UPDATE: Still Delicious 12/6/23 Delicious! They were super busy, the place was full. The service is great, they just need a bit more help cause they are so busy. You sit down and they will come take your order. A lot of ppl were lining up at the register to order so it was a bit confusing and creating a back up at the register. The food is so so so delicious! Best orange chicken we have ever had. Wontons were crunchy and delicious. We also had the beef spicy soup which wasn't spicy at all and I appreciate that since I shared with the kids and they do have chili sauce at the table so you can add your own spice. We also had the salt and pepper wings also crunchy and perfect. Keep in mind that the portions are huge. Ment to be shared really. Our new favorite place to eat. Please be patient they are trying their best and I'm sure will work out the kinks as time goes by.
I've been looking for a really good Chinese restaurant for years, this one is wonderful. Ive been to China twice and tasted food in all the regions. This restaurant satisfies my longing for authentic food. Menu is extensive. Portions are large. Each dish perfectly cooked. Pork soup dumplings burst iwith delicious flavor and melted in my mouth. Sweet and sour pork ribs were very good too. But be careful of little bones. We left with enough food for another meal. Prices very reasonable. I look forward to returning often and taking friends.
The first bite had me hooked. I mean, I immediately started thinking of everyone I wanted to bring back. My group had the scallion pancakes, the pork fried buns, the pork and green onion buns, and, the star of the show, the pork soup dumplings. The scallion pancakes had a crispy flakiness that promised a future addiction. Each of the steamed buns were so soft and full of the rich pork filling. But, oh my goodness, if I could have the soup from the pork soup dumplings injected into my veins.. I wouldn't hesitate. Finding this establishment brought me immeasurable joy.
I get why certain reviews are low, but it's because people have to remember this is an authentic dumpling house. So you're also gonna get the culture. But to be fair, they have such great customer service every time I have been there. There was once where one of the waiter was a bit overpowering, but I know he didn't mean to. The food is such a great portion for the price!
Had my first meal at Joyee Dumpling House in Vista and it was easily the best meal I'd had in a long time! We tried mostly beef dishes and they were all delicious. The star of the show for me were the garlic green beans. The staff were friendly and we didn't have to wait long to be served or seated. We must have been lucky because it got busier after we arrived. I can't wait to go back for another meal! Thank you Joyee Dumpling house!
Popped into Joyee Dumpling House at random for lunch. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious and the wait staff were very attentive and kind. Portions were pretty generous. Stand out dish for my husband and I was the Schezwan eggplant dish. It was delicious!! The waitress recommended the leftovers over rice or with noodles, which I absolutely will be doing.
Super cute wall decorations, really really nice servers who even say bye when you’re leaving, loves it! The food was good. My favorite food is broccoli. And I am not kidding you when I say this broccoli beef was the best I’ve ever had in my life. Also, try their Peach sparkling water, it’s so yum!
Yes OC must have the best dumplings and dim sum but this place is legit. The quality is really good and delicious. Service is magnificent the two ladies that served us are really great and professional. The place is very lax and chill. The only complaint that I have with the food is the lack of selection. I wish they had more selection of dim sum such as stuffed fried sticky rice balls and seaweed rolls. Another factor why I like this place is the price. It's very fair for the mass population.
