I entered Double O Grill with the courtesy of Isabella & Matt both where helpful with the menu. I have been a customer for many years up my take out I tried the Mac & Cheese Burger it was fantastic 👌
Not cheap but worth every bite. The favorite is the Sunday Morning Brunch. Which recently added a great novelty. The "Bloody Mary Bar". 3 types of spiced tomatoe bloody mary mix and a condiments bar. Everything from pretzels to shrimp and olives to jalapeños. O. The fluid side pickles juice to ghost pepper sause. $10 a glass but real fun while watching the 12:00 game.
I went here with some friends for dinner and had a great experience. Let's start with the staff. They were all wonderful, helpful people and that made everything that came after that much better. We started with drinks that were balanced in taste and potency. After they sat us down for dining we had a waitress who went over the menu with us and I had the Parmesian crusted chicken and it was perfectly cooked and flavorful. It was the right amount of crispy without being dry and placed on a bed of pasta that was filling. We ended the night with a few deserts and I couldn't decide which I liked more! Would recommend this place for families, friends or a fun date night.
Mouth-watering food and stiff drinks, both at very fair prices. Lovely, spacious facilities, including a ramp for those in wheelchairs. More than ample parking out front. Clean bathrooms. Two years after his historic run for NY Governor, the Dutchess County Libertarian Party hosted Larry Sharpe here on January 12, 2020.
Great food, great drinks, great service, great menu with plenty of selection, great atmosphere with nice lighting and fun music. The common denominator is Great! We will be back and will recommend to others.
I love this place - it's always fun, atmosphere is always great I do enjoy the menu too, there's something for everyone, comfort food, whatever you're in the mood for. I do love the lettuce wraps and buffalo cauliflower. Love the desserts too! Delicious drinks It's fun for parties too It can host large groups Brunch is fantastic
we love this restaurant, we've always experienced good fast service, it's large enough to feel safer and spaced out during covid social distancing, there's complimentary fresh bread served with a very addictive bruschetta style dip, a variety of menu items to choose from, the menu reminds me of the cheesecake factory with the variety, they serve good portions, i'm not a dessert person but i always get one to go because they are so good
This restaurant is a great place to be. The staff are always nice and respectful and really treat you like you belong. There is this amazing smell when you walk into the foyer. I really love it.
Came here to celebrate my wife's 40'th birthday. Had a reservation and came with a party of 15. Restaurant is large and was easily able to accommodate us. Food was fantastic and our server Brianna was the absolute best. She is energetic and just a lovely person. Couldn't ask for a better server for us. Food was hot, delicious, and quick! Kitchen staff is on point! Definitely recommend this establishment especially if your a large party looking for great food and drinks ♥️
Very unique dining atmosphere with pages of menu choices. They bring all diners their warm bread with tomato oil cheese topping and butter. Try their macaroni cheese balls or one of their decadent deserts. Also there is a warm and cozy bar area for cocktails. Great service and ample parking. You can also dine al fresco. It is always immaculately clean here.
Delicious food, great portions, and service that makes you feel right at home.
Went there for a rehearsal dinner. The food was so fresh and delicious. Quick service. The calamari was delicious and tomatoes n mozzarella tasted like they just picked them. There were no complaints at our table!!
Great food ! Great burger ! Specialty drinks were superb !
Amazing ambiance and delicious food as well. Will definitely go there again.
Everything on the menu is delicious! We went after the Mother's Day Buffet was over, and were seated outdoors within 20 minutes. Not long for it being exactly on Mother's Day. A couple of us went back on Father's Day, no wait, and again, the food was great!
We love the food and the atmosphere here. Large selection of food and desserts. The patio seating is great on a nice day. Very family friendly and reasonably priced. One of our go-to places
This place is beautiful! I literally gasped at how pretty the Christmas tree was today. The general decor is outstanding. Our server could not have been better! Outstanding customer service. The menu is so good it’s hard to choose. My son ordered the Mac and cheese topped hamburger and was absolutely delighted with it. He couldn’t stop raving about the Cole slaw ! I had a salad with grilled chicken , endive , pecans and cranberries. Absolutely delicious ! They serve fresh bread with a side of butter or bruschetta toppings. We have so many things we look forward to trying. This place has been in business since 1964. Third generation now! Pride in ownership shows! This place is my go to from now on! Skip all those chain places. This is where you want to eat!
