick. Will be back.
Regular here … pizza is amazing! Had a glitch w online order and mealeos got it wrong!! The new Barista….Zander… and Jake in the kitchen… both went above and beyond to make sure all was well! Top notch!! They give a damn!! So refreshing as a side to my delicious take out!! Ty Donna’s!

Pizza was amazing I cant denied that. 1 star was removed. The bathroom needed a little cleaning. I would definitely go again. Good first date place.
Really great food and atmosphere, the fact that it is combined with other resturants is quite confusing, however.
Good was good. A bit expensive though.
Absolutely enjoyed sitting outside for a glass of wine on a warm evening last night. Our server Hannah was also very helpful. I’m vegan so I came here specifically for the seitan parm dish that I had before but they took it off the menu and now really only offer pizzas, some salads and 3 pasta dishes. 2 of which have eggs in it. None with red sauce. I had vegan pizza just the night before so I didn’t want that again, and thought the menu was very limited (I’m not saying make it a plant based restaurant) but the menu before felt like a few more options I could choose from. I’m so sad they got rid of their vegan garlic knots too. After a few trips to the kitchen (that was very kind of our server to check but always not a fun experience when you have ask 1000 questions and see what they can make you) They were able to make me a bucatini pasta with olive oil, chick peas and a little broccoli rabe. I was thankful they could at least make me a dish so my mom and I could eat together and we could enjoy the outdoor seating. I will try their vegan cheese on a pizza in the future, but am disappointed that there really aren’t that many options anymore for someone like me, and I really enjoyed this place before.
To be clear, wonderful people and genuinely nice and seemingly hard working. I say that because that is the crux of the slight bit of negativity I’d have for this restaurant. First the food, that gets 5 stars, it’s flavorful, generous and always fresh. I haven’t really experienced a bad dish yet. First time, party of 2 and second time, party of 6. All the food was spot on and hot. The service, ugh. I don’t like being critical and sound negative but I just don’t think they understand the service bit. I say it like that because it has to be acceptable by management for them to be this way. Therefore I’ll say that they’re not trained properly. Touch base, take the order, deliver food and then you’re on an island. No one to be found. They might be too busy to check back or refill your drink, it seems like they’re slightly understaffed. But not great service. The atmosphere fulfills the urban grunge, rip off the sheetrock and expose everything that hip. Unfortunately that’s the basis of design in the bathrooms too and it ain’t pretty. I’m hoping I didn’t discourage your trip to try this place. The negatives I’ve mentioned do not get in the way of having a very good meal and that what’s brought me back a second time. I’m sure I’ll be again.
The pizza was pretty good. I am not a big fan of the burnt bubbles, but I do understand how it is cooked.

The environment is fantastic, unfortunatally the pasta is not.
I REALLY wanted to like Donna’s. I’ve tried it a few times and as beautiful the dining area and how cute it is, the food didn’t do much for me. I’ve had their pizza (via delivery/take out) and it was pretty well done, a little too well done for my liking. Went yesterday for dinner/Sunset on Broadway. Ambiance was great, they have comfy chairs outside to sit in. Ordered the shrimp scampi and rigatoni and they were ok, but I have had better. You’re better off getting a bottle of wine rather than glasses because it adds up FAST. Service was good but unfortunately as the night progressed, it felt like our waiter had forgotten about us as we saw them chatting and recording videos outside with friends (which is totally fine, they work really hard and deserve breaks but we just needed some cheese and the check😂). The bill was around 150$ which to be transparent, I don’t think was fully worth it. In their defense it was extremely busy and I believe they may have been low on staff but this was my experience. I might try again for third times the charm but we’ll see.
Lovely vibe but had to wait 55 mins to get our veggie pizza. Would love to see more veg/vegan options, better prices and quicker service!
It's fine. Donna's was significantly more appealing as a pop up at Peck's. The revitalized version is just pizza and pasta. For takeout the pizza is a unique alternative to what you would get elsewhere. If you dine in, get the pasta. We waited nearly an hour and a half for 2 pizzas while dining in. Watched countless pasta dishes get served to the tables around us. Pizza was good when it finally arrived, but not worth the wait. Good vibe though, and friendly staff.
We liked the food and drinks, but they played jazz music.
I made a reservation a while ago for a table for 2. We were given a seat in front of the cooking station & were told no tables were available, even though there were a couple with no one sitting there yet. Limited menu, ordered pizza. My husband’s pizza was somewhat oily & spicy, my margarita pizza was good. I never heard of the wines on the menu & when I asked the waitress about them, she knew nothing about the taste. She was friendly but couldn’t answer questions about wine. Limited choices for wine & beer. Nice atmosphere, but we do not plan to return.
Went here twice within this month. First time just got a pizza and a salad. The only improvement that time was that the pizza should have come to us at a hotter temperature. Second time visiting, we ordered the bucatini and ravioli pastas and the il trio pizza. The pizza was undercooked/limp at the center. When we picked up a slice, the cheese slid right off😂 The flavor of the pizza was overpowered with pepperoni, was not a trio, was just a solo. The ravioli was delicious but not filling and was pricey for a dish that lacked a protein.
We had a nice night eating outside at Donna's. Food was good. I had the RPI sandwich which was roast pork, broccoli rabe, and provolone on a roll. Great combination of ingredients. It would have been better if they hadn't forgot the provolone. Pizza was very good, as was our calamari.

