Excellent food and service! Raoul was the best server, extremely knowledge
We had a lovely Christmas week dinner with our family. We had burrata with focaccia and carpaccio as appetizers, they were delicious. From the mains, we tried halibut which was delicious but some might find the portion small, for me it was perfect. My kids had ragu pasta and seafood linguini, both were wonderful and comforting. From desserts we liked the tiramisu. Ambience was elegant and beautiful, we sat close to the fireplace which made it cozier.
Really nice experience. Let me start by the service which was amazing (the two girls that look like twins)! The food was very delicate, fresh and delicious. We tried the Gnocchi and the risotto and the both were great choices! It’s worth visiting ..
Tavernetta Vail – A Sister Restaurant That Delivers As longtime fans of Frasca in Boulder and its sister location in Denver, we arrived at Tavernetta Vail with high expectations—and it absolutely delivered. Located within the Four Seasons, the restaurant is beautifully designed, blending warmth and sophistication in a way that feels both inviting and refined. We began with the burrata, served with a vibrant homemade pesto. It was soft, creamy, and perfectly balanced—easily one of the best starters we’ve had in a while. We also shared the insalata mista, a simple but delicious salad. We asked for the buttermilk dressing to come on the side, but honestly, it didn’t need it. The greens were fresh, well-dressed, and generously portioned for two to three people. For mains, we shared the gluten-free spaghetti (available by request) with uni, dungeness crab, and ossetra caviar- bold, luxurious combination that was flawlessly executed. We paired that with the Alaskan halibut, which was perfectly cooked and beautifully plated. To end the meal, we enjoyed a couple of glasses of moscato alongside their panna cotta—a delicate and satisfying finish. Service was attentive and friendly throughout, and the overall experience was seamless from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back.
Tavernetta Vail delivered an amazing dining experience. Service was friendly, attentive, and made the night feel special. I started with the Cassini cocktail 🍹 (rum, passionfruit, lemon), bright and refreshing. We shared: 🍞 Focaccia 🧀 Burrata For mains, we tried: 🍝 Cavatelli Nero 🍝 Rigatoni 🍚 Risotto 🐟 Ippoglosso in Saor (halibut) Finished with ☕ espresso and 🍰 Torta di Carote. Every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared. Great food, great service, definitely a must-visit in Vail.
Had brunch here with my wife and really enjoyed the food. Berry smoothie was delicious and my egg white frittata has a nice balance of salad vegetable and some prosciutto. Service was quick and staff were super responsive. Would definitely recommend for a quick bite for those before they start out hiking.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at FSV and made a reservation at Tavernetta to stay in the hotel. We were not disappointed as we were treated over the top with excellent service and fantastic Italian food from the Alpine region. Different from Tavernetta Denver, this location has a unique vibe, elegant and cozy with stunning mountain views. I want to give special thanks to Justin and Mike for their warm hospitality crafting a very special experience for our celebration, and to Casey who paid special attention to all the details. Excellent experience! ❤️🍝
Tavernetta Vail at the Four Seasons is a stylish Italian restaurant with a cozy, elegant feel. The interior combines warm wood, high ceilings, and soft lighting, making it both upscale and welcoming. The food focuses on Northern Italian flavors and is beautifully presented. The all-Italian wine list pairs perfectly with the menu. Service is friendly and professional, with staff happy to explain dishes and make recommendations. Whether you’re coming off the slopes or celebrating something special, Tavernetta offers a memorable dining experience in Vail.
Tavernetta was absolutely outstanding. My husband, dad, and I sat at the bar and John waited on us. He made our experience literally perfect. My dad wanted to go back again the next night. The food was bar none some of the best food we've ever had. Great wine. John gave us champagne when he had heard that we had just gotten married. He was so memorable. Couldn't recommend it more highly.
The service was exceptional. I loved the limoncello spritz, so refreshing! The food was also delicious.
