What a gorgeous place! The atmosphere was spot on. There were a series of rooms with tables in them; very intimate. Loved the light fixtures! The service was amazing, as was the food. I loved my coffee, and I had the best chicken and waffles I have ever had in my life.

Awesome dinner at Castle Farms. Went with 4 friends for a bachelor party. The service was great. Bread rolls are amazing. Recommend the Pappardelle Pasta. Very cool to see inside of the castle and walk around within the castle walls. Go to the top for some good views!

A Perfect Date Night! Our night began with an incredible "tour" of the property where we were able to visit the grand ball room, pool, local herb garden, and of course, the 3rd floor roof which provided a spectacular view of the surrounding grounds and nearby city. Once our table was seated, we were escorted to our table. The meal began with an appetizer of fried green tomatoes and a "bread service" that was exquisite (the honey butter was absolutely amazing!!). We both ordered a specialty seasonal cocktail which were both equally pleasing to the taste buds. For main entrees I had the Wagu Ribeye and she had the Fried Chicken. Both were hearty portions and were filled with excellent flavor. Even something as basic as the mashed potatoes and corn that came with the chicken dish had every bite packed with flavor!! My ribeye was cooked perfectly and every bite was juicy and full of flavor. During dinner we enjoyed several more cocktails (sampling different ones with each round) but my personal favorite was the "peach bourbon" which was a delightful blend of a good strong bourbon, coupled with a sweet peach puree, perfectly balanced together to make a delectable end to an excellent meal. For dessert, we enjoyed the "smores" desert (dont remember what it was called). My only complaint is that the center was cold - almost frozen. I'm not sure if this was supposed to be this way or not; after thinking about it it might be that they are pre-made and frozen, so perhaps ours was not fully thawed or properly reheated. Either way, it was delightful. Our date ended with a romantic stroll back upstairs, since the sun had gone down and the lights were out. We had a nice walk, and for some reason I felt like dancing (since no one was up there), so I put on some romantic music on my phone, and we danced and talked before our Uber picked us up to take us back to our hotel. Overall I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Castle Farm for a romantic evening, date night, or family dinner!

We celebrated our one Year Engagement at the place we were engaged! We love the Bistro inside & had to have dinner again! Our server was amazing! He suggested and we just ordered! Very attentive but not overly hovering! Great personality! Their menu provides locally sourced items from their very own hi tunnel & garden area! They have a full stocked lounge area with anything really! Enjoy a gorgeous ambiance while dining! Can’t wait to go back again & again! We love you Kentucky Castle Family!

My husband and I stayed a night in the KY Castle and had dinner here. I loved the farm to table menu, fresh bread, and the unique menu selections. Our service was excellent and appreciated that the manager came to each table to check on our dining experience. I ordered the rabbit and dumplings and it was a really delicious entree and I was pleasantly surprised how good rabbit was. My husband ordered the elk and we ended with a scrumptious moist strawberry cake. This is definitely a unique experience and would be great for any romantic celebration.

This place is a dream come true! It's a fairytale building with amazing food and ambiance! We sat in the bar area, and I was a little disappointed in that, but I quickly got over it when we started to have our food brought out! The Fresh Breasd Service is an absolute must-have!! The lamb meatballs were the only thing I wasn't as excited about, and it was due to them having what tasted to be a very strong lemon zest flavor. The lambchops and bison ribeye were topnotch, and I'd go back to have either!

First off, the castle atmosphere is really fun! Dinner was very good. The lamb chops were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The 8 oz filet was also amazing! Our kids destroyed it! Josh our waiter was very helpful with bourbon flight selections - thanks! Only thing I would suggest is more seasoning/flavor on the watermelon salad. But definitely a must try experience!