Haven't had a bad meal yet always a pleasure eating with them
Great food and appropriate portion sizes. We sat in a booth which was nice with having 2 kids with us. Server was very amicable. Bathrooms were very clean. The desserts were huge and we split 2 between 6 people
My friend and I stopped for lunch that was delicious and a pleasant experience
This restaurant/grill is such a gem! Upon walking in you're greated in a friendly & welcoming manor. The atmosphere itself is warm, inviting, and trendy. Our server Casey(sp?) was a real treat! He was kind, attentive and on top of his game! Now I want to say the food was the best part but honestly the while dining experience was top notch 5 stars! We had Marconi and Cheese Balls, Fried Mozzarella, Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls, and Poutine Disco Fries. Every single item was cooked and presented to perfection! Finally the dessert I had the Creme Brule Duo and it was pure decadence. The prices are extremely reasonable considering the atmosphere and presentation as a whole. We will drive the hour and half to come back frequently because this place was by far one of the greatest places we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Very well done! Keep up the great work! Update came back 2/3/24 and everything was wonderful again!
Stop here today...we got a gift card for Christmas and thought I would use it... well... Merry Christmas to us! The restaurant was busy...we got seated right away...we looked over the menu ...and let me tell you it was hard to pick what to eat.. I ordered the fish tacos and wasn't disappointed! My husband ordered the porkchop..he too wasn't disappointed! The server, Pat was great! Making sure everything was good! Will certainly be back!
We enjoyed our lunch at Double O. They have a large menu and outdoor seating. We had the quesadilla appetizer and it was very good. My cheeseburger was delicious and the french fries were fantastic. The chicken sandwich and salad were also good. Our waitress, Pat, was excellent. She remembered all of our order, even special requests, without writing it down. She was attentive to our needs (soda refills) and checking to see that everything was good. We will return.
We go to the Double O quite often. Food is very good and portions are good sized. Everyone is started with fresh made bread and home made bruschetta. Very good. Tonight I had the Cobb Salad and had to take some home. Then my son had the Berry Tart. Excellent. Home made. Our waitress Kristi was great . Highly recommend if you want a great meal.
We found this place last night! We came from Massachusetts to pick up some rims for our truck and wanted dinner , I found this place and I’m glad we did. The appetizers and French onion soup was amazing and we each got burgers. I got the Mac and cheese burger amazing and he got the mushroom and Swiss. We got 2 Oreo cheese cake slices to bring home, it was one of the best pieces I’ve had. Thank you for a great dinner !
Walked In On New Year’s Eve totally exhausted huge menu literally pointed to chicken took my order to go asked the server where is bruschetta on menu it comes free with every meal and so does the bread . Place was packed beautifully decorated and meal was ready in 20 minutes to perfection awesome New Year’s Eve experience!! Total 26.00 plus tip will be back !! Thank you
This is the perfect place for a date nite with your significant other. Me and my wife had a fantastic time and really felt like our sever nick D was really attentive and on point with everything so I hope he gets the right amount of money he deserves.
It was my first time coming to this place. I was in the neighborhood because I drive for Lyft and I had to drop off a passenger nearby. That same passenger told me about this place and I just had to check it out. The food was delicious and the service was great. I definitely want to go back but they are a little far from me.
This was my first time visiting Double O’s. We started off with fresh bread and bruschetta. I ordered the Crab Cake Hoagie, Buffalo Cauliflower and had the Sangarita! Would like to eat here again and try something else but all my food was good. My Sangarita was off the chain! I’m hooked! 🤗 Others ordered Chicken Soup, and a pasta Dish.