Amazing food great service the atmosphere for a super fine dining establishments in my opinion incredibly loud . But maybe Im old and just don’t want to yell all night in a restaurant to someone right next to me . Wall paper with texture might help to lower the noise level even the waiter might agree because we couldn’t hear him and just yelled back all night and it was not that busy . Just super loud every thing else was amazing.
Had the most EXCELLENT dinner experience. Such amazing service, Michael, Jerome, and the bartender Raúl - he was INCREDIBLE! Raúl went above and beyond to make sure I had a phenomenal experience. Thank you to all of you. 🙏🏽
We went for happy hour. The wine window was such a fun experience…they offer all kind did different spritz’s. We also had the burrata and it was TOP NOTCH! I would go back just to have that again! The service was impecable and the view was beautiful!
We had a lovely meal with delightful service by Chantel. We were seated in the back room near the fireplace and we were warm enough. The volume of the chill lounge music was low and not as annoying as usual. We would have preferred Italian canzone. Jay, the restaurant manager, circulated on a Wednesday night in low-ish season and we like that. We had bread, an antipasto, a pasta and a main, as well as dessert—much more food than we typically eat but we shared it so… The focaccia was great—with a crust that was kind of like a cracker (but not made with cheese) and we dipped it in the offered olive oil and vinegar. For our starter we had the vitello tonnato and it was delicious—with fried capers and olives to make it more interesting than the classic. Then we had the Mafaldine for our primo, a type of pasta that we weren’t familiar with. We enjoyed it although we could not taste the fennel in the sausage. We liked the pangratatto and the rapini. For our secondo we had the venison, after we quizzed Chantel on whether it was tough. We were assured it was not and we asked for it medium rare to rare. It was cooked perfectly and was tasty and tender. The accompaniments were enjoyable. We asked for a special Italian dessert called zabaglione but got something entirely different (next time we’ll give them a recipe). But we weren’t charged for it! Our meal was terrific and we hope that Bobby Stuckey’s entrée into Vail will raise the level of the quality of all the restaurants in town. We spent $184 and were very happy.
We had a great time. This is absolutely the nicest restaurant in vail now. The staff and service are immaculate, by far the best in Vail. Beautiful venue. If you don’t mind spending some money, you will love it here. The server Laura was incredible.
We randomly went to this restaurant, and the food/service/atmosphere were all fantastic.
Beautiful Ambiance, Excellent Drinks, and (MOSTLY) Great Service - There was a strange and unnecessary interaction that felt more like a reprimand than a friendly redirection, which is unusual for the high level of service I expect from the Four Seasons brand. I’ve been visiting Four Seasons properties since childhood, and they have always set the gold standard for luxury hospitality, exceptional service, and warm, detail-oriented staff. While I don’t always stay at the Four Seasons when I travel, I make it a point to visit when I’m looking for a refined yet inviting experience. On this visit, I stopped by Tavernetta for après ski drinks, and overall, the experience was excellent. The setting was stunning—our table had an incredible view of the snow-capped mountains, and the wine selection and cocktails were top-notch. The service was attentive and efficient, making for a wonderful way to unwind after a day on the slopes. That said, I did have an odd interaction with a manager that took away from the overall warmth I typically associate with Four Seasons service. My friends and I were seated next to a terrace door with a beautiful mountain view. After finishing our drinks, my friends stepped outside to take in the scenery through an unmarked, unlocked door that gave no indication it wasn’t meant for guests. As I gathered our coats, preparing to leave, a manager approached and said he wanted to escort me to the “proper” exit because the door near our table was letting in a draft. I completely understood and even apologized for not realizing, but what surprised me was that he stood next to me and waited, insisting on personally escorting me out—even after I had already agreed to take the designated exit. It was a strange and unnecessary interaction that felt more like a reprimand than a friendly redirection, which is unusual for the high level of service I expect from the Four Seasons brand. If this particular door is an ongoing issue, I’d suggest simply locking it or adding clear signage rather than making guests feel like they’ve broken a rule they didn’t know existed.