Went to the castle for the mystery dinner theater. Had a great time with the other guests at our table. The Murder and Merriment Company mystery dinner theater was a wonderful experience! The personal interactions with the actors and actresses kept you totally intrigued until the murderer was revealed. The castle grounds were beautiful to walk around. Highly recommend going up to the balcony the view is breathtaking. Inside the castle the staff is very attentive making you feel like royalty. The bartender is friendly, knowledgeable and is a joy to talk with.

We picked the Castle Farm to celebrate our anniversary. Everything exceeded our expectations from the scenery to the service, atmosphere, and food. We started off with peppers and pork belly appetizers. The soup of the day was a red pepper bisque that was to die for. We enjoyed the lamb, and the chicken breast as our main dishes. Cheesecake with caramel sauce also hit the spot for dessert. Sabrina checked on our table. She was courteous, engaging, and an overall delight. We would definitely go back again. Two thumbs up.

Oh, what a dream this restaurant is! From the service to the food to the ambiance, a Five star rating is well deserved! Our server, Parker, brought class and sophistication to make this a truly elevated dining experience!

My husband and I stopped at the Kentucky Castle on our way back to Ohio from Tennessee. We are both happy that we decided to go. We initially tried to dine there on our way down when we first saw it from the road, but they are currently closed from 1pm-5pm. We had made reservations for lunch and were immediately seated upon our arrival. I ordered an Apple Cranberry Mule mocktail and a bread basket to share, which had a variety of pastries and included an apple based jam. For my main course I ordered the strawberry French toast with a side of sausages, and home fries. Everything was extremely delicious, well made, and had great portions (and that is coming from someone that is not a light eater). The location is easy to get to, and the castle and surrounding grounds are beautiful. The interior of the castle is tastefully curated, and it was enjoyable to see all the details that were included in the reproduction of a European style castle with modern amenities. All of the staff we interacted with or observed were friendly and professional. All of the areas we visited were clean and organized (main entrance, one of the dining rooms, restrooms, ball room, and gift shop). We look forward to going back, and plan to take advantage of staying on the lovely property, exploring the spa services, and enjoying more of the delicious food.

The Castle Farms is a wonderful restaurant located inside the beautiful castle in Lexington. It began as a labor of love when Rex and Caroline Martin purchased the land to break ground in 1969. They were taken by European castles they'd seen while vacationing in 1968 and wanted to create something special back home in Lexington. The property has since change ownership a couple of times but has remained a decades long iconic landmark in the heart of horse country. The main structure was completely rebuilt after a devastating fire in 2004. Ultimately, it's become a bucket list destination for many Kentuckians. Inside, you'll now find a lovely hotel/spa and 5-star dining where the food is incredible! Afterward, you can take into the experience by walking the grounds or viewing the entire area from the rooftop of the castle. It's truly something you have to experience at least once.

Wonderful dining experience in the restaurant. A friendly and efficient wait staff...the dinner was great with music playing in the background and a relaxing dinning room experience...locally or Kentucky Proud sourced delicious food on the menu. If you arrive early check out large well kept garden on the the Castle Farm restaurant grounds....or chill at the well stocked casual bar. It's a restaurant that's definitely a cut above.

Beautiful atmosphere at the catsle, fantastic service and the food was wonderful. We went for an impromptu lunchI, they have a lunch/brunch menu. I had the cobb salad, I would definitely recommend it. Everyone enjoyed their food. I would go back for sure!

We had a great dinner here with my parents. We had the appetizer Charcuterie board and it was really scrumptious. A very good group appetizer. I had the Wagu beef filet and it was excellent. I also had a side of the wild mushroom risotto which was quite good, though not the best I have had. I then had the last slice of cheese cake from the kitchen that night. It was a very good ending to a wonderful meal. We plan to return and try other items on the menu and stay in one of the rooms later this year. 2022: Very good brunch. Corey was a great waitress. Had a great 😃 time with my parents and daughter.

