Always hits the spot... I can't believe I've been coming here for over 6 years now when it used to be Pho Mai. I got to see the owners of Pho Mai retire and pass down their legacy to one of their own employees who took over the restaurant. How cool is that? I saw the time, energy and care the new owner took to not just take over the restaurant but to improve upon what was already existing. The renovations brightened up the restaurant and gave it a more modern look; offering a new, simplified menu. They kept all the same staff and hired on additonal staff who are all trained to provide excellent service. Service is fast and efficient even when busy without sacrificing the quality and taste of the food. Servings are good sized and reasonably priced. I come at least once a week if I can because I know I can get in and out even if I'm short on time during my lunch break. I will always come back

We had a wonderful experience. I tried the ox-tail soup, and it was delicious! I also enjoyed the jasmine tea, and it was served in an elegant porcelain kettle! We also ordered chicken curry that was perfect. I will definitely return!

I finally visited Pho Rex after it changed ownership and name from Pho Mai. It was very good. I ordered #6 and my wife the beef and rice dish. We also got a pot of Jasmine tea and fried chicken won tons. While the broth was different from Pho Mai, I enjoyed it. The service was very good and I paid at the table. In the past, historically you paid at the register.

The food is great and the server passed by every so often. Only thing we had to wait a bit longer than we wanted to was for the bill itself.

Really great local place! Some of the best broth I've had in a long time. Cute dining area and great service, very friendly and efficient. We got the chicken pho (nice light broth) and lean meat and beef pho (added spicy broth), the egg rolls were also very good and a great price. Highly recommend!

The service is good. If they are busy and understaffed, you’re gonna have to be patient, but that’s a given. The food is amazing and worth the wait.

I live this place. Super calm and chill and good tv display. Its is highly regarded for its unpretentious, cozy atmosphere and consistently fresh Vietnamese cuisine across its locations in Upland, Norco, and Corona. Frequently praise the restaurant for its generous portions, flavorful 24-hour slow-cooked beef broth, and fast, reliable service. The Special Combo is a top choice, featuring a variety of beef cuts like steak, flank, and brisket in a rich broth. For a more premium experience, the Filet Mignon Pho is widely recommended. It was our first time here, just an hour before closing, and not once did they rush us. They let us take our time, explained the menu with patience, and helped us choose dishes we’d actually love. I ordered the Beef & Shrimp Udon Noodle Soup, and my daughter got the Chicken Pho. I paired mine with a hot jasmine tea, and we shared an order of their Cream Cheese Crispy Wontons — the kind that are crunchy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and impossible to stop eating. The woman working that night was the kind of soul you don’t forget. She kept complimenting my motherhood, celebrating the bond between me and my daughter, and making us feel genuinely seen. Her kindness was the unexpected highlight of the night. Then the food arrived. A giant bowl of soup, steaming and fragrant, every bite bursting with flavor. If you’ve been here before and haven’t gone back, I need answers, because our first experience was heaven. It was so good we came back a second time — and doubled our order.Another round of soup, a noodle plate, two orders of the wontons, and drinks. This time I tried the Passion Fruit Iced Tea, and the real passion fruit pieces at the bottom of the cup absolutely shocked me. I’m still thinking about that drink. I will be going back for more. Across both visits, we tried so many dishes, and not a single one disappointed. Warm service, comforting food, and a place that feels like mama’s kitchen when you’ve had a long day. Pho Rex didn’t just feed us — it wrapped us up in a hug.

Great service. Very friendly inviting staff. The Pho is outstanding!!!! Amazing broth.... oh so savory. Outdoor dining provided with all covid 19 safety precautions. Only giving 4 stars due to me not trying more items on the menu but 5 stars for the Pho. You won't be disappointed.

Had #7 pho meatball and steak. The broth was uniquely sweeter than most that I've tried. Regular portion for $13 was enough to fill my tummy. Service was great and place is clean.

The fillet minion pho bowl was amazing. Didn’t even need the sauce or chili. Toppings only was perfect. 🤩 But, having the news on was distracting and killed the atmosphere a little bit. Probably best to just put on a screen saver and that would be great. 👍🏼 Shall return. Been coming to this spot since it was pho Mai. ❤️

The glass noodle pho was really delicious everything I expect from a good pho! Also the bun with the egg rolls and grilled pork had a beautiful grilled flavor.

