O que dizem os clientes de Kishi
Kishi Japanese Restaurant is known for its fresh, large portions of sushi and sashimi, especially the Blue Fin and yellowtail. The Teppan grill experience, with chefs like Vincent and Brian, is also highly praised. Some find the teriyaki bland or the prices high.

absolutely top-notch, with a wide variety of fresh fish and creative rolls. The presentation was beautiful, and each bite was a burst of flavor. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend this sushi restaurant to all sushi lovers out there!
Just excellent food. Always a great time. Love the Tappan Grill. They make the best Fried Rice right before your eyes. Great for groups and "Girls Night Out". Drinks are pretty good too. As with everywhere prices have gone up but still way worth it. Excellent cook at our Teppan Grill customized each of the 5 dishes ordered and was very nice. Do jot forget to tip your chef.
I had one of the most wonderful experiences eating here… This place is a treasure! I had the traditional spicy roll, the spicy tuna roll and my friend the resident expert had several different types of fish and one type of eel they were also delicious… The chef is incredibly keen and very intelligent he knew how to read his audience well when you’re sitting up at the sushi bar this is an art that goes beyond any level customer service I’ve ever seen and I am truly an admirer! The service was beyond excellent I have to admit but if you would’ve given me one of those spicy crab rolls I would hope it would never end! They also have several other types of options for seating you can seat yourself at a table that has a hot plate where they do all the cooking in front of you that was neat but we had to go straight to the sushi bar lol I found this place to be incredible I can’t see why anybody would pass this place up!
This is one of the better Japanese resturants in the area. If you don't want food prepared in front of you they have nice menu and excellent service. Love they give you several options here.
This is the second time I've eaten here and it is some of the best sushi I have ever had. If you get a chance sit at the sushi bar and ask for Adolfo. He comes up with some of the best creations and is a great guy to talk to. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. My wife had the teriyaki and was very pleased. We also had their tempura which was flavorful and fresh.
We were celebrating my birthday and had one of the best evenings out! The folks at our table were friendly and the chef was entertaining and cooked everything perfectly. The entire staff was wonderful in helping celebrate my special occasion, they sang happy birthday, gave me an awesome hat to wear and I got my photo on the wall! I was also given a free ice cream and a gift card for our next visit! Found this gem on Yelp and am so pleased we decided to have dinner here! Will be coming back very soon!
Aldolfo, the Amazing Sushi Chef 🍣 is the ONLY reason I dine there...and of course the quality of fish that Phillip the owner provides. I've been a happy customer for almost 28 years! RIP Peter
Food was incredible. The staff was friendly and accommodating as well. Sit up at the sushi bar with Adolfo, he is not only a wonderful chef but also a great guy too. Have to add that the Naruto picture made my day.
Food was great and had an authentic taste. Lots of sushi options with pretty clear explanations of what's inside - a rarity. The chicken katsu was white meat and the beef was tender. The sauces were pretty typical. The salad was a little sweet, but good. Would definitely like to come back and try different options. The menu is extensive, though I wish Japanese curry was an option. Prices were as expected -$12-$18 for a dinner plate.
Best Teppan Grill & Best Sushi in all of San Bernardino County.
Went here for mother's day because we lost our RSVP at another place. I called asking if we can rsvp and they accepted us party of 6. And man, I wished I knew about this place sooner. Food was excellent and their sushi was amazing. I also ordered chicken curry and that was some tasty curry.
This place was good. We had the dumplings and tempura for appetizers, and i had the steak and chicken for dinner. It was cooked right in front of you on the grill. The cook was funny and personable, and the same with the neighboring tables. I would gladly frequent this restaurant again. Enjoy!
My friends and I were in the mood for some Japanese food last night. We usually go to Kobe Japanese House but we wanted a change of scenery. Kishi Japanese Restaurant in Upland was suggested. They've apparently been there since 1982 but I had never been there before. That's where we went. There were seven of us. Several different things were ordered. I had the filet mignon. It was very good. I do wish our teppanyaki chef had used a tad bit more soy sauce while he was cooking it however. Our chef was very entertaining. He put on quite the show. Two of us were celebrating birthdays so they ended up singing to us and snapping a photo for their wall. Oh... and we got a free green tea ice cream to boot. The ambiance was cozy and authentic. Overall, it was a great experience.
What an amazing sushi restaurant! The quantity of fish you get per piece is significant and delicious. The hand rolls are filled and the nigiri and shashimi are delicious with large portions. It is a good price for the quantity while still being a great quality in a nice lighting and big inside restaurant dining area.
One of a kind for their service and food. Good quality meats used, the best table side fried rice I’ve had and the flavors are always on point!
It's just great. Vincent our Teppan chef is very nice and an excellent chef.
We love getting the Blue Fin and yellowtail sashimi. They give you such large pieces and the fish is always fresh. I highly recommend as I've been a patron for 27 years!
As I sit here post meal I'm in complete satisfaction! Wow! Literally had one of easliy the best tasting meals I've ever had.
Celebrated our son's high school graduation at the one place that held so many good memories for us at Kishi Japanese Restaurant. Everything we experienced from their service, drinks, servers, and food were excellent!! Thanks Kishi for another good time.