Wow! This incredible castle has a 5 star restaurant. We had the lamb soup, salmon and pork chop. Everything was excellent. They also have an excellent Bourbon selection. Justin will educate you on Bourbon. The staff is exactly as you would expect for the price. You finitely get what you paid for. We came just for pictures and stayed for dinner. Treat yourself, come here for dinner expect to spend about $100 for two with drinks - they'll make you feel special. No special dress required - I wore a T-shirt from Huntsville, AL.

At the time of my review this restaurant has 4.1 stars, which in my opinion makes it severely underrated. The entire experience from checking in for dinner, to the intimate mpromptu tour of the castle we received by Ramona who manages the gift shop while waiting for dinner, to the attentive service before and during the meal made us feel so at home and welcome. Add on the incredible and inventive food (the goat cheese brulée, oxtail medallions, and mushroom torte were our starters), and that just rounded things out. Not one negative thing to say about this place - the ambiance is spectacular and the prices are easily commensurate with the value you receive.

This was our first time there. Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth it? Also yes. The ambience was stunning and it was romantic to be able to explore the grounds while waiting for our reservation. Our server was very helpful and described the menu items in a way that made decisions easier. The food itself was absolutely delicious. Their farm to table philosophy results in amazing fresh food with an incredible depth of flavor. This is a really great place to dine for formal or special occasions.

My partner and I were celebrating and we had been looking forward to this meal for months. He remarked that the steak was the best cut he had tasted in ages, and the potatoes were delightful. A big thank you to Chef Karl and the entire cook staff for the incredible meal; the charcuterie was outstanding. Mauro was exceptionally gracious in serving us, and Jordan personally delivered our drinks to the table. The efforts made us feel truly special, and I was able to experience true hospitality that TKC offers. It made such a wonderful holiday meal.

Went for a birthday gift from my wife (0716/21) seated quickly. The stuffed artichokes were amazing ( we ordered 2) Food was good. atmosphere was great. Service was great. Will be going back for an over night stay for sure. We had the wagyu short ribs( daily special) ( they had a lot of fat but tasted great) waitress seen this and offered something else so we got the pork chop. It was so good very juicy. And trout it also was good. The soup of the day was squash, yummy. And a free desert because it was a birthday dinner. They give bread and ( I think ) herb butter , very good we also had two bowls of. Would recommend a visit. Beautiful place. Kid friendly also. Check this place out and they have a on site garden they get their veggie from. Meat is local also.

Very nice drink and good food. Started with fried grits and bread basket, then ordered chicken&waffle, French toast, and pork belly benny. We were kinda sad that they overcooked eggs on the benny but still very good experience. Definitely recommend to walk around the castle if you have extra time.

The meal we had here was truly one of the highlights of our trip. The castle, grounds and food are amazing. Our server Emili was adorable and an absolute pleasure. Having brunch in a castle... are you kidding me? The experience was astonishing. Service was top notch and the food was delicious. Even the coffee was excellent! We had the Shakshouka, Henderson's Breakfast (highly recommend the sausage links) and the Black Cherry Grilled Cheese. Everything was delicious. After breakfast, we walked around the castle, went up to the top of the castle and enjoyed the breathtaking view. Great place for a date, or just to spend a day with family. Even better if you head over to Keeneland Race Park for horse racing after brunch. I thought price was very reasonable for both the food AND the experience combined. Afterall... you ARE HAVING A MEAL IN A CASTLE!

Beautiful place the food was delicious. But a bit overpriced. $12.00 for biscuits and gravy is a bit much. It is a cool place you can walk out to the garden see the goats amd also go to the roof and look ground.

Been driving by the castle for years and made a reservation for the girlfriend and I to experience. The place is gorgeous, the service was superb. The room was a bit crowded and murder mystery night was quite noisy. Had a great time regardless. I had the salmon while she had the pork chop. Quite over complicated flavor profiles and simply over rated in the culinary experience. Prices are understandable when you consider the "fresh" ingredients and the location you are in.