The food is delicious I'd rate it a 4.3/5 but where they truly win is the service. Not only are they friendly but they are very speedy! Food is typically out almoat within 5-8min from when you order! The only major complaint I have is the serving size for the price you pay should be a bit more generous. Atmosphere has definitely improved! 👌

Very good Vietnamese outside of Alhambra, CA. Nobody can beat Alhambra, maybe Garden Grove or Westminster, and that’s a big maybe. The Pho here, and noodles have a good taste. The beef stew was very good as well. At first, I was very worried because they were not a lot of Asian people dinning here. But I was comforted when I saw the guys serving the food because they know Vietnamese food for real. It was very close to traditional Vietnamese with a small spin. Good choice for take out too. I still want blood cake but they didn’t have it 😄😂🤣

1/28 Update: Quality of food has gone down? I ordered a beef dish and received more pork than beef. Feels like they're implementing a few cost-cutting measures. Original Review: Service has always been great the few times I've gone. The waiter there had always been very attentive, and food arrives promptly.

The boba special in the door is misleading. We asked our server about it and he said yes, it was buy 2 get 1 free. We ordered 3 and while ordering he failed to mention it was only offered on 2 specific flavors not all, the cup is extremely small for $6.99 and the boba was firm and hard. We had to ask for water, the pho was okay. I ordered an #8 steak and lean brisket but for some reason my mean has so much fat and stringy parts left on the "lean" cut of brisket.

Food was absolutely delicious but the service could have been way better. For starters, it's understandable that you have to wait for your food which is fine. But it took them 45 minutes to bring our beverages which was just a soda and a hot tea. They gave our beverages to the wrong table. Those customers brought it back up to the register. I watched the waiter bring those same beverage to our table and I was confused as that is a health code violation. Those other customers could have done something to the drinks. I asked them to remake it and they did not once apologize. By the time they brought it out we were 75% done with our food. We asked for water too but didn't end up getting that. At the end we made a further complaint when we paid for the meal. They didn't compensate for anything but we finally got an apology. I get that restuarant work is hard at times but at least recognize you need to do better. The food however was absolutely delicious. Come for the food but not the service.

Decent Pho spot in the Mountain Green shopping center with very reasonable pricing. A nice flavor on their house broth, though can be hit or miss depending on the day of the week or staff. This place used to be so good but ever since the new owner brought them out, I’ve been having bad experiences. I’ve been vegetarian my whole life and now I occasionally find small pieces of real meat in my food. It makes me want to throw up. The egg rolls taste like they’re made with real meat now too. Seems to me they use the same pots/utensils they use for their real meat plates. I used to be such a huge fan of this place but it’s looking like I can’t trust them and will no longer be going here 🤮

This wasn't my first time at the restaurant. They might have switched ownership. Food was still good but the service wass horrible. I walked in and was completely ignored. The host decided to not make eye contact with me at all. He then proceeded to go right by mee and help the people that calm in after me. It took for me to go to the counter, just so I can get a menu. What socks, is in the past the service was great!

I bought a seafood combination that tasted very bad, just shrimp and pure rice... I really don't recommend this place.

I did a pick up for Pho Rex through Door dash, and it was horrible. We ordered the chicken wonton and BBQ pork noodle soup, and when eating the wontons, they were discovered to be RAW chicken. We took our food back to the restaurant to get a refund, but were given no apologies and were told that they couldn’t do anything about it and to contact Doordash. Some of the chicken wontons had been eaten before discovering they were raw, and it is disappointing how they could care less about the possibility of customers getting sick. Will not be returning here again.

This place is nasty! Ordered pho with beef and tendon. There were multiple pieces of little small hairs on the tendon. Extremely grossed out ……. Definitely a food safety issue.

Terrible, first we ordered at 5:20 and was told the order would take 20-25 minutes, we show up and it isn't ready, thats expected and fine. Unfortunately we ended up waiting 40 minutes in the restaurant while both take out and dine in got their food before us. Also we asked for no shrimp in the combination noodle and it came both cold (like all of our food) and with a lot of shrimps 🙃 Im now fighting for my life on the toilet at 3 am 🤣🤣 never going back again