We visited Kishi Japanese Restaurant for their Saturday–Sunday buffet and had a great experience. There is a wide variety of food, including very fresh oysters, salmon, and tuna sashimi. There are live stations where you can have fried udon, rice, and another cooking station for beef, chicken, fish, and seafood, which makes the buffet feel interactive and freshly prepared. The sushi selection is delicious and well presented. The location is also a plus — with karting, a shooting range, and water activities nearby, it’s a great option for a family day out. The dessert selection is generous and tastes very good as well. The staff and chefs were superb — friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Highly recommended for families, especially if you manage to get a Groupon discount. Definitely worth a visit.
The fish is very fresh. The rolls are big! We definitely over ordered. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. If you’re looking for a chill place to eat and maybe drink this is the place.
My kids and I had never been to a Teppan grill all together. They have discovered they enjoy shrimp and sushi. I thought it would be nice to take them out to eat to celebrate their first week of school for a light lunch. The staff was so super sweet to them and very friendly. My kids thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Definitely would think to come here to celebrate a special occasion. They ordered a child size shrimp and if was a generous portion. The waiter helped my daughter pick out a roll and it was perfect for her. She ate almost all of it and came home eager to finish it. The roll was jam packed with good stuff and huge! Definitely a hidden gem in Upland.

First time coming here & it was really good. The chef/ cook did an amazing job ! Everything was great. The only thing is that I brought my starbucks cup in with my drink and I was asked to leave it in the car or they can hold for me in the back.the person wasn't really nice about it . I understand but I was still buying a drink as well. Overall I will go back because the food was good.
Wonderful little family owned hibachi and sushi place. We've lived here for 11 years and finally stopped in on my birthday for the grill. What a nice place! It took awhile to get a chef, but the service was good and the place was homely. I love mom and pop type restaurants and the fact that the owner came out to introduce himself and take photos of the family afterwards was a nice touch. The food was relatively good, and the family had a nice time. Win-win!
It's comfy and cozy. Food was good and the service was great. I just felt like there wasn't much difference between the taste of the beef and scallops. Don't get me wrong, I will go back. I most likely will order the mix tempura, steamed rice and veggies. I might give the filet mignon a second chance.
Food was fantastic and Brian our Server / Chef extraordinare. Served up fast and easy to enjoy food . Prices are what's expected and worth it. Great value. 👍
Ate here completely based on the menu options I saw on the website, saw some more authentic Japanese dishes that I rarely find outside of little Osaka and little Tokyo, was not a disappointment. The Sukiyaki was very good, loved the lotus roots in it, although it felt a bit too sweet at times. The Saba and Ika was perfect, honestly the Ika was some of the best I’ve had in a while, the Tamago was good too but I wish it was served warm and not cold, the texture of tamagoyaki definitely taste better when warm. I would definitely visit here again, I want to try their Zaru Soba, it’s a favorite of mine and I hope theirs is just as good as I’m used too. Update: ive visited several times since and I really love this place, 5 stars
Great food with great service. Friday and Saturday evening make sure to call for a reservation because it gets crowded and wait time can be up to an hour.