My wife took us here for dinner…she wanted to go for the experience and to visit the castle we have driven by for years! Worth every penny as she and my son loved the experience! The grandeur of the inside of the castle and grounds was exquisite! Dinner was very good as well!! I had the pork chop on the full bone with sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and a sausage stuffing. Very well prepared and excellent flavor. My wife had the fried chicken which was fired golden brown but still very tender and juicy on the inside with green beans and cabbage. Our son had grilled chicken and fries from the kids menu and he ate every bite so it must have been well prepared as well. There was a wedding party going on outside and in areas of the castle but that didn’t affect the overall coolness of our visit. Beautiful place to visit and have lunch or dinner and the service was top notch!

My first trip to KY Castle. We went as a Valentine's date for dinner at Castle Farms. I ordered off the Valentine's menu featuring 4 course meal for $75. I actually enjoyed all courses but the timing between courses was way too long. They weren't very busy when we started so I'm not sure why. Food overall was good but not fantastic. The dining room was not as lavish as I expected either. I did enjoy looking around and the bar area. Bartender was fabulous, our wine and drinks were great.

This themed restaurant offers a unique dining experience, reminiscent of a castle. While the Food is pricey considering the quality and flavor; it falls below the average range for this kind of place. Additionally, the restaurant requires some maintenance and thorough cleaning. Despite these issues, it remains an intriguing place to visit.

My husband and I went for a late anniversary dinner. The experience of being at a castle was everything I expected it to be. The grounds and the decor on the inside were spectacular. It truly is a breathtaking place. With that being said, let me say the dining experience wasn’t up to par. Our waitress was nice, but wasn’t as attentive as she should have been. We sat with empty glasses, during the majority of our dining time. She did apologize for this towards the end. The bread board was wonderful, the presentation of the entrees and sides were great, but they tasted terrible. We definitely left disappointed. I had the local beef filet it was charred on the outside more than it should’ve been. Our macaroni and cheese side was cold and tasteless. I was really hoping that the food and service would’ve matched the rest of the experience. If you’re going to offer upscale dining then it needs to be just that. We paid well over $100 for our meal and it should’ve been one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten, but sadly it was one of the worst.

A

While the food is lightly excellent if not over priced, the decor is a bit confusing, and the service could use a top up on training. Let's start with the decor. The room we dined in looked like a confused take on Northern Scandinavian euro trash mixed with refined Brittish architecture. If the interior designer was trying to be inspired by the chefs cuisine, he severely missed the mark. The center peices were also a bit odd given that they looked like dollar store diys. We especially loved the dirty pot we had the unfortunate pleasure to dine next to. Next let's discuss the staff. The staff was very sweet and kind through the mix ups. Blaire and Jenna were particularly endearing. The chef should spend time teaching the servers about the dishes and how to annunciate the items; gouda for example was a word that gave some trouble. It also became painfully obvious that the kitchen staff was not being kind to the service staff; because we could hear them...awkward. The front of house manager should be more responsible for what the resturant lacks here; and after looking trough the other reviews this is a continuing issue. An issue that can be easily fixed. Also, hire a bus boy. At the prices that are charged they should have a member of staff bussing tables, and another team member ensuring that the water glasses are full. These are reasonable expectations for a resturant that charges the prices that The Castle Resturant does. There are reaturants 15 minutes away that charge the same prices that offer 10 times better service. Please, for your community and your local economy OWNERS AND CHEF MAKE A CHANGE, do better. Finally the food! Yay! Portions were perfect, flavors were nice. The food procurement is probably the best part about this resturant. The chef has inddedly done an excellent job befriending his local farmers. The best thing by far was the honeycomb. We ended up buying 2 additional things of the honeycomb just to take home we enjoyed it so much. Bravo apairist!! The cocktails are a not exactly complimentary to the food and the inspiration from the chef and bar was lost on us. What region inspires the food? We would come back, after improvements on food timing and staff have been made and these are easy fixes with a little education.