Love this place! We went two times in a week because we couldn’t get enough. We went on the Saturday during opening week and it was packed. Even with it being so busy, we had a great time and the food was incredible. The staff is super friendly and service is amazing. Food always arrives piping hot! Try the corn and chicken dumplings and the chow mein (any variety), it won’t dissapoint (though nothing on the menu will!)
Good food and staff, google says 9 but they close at 0830, last call for food should be like 0800 max so yall can eat and they can close on time! My bad I went off of google for closing time, and then seen the actual sign outside the restaurant.
The best! Whenever we are in town, we come here. Food is authentic and full of flavor... So many different flavors! I don't agree with some of the other reviews about greasy food and bad service. Joyee dumpling has delicious food and very fast service. The food comes to the table sooo hot, right off the stove. The portions are huge!
The portions were MASSIVE and the food was delicious!! We racked up quite the bill but we definitely over ordered not expecting such big portions. Their soup dumplings were amazing, and so was the fried rice!! We also got the squid skewers which were very good and the soybean paste noodles as well as the cream cheese wontons!
The menu has a lot of variety and you orders items a la cart style. The portions are big enough to share so if you go with a group you can easily feast family style together. Some of my games are the crunchy shrimp balls and the soup dumplings.
I love this little place. First time here and fell in love with all the dishes we ordered. The boiled fish soup and brisket soup were my favorites. Don’t forget to try their delicious walnut buns. So warm and creamy, I love the dough. Service was fast and friendly. Our server put all the food away for us when we couldn’t finish. Really enjoyed my time dining here. It’s the service that I love. Of course delicious food too. Definitely coming back next time Im in town.
This is my new favorite place for authentic Chinese/Taiwanese food. Portions are huge and food is fantastic. The place gives you Taiwanese street food vibes in a restaurant setting. Beautifully decorated place. Food comes fast and in random order, that is how you know the place is an authentic Asian restaurant.
Delicious food, HUGE portions - worth the price, clean restaurant, and nice service. Definitely worth coming back!
Absolutely LOVE this place. We've been there several times since opening and their service is getting better. They're still nee to the area and as all new businesses go, have kinks to smooth out. But they are ALWAYS super friendly and helpful with whatever questions you may have about the food. Our favorites are the pork/shrimp dumplings. The soup Dumplings are soooo good. We always pair them with their fired rice and it's to right combo. We also enjoy their chow options! Our next attempt is the buns as they have a good selection to try. A heads up, everything is meant to be shared as portions are big. So keep that in kind when ordering food.
Food is real Chinese not Panda Express 🤣. Service is EXCELLENT because the people in there are super nice. Atmosphere is areally cute set up inside, but noise level inside is moderate because it's completely open. It's a small store front 95% sure mom and pop. The hot tea is so good if you like floral. Highly recommend!
Everything was absolutely delicious! My mom and I ordered the mapo tofu, the Xiao long bao, the cha siu bao, and the bok choy with garlic. The restaurant is really pretty and clean, and they have lovely decorations. The staff was so nice and our waitress gave excellent recommendations and explained the dishes we were curious about. Fair warning, the portions were HUGE and we weren't able to finish most of it. If you love good food and lots of leftovers, this is the place for you!!
They got us seated and served our food within 5 minutes! It was incredible. Great dumplings, chow mein, and cucumber salad! The atmosphere is cute and friendly, very peaceful and quiet inside. Open and spacious.
Food was very tasty, servers were very nice and the place is really cool, a lot of lights and cool stuff decorations over the place. Food quality was very good and the prices are not bad.

