I finally made my way over to The Catch and I’m kicking myself once again for waiting so long to try another gem in East Texas. I had a craving for some catfish with some tartar sauce and a little bit of hot sauce (something I recently started doing) and that’s when I realized I’ve never tried The Catch. I ordered the shrimp and catfish combo and I got red beans and rice instead of fries. I chose the regular portion that came with 3 strips and 3 shrimp. I asked for 1 of each sauce and made my way over to a table. Within 10 minutes or less, a gentleman was bringing me out my food. I could tell right away that I was about to be eating good. One thing I noticed was the variety of sauces and even some seasonings at each table. The little packets of Texas Pete caught my eye for some reason, so I figured I’d give those a shot. For my first bite of fish, I dipped it in some tartar sauce and drizzled a bit of that hot sauce (not even remotely hot) on it. My eyes bout rolled in the back of my head. It was heaven in the form of a fried piece of fish. I immediately tried the shrimp next. I dipped it in some of their remoulade sauce and went in for a bite. Once again, heaven. The shrimp was succulent and perfectly cooked. The batter was seasoned quite well and had a nice crunch to it. I saved the red beans and rice for last. I had to add a little salt and pepper, but I really enjoyed them. The service was phenomenal, seeing as multiple people checked on me while I was eating and the entire restaurant seemed very well kept. This is definitely a place that I can highly recommend for sure.

Absolutely. The best fresh catfish I tasted in years in East TEXAS, Very helpful, friendly, generous, with their portions. Three pieces of catfish was enough to see the family of five!!! I will make sure I come back here. Anytime, I drive the best catfish in TEXAS.

Joe is a fun and amazing employee! He has the best personality and is quite jovial! We truly enjoyed our lunch experience with him. The food is always delicious. And is always consistently good! Worth our two hour drive!!! Definitely recommend the fried green tomatoes!

Visit 2: July 03 2024 Food was good. I Suggest keep clear menu names. I ordered a rice and beans but.it came with pork. It would be great if you can add it to the menu. the rest of the food was great. Visit 1; 3 Years ago Mouth watering and delicious food. I liked the shrimps :)

I was very pleased with this restaurant. The atmosphere was awesome. The customer service was great from the time we got there Lance greeted us and made us feel welcome. Ruby was so helpful and kind. The food was delicious I had the crawfish tacos and my husband had 3 pounds of boiled crawfish and 1 pound of shrimp. We had a great time definitely recommend it.

Not fond of the parking situation but food and service was great! With only two chefs and it being busy, great job everyone! I usually take more pics but the food was too good. Update: came again and still delicious 😋 Adding new pics Update 2/11/24: hats off to the chefs again! Food outstanding!

A tourist trap impression. But we found a table in the bar quickly, service was prompt and friendly. Good beer selection. We had ribs for dinner with beans and a salad. The best part of the meal were the rolls! Ribs don't fall of the bone but r tasty. Probably should stick with steak..

The people were great but the food lacked flavor and the crab and crawfish were extremely salty. As a Florian I do have a keen eye for good cajun food but this spot definitely missed the mark. Really nice staff though so I was upset I didnt like the food.

We always eat here when we come to Tyler cause my husband loves there fried fish and red beans and rice and of course I try something different Everytime. This particular time I got the half and half boil and it had a horrible smell I ate 1 shrimp and it was gross so I looked at everything and I believe it was molded cause it had green and white spots. They offered to fix another or refund but I wasn't taking any chances so I took the refund. I was so sad cause we love eating here and that one incident made me not want to ever eat there again. Cause if I smelled it I know they did but yet they still decided to serve it to me. Oh yeah by the time I made it home I vomited and stomach was upset the whole day. The service and atmosphere was excellent though. I wish I had gotten a picture but I was so upset cause I love boils.

Got takeout from this joint yesterday for 3 people. 3x fillet meals, which comes with 3x fillets, fries and 2x hush-puppies per meal. We also ordered a dozen extra hush-puppies. Not only did they try to charge us $14.99 for the dozen hush-puppies, (normal price $4.99/dozen) they took the 6 hush-puppies from all the meals and put them in the box of a dozen. So we paid $5 for them to screw us out of 6 hush-puppies. We called and talked to a "manager" about it yesterday and he just played stupid and kept saying "I'll have to talk to the person that took the order" and "give me your name and number and my GM will call you back later today". Never got a call from the GM. So it seems like this place is most-likely scamming (STEALING) money from folks. Check your receipts!!! ....and to add insult to injury, select "newest" on these reviews and scroll down until you see Rickymia Squalls' review talking about "swai fish", then research that and you'll understand why their fillets are so big. These are not American catfish... Needless to say, I won't be eating here again!

This establishment will charge you premium prices for catfish, but instead serve you swai fish. Upon notifying the manager, she claimed that swai is the only fish they have, with the only difference being the breading. This response is unacceptable. I have always been a loyal customer of The Catch, but the management is subpar. The manager demonstrated a lack of understanding and further stated that the same fish is served at Happys, which is precisely why I avoid ordering fish from that establishment.