We had a great time here. All our meals were very good 👍🏼 Will be back next time in the Fishkill area. Our friend got the beef stroganoff. Then my husband & I got the filet mignon on mashed potatoes n steamed spinach, crunchy onion rings, & I added the 3 big shrimp stuffed with jalapeño slices and wrapped in bacon to my meal. The bacon was gooey, but I just took it off and ate the rest. Very good ! Our waitress was nice as well. Ohh and I ordered a pear martini. Delish . If u love pear, you have to try it 🥩🥔🍃🍐🍸
Wow! We were looking for a place for dinner and didn't want a chain restaurant ... We saw a rustic looking Double O and decided that was the place! What a great choice!! The food was amazing, great beer choices on tap, specialty drinks were delish and the service was friendly and right in the money! Good folks, good food and a fun atmosphere ... Can't go wrong with Double O 😎 BTW ... Their homemade Bruschetta is killer!!!! 😜
Husband and I had a pair of skirt steaks, his off of the regular menu (with the risotto switching out the other starch) and mine off of the special of the day menu - both steaks were prepped perfectly, and were delicious. Mine was supposed to be blackened (it wasn't) but it was seasoned a little more spicy than my husband's. Not complaining, it was a great meal... just not exactly as expected lol. Everything was great, just like every meal we've had there for 2 decades! One of our favorite places, for sure! Oh and get the Shrimp Cargot app, it has gruyere in it and it is AMAZING. Should be its own dish.
Food was fantastic. Service was excellent. Chef was on top of everything. He made sure his loved the food . I am not from here . I stayed in queens New York . We drove 2 hours to get here . We were so happy to come here . I have in restaurant business for over 30 years . I know good quality food . They make everything in house .
Wholesome food in a classy setting with fair prices. Nice drinks, clean bathroom and friendly waitstaff. Enclosed “open-air” section for people in January who want to avoid the ‘Rona in preference to catching pneumonia. On January 12th 2020 the Dutchess County Libertarian Party hosted Larry Sharpe at this location.
Great place to eat. Bread and bruschetta are always delicious. All the other food is good too. 10 of 10
Paid $15 for their signature Mac & Cheese Burger and it was delicious! They offer complimentary bread with some form of vinaigrette mixture that tastes pretty good. The Fries are pretty good as well. Not quite sure if the ketchup is made here... Nonetheless it slaps! They have indoor & outdoor seating and have good Covid-19 precautions.
The restaurant was excellent especially it being my first time there with my boyfriend and friends. Tanya was awesome 😎 and I will definitely be coming back here again for my birthday and more events to come. The food was great and she is an absolute sweetheart and Travis who made my strawberry drink was great. I want to thank her and everyone at this establishment for their hardwood and best food service.
Great burgers, i would suggest the double 0. As well the salad and home made dressing is great. The tuna pokebool sauce was a bit too acidic to our taste. A friend got the tacos they looked great !
Place is great for an upbeat night out with family and friends. There's something on the menu for everyone. It's got great vibes. The staff if very attentive and hospitable. Our food came out very fast and was correct and all delicious. Great for a birthday!
I come in a couple of times a week. It's always great. I will watch whatever game is on. Food Very good. Atmosphere and Service are top notch led by Amanda. She is my favorite mixologist. Friendly, Professional and kind. I'm also a fan of Nick. Thanks guys for being who you are. GREAT!!
Such a cozy place! Great for a date night or a casual bite. We observed people dressed up and also people dining in shorts/T-shirts, so it's an inviting atmosphere for everyone. The servers were all professionally attired and courteous and seemed to be having a great time. We ordered the appetizer platter and it didn't disappoint. Egg rolls, onion strings, chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, and homemade sauces. The bread service was obviously fresh, baked in house, and the bruschetta oil was a unique, delicious accoutrement for the bread. We ordered the triple fajitas and the seared scallops with mushroom risotto. The fajitas came sizzling hot with fresh flour tortillas and a large portion of beans, rice, and toppings. The risotto had perfect allonda texture and was unctuous and cheesy, but not over seasoned. The scallops were just slightly overcooked and chewy, but the rest of the dish was fantastic. For dessert we ordered the profiteroles, an espresso martini, and an Americano. The dessert was huge! And the waitress poured over their signature house made chocolate sauce, which was warm and thick, adding a contrasting texture and temperature to the soft cream puffs with cold ice cream. The rock candy stick served alongside the coffee was the cutest touch. This was our first visit to the restaurant but definitely won't be our last. I think all visitors to the Poughkeepsie/ Wappingers area should check it out when coming through!