Food is always fresh and on point. Always good flavor, great portion sizes. Whenever I order, my family is able to eat for 2 to 3 days. I am a huge lover of Dan Dan noodles and theirs is always amazing... Whether dine in, or take away. Very good variety of choices and we'll with the prices.
This is the best Chinese restaurant in this area. Very true Chinese cuisine. I love the 鱼香肉丝, and some other dishes. The price is affordable compared with other places. The fried dumplings is my son’s favorite. He asked for two. I recommend it.

This place has fantastic dumplings. I haven't tried anything else here yet because I am fixated on the pork and shrimp dumplings. So good. Really good.
I got catfished by the website photos 🤦♂️ Look I don’t want to bash a restaurant, hence why I’m still giving 4 stars… and let’s be honest, even mediocre dumplings are still better than most food options out there. But there’s a lot of room for improvement so I’ll keep things honest and maybe someone will care enough to use the feedback. Let’s start with the good stuff… the garlic green beans were why far the best part of the meal. Huge portion, cooked perfectly, and stole the show. Overall, very reasonable prices but if day charge more and increase quality and freshness of the food. Maybe it’s just not the best area to increase prices so I get it. I went to this spot for the duck… but it looked nothing like the website photo. No crisp and mostly bone… just go with something else because duck isn’t this spots strong suit. I’m 99% sure the Xiao Long Bao were straight outa the frozen goods aisle at Costco. Rule of thumb for the future… if a dumpling spot isn’t making the dumplings out in the open, just find a new spot or don’t order dumplings. Now I gotta say, they over delivered on the potion size of the shrimp fried rice portion but not many shrimp to be found in the pile of rice. Overall, good spot if you’re high as a kite and looking for some affordable and big portion sizes to kill your Asian food craving. But if you’re looking for some fresh dumplings, you’ll find a better option 8 miles away over in San Marcos.
The Scallion Pancakes were delicious. The Wontons in Spicy Oil were alright. The oil visually appeared spicy, but did not taste spicy. The wonton wrappers were chewy in some areas. The Chicken Chow Mein was okay. I didn’t think it had much flavor and was a bit oily. The Pork Wonton Soup was okay. Again, not much flavor. Overall, overall was just okay. Except the Scallion Pancakes. We wanted a second order of those.
Food was delicious, service was a tad slow but not terribly so, prices also weren't bad. Will be going again.
We overordered and it was awesome!! We didn’t get the xiaolongbao so this review has nothing to do with those! Our fave orders were the sweet and sour pork, the lions head meatballs, and the mapo tofu. I could’ve done without the shengjianbao since they didn’t have soup in them like I’d suspect, and the beef roll, which had this roast beef like meat, sort of reminding me of a sub from subway :D lol. In the middle were the jajiangmian (lovely bouncy noodles!) and the Siumai (slightly overly chewy filling) But I’d definitely come back to try more dishes :) So much to choose from!! Great service.
The food here is amazing! Its definately 10/10 for me, the fried rice is very balance in flavor and the meat are cooked wonderfully and tender The reason why I give it a 4 star is because their lack of variety in the menu like beverages and included side dishes with the entree’s The portion amount is huge! Per entree’s it is good for 2-3 people. The steam rice is separate cost. There is no combo with any of the entrees, no lunch special as well. I just wish they have more of a variety, eating one thing gets tiring. I wish i had chow mein on the side or a complimentary soup or salad to reset my palette. It builds up on the cost if you wanna order these items separately. The people are friendly and accommodating! Also in terms of sauces they are limited, no hoisin sauce for the scallion pancake, normally they go together. I recommend bringing a packet of your own because their scallion pancake is on point!

It's alright. The soup dumplings didn't have much (if any) soup, but the steamed dumplings were pretty ok. Don't sit in the back left corner unless you like being cold. The AC blasts at you there.
I am not sure if ownership has changed but the food quality forsure has. They’ve shortened the menu. The Chow mein is now made with spaghetti looking noddles and doesn’t taste the same. The chili wontons has a slight plastic taste. This was our go to spot but I don’t think we will be going back 😕
If you are reading food reviews to find good fresh food, this is probably not the place for you. Although the food all tasted fine, my strong impression is that their dumplings were probably purchased frozen with relatively low quality fillings. The three types of dumplings we tried all lacked the big rich flavors and delicate textures that well-made, fresh dumplings can have. The best of the dishes was the wok fried string beans which was well-made, fresh to order, and was cooked excellently.

Pork fried rice was delicious. There was so much if it, of course we had leftovers. I enjoyed it the second day, unfortunately my gut did not. It seemed like food poisoning. It was delivered.
Walked to get some lunch for my family. Place looked nice, staff was nice. Ordered chicken chow mein and rice noodle with beef. When I got home, order was mostly vegan- hardly any noticeable meat. Very greasy, tasted like it was old! My husband and I got very sick with nausea and indigestion within an out of eating it. Seems like food safety is not important to them.

