Always a great experience! Service, food and atmosphere! The tortillas melt in your mouth and are the best I’ve ever had! Margarita cart is cool!
The best warm, freshly made, flour tortillas in Southern California! Mixed with the chunky green salsa. All the food is also delicious and hot coming out. Great service and reasonable prices. Never miss it when I’m in Venice.
I've been going since 2012 for dinners, birthdays, and family reunions. They're the kindest best people - incredible food - great decor - the tortillas keep me telling everybody about this place. Much love to Casablanca for all you do - we love you 🥹🥰
Coming to LA From the East Coast, I knew I wanted to get good Mexican food - hard to find where I'm from. Casablanca was recommended to me and I am so glad. Took myself for a solo date and had quick and welcoming service, a fabulous mimosa (and one to go!), and all the food I was craving. I'm vegetarian and had the chile relleno, a cheese enchilada, and queso fundido with mushrooms. Everything was delicious. The tortillas were made in front of me right in the middle of the room. Both salsas brought to me were flavorful and unique. The live music was very sweet. The decor, from my understanding, was based on the movie which I had never seen, but I could tell it's very lively. The atmosphere and food/drink brought me back to Mexico. Yum. I missed it as soon as I ate it. Next time I'm in LA I'll be back. Staff was great and pricing was decent.
This place has excellent food and a quirky fun character. It's a Moroccan themed place, based on the movie of the same name, but it's now an authentic Mexican restaurant. The staff is incredibly friendly and the service is outstanding. It's overall a great dining experience.
There is no better place for tacos. But it is the most authentic fine dining Mexican food. They have a tequila cart that co.es around and the energy incredible. The tortillas are fresh, made to order and don't get me started on the margaritas. One will make you feel pretty relaxed!!!
Loved this place!!! Great atmosphere. Tortilla bar with freshly made in the middle of the restaurant. A wandering margarita trolley. Career waiters and great (huge) meals. Oh and live music. Our Venice fave
Honestly, what else can be said about this place with cult following, that hasn’t been said before. Great food, margaritas, atmosphere, crowds, supporting stuff... bottom line is get some good happy people around you and come over to see it yourself. Reasonably priced, with plenty of dedicated parking available. If you come during hot dinner hours expect some wait time. Starting mystery, of course, is why is the Mexican food place named Casablanca? Come and solve it yourself 🤣
One of the best and oldest traditional Mexican restaurants in west LA. Really old school. The food was delicious. Fresh tortillas were to die for. The carne asada plate was the star of the show. Juicy and flavorful. Great Margaritas and guacamole as well. A true LA favorite.
An atmospheric spot with lots of decor from the movie Casablanca. It's better to book a table in advance. On Sunday evening it was very crowded; we were lucky to get a free table outside. But inside, the atmosphere is very cozy, and next time I'd like to sit there. The food and drinks are delicious, and the portions are large
Might be the best tortillas I've ever had. Also the 🥑 is super fresh. It's so delicious. And have to say I really enjoyed their salsa as well A must stop in LA
A westside classic. Great Mexican food with particularly notable seafood specialties (the Shrimp Ivonne is a must try). Hand made flour tortillas with a green salsa come to your table as the tequila cart is rolled your way for custom margaritas or a wonderful array of tequilas and mezcals to try. All of this surrounded by Casablanca memorabilia that would make any film fan gush. Recently added egg dishes for Sunday brunch and a Wednesday (I think) “secret menu” round out options for a wonderful experience.
The carne asada plate is our favorite. But the best part is the homemade tortillas, made front of you, and the avacado tomatillo salsa that is at your table. Also the margaritas are strong and tasty. They bring the margaritas cart to you. What more can you ask for? The Cadillac margaritas is fabulous, but the Immortal margarita...now that is a cocktail!
The free hot tortillas and salsa with cheese chunks is INCREDIBLE. Carne asada burrito was pretty solid (didn't like the chunks of vegetables in it though). Queso Fundido was okay, I would skip next time. The queso was basically just melted mozzarella that you would find on nachos and it solidifies super quickly. Guac is good. Granted we were a large party of 12, but service was a little slow to take our drink and food orders. Place was packed and a great lively social vibe on Saturday night. Seemed like a pregame spot.
