Amazing! Staff was attentive and on point. Food was delicious and so was the coconut pie martini. Great prices! No complaints whatsoever. I highly recommend this place!
Amazing. Staff was super attentive and the food was excellent. Every part about this experience was extraordinary. I highly recommend stopping here. Prices are moderate and the place is huge. Although it's always packed you shouldn't have trouble finding a table.
Usually when I come here, I sit at the bar if I can grab a spot. The bartenders are friendly and right on top of your next beverage. The food is always on point, their wings are the best.
My wife and I have came here about 10-15 times over the past year. Every time we’ve came here we got different things on there Menu. All in all the vegetables are fresh chicken wings are cooked just enough where they’re crispy and still juicy. Seafood always came out tasting fresh perfectly cooked, there cooks know what they are doing as well as the bartenders. This is our go too when we don’t wanna cook and it’s great!
Even when busy, I'm seated pretty quickly. The food is great but when compared to the price, it's unbelievable! I never have a complaint when leaving Phils aside from needing a nap!
This is THE go to local place. Great atmosphere. Great people who work at Phil's. Just a great friendly local vibe. It helps when the food is good to. The wings are historic and you can find nice health options too. Steak specials and burgers are worth it and always ask if they have the peanut butter pie. Can't get much closer to a Cheers than this.
Definitely tastes like home cooked meals! The food is tasty and hot. The desserts are scrumptious! Also, the menu offers dishes even the most finicky eater in the family. The staff is personable and ready to make your dining experience a positive one.
By far the BEST all around restaurant and bar on Long Island. Amazing wings, burgers, steak, sandwiches. Been going for years and everything I’ve ever eaten there has been perfect. This is a place you can hang out at the bar and watch the game or sit at a table with your family and have the most amazing lunch or dinner. Unlike most restaurant/sports bars, Phil’s somehow manages to keep both aspects separate. They have a huge bar with tons of TVs, as well as 2 separate, quiet dining rooms if you’re just there for a nice meal. By far the best place to go no matter your style.
Yummmmalicous! Go with the hot wings.. they are baked, not fried. Ask for well done. Their blue cheese is delish. Also, you must get their sweet potato fries.. they come with this dipping sauce that will have your taste buds thirsting for more. 🫦 You will not be able to stop dipping and eating until u find your Lil tongue wrestling with that 4 ounce cup to lick out every last drop of it. Lol 😆 sounds funny.. but I'm telling you what's up. You'll see.
Phil's is a local legend. Great drinks, great staff, great food! The bartenders are all awesome and remember the regulars. The atmosphere is always lively and family friendly. Lots of space for gatherings too!
I love the atmosphere at Phil's and that has not changed since the pandemic. The food is still just as good, the staff just as friendly. I got the cajun chicken sandwich (no roll), just lettuce and pickles, only downside, upcharge for lettuce and tomatoes (I didn't want tomatoes). There was nothing on the sandwich but the chicken and I didn't want the side *no fries, mac or potato salad, it was only a dollar so it was okay but since I didn't get all the other items, lettuce could've been included?
Phil's consistently has great food, great service, and a comfortable ambiance. I've been there for many lunches with my friends and their salads are huge and delicious, their sandwiches are always great and I loved the French Onion soup as well. I always recommend Phils!
Very nice environment and comfortable dining. Food was good and server was professional and courteous. Prices will not bankrupt you like other places where you get no value for your hard earned money. It was my first time there and looking forward to visiting again.
An institution. Very good food prepared correctly. Friendly atmosphere and staff is pleasant and helpful. If you like to have a burger and a beverage while watching the game this is the place for you. If you would rather sit in a nice dining room and eat this is also the place for you. Good joint!
I did not eat here tonight, but the live entertainment from DNA was amazing. The vibe of the restaurant/bar was awesome. Bartenders were very friendly!! My two drinks, bourbon and lemonades, were $12.75 each.