Service was not good. Was told were to sit and no one came over to our table. Two families came in after us and received menu’s. I had to get up and get my own. They both ordered before us and received drinks while we still waited. Eventually, they come over and took our orders and we received our drinks. It seemed like they were more concerned with the takeout orders than people eating indoors.

Bad customer service to start off. The lady seem like very stress. No greetings. No eye contact. I had to ask for sauces. I felt pressured It was my first time here. I will never come back. The food has no flavor. She had an attitude Bad vibe. She seem overworked. I order the combination noodles, not enough protein. ;(. I wanted sit in a sit I wanted where the sun will not hit me. So I decided to go instead. she told me right away it was reserved. Do not come here !!!
The food was decent and the flavor was acceptable, but the service was completely unacceptable. Throughout our entire visit, the server was wearing AirPods and barely responded when we tried to get their attention. It was frustrating. What’s worse and completely unacceptable, is that after we left a standard tip (not low, just normal), we later discovered that the restaurant illegally added extra tip charges to our credit card without our consent. This is a blatant violation of trust and extremely dishonest behavior. I feel deeply offended and scammed by this kind of action. I consider it’s fraudulent.I strongly advise others to check their statements carefully if you choose to eat here.
The cashier charged an extra tip without any notice or authorization!! I had lunch at this restaurant when it was not busy—only three tables were occupied. During the meal, I tried to get the waiter’s attention to order more food. I waved and called out to him several times, but he was wearing headphones and never looked up to check if any customers needed assistance. There was absolutely no service—I had to walk to the cashier’s counter just to speak with him. Because of the poor service, I decided not to leave an 18% tip, but I still left a reasonable 15-16% tip. To my surprise, I later found out that the cashier charged me more tip without informing me! I’ve attached both the receipt and my credit card statement as proof. It’s not about the few extra dollars—it’s about the dishonesty and fraudulent behavior. Given the lack of service and the unauthorized charge, I’m extremely upset. This is a very untrustworthy place. I’m sharing my experience so others won’t fall into the same trap.
Great food. Terrible to go service. Over 1 hr and a half wait . Brutal and sooooooo frustrating
If you do order pick up through their app, they DO NOT notify you when food is ready. ETA was 40 minutes for the food to be ready, so I waited 40 minutes expecting to recieve a notification. Nope, I arrive and my, plus 4 or 5 other orders are waiting bagged up on the counter. The food was really gross due to this. Why take down phone number and email at order entry if you dont bother using it to notify customers? Really disappointed, especially for the near $60 price tag.
My wife and I have eaten at this restaurant a few times with our family and have enjoyed it before. Today we went and my wife ordered beef hot pot. When our food arrived the dish looked different but we assumed it was correct. My wife did not like the dish and kept commenting that it didn’t taste like the last time. When our bill came it was clear they gave her the wrong meal. The meal they served her was spicy boiled beef. We made them aware and they said they couldn’t do anything about it as we had already eaten out of it. Needless to say this has negatively affected our overall experience.

Ordered spicy crispy chicken for take out. Dry crunchy chicken I think, not sure. It was the worst dish I could imagine. Rice wouldn’t help. Water maybe. I’ve tried to take a photo but no luck. The interesting part is I like Joyee. But why this is on a menu, I can’t imagine. Asked for hot mustard. They never heard of it. Last month they had it. Tonight, since they hadn’t heard of hot mustard I requested spicy oil, at their suggestion. They never included it . I truly wish I could photograph this dish, but for what ever the reason a no go. Picture little pieces of fried chicken and an almost equal amount of chopped chili peppers! Be careful what you order. There menu isn’t much help as are some of their employees.
First time I came here the soup dumplings were not good at all and had no soup for something called a soup dumpling. Second time got a take out order of dan dan noodles and me and my bf got food poisoning from it. Safe to say will not be eating here again.