First time here. Great experience. Food is great but the staff is the best part of it. They treat you so good is like being at home. Inside and outside seating area. Outside for a relaxed dinner with friends and family. Inside for a more intimate/romantic setting. Either way, you'll have a great time. From margaritas made table side to a secret menu. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
Casablanca was a FANTASTIC restaurant! My girlfriend took me here to celebrate and I loved it. I had never heard of it, but the food was delicious and the margaritas were excellent! The whole place is a love letter to the movie Casablanca, with tons of rare memorabilia that would make any film fan jealous. I’m already planning my next visit!
Where do I begin? To say this is the best meal I’ve ever had isn’t an understatement. When food makes you dance, you know you have found a gem. I traveled from Georgia to Venice Beach with one goal in mind…eat at Casablanca again. I took my boyfriend who A) had never been to California before B) Had never had genuinely good Mexican food before. He said not only was this the best Mexican he’s ever had, it’s the best meal he’s ever had. Like ever. I got goosebumps when he said that! Made me so happy and proud that I was able to show him this place. I went with the ribeye plate. For $29, I ate for three days. The homemade salsa with chunks of cheese will make you want to take a swim in the bowl. The hand made, IN FRONT OF YOU tortillas will make you want to say WHAT CARB FREE DIET? Listen. This is a death row type meal. So get here and get here fast.
Amazing restaurant! Great food. Great vibes. Great staff. The homemade tortillas were delicious. The margaritas were beyond amazing, and the service was exceptional. We celebrated my brother-in-law's birthday, and they took the time to celebrate him and gave him a lock for him to sign. Definitely recommend stopping to try their authentic food.
I went Saturday night for dinner. I'm Moroccan background. Let me tell you the food was amazing. I am definitely going back. It was delicious.

I live very close by and would say this is a good but not great Americanized Mexican food restaurant. It’s been open since 1980 and is quite popular here in Venice. Inside is fairly large with many different seating options from booth, to table, to bar seating. Our server was polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. They also make the tortillas right on site and they were one of the best parts of the meal because they were absolutely delicious and very fresh. There is also a large free parking lot attached on the side and in the back of the restaurant. For this visit I ordered the Carne Asada Tampiqueña and enjoyed it. The carne was a bit fattier than I prefer and I was not a huge fan of the rice but the tortillas and the side enchilada were very good, I appreciated the crispy cheese topper on the enchilada specifically. Overall, I would say this is a solid option for a casual Mexican lunch or dinner with friends or family especially if you are in a rush. The location is honestly really great and the easy parking is also a big bonus.
Very nice, I ordered the Seafood Abrasso. I enjoyed it. I need to go again after 3 margaritas I can't remember... The atmosphere was great.. The tables customers celebrated each other... The service was exceptional, quick and kind.. The smell 😋 delicious.. The tortillas were thin and tasty 😋

Very average and bland Moroccan food. It lacks the rich, aromatic smell and depth of flavor one expects from Moroccan cuisine, and instead tries to mask its blandness with excessive salt. The Moroccan tea was made with over-steeped green tea, making it harsh and pungent, nothing like proper Moroccan black tea with fresh mint. I ordered a corne de gazelle, a classic dessert, which was good but they served only one with a generic cinnamon cookie I could get anywhere. While the place could feel cozy thanks to the dim lighting and decor, the large TV and empty space with no only a few clients in such a big space make it feel more like a sports bar.
All presentation and no flavor. Come here if you want to know what food tasted like before mankind discovered spices. I didn't know it was possible to cook an entire meal that tasted like nothing. This place is the Lacroix of Mexican food. Everything was completely bland. No flavor whatsoever. I'm surprised the onions tasted like onions. Guacamole, no flavor. 👎 Chimichanga, no flavor. 👎Rice and beans? You guessed it, absolutely zero flavor. 👎Even the red sauce enchiladas which should have peppers in it that inherently have flavor tasted like mush 👎their cevice should be illegal. I swear they opened a bag of precooked shrimp and dumped it into some pico. It didn't taste like limon at all. 🤮 People were nice but I would never come back here. This food was straight up embarrassing 😔 THE ONLY GOOD THING was the green sauce with queso they brought to the table before the meal. That sauce was pretty good 👍