We had a wonderful experience at Double O Grill, made even better by our server, Adam. He was friendly, attentive, and gave us just the right amount of space to truly enjoy the ambiance and focus on the amazing food and refreshing homemade sodas. Every dish was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and savor the moment. Thank you, Adam, for making our visit so enjoyable!
we came here twice in a week! Great ambiance - the classic red leather booth vibes, and very clean. We had the same wait staff and he was warm and helpful. I highly recommend the burger - smoky and juicy, the fries that tasted very fresh, and the fried chicken. I really love the French Country Salad and I added grilled shrimp. Rueben sandwich, on the other hand, was so-so.
Amazing restaurant. The staff is always amazing when I go to Double O Grill. Appetizer selection is very good. Try the pretzel and mac and cheese balls. The menu has a very wide selection for everyone in the family. You will mostly likely be taking some food home because they give you a ton of food. Save some room for desert. It's an amazing selection they offer. Thank you, Double O Grill, for a great meal and time.
Delicious! Went with a small group of people and were treated very well by staff. The service was amazing. The waitress remembered all our orders without writing them down which made me anxious but she proved to be quite a great server. The pastas were great, the mac and cheese balls stole the show though. They kid them atop vodka sauce and it was quite an explosion of flavor in the mouth. The drinks were strong too. We drove over an hour to eat here by the way. Definitely worth it. It reminded us of the Cheesecake Factory but with better food lol.
Had a very find dining experience. It was my husband and I first time going. We chose from the very diverse brunch menu. Excellent wait staff, I wish I could remember our particular waitress name, but I never saw her name tag or caught what her name was, but she was exceptionally good. Great personality and made sure to check on us from time to time to see if we were OK. I love how quickly the food was brought out to us, starting off with the basket of a variety of baked breads/ pastry , ranging from croissants to delectable scones. All of which were so moist and fresh. .y husband wanted a bourbon. He chose the most scrumptious bourbon drink that included Irish cream, bourbon and was adorned with a piece of waffle. The presentation of the food was very impressive. A friend that brought us there and had recommended the restaurant chose a salad that she wanted to add tuna too. Her request was readily accommodated. I had chicken and waffles. Generous proportion and chicken was tender, I felt it could have been seasoned a bit .ore to my taste, but the BBQ sauce that accompanied it, made up for the lack of season. My waffle was light and fluffy, however, I would have liked it to be warmer. I think that it was my only complaint, which I didn't bother to voice to the lovely waitress, because she had already gone above and beyond. My husband chose the cinnamon French toast. Delicious!. The portion was so generous, he had to take some home, which made it possible for me to have a taste later. The restaurant itself is impeccably clean. My husband came out of the restroom and was very impressed at the cleanliness of it. I too had the same experience when I visited the restroom. They also have effective covid protocols in place, ranging from mask requirements, ample hand sanitizer stations to social distancing. Loved the ambience with dim lighting and various choices of seat selections that include sitting at the bar or extended bar to 2 person seating to larger tables with rounded cushioned benches. Outdoor seating is also available, weather permitting. I would highly recommend this place. My husband and I have added it on to our list of must do again restaurants.

First time visiting. Food and presentation were very good. We loved the bread and bruschetta that comes to the table. I was however very disappointed when our entrees came out and we had not received our Buffalo Cauliflower Appetizer. 😱 It seemed that there were several other mishaps at the tables around us as well. Must say, the staff seemed to handle the issues well. They were professional, polite, and apologetic. We watched them do what they could to rectify whatever problems arose. Our waiter "gifted" us with dessert. 🍩 The Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich was a great one to share. Going to give it a second chance. After all, we have to go back and try the Buffalo Cauliflower. 😉
Typically I order what I know is good. Pecan Salad (mixed greens, cranberries, endive, pecans and grilled chicken) burger, etc, lately I've been trying new dishes. We tried a couple of the pasta dishes and it was pretty decent (don't think I'd order again) Today, ordered the Navajo wrap and omg how disappointing. Second ingredient listed is beans and there are maybe a teaspoon of beans. Lots of hard watery tomatoes, and tasteless chicken though. The lettuce and the wrap are horribly soggy and doughy. No spicy mayo either. Actually found a tiny, tiny piece of avocado. Still looking for the cheese. Its like they rinsed the food before wrapping it. Good gracious, double o what's going on? The servers are wonderful, the hosts at the front are on top of things. It's got a really nice atmosphere so I keep going back. Food though is hit or miss. I'm just gonna go for what I know is good and save the adventures a different place.