The wings and calamari are must have apps! Their smothered burger is a party in your mouth!! I went for the first time with a friend who recommended the place. He was not exaggerating when he sang it's praises on the way there. THIS PLACE IS A HOME RUN!!!
I had the pot roast with red cabbage and potatoe pancake,it was excellent!
Bar was great. Nice atmosphere. Bartenders were quick and courteous. Food was good. Service was fast. I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap I liked it but didn't love it. French onion soup was great. Pretzel appetizer was very good also. Great pumpkin ale. Would definitely go again.
Always great ! Great good wings are the best, the French onion soup is incredible. Service always good. Happy hour prices are great. Run fast for their wings
This is a nice little place set back a bit. Got to look to see it, food was great and had singers the night I was there. Definitely will be back
Very good staff and bar atmosphere. Wings are great but can vary in spice, I'm guessing by who's preparing food but always great anyway. Soups are ok. Burgers were prepared perfect and juicy(I prefer a regular bun they use seeded rolls) unless I ordered wrong. Overall an awesome spot.
We've been patronizing Phil's since the 90s. The staff back then & through the early 2000s was THE BEST (shout out to Liz, Karen & their crew). After their time there, our meals became less personal & just another restaurant - UNTIL NOW - Summer, is like the old school vibe of Phil's. She was personable, funny and made our visit just as fun as back-in-the-day. The food is always on point, consistent quality.
Went for the first time at the recommendation of a friend. The food was tasty, hot and came out quickly. The waitress was pleasant and attentive and the atmosphere was good. A few different items (the perogies were excellent) and good portions. Definitely worth a visit.
What a great place. We stopped for a late lunch on Labor Day and had a great experience. The food (French Dip and wings) were delicious and our server Paige was excellent. Overall a great casual spot with great food.
Phil's was pretty nice. It's a decent sized place, the food was great. The waitress was forgetful,to the point she even forgot a whole order of ours. The kitchen had to rush making it so it wasn't exactly what we ordered but didn't want to send it back. Other little things were forgotten and had to be reminded of. The place wasn't too busy but maybe she was new. I understand being frazzled so it's no biggie. I will come back again and you should as well is worth a try like I said the food was very good.
Well worth the drive to this local favorite. The specials are top notch. Steamed clams and loaf of bread were off the charts. Wings came highly recommended and didn’t disappoint. Beer selection was satisfying and cocktails were on spot on. Multiple TVs to watch all the games. Service was great. They have bands on Friday or Saturday nights. We will returning. Phil’s has been around for 33 years. Now I know why.
the grilled tuna blt on the specials menu is AMAZING!! i truly want to send my congratulations to the chefs for simply the most spectacular meal i could have had after working a 7 hour shift☺️🫶🏽 much love to all the wonderful people that work there
Restaurant was busy. Waiters were spot on with customer service. Food was delicious!
Great portion sizes, easy going atmosphere and the staff were friendly.
Coming here for seven or eight years good food great service. It’s a great place to go.
Excellent food at this family Friendly restaurant. The menu has so many options you would be surprised! From Italian, to steaks or seafood there is literally something for everyone. They also have the typical Pub Style burgers and appetizers which are also excellent. They also have many different beers on tap including Paulaner Hefeweizen! Give Phil's a try, you will not be disappointed!
The food is absolutely amazing……service not great. Some servers who don’t know how to handle a table ruin it
Consistently good food. Place is always busy. Recommend the marinated burger.