I like that they offer both the flashy show experience for those that want it and regular table/booth seating for those who don't. My wife & I got a booth since it was just us and we wanted to talk rather than be entertained while dining. Service was great and fast, but we both agree that the food was bland. At least it wasn't expensive. The menu was almost overwhelming in the sheer number of choices. Perhaps if they focused a bit more on quality rather than quantity, we'd be inclined to return.
Under new owner: Lunch service was good. Food quality has gone down considerably . The sauces tasted like Costco's and we're just added to the over the meat. Tempura was good , futomaki is also good. Still a good restaurant, just not the quality I am used to.
This place is alright! They make their show and rush you to leave. We were here last week with a group of friends; food was good but as soon as the chef finished cooking we felt rushed to eat and leave. We were still eating when we were offered boxes for our food and the waiter brought the check. They didnt even have a waiting line.
This restaurant has been around for many many years. It has teppan yaki grills or regular tables. We went for the regular tables. I had a teriyaki chicken dinner which included salad, soup, rice and chicken. The portion of chicken was very big and I took home leftovers. The service is very good, friendly, attentive and polite.
Order the kobe steak and shrimp with fried rice. Fifty dollars and some change, definitely over priced. We did get seated fairly quick but under our chair's was a pile of rice that wasn't cleaned up. The presentation wasn't all that. We got one little show from the cook, then he piled all the food on the grille to start cooking.
special menu packet: Dinner for two - Daimiyo, $60 Service was prompt and staff was friendly! Since it was cold we were given an extra soup to start for a child. Chicken and beef teriyaki was a bit bland. Thick slices of sashimi, small california roll and the Galaxy roll was double the size. Ended service with vanilla and green tea ice-cream to share.

To-Go order of vegetable tempura and teriyaki beef. Portions were good , flavor was not great. The tempera was disappointing. Idk the last time I've had bad tempura. Kinda hard to ruin it. The beef teriyaki was not great. Sauce was a little off too.

Grew up going to Kishi, however they changed the menu and it is not as good as it used to be. They removed Sukiyaki from the menu, and it was one of the main reasons I kept going. Sadly no more.

Make a reservation no matter the day!!! Otherwise they'll tell you 30 mins (on a Tuesday) and you'll wait two and a half hours for a table that had been empty for two hours and be seated. Our waitress took out beverage order with attitude. And when she took our food order we learned quickly it was best not to ask questions. If you need napkins, silverware, vetc ask for everything at once. She did not like making trips. We were a party of six and we met a lovely fun couple who joined out table. Luckily this was not my first experience or I'd never be back. Our chef was great and good was yummy. I wish I could tell you the waitresses name so you won't have to endure her, but she never introduced herself and I never saw the bill to see her name either. 🤞you won't get her but if you do try not to hold it against the restaurant..Oh did I mention we were there celebrating a birthday and the couple was celebrating their anniversary??!! We sang, no staff came to sing or offer dessert. SMH
Great food, one of the worst experiences I had with a server. The sad part is, it wasn't the server in training, he was exceptionally nice. It was the server over him, she was absolutely rude and I mean down right. At the end of the day we just wanted to enjoy each other with quality food and service, instead we were treated like we were taking up space...
Food was not good, server seems just wanted to sell. He played the card that he didn't hear what we said. Each plate feed like 3 or 4. He gave us one plate per person. Fried rice tasted like egg. Terrible experience