Best restaurant in Vail! For breakfast, lunch and dinner! The service here is exceptional and Jay is top notch! Highly recommend!
5/5 absolutely exceptional experience in every way. The food was so delicious we dug right in and didn't get any photos. My 8 year old loved the buttered noodles, I was so glad they had something for kids in mind. Cannot wait to eat here again. 🌟🤍
Marshall and the rest of staff that hosted us this evening were wonderful. They were accommodating, recommended amazing wine, and so kind to bring out a little something extra for the birthday we had at the table. The space is gorgeous and we’ll definitely be back.
Absolutely loved dining at Tavernetta! We had heard that they just opened in the Four Seasons last month (December 2024) and we had to try it. The staff did not disappoint. Denni made sure to literally take care of every single thing we needed and made sure to tell us the specials. You can just tell all the staff has their stuff together because they all had their strut down. I love how their menu works. We had the focaccia burrata together. Yum. Then we had the inslata which has the perfect amount of dressing and Parmesan. After that, we shared the Linguini and it was one of my favorite parts of the meal. The lobster and noodles together had the best flavors. And then for the steak we had New York Strip, dry-aged. We usually don’t have a lot of luck with dry-aged but I ate every bite of my portion. It was apart of the A5 Wagyu special and that Wagyu melted in our mouths. And I don’t even have to mention how gorgeous the interior is! Chef’s kiss to this place all the way. You must go here AT LEAST once during your stay in Vail!
Love every minute of it. We had the best waiter and team helping us with the kids meals coming out first and guiding us to the best meal! Salad was so big and crunchy and delicious. Steak was out of this world. They welcomed us and our 2 little ones. Top notch, a meal to remember, thank you! Christine and Adam from DC
I sat at the bar with Kristen as my guide thru a divine culinary and wine experience. The New York steak called Manzo, with special local grown squash and a burgundy truffle sauce was delightful. The Tuscan Podere Sapaio wine was served at a perfect temperature. Don’t forget to try the pana cotta for dessert, it will not disappoint. Service at the bar with Kristen was 5 star! I will be back. Four Seasons needed this place.
This has to be one of my favorite restaurants in the entire valley! It is now where we spend our birthdays, I take people for work dinners, we even decided to eat dinner here the night of our wedding. The staff is extremely nice and the food is delicious every. single. time. Consistency is a big thing here in the valley that you don’t typically get, and Tavernetta always delivers!
Amazing service. Amazing food. Had dinner here 3 times out of the 5 nights we stayed in FS. Michael the manager was great and accommodated us every single time..
What a beautiful restaurant. The food and service were amazing. Literally nothing I can say it’s missing. It’s a luxurious experience for sure. Best Italian food I’ve had in Colorado.
Perfect restaurant to be honest i got the best service, and the best recommendations from our server would come back definitely
Worth every penny! We made a reservation but got there early to get cocktails from their cute spritz window and drank them outside by the fire overlooking the resort. Then our meal and the service were top tier. Our waiter Paul was exceptional and we met the manager Michael who was just lovely. We got the focaccia starter with olive oil and it was divine. Followed by the best burrata I’ve ever had. We got the truffle gnocchi for our mains and it was insanely good - huge prices of fresh truffles they shaved right onto our plate at the table. And finally the tiramisu dessert is to die for. Plus the red wines we had were top tier!! Pricey but the quality and experience matches it 🙌🏼
I visited Tavernetta with my wife and three kids this week during our Vail ski trip. The restaurant was truly EXCEPTIONAL. The ambience very chic. The food exquisite. And the service a solid 5 stars. The waiter and sommelier who attended to us were extremely polite, knowledgeable and professional (they both had moved to vail from NYC). The manager JAY was the best of all. He checked on us frequently and when I asked him for the favor of assisting us in securing a hard to get reservation at another Four Seasons facility, he immediately got it done. Jay is a very capable and professional fellow. TAVERNETTA to us is the best restaurant in Vail and will be our go to place for italian fine dining every time we vacation in Vail.