Very good food and service. Busy restaurant and bar but you could still hear yourself talk
Small but cozy. Ideal for sports fans who wanna sit around the bar and chug a lug while watching sports tv. Menu was more upscale than your average pub, but worth every penny. Waitress was Amazing!!! Very on top and receptive to a party of 11's needs. Didn't miss a beat. Highly recommended
Great Atmosphere. Reminded me of the inside of a vintage boat. Huge bar, great drinks. Famous for the wings. They are great. I recommend the Chicken breast sandwich ..Giant Sandwich peppers and onions melted cheddar 😋 on a club roll. My friend had a burger 🍔 it's was fantastic. I met a friend who lives out that way. I might make the 55 Mile drive from the bronx to dine their again. I recommend if you haven't eaten there make it a point to stop in. We had lunch. Breakfast and dinner also served. Point to notice Restaurant super clean along with restrooms. Service super. Heather was 👍
Phil's is a fantastic sports bar set back off the road in Wading River + oh what a pleasant surprise! Steamers on jalapeno broth -omg! Mussels, fish tacos, burgers, fish sandwiches. Everything perfect. A million wide screens showing your favorite games. But all that doesn't hold a candle to the wait staff + service. Give Trevor a raise ... immediately! Guy is so organized, so professional, incredibly friendly + a total pro. Made us feel like royalty. Just a great stop. Bravo!
This place is a staple it's been around for many years and has a devoted customer base. Consistently solid food quality. Great place to grab a few drinks and watch a game. Try the Cajun chicken sandwich.
Amazing food amazing service amazing people her a good time over all 10/10
I wanted to have some fried chicken becauseI I hadn't had it in so long. So I had some at Phil's and it was outstanding and their coleslaw reminded me of the coleslaw that I used to have at Good Steer! It was so good!
I ordered the smothered burger. It was cooked and specified which was medium rare. The burger was juicy and flavorful. Our food came not too long after we ordered and everyone was served at the same time. We were a large party gathering after a funeral. The atmosphere was subdued and seating conducive to gathering together. The staff was friendly and met all of our needs. Everyone enjoyed their food and felt it was reasonably priced.
First time here. We had a great time. Service was great and the seafood was delicious. The only disappointment was the veggie burger. It wasn't' anything to write home about and the bread it was on had no taste. Not good when your partner is a vegetarian. We would try it again as I saw other veggie options.
Whether a local or a transient like me staying nearby at Wildwood State Park, Phil's is a must-stop when in Wading River. The Happy Hour menu has 4 different kind of sliders. The shellfish is fresh. The steaks cooked perfectly. Very attentive staff, and plenty of them. I stopped counting at 8 staff members on a Tuesday night. We'll be back tonight!
Had lunch here about 2pm on a Saturday, party of four. Was seated right away. ordered sandwiches, burger and a wrap. All were super tasty. Was really nice to see a gluten free bread option. One free refill for sodas, which you love to see. Would def go back, tons of items on the menu looked good. Tons of TVs on showing sports as well as some weird gamble lottery thing
These dudes take fried pickles to a new level. I know that’s an odd intro but they’ve got the crunchiest, lights pickles I’ve ever tried (and I’ve tried a lot of fried pickles). French onion soup was superb, wings with crunch and well sauce and portions were huge. The best part is prices were very reasonable. Would go back again in a heart beat
Burger and ruben sandwich were great, chicken sandwich a bit dry and just ok. Although busy, service was excellent. Prices seem to be a little higher than I'd like to pay, but I guess all restaurant prices are up. Coffee was excellent.
This is a fun place. We've biked there for breakfast, had lunch and dinner at different times. The food is very good and very fresh. This is not fine dining. A very good local place we all like.
The wings are signature and they are phenomenal. However, the burgers are on regular buttered roll rolls a bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll not a bun a nice brioche would be better choice
Very good quality food. Not very large portions. Fast and friendly service. Nice atmosphere. No bread or anything to snack on while waiting for dinner to come out.
Haven't visited in a few years but as in past, excellent. Only had wings but very good. Bartender was very attentive when beer was needed . Look forward to next visit.
Lovely experience — calm, comfortable, and very well organized.
The service was really amazing. The food was good, but there were a lot of fried foods on the menu. I wish there were a lot more healthier and fresh items to choose from. The place was packed, but the kitchen and the servers kept things moving at a good pace.
Ordered a chicken caesar wrap, it was OK, soggy on the bottom, and the dressing was on the side, so it was dry with little flavor. The friends we were with got burgers and said they were very good. Service was great, and atmosphere was good. I would go back.