We’ve been coming here for over 20 years and they rarely disappoint. Drinks are always on point. Food is always delicious. Service is normally up to par. Today was a little different, as it relates to service. Ordered my usual drink. Waiter brings over wrong drink and tries to tell me it’s my usual drink. No sir, it’s not. I’ve been enjoying my usual for years. I order another drink. He brings it over and spills some on the floor and my foot. He doesn’t apologize nor does he clean up his spill until the third time we asked. I was about to complain and move tables but the food arrived. Plus my husband asked me to wait. Food was thankfully still delicious. I did advise the hostess on my way out who knew where we sat and who served us. Hopefully she shared with server and management.
Double O used to be Double NO I'm my opinion. A lot of similar options with the expense being better elsewhere. I returned because a friend had selected the restaurant for a group meal. Food quality improved, the service was adequate, the drinks were good. While it might not be my 'go-to' I'd definitely return. If it's an option for you I'd say give it a try.
This was my first visit to the Double O Grill. A friend of mine said it's been around for ages + suggested it for a brunch. (Frankly, I didn't know any restaurant offered brunch on a weekly basis anymore.) So, four of us decided to go for an Easter Sunday 'bruncheon.' I did my due diligence by going onto their website. I checked out the price of the brunch ($34.95) More than I'd wanted to spend, but I decided to see what was being offered on the buffet. Unfortunately, I didn't see enough items of interest to me, to warrant the cost. I looked at the available options and discovered that the time for which we had made our reservation, afforded me the opportunity to order from the menu. This would allow me to get what I wanted at a more reasonable price. I was psyched! The place was packed, the ambiance was lovely + the guests appeared to be enjoying themselves. So far, so good. Until our waitress apprised us that ordering from the menu was not an option; it was strictly buffet. I was pretty annoyed. I'd intentionally made my decision to go there based upon the info on their website. Well, it was too late to back out now, I'd already driven an hour to get there. I made the best selections from the buffet possible. I was hoping the Double O would redeem itself by having stellar food selections. No. I settled for just typical side dishes and breakfast fare. Yes, there was rare steak but, I only do well done. My feeling is that if a restaurant can't be bothered to cook it then I can't be bothered to eat it. I find it hard to believe they didn't even offer one fish entree. No salmon, no trout, no fish at all. (Neither lox on a bagel nor peel + eat shrimp are entrees.) I understand that this was a holiday and there were myriad guests, so our waitress was swamped. But there's really no excuse for guests having to wait 5-10 minutes for a server to be found just to request a coffee refill, only for it to take another 10-15 minutes to have it brought to the table. At a mandatory minimum of $34.95 plus tax, I expect the restaurant managers to be well prepared to serve their guests properly. Particularly when this restaurant has weekly brunches. I shan't be returning neither shall I have anything nice today about this restaurant.
Very cool place, was looking for outdoor dining because we had just come out of the water park. The outdoor experience was great, food was so good, staff was friendly. The only thing that didn’t work was the timing when the food came out, we ordered an appetizer platter with our drinks that never came out on time and our entrees were ready before the appetizer so we ended up canceling it. That was the only issue. Other than that everything was great. Will definitely come back!
A busy and popular place to eat and drink. Despite being busy, service was very good and so was the food. Great for kids as well. Great bar too.
The waiter was awesome, I went there for my birthday yesterday. Shoutout to the chef, everything was cooked to perfection. Clean place.
Don’t judge a book by its cover. Upon arrival it felt like a glorified TGI Fridays or Uno. But after dining there this place is really awesome. Excellent service, very nice and reasonable. It could use a remodel, but besides that it was excellent! We had several plates with our large group with picky eaters and all were very satisfied and impressed. From the calamari, tacos, burger, chicken salads, chips and guacamole, excellent house bread with amazing sauce to the 7 layer chocolate cake we couldn’t go wrong. Highly recommend stopping here if you can, you won’t be disappointed!