Our dinner at Tavernetta in Vail was absolutely exceptional. The moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm, elegant atmosphere and the beautiful setting. It’s the perfect place for a special night out. The service was top-notch — attentive, professional, and truly welcoming. The staff made sure every detail was perfect, and their recommendations were amazing. The food was beyond incredible. Every dish was rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can taste the quality and passion in every bite. The combination of delicious cuisine, amazing service, and the cozy upscale environment made the entire experience unforgettable. If you are visiting Vail, Tavernetta is a must-try. It’s one of the places that stays in your memory long after you leave. We had a fantastic time and would 100% come back again!
Really solid restaurant in Vail, nearly as good as the one in Denver. Service was impeccable, of course, and the dining room was a great atmosphere.
We chose this restaurant for our 20th Anniversary dinner of choice. The food we ordered was good and cooked to perfection. I was a little disappointed with the selection in the menu. It was limited and not full spectrum. The gal who was our waitress seemed put off by our inability to read Italian and comprehend the dish offerings. We did ask questions and they didn’t seem welcomed. At some point, it’s almost as though she forgot we existed.
Came here for a birthday dinner and honestly loved almost everything about this restaurant. I highly recommend anyone to visit the only issue I had was they didn’t have many vegetarian options and they said they could make a pasta with spicy red sauce for me but it was pretty bland. Other than that, their apps, drinks, meat/seafood dishes our group raved about! Everything on their menus was 10/10, their off menu vegetarian options just weren’t the best but I would still go back!
The ambiance is excellent and what made our dinner the best were Kristen and Meagan at the bar who have to be the best bartenders/servers in Vail. My date and I had dinner at the bar instead of a table because those 2 were so much fun. There was problem during dinner (not their fault) that detracted significantly from our enjoyment and we addressed it with Jay (the manager). Kristen and Meagan went out of their way to be kind and make things right.
The food was average, beautiful atmosphere, slow service.
I was excited to try this Italian restaurant, but unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. Place and service are great. The food was anything but traditional Italian—strange flavors, odd textures, and overall not tasty. It felt more like an experimental take on Italian cuisine rather than the real deal. If you’re looking for authentic flavors, this is not the place. Place and service are great.
Overall good dining experience, but it doesn’t meet the standards of the Denver location. Service was slow and some of the dishes were a little saltier than usual. Plus everything is marked up 20-30% because it’s at the Four Seasons in Vail.
I would suggest that being associated with your brand you pay close attention to this location. Food was ok but not Memorable. Presentation of the food poor. A strong attempt at service with people unqualified for this scale of dining. I hate writing this type of review but at these prices it’s like putting lipstick on a pig, Yes still a Pig Sorry
A disappointment. We're big fans of Tavernetta in Denver and of course, of Frasca in Boulder: great food and even better service, a special treat. So a reservation for my wife's birthday was an easy choice. But this place was either suffering from "shoulder season" staffing issues or is simply coasting on the Four Seasons reputation. Food was overall fine, especially the risotta, which we split as an entree. The rest was only average. The ambiance was nice, no complaints. But the service - which I expect to be the highlight of fine restaurants like these - didn't measure up. I'd let the restaurant know it was my wife's birthday ahead of time, but got no indication they knew of this until well into the meal, after a reminder. We started with drinks, or tried; our server immediately forgot my wife's request and had to check back after a delay. We also asked for a starter, which was forgotten entirely, though later provided when reordered. We found our server to be mostly absent and uninterested, unlike tables nearby. We feel for overworked staff these days, but the focus on nearby customers suggested something else was going on (or more to the point, not going on). This is not the Fasca experience that we've experienced, sorry to say. I wish I could say this meal was worth the high price paid (tho not wildly out of range for the Vail Village) or that my wife's birthday was enhanced by Tavernetta, but I won't. YMMV, and I hope it does.