This was a nice place to stop for a late lunch after a drive east. Staff was friendly. The only complaint is that the happy hour drinks are very limited to what's listed on the specials' menu. We did ask when we first arrived if happy hour applied to sitting at a table, and the bartender said yes, but did not specify only the drinks on the menu. Also, the waitress was very nice but did not come over and ask how everything was mid-meal; only after we were finished. Still left 20% though, bc she and the entire staff were very pleasant. Food was good.
Orderee the turkey club sandwich and lobster bisque. The bisque was disappointing. Almost no evidence of any lobster. The club sandwich, onion rings, and pickles were good, but make certain u specify mayo or some dressing. It was a bit dry. My wife's baked clams were also dense... very heavy with a lot of bread crumbs. Although this may all sound somewhat unfavorable, the service and overall dining experience has always been very good and we continue to come back.
Updated comments below 5/13/21...Ok, nothing that's going to make you choose this place over another. Similar to a Miller's ale house but older. Beef fajita was prepared well but not authentic, served barely warm, not sizzling. No amount of hot sauce could replace the spices that were lacking during preparation. Friend got a basic burger, again ok but nothing that would make you seek this place out. 5/13/21 Not sure what happened here but this is the wrong review for this place. This is a review for a bar/restaurant I wrote years ago. The meal I had at this place was very enjoyable. I'll try to reattach photos.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the food is insanely overpriced. I got a surf and turf, lobster was okay.. my “filet mignon” was awful. Could barely cut it, I had asked for medium. The outside was completely charcoaled and was completely raw on the inside. Had to send it back twice because it came back raw and bloody each time. Was absolutely disgusted.. won’t be back again
We were looking forward to eating here after visiting calverton. The food was good, service was good until it got busier. The worst part of the visit was the flies! Easily 15 flies swarming our table the entire time. They were on the windows, above us on the light fixtures and on the rafters. It made for a very uncomfortable dining experience. When the waiter asked if all was well I said everything was great except for the flies and pointed them out. He didn't acknowledge my response, apologize, or even offer to move our table. It was very unfortunate to have traveled so far to visit with family to have such an experience at this establishment
I was here with a group of 9. The wait staff were great, friendly and accommodating. Beer was good and fried appetizers were what you expect at a bar. I ordered the pasta special of the day - bowties, shrimp, and mushrooms in a rosa cream sauce. This dish was awful unfortunately. I honestly should’ve sent it back but I didn’t want to cause the trouble. It was watery and not creamy whatsoever. There was no tinge of tomato sauce rosa color at all. I’m not sure how it got messed up but it was such a poor dish. Phil’s is a great neighborhood friendly bar supporting the community, but this recent visit was a bit disappointing.
I had chicken wings, which tasted like leftover wings that were thrown under the broiler. They were dry and tasteless. My partner enjoyed her dish.
The hostesses are very friendly and polite. Unfortunately, the food was not very good. The lobster bisque soup tasted like it was a store brand that came from a can. The fried shrimp were burnt and only came with 5 shrimp. The fries were also overcooked. The chicken dish was very bland and the brown sauce tasted like it had been thinned out. 3 times we requested a refill on our diet cokes, but didn't get one. Only when we gave up on trying to eat our meals and requested the check, did our sodas arrive. It appears to be a good place to go for the bar, but definitely not for a good dining experience.
Ordered take out twice. Everyone says the wings are “Long Islands best” I think people need to get out more!
Food is for a mature, mid-western American & or British taste. Seasonings=none. Service was surprisingly lacking , considering the elderly clientele. Seating customers at the kitchen area should only be when no other tables are available. I asked to move, and 30mins later, hostess, sat 2 elderly couples right in front of kitchen. Not busy, many young servers, but not attentive at all. Atmosphere was filled with relentless, dive bombing flies. My family & I won't be back. Although when our Virginia family visits, the bland food will be to there liking.