Waited almost 40 minutes for a pizza that was burned on top and had barely any toppings, very disappointed, Donna's Italian being on break has absolutely nothing to do with the service and quality of the food that was served. I can't imagine why that was your response.
Fair... Caprese Salad was not good. Main courses were good. Dessert was disappointing, a bad cannoli from an Italian restaurant..? Great atmosphere sitting on the street but we will not go back because of the food. Try another place.
Being a Little Pecks regular, my girlfriend and I decided to finally give Donna's a try one night while studying in the garden area. We had to order take-out since it's not technically part of Donna's dining service, which was totally fine. What wasn't fine was the shock I was in after I opened the takeout container only to find a few pieces of ravioli and squash in there. Just to make sure there wasn't anything wrong, I walked over to one of Donna's staff members and they assured me that was the correct portion size for the dish. It was tasty but waaaayyyy overpriced for the $24 I spent on it (picture attached). My girlfriend's salad had more substance to it and it was allegedly one of the "smaller" dishes on their menu. Pretty disappointed. Had I known I probably would've been more full off of one of their pizzas that I contemplated getting. Not worth the price.

I’ve been to Donna’s multiple times and have always had a great experience. Last night I was there with a group of friends and unfortunately did not have the best experience. We ordered 10 minutes after sitting down and waited 2 hours for one of the entrees (spaghetti with vodka sauce). After being told multiple times that the pasta would be out soonWe were then offered a plate of pasta that was visibly cold that the waitress said was “someone else’s order they didnt want and we could have it”. We asked for the actual pasta we ordered to-go & ended up requesting that comped since we didn't want to wait longer. We never ended up receiving our order.I understand how fresh the food is, but 2 hours for spaghetti and sauce is unacceptable. Staff was very nice but was very let down by the experience.
Service was nonexistent and the casarecce was honestly the worst dish I’ve ever had from a restaurant (for $18 as well, yikes). Salad was fantastic though and I would order that again. Just stay away from the pasta

I have never been treated so poorly. I showed up at 4:05. I get that’s early when your website says you open at 4.. we came early.. my apologies. After waiting to be seated. The waiter came over and took our order. We ordered the house bread appetizer, the barback pizza, a diet soda and a margarita. The waiter says “our bar isn’t open until 5, but I will make it work” a few minutes later a different worker brings the margarita and slams it on the table, so hard the salt fell off. 10 minutes or so goes bye the same margarita offender brings the pizza. I asked for the soda I ordered she said “I didn’t know you ordered a soda” which is fine because she wasn’t our server, she was no where to be found. Like MIA.. finally after we finished the pizza they brought the bread appetizer which we no longer wanted as we were full. So we asked for the bill and asked for one more margarita which I then asked the lady if they didn’t actually open at 4 to her reply “yeah I just wasn’t prepared for you” very rudely. If you don’t open at 4 change your hours online or tell the patrons to come back later, treating paying customers rudely is wild.
Actually some of the worst service I’ve ever received in my entire life
Pizza was way over priced ! Would not recommend too anyone. Not good at all . Don't waste your money. Parking sucked also
Order a Pizza I might as well feed it to two little kids what a joke spend 50 something dollars for wings chicken tenders and pizza that is paper thin that's not even Sicilian pizza what a rip off
Food is worst.Just trust me!
Review based on several experiences at Donna's both dining in and delivery. Donna's is very over priced. $16.50 for two less than average sized meatballs. No bread or salad included with dinners yet they charge the same prices as other Italian restaurants that do include. Garlic knots burnt more than once. This review will self-destruct as soon as Donna's reads it.