Food was extremely expensive but absolutely delicious. $70 for 4 oz of halibut, $50 pastas, etc. The service was very spotty (30 minutes to get a glass of wine) and did not warrant the 20 percent service charge that was already included in our “large” (5 person) party. The pricing would be more understandable if the service was on-point. The included tip left a bad taste in our mouths. Go on your corporate card and ask for your wine early.
Food was great! We loved everything we ate. Atmosphere was also amazing. Beautiful restaurant. Our only complaint was the service. First of all, our server made us order all of our courses at the very beginning. This is an Italian restaurant where everything is supposedly authentic. Italian restaurants are known to be slow and at your leisure. We were rushed throughout our entire dinner. Our server asked us to order our second glass of wine before we were done with our second. The only time we were able to take our time was when the kitchen got delayed. It was a real bummer given how tasty the food was. They just need to know that people want to eat slow.
Beautiful space. Odd experience overall. Servers were attentive but could not even provide a taste of one of the wines by the glass. Ordered it anyway and was smallest pour of wine I think I have ever received. Pasta was unique and good but would not order again. They wanted phone number, first and last name prior to seating me, just a minor annoyance. Left odd number of bar seats on one side of me and then wanted me to shuffle down 3/4 way through meal when four others arrived. Seemed easily avoidable with forethought. Just did not feel high end dining. Not in line with my other Four Season experiences or expectations. Will not rush back.
We were really excited to try Tavernetta and arrived very hungry, ready for a great experience. We ordered the carpaccio di manzo, focaccia, two risottos, and two short rib pastas. I don’t usually like to leave negative reviews, but when you dine at a restaurant of this level—especially in a Four Seasons—you naturally have high expectations. Out of everything we ordered, the carpaccio was the highlight. It was good—but not particularly memorable. The risotto, unfortunately, was the most disappointing. The texture was very loose, almost like a cheese soup, and both people who ate them ended up with stomach discomfort afterward. The short rib pasta was decent, enjoyable but not outstanding. As for the focaccia, it wasn’t our favorite, but we chose not to return it because the staff was genuinely kind and attentive, and we didn’t want to make a scene. I do want to emphasize that the service was excellent. Everyone was warm, professional, and very welcoming throughout the meal. Our disappointment was really with the food itself rather than the hospitality. Overall, we left feeling that the dishes didn’t quite meet the level we were expecting, given the restaurant’s reputation and setting.
Very average restaurant priced up as “fine dining” for no reason. The food was not particularly good, the service was pushy and scammy, and both the food and drinks menus were rather small and basic. The prices for the dishes had me thinking the entire time, “how egotistical do you have to be to charge this much for a simple dish such as risotto or gnocchi”? If you know anything about Italian cuisine, you would know gnocchi is a humble dish originated from times of poverty - wheat was too expensive to mill so people used potato. Same exact story for risotto - a peasant meal from its origin. Risotto is a first course - not a second course - by the way. I of course am sounding like a snob, but if you’re gonna price these simple dishes like one, I’ll critique it like one. The service was very pushy, and gimmicky, the server genuinely made two comments about how this is fine dining. Throw down a white tablecloth before saying something like that. And no, my jacket is fine on the back of my chair, please don’t ask me twice. It’s not disturbing the restaurant’s aesthetic because this is the lower floor of a hotel in Vail Colorado where everybody’s sunburnt with helmet hair, not the Plaza Hotel. I think instead of trying to read how fat the pockets are of the table to gauge how much you can upsell us, you should focus on reading the table and maybe letting us enjoy a meal consisting of the things we would like to eat and drink with nothing more. I looked around and not one table had full, laughing people ordering drink after drink and desserts, if this starts to spell out the problem. Just tourists getting robbed and not looking comfortable about it in the slightest. If you have money to burn, have no care for Italian cuisine, nor a lively environment, come here. If not, I redirect you to La Nonna - Italian executive chef who prices modestly, especially for Vail Valley. Fattoria in Avon is excellent as well, my personal favourite. Ti Amo in Eagle Vail is the favourite for most around here. None of these will leave you with a sore feeling when you pay the bill, and keep you from ordering what you really want to eat and drink because of prices. I absolutely will spend (maybe too much) money on a great meal, but not a mediocre one! The reason I’m writing this review is that I am personally offended at my experience. For a mediocre meal and pushy service, we spent over $100/person. My family felt awkward when ordering which was not a good feeling at all - going out to eat should be an experience so warming you forget about the bill. Best of luck while ironing these issues out.