Love double O's been going forever, it's always consistent and the atmosphere is always nice and they really put a nice presentation on when you walk in and look at the place during the holidays. My advice is go. Enjoy yourself
This is one of my favorite places on the area. Tonight I was a little disappointed in the service that we received. My daughter ordered chicken fingers and asked for ketchup and it took over 10 minutes for him to come back and he came back with drink but no ketchup, I had to get it myself. Overall the food was good and enjoyable and will be back again.
The service was off today. I guess we were sat in the Siberia area. Waitress disappeared several for long periods of time after finally appearing for out beverage order. The food was fantastic. We both ordered the specials. Mahi Mahi and Striped Bass. I would recommend this dining experience fully.
Recently had dinner here with family and was impressed with the variety of items on the menu. The waiter we had was attentive , the restaurant was quite busy , but the noise level wasn't bad. Everyone seemed satisfied with their meals and of course the desserts, which are huge! Only issue I had was the steamed edamame. It seems they use pretzel salt on them. Way too much and crunchy. We couldn't eat them. Ill definitely re visit again.
The food… superb. The vibe…meh. The service…poor. We were seated by a rowdy family celebrating a birthday. Sigh. The place was jumping though, which was cool and the food, delicious but our server was less than great. We enjoyed some hot wings and stuffed tater tots! Like I said, delicious! We also enjoyed a pumpkin spice cocktail and an old fashioned. The service started out good but after we gave our order we didn’t see her again. The kitchen delivered the food to the table and we enjoyed our food but still no server. We went to the hostess stand to find her after 20 mins of waiting. She finally reappeared. No apology for the wait. Nothing! Super disappointing. We may go back but will avoid her section for sure or just get it to go next time.

After emphasizing that I wanted my hamburger rare, it still came out well done. The waitress said she would check if anything could be done with the manager. That was the last we heard of it.
We went there after a funeral service for a friend. Atmosphere A+ Food c I've never had such a dry tasteless turkey club. No mayo very little turkey more bread than anything else. I wasn't the only one complaining. Service b+.
Good food but very pricey slow to get u our order
Went for a birthday party. Food was OK. Chicken was good but parpadelli was stuck together in a clump and not enough sauce. Was very noisey couldn't hear anything. Service was ok but was rushing us after being served. Then took along time for dessert.
The food was good. I had the lettuce wraps appetizer for my main course and it was very tasty. Our server was friendly but not good. We asked three times for butter for our bread and he never brought it, so one of us had to go to the host stand and ask somebody else to bring us butter. The restaurant was not busy. That was just one example.
I wanted so badly for this to be a place with more stars. Good food, desserts and cool ambiance. But after more than 3 times we ordered the same dish and the rice and beans was missing. That’s ridiculous. First time, management gave us a gift card. Next time nothing. Then it happened again. They said it was a new menu item. This was more than 6 months later. How in the heck?! Not going there again. $😒
Stopped here while passing through town. Weirdest dining experience ever. The place was described as “eclectic” and “snazzy” and that should have been my first clue that this place was maybe more geared toward older people. The food was so bland and unseasoned and yet also cold in the middle. It was clearly frozen. The atmosphere was strange, it looks like it used to be a diner BUT the lights were low and there was weird club music blasting the entire time we were there. There was food and debris on the ground throughout the restaurant and anywhere close to 8 workers just standing outside the kitchen just chatting or standing in the doorway outside chatting letting in cold air. It seemed like none of the workers wanted to be there or actually enjoyed their jobs. Our waiter did not smile once. It felt like the restaurant from the movie waiting. If I could I would give double 0 stars out of 5.
I have been here many times, but only for parties. The food is just ok. It has really great decor and has a great atmosphere. The staff is very friendly. We were here for a party. They never refilled water or drinks unless we asked them too. They never came to take the plates when we finished with each course. Multiple times, they left appetizers on the corner of the table. We would have to quickly move them because we thought it might fall off the table. We had to pile up the plates on the far end to bring the food to the middle. The best thing I had was the Chicken Sorrentino. It was layered nicely and had lots of flavor. The rest of the food was meh. The calamari was a little rubbery. The mozzarella was very good. I don’t eat tomatoes so not sure how they were. I tried a little of the penne vodka. It had no taste and was like warm at best when it came out. One forkful was enough for me.