Decided to stop in for an early dinner. The bar, a decent size, was in the center of the restaurant. The restaurant appeared clean. We noticed sufficient staff behind the bar as well as servers, which is quite rare, especially for a Tuesday evening. My husband ordered a cheeseburger with bacon and pastrami. He enjoyed the roll it was on, the pastrami was ample, and the burger was perfectly cooked. I ordered off the Daily Specials Menu, the Captain's Platter. It included baked clams, stuffed shrimp, stuffed filet, lobster tail, fries, and a vegetable (I chose to double the vegetables). The baked clams were decent, along with the filet and shrimp stuffing. The Lobster Tail was tender. Our server was friendly and provided good service, making sure we had drink refills. We enjoyed our overall experience.
No issues here just about preference. The ambience is a little plain and if you like sports bars then it's for you. The food was pretty decent. Buffalo wings were tasty just 2 things of note: 1) they add salt to them 2) they char them a little. I also had the French dip which was quite moist but not as salty which was surprising. The service was prompt and quick could have been a little more enthusiastic but not rude or anything. Quite blanch and formal.
I don’t understand how this restaurant got so many 4-5 star reviews. I liked the atmosphere and we were seated quickly on a Friday night, which was nice. The beer was good but that was about it. When we first walked in there was a bad fishy smell from the kitchen. I was looking forward to seafood but had to pass on that just because of the smell. I ordered the Chicken Zane; the chicken and sauce was super bland, the chicken was a weird texture, and the spinach and sun-dried tomatoes were soggy/overcooked. My boyfriend got the World Series Burger, also very bland. The Bavarian pretzel for an appetizer reminded me of the soft pretzels with cheese at the ice rink growing up, where the cheese was from a machine. We were disappointed and won’t be returning.
The food was "meh" one burger came without the top of the bun, any specialty requests (like a side of dressing) had to be requested multiple times, the plate had different cheese than stated on the menu, meat was dry. That being said my kids chicken fingers were great!
First time and last time to visit this establishment. The service and food were good UNTIL the busboy began clearing tables and spraying a glass cleaner with ammonia. Nothing like the potent chemical aroma seeping into your nose and mouth while you are eating. Soap and water would have worked just fine thank you very much. Lost my appetite and my comments on the subject as we left was taken so nonchalantly.
First time trying this restaurant. Waiter John V J had an attitude. He was slow and could care less about any of his customers. Poor service!!! Food: my husband and I enjoyed our dinners. Silverware was another story old dirty and sticky this is what our waiter bought to us. Glasses were not clean. Dessert my husband had the rice pudding he thought was ok, my lemon meringue pie was a frozen pie which was old and bad the meringue fell off the pie and the lemon had cracks on the whole top. While trying to locate our waiter to have him bring me something else that took awhile. Had Ice cream. A table behind us was seated and waited for 10 minutes no one came over to take there order they walked out!! Phil’s you really need new staff new silverware and clean up the place. You seem to be doing well but your going to start losing more and more customers. That’s if the health department doesn’t get to you first. As a first time customer I won’t be back.
Food was alright and basic, nothing to write home about. Lobster bisque had no lobster. Biggest complaint is that a small side order of coleslaw is $7!
Subpar chicken sandwich. Chicken was super dry and thin with a piece of lettuce on a roll...couldn't even serve with a tomato to add a little flavor. I Thought I would give up fries for a change and have macaroni salad. Bad choice ... It's a restaurant...how do you serve macaroni salad that you purchased (like the grocery stores) in some premade vat. Slimy all full of preservatives, so obviously not made at the restaurant. It was so disappointing. Never again.
Service was great, food not so. Ordered the marinated porterhouse, medium rare. The marinade taste was good, but the steak was tough. Hard to even cut with the steak knife. Steamed Vegetables were bland, no flavor. The mashed potatoes seemed like they were instant. Watery and no flavor. Not worth it for the money.