I feel like this restaurant took advantage of me. This dinner out was one big joke. First off, the food took forever to come out. Then after finally getting my 7oz Ribeye for $87, it was obvious it sat out for a while with no sense of urgency to bring it to us. The portion sizes for the price should be criminal. I felt ripped off, and it didn’t even taste that good. The menu reads that butternut squash comes with the Ribeye, look at my picture. There is a single teaspoon of butternut squash. Absolutely unbelievably horrible experience, don’t waste your time or money.
Told them my allergies, still served dishes with almonds in them. Never apologized, avoided our table. The Ribeye was such a ripoff. They sat us next to a door that opened 10 times unleashing the extremely pleasant cold, before we put a chair in front. Thanks for the awful experience. Edit: Love the response 6 months later. Thanks for considering my allergy, not a dietary concern, half a year later.
I love the Denver location, so this experience was really disappointing. Service was slow, which we understood—but our server missed part of our order, forgot an entrée, then brought the wrong dish and accused me of lying about it. Everyone at our table heard me order it correctly. No manager checked in, and for the price, the service felt careless and disrespectful.
Extremely disappointing experience. The food took forever to come out, and when it finally arrived, the portions were shockingly small for the price. Everything is overpriced, yet the taste was completely average at best — nothing memorable, nothing impressive. For what they charge, the quality and execution are nowhere near acceptable. This restaurant is absolutely not worth the money or the wait. Do not recommend.
As huge fans of Fresca, we were thrilled to learn the connection to Tavernetta in our home town in Vail. We could not have been any more disappointed. Hard to even imagine these two restaurants are even remotely related. While walking through town, my wife and I decided to stop in and see if they could fit us in at the bar without a reservation as it was the slow season. The bar was currently full but we were told it would be 10-15 minutes an took my number to text when two seats opened. We went upstairs for a drink. 50 minutes later I went downstairs to the restaurant to check on our waitlist only to find a completely empty bar. The hostess said she was just about to text us letting us know there was now room. 🙄 We sat down as the only two at the bar and watched two people at the bar with their backs turned to us socializing. After 15 minutes, one of the bartenders turned around and asked if we wanted to see menus and slid 2 towards us. After 20 more minutes of being ignored, we left. They didn’t even take our drink order. On our way out I give a manager credit. He saw us walk out and asked what he could do and implored us to stay so he could make it right. This was appreciated but we were just so upset that this restaurant wasted an hour and a half of our night we thought it was just best to leave. Unfortunately for Tavernetta, we are local, and like most, have frequent visitors. We will not be shy about our first and only experience there.
Food price with portion sizes ia ridiculous. We paid 120 for gnochi with white truffles and the truffles must not have been fresh because it was not very aromatic or could taste them the flavor was ok but lord those portion sizes, ribeye was ok not great. My son had a rigatoni pasta for 56 that he liked it but wanted to order another one because of how small it was. Appetizers were pretty good rest mehhh. Wine they put bottle far from me and I had to tell them to bring it close since they were never available to serve it. Server was nice. I don’t think I will be back we are from Miami we are use to great food this was not it. This place would not survive in Miami I have my doubts if it will survive here to be honest. People say Carbone is over rated ect but Carbone food is twice better than this for 60% the price