E
Emily Mcneil

Everyone was very nice but the food really needs some assistance. Just wasn’t worth waiting for and strange options they wont let you substitute. If it was done well it would be delicious but sadly i could have played ping pong with my gnocchi.

J
Jason Murray

The restaurant it's self is very nice and the service was excellent. However, the food is just so so and for the prices it is definitely not worth it. Everything we had was bland and needed salt and/ seasoning. Steak was over cooked and chicken was dry, plating was terrible. I really tried to like it as I said the place is really nice, just came up short on the food quality.

Lunch on a Monday. Ordered the burger MEDIUM, came out extra well, with a well stick in it. The smoked bacon on it was dry as could be and crumbled with each bite. Fries are out of a bag, which is sad. Butternut squash bisque flavor was great, temp was luke warm. Our server TJ was great, perhaps should have noticed the well stick. We were over it by then. "Farmhouse Burger Local ½ lb. Ground Beef Patty, Broadbent Smoked Bacon, Tillamook Cheddar, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle, Onion. Fries. 20" "Butternut Squash Bisque Sage Cream. Toasted Pepitas. 12"

Disappointing experience and meal tonight. Two of us had the Lexington Restaurant Special and one ordered from the main menu. We were told no substitutions on either menu when we asked if we could swap the fingerling potatoes for mashed potatoes with the Waygu steak. Now they had no problem adjusting the menu when it fit them. No vinaigrette on the salad from the Lexington Restaurant Week Menu, just a little balsamic glaze. Fried chicken and mashed potatoes was pure salt, no real flavor. Dessert again was not per the menu. It was your average breakfast biscuit, old and stale with some lemon curd whipped cream and a few sliced strawberries. No blueberries and no shortcake. Waygu steak was average quality. Service was slow but the waiter did say they were short staffed towards the end of the meal. Overall, prices are way too high for the quality of food served and service doesn’t line up with 5 star restaurant prices. Glad we went during restaurant week as we would have been more disappointed if we had paid the everyday price for our meal. Of course this is why we go during restaurant week. We learn quickly which restaurants to visit again and which not to. Unfortunately, this will not be on the visit again list.

My husband reserved a tour and a restaurant visit for my birthday, and he even wrote in the comments that we needed a birthday cake. Unfortunately, nothing special was prepared for the occasion—not even a simple birthday card. We ordered two fried chicken meals, but they brought only one and said they “thought we wanted just one.” I ended up eating first, and my husband’s lunch arrived 15 minutes later, so we couldn’t even eat together. He was also waiting for the birthday cake, but they hadn’t prepared anything. Instead, they simply asked us if we wanted any dessert. We paid almost $200, but nothing special was done for my birthday. Although the place is beautiful with unique architecture, I cannot recommend it because they clearly do not care about customer experience

We went to the castle at 5:00 pm. Looked like there were many open tables. Beautiful castle. I asked the woman at the front if there was by chance an opening for dinner. She said they were fully booked. Then another younger hostess came up front and said a party of 4 in the bar decided not to eat. The woman scowled at her and then looked at us and said “ maybe we could fit you in at 6/6:30. Very uninviting. I feel like we were profiled “ not fit to eat there” as we were in jeans and flannel. Dress code on line said there was none. We walked around the castle and saw the resturant was practically empty! We felt very unwelcome and left:

The food was not great not to mention overpriced. I ordered a medium steak and it was not cooked correctly. It took them 3 times to get medium. The first time It came out was completely rare and the second time was a little better but still not great. The portion sizes are not worth the money. It was barely a 6oz steak with 3 unseasoned shrimp and spinach artichoke for $79. Completely ridiculous.

A

I heard this place was purchased. We will not be returning. Prices were very high for very small portions of undesirable food. The Braised Short Rib came on the strangest Bleu Cheese Risotto that destroyed any flavor that might have been hinted in the Rib (singular). The Pork Roast was 60% fat that was inedible. We're returning home to make Hot Pockets after spending exorbitant amounts of money on a meal that should have met the price expectations.