Went there this past Sunday for their brunch buffet. I don't know when it came back after Covid but it definitely isn't what it used to be. Seems like it got quite a bit more expensive and the food…

Atmosphere and Service is Great as well as the Drinks and Dessert. Food quality has gone down drastically. My family used to come to this place religiously a decade ago.
This place is hit or miss. Never a consistent experience. Our most recent experience is what made me want to write a review. First, it was HOT. There was hardly any air circulation and everyone was sweating and fanning themselves with menus. Second, our waiter almost seemed like he was intentionally ignoring us. We tried flagging him down 3 times for more water - since it was so hot but he would zip past us after checking on almost every other table around us. We even made eye contact when trying to get his attention and he walked away. We were seated for nearly an hour when our entree's finally arrived, and then it took another hour to get our waters refilled and the check. The food is also hit or miss. I typically order the steak every time I go. But I've learned that in order to have my steak cooked medium rare, I need to ask for medium. If you ask for medium rare, you will get a rare steak. As for the drinks.. maybe stick to beer or wine because hopefully they won't mess that up. I got the Cucumber Mojito and every single sip my mouth was full of cucumber seeds. I had to ask for a spoon to fish them out. The Hurricane (tiki drink) was also very poorly mixed and all the rum was just sitting at the bottom of the glass. The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because I have had great experiences in the past. I just wish they were consistent.
The food itself was very good, but unfortunately the service completely overshadowed the experience. We dine here about once every couple of months, so this was especially disappointing. After being seated, we waited close to 10 minutes before our server came to the table. He didn’t introduce himself and opened with “what are we drinking?”—no greeting, no welcome, no check-in. That set the tone for the rest of the meal. We ordered both drinks and food at the same time. The drinks arrived only about a minute before the food, which felt rushed and poorly timed. Our food was dropped off by a runner, and our server didn’t return until we were nearly finished eating. When he did, he refilled drinks but never asked how the food was or if we needed anything. The next and final interaction was a quick drive-by drop of the check. To add to the disappointment, the portion of fries served with our $20 burgers was noticeably skimpy. Good food can’t make up for inattentive service and a lack of basic hospitality. We’ve had better experiences here in the past, but this visit missed the mark in a big way.

Had a large party reserved. They sat us at a long table among all the other guests. There was no room for the waitstaff and for us to get in or out of the tables. I asked the waitress to speak to the manager about putting us at the lower tables where we had always been seated considering the size of our party and we wouldnt cause a problem for the other guests. The manager refused. It wasn’t until it was painfully obvious that our location was impossible that we were relocated to the lower level were there was room. Not once did the manager come over to speak with us or to handle the issue. Poor leadership and planning. The wait staff on the other hand did a great job. They deserve a better boss.
Was there for my wife birthday which was a special occasion. She has dine there before so she wanted to dine at this restaurant for her Birthday anyway this was the first time for me.. the waitress that attending to us was very courteous and polite. while we were having our drinks we notice a lot of " FILES inside the restaurant let me state we were sitting close to the window on the side of the car parking there was so many flies flying around inside the restaurant it was unbearable so i decided to call one of the waitress and explaining to her if there anything they could do to get rid of the flies she blatantly said there is nothing she can do because they prop the door to the side that customers can come inside and exited the restaurant which was not a sensible thing to do to inconvenience other patron who is dinning so i ask to speak with the manager he was not making any sense explaining either he was very discourteous and rude telling me that the files are "nature" and that should not be bother about these files flying around inside the restaurant i ask him to remove us from the window and he gave us a another seat which he did after is rude comment are statement . I order a combination of three meals an i did not enjoy the meal first the shrimp that was rapped with beacon was spoiled and smelled stink i almost vomited from the smell coming from the meal the experience was not a pleasant one for me been at the restaurant for the first time.. The meal cost us $106.00 with two drinks i DID NOT EVEN BOTHER TO LEAVE A TIP .Because of the bad service that was matted out to us leaving one to think that the staff needs training on customer service and hygiene and sanitizing and Environment this restaurant needs to be inspected daily by the health commission for proper upkeep for a public restaurant an grill and the refrigerators needs to be checked constantly for the storage of meat at the right temperature because they are serving spoiled . Which should be discarded which is not good for human consumption this is what attracted the files inside the restaurant because files attract to dead are spoiled meet. I must hastily say i give this restaurant score of A for decor and layout.