To be fair we only had burgers, fries, and onion rings. Including one drink and a soda cost 60.00. I made the mistake of going on a Sunday. The place was packed with loud drunk ppl by 2 PM. Even though we sat in the back it was still at scream level to talk. So if you're looking to get hammered and scream at each other you're good. The burgers were okay. Served on a Kaiser roll so there's so much extra bread. No lettuce, tomato or onion. Seems steep for 60.00. Toppings are extra.
the $18 shrimp boy came with three (3) pieces of shrimp on it… service was great- food was incredibly disappointing for that price point
Have eaten at Phil's in the past, it was always a good experience. Tried to reserve a table for a large family get together this holiday season. Was told they could not accommodate a table for 10 individuals and my best option was to show up and hope for the best. With older parents and young kids in our party I'm not looking to wait an hour for a table if I have the time to book in advance. It's unfortunate because I felt that this restaurant would be great for our family gathering. Guess I'll be looking elsewhere for a reservation.
The absolute worst baked clams I ever tasted. Shame on them for not tasting them. I had a seafood platter with fries. It was bland as could be.I dropped down a good piece of change and will never return. Need management.
Ordered the captains platter to split with my sister. We both took bites of the lobster and immediately spit it out. The taste of ammonia was horrendous. We even had the waiter smell the plate and he agreed. This dish was $36 and all management did was take off $9 for 1 lobster tail. The ammonia taste in my mouth completely ruined my meal even though the flounder and shrimp were ok. Baked clams were mushy. My son enjoyed the chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks. Veggies were nicely cooked. I think the restaurant should have offered to cover that dish. Oh, I also wanted to mention the flies. Annoying. And these flies were hovering over our plates like seagulls at the beach. I counted at least 4-5 resting on the ceiling beams and adjacent chairs. Gross. I can accept a fly or 2. But these flies were hovering over our table the whole time. Won't be eating there again.
Very disappointed in choosing this place for lunch. Was seated immediately, placed our order... only for our waitress to complain to a coworker about what we ordered. Took a while to get a very basic order of apps. Potato skins came out... 2 of them were partially burned (more like scorched) and I could barely get my dull knife though it. Asked for extra napkins and were begrudgingly given 2. Chicken skewers and rice was just ok. And then she complained to the same coworker that we shouldn't be asking for extra napkins. Would never recommend this place to anyone because the food was mediocre at best and the service was garbage. If you are going to talk about the people coming to eat there, maybe don't do it so that the people you are serving can hear you.
My friend and I order burgers, I had a cheese burger and fries. My friend ordered cheese burger with mushrooms and cheese. We both ask for Cole slaw with was additional price of 8.00 each for a side order!! Burgers were ok! We both also had water to drink! Bill was 51.00 ridiculous!! Cliffs in Riverhead doesn't even cost that much. And they are amazing burgers! Phil's is not our choice!
Normally an oustanding place to eat. On a football Sunday if you know the wait staff you do not have to wait to be seated. Waited 45 minutes, hostess told we were next to be seated and the waitress sat her friends first and by passed all the people waitimg for a table. When it was brought to the hostess attention she politely apologized and just said we had to wait. Very poor customer service experience.
Can I take your plate? We came here today for an early dinner with our kids. The food was mediocre at best. Our kids were complete angels coloring and waiting for their food. The amount of times we were asked "Can I take your plate?" was absurd! After waitressing myself for several years, this is not acceptable. Honestly more annoying then anything else. You can take our plate when we are done. Clearly there was food still on the table. We had to ask for a refill for water for the kids. All around a bad experience and won't be back. For the amount we paid and the poor service we provided we won't ever come back or recommend this restaurant to anyone. I can't believe management let's these "kids" get away with all of this for the amount of time they are on their phones hanging out at the bussing station is unreal.
Ordered filet mignon tidbits, medium rare. Got a “mixed bag” of some kind of steak. Two pieces were filet mignon, med rare, the rest were well done, tough and tasteless. Waitress did not check up to ask how meal was until we were almost finished. She offered something else, but I was already full from French fries. Told her the steak was not filet, she said it was, told her we were not happy with the meal and she came back with the check. Manager never came to the table. No adjustment to the check, and had a surcharge for using credit card and called it a discount to pay cash. That is not a discount when we paid menu prices.