Very upset on what I just experienced here. I placed an order online and their system is very limited to modifications as well as the kids section doesn’t allow you to put drinks. So after I placed my $114 order I called them to explain the modifications I needed and what drink my child wanted (which another employee before told me to just call and let them know to have it ready - taking their advice ) . So I called not even 5 minutes after I order and explain if I could switch the kids steamed broccoli for mixed veggies which they said they can and to add the kids drink a ginger ale and my jambalaya pasta since I can’t have mussels to add extra shrimp- which I’ve done in the past when sitting down at the restaurant as well as instead of veggies with my steak I asked for double Fries which I was able to modify online and all steak being medium . I showed up when I got the text it was ready and the girls in front clearly didn’t take down my note or care to do the modification I asked. Thankfully I checked my food before leaving and told them they didn’t change the broccoli to mixed vegetables, they didn’t give me the drink and I had to double check with the girls if that meant they didn’t even mention the extra shrimp since I removed the mussels , the one girl that stayed with me said she wasn’t the one who spoke to me and doesn’t know . No bread or bruschetta was in the bag . I also had to wait and extra 15 minutes for the mixed veggies. Also no double fries with my steak but they added veggies and steaks were well done. The point of calling was to 1. Make easier for them and to do it before the kitchen started the food and 2. To not have to bother them when’s I’m there and also to have my food ready . Highly disappointed , paying $114 for food and couldn’t get simple request done and not how I ordered my food and still having to wait for them to do something I gave them a head up for and time to do . Apologized lightly and mostly avoided eye contact with me , I was upset. It’s ridiculous. I’m not someone to get upset normally or make a big deal of things and do my best to make it easier for others but this really just was unacceptable, my words went in 1 ear and our the other to your staff .
Today was my celebration, and my husband and I went to the DOUBLE O GRILL restaurant, which is located in WAPPINGERS Falls, NY, 1536 U.S. 9. Our mood was ruined from the very first minute. And I regretted that we stayed for dinner at this restaurant. The service was at the lowest level. First, they sat us at a table that we couldn’t squeeze into, and the table was stationary and couldn’t be moved. We were offered to move to another table, which consisted of two halves. My husband’s table was stable, but my table kept moving up and down due to uneven floors and a crooked table leg. They again offered us to move to a third table. We didn’t do this because we were tired of moving to a third table. Then things got even worse. Our server, Marisa F., brought us glasses of water and ice without even asking what we wanted. But I don't drink cold water, so I asked her to bring me a glass of hot water with lemon. Marisa's expression turned indignant. She asked me who could possibly bring me hot water with lemon at the end? I repeated that I wanted it now, not at the end; I can't drink cold water with ice. Marisa looked indignant, and after a while, without rushing, she finally brought me what I asked for. There were no paper napkins on the table, so we asked her to bring them. Imagine my surprise when a hand with a pack of napkins appeared from behind the partition at the back. Marisa was too lazy to bring the napkins to the table, going around it, and she tossed them without any respect for us as customers, like throwing a bone to a dog. And when she brought me another hot water with lemon, I asked her how long she'd been a waitress, and she replied, about a year. Now I have a question: Hasn't your employee learned to serve customers respectfully in a year? I tell her that I don't like it when napkins fly onto the table, and she doesn't even know how to listen; she talks in parallel with me. I will never go to your restaurant again and will tell everyone I know how the waitress ruined my important day today. My husband and I came to enjoy the food and service, but we were left with a stressed-out and ruined mood for the rest of the evening. Price very high. For two persons we paid $73 + tips.
The Sunday brunch is not worth $30 per person ($18 maybe). Aside from the exorbitant price, service was absolutely amazing. I spoke to at least four employees and every single one of them was spectacular in both service and attention to detail. However, there were other negatives aside from price. The decor shows sign of age and abuse, top of seats are sticky, there’s a faint odor of old dirty dish towel, you’ll see boogers stuck to the wall along with dry bits of food and stains from someone’s spilled drink. No matter what you claim or believe, I can’t justify the price. I won’t be back.
