The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the chilaquiles and steak and eggs, and both were perfectly cooked, flavorful, and super satisfying. Everything tasted fresh and well seasoned, and the portions were huge! Just look at the pictures! What really made the experience stand out, though, was our waiter Luz. She was incredibly sweet, attentive, and welcoming, and genuinely made us feel taken care of from start to finish. Her positive energy and kindness added so much to the meal and really elevated the whole experience. Between the amazing food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service, Agua 301 is definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend!

Agua 301 is a standout for both food and atmosphere. The guacamole alone is worth the visit. It is fresh, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with high-quality avocados. It’s the kind of guacamole you keep reaching for long after you think you’re full. The menu shines across the board. Crispy empanadas with a golden, flaky crust, flavorful rolled tacos, and beautifully prepared shrimp all arrive well-plated and hot. Everything tastes fresh and thoughtfully prepared, not rushed or generic. Pair it with one of their margaritas—bright, balanced, and not overly sweet—and it’s an ideal combination. Service is excellent: attentive without hovering, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The staff makes you feel relaxed and taken care of, which elevates the entire experience. Add in the lively patio setting, and Agua 301 becomes an easy choice for a casual meal that still feels special. If you’re looking for consistently great Mexican food, exceptional guacamole, and warm, professional service, Agua 301 delivers every time.

My 5 started goes to all why because I felt welcomed, I felt like I was in my own community, thanks to : ANYA for her service, and keep the good work, my dear. Without forgetting the other waiters' specialty, the one with Afro hair. You guys were awesome to us. I love, love the food. As an Africa, chef is not easy for me to rate the dishes, but this one gives the expression to be in my own restaurant. You can see I finished it all😊🫠

Always a great time here I come often. I recommend the tacos, yuca, paella, queso with ground beef added, guacamole, and enchiladas! The margaritas are always great. Easy to come in without a reservation. Good service speed. Lovely to eat by the water.

I had the most incredible brunch experience at this place 3 weeks ago. I had made my reservation, so I was seated as soon as I walked in. Sandra, my server was fantastic!! Everything she recommended was delicious: the guacamole, the yuca frita, the cochinita pibil taco, the bbq pork taco and the tres leches too! Plus, they have bottomless margaritas!! I seriously couldn’t have asked for a better brunch experience. I’ll definitely visit again the next time I’m in DC!

Brunch was fantastic today. We are locals living in navy yard and rotating through the various brunch locations. We had a great experience today with attentive wait staff, Rodrigo, and excellent food. The salsa was spicy and the food flavorful. Recommend going early and staying to enjoy.

This place is such a vibe, placed 6ft apart eating here is easy and happy hour is a must. Food takes a little longer and they run out of meal items often but each Mexican dish is worth the wait. I also enjoy their drinks can’t wait to come back.

She makes guests feel welcome, keeps everything running smoothly, and consistently delivers great service with a positive attitude. Her knowledge of drinks, efficiency, and teamwork really set her apart. Any place would be lucky to have her behind the bar or on the floor — highly recommend!

Jenn was an AMAZINGGGGG bartender. Right as i was walking in - a corporate group also flooded the bar…Jenn’s attention to everyone never wavered. Her pitcher & drinks were delicious and her conversation was just as appreciated. As a fellow bartender, i was impressed and grateful. SHE HAS A REGULAR 4L. 🤍

Luz has been terrific server for my visit, my husband and I were the first ones there as soon as it opened. Luz did a tremendous job on hospitality and customer service even offered the lunch specials of the day. Luz provided a positive experience for my husband and I, will definitely be back to visit soon.

Shoutout to Ria at Agua 301! Ria is hands-down one of the best bartenders I’ve had in a long time. From the moment you sit down, she’s welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly. She knows the drinks inside and out, makes great recommendations, and keeps the energy at the bar fun without ever making you feel rushed or ignored. You can tell she takes pride in what she does, and it really elevates the whole experience at Agua 301. If you’re grabbing cocktails here, do yourself a favor and sit at Ria’s bar — she’s a big reason I’ll be back.

Jen….. JENNIFER. Ok I’m too hype, but Jen the bartender is what makes this place special. Agua, a hallmark, iconic restaurant in the new era of the Navy Yard area, this place really is where you want to be when you want to grab a quick bite or one of the best drinks ever. Thanks Jen!

You rarely go into bars where you both feel at home and at the same time excited to see a bartender that’s working. That’s what Jenn is like! Very personable, professional, but at the same time has that bartender spunk that you need!

I’m a repeat customer from the neighborhood and I always have a great experience when I come to Auga 301. Anely was my server and her customer service was great. She checked in, made sure I had everything I needed, let me know about specials and happy hour deals and overall was super polite. I will be back like always.

A true gem in Navy Yard! The food here is outstanding, and the service is always great. They have bottomless sangria and margaritas in addition to the classic mimosas! The owner is incredibly friendly and amazing, making every visit feel special. We will always make it a point to stop by whenever we're in the area

I am a huge fan of Mexican food. When I say the food tasted authentic, it is the understatement of the century. Really good. I had the short ribs. My husband had the steak fajitas. Daughter had the chicken flautas. Son had the chicken quesadillas. I tasted all of the food. The answer is YES YES YES YES. The best part of the meal is that the food tasted like the chef really took the time to cook the food with love. It was not loaded with salt, which is a major problem with Mexican restaurants. Ooooh. And I enjoyed the guacamole. I make my own guac, but the guac from agua 301, I will try again. Thank you! The only sad part was that the one who was waiting on us seemed to be overwhelmed by other customers. I’m glad the restaurant was busy, but waiting for a box for 10 minutes after my family left to go to the car, made me feel like I was forgotten. I unfortunately had to waste beautiful uneaten food because I never got the box for the leftovers. The atmosphere was very romantic. I had my kiddos with me and even they said the restaurant felt so fancy. 🤗 2 adult meals, 2 kid meals, no desert, no alcohol ran up $90+. Yep, it’s expensive. But it was definitely worth it. Will save to come back with my hubby.

Sandra was our waitress; she was very friendly and fun, and besides that, we really liked the tacos and the churrasco.

Came in tonight and had an amazing experience at Agua 301. The bartender was on point from start to finish — attentive, friendly, and knew exactly what they were doing. Drinks were balanced and strong (not watered down), and the recommendations were solid. I had margaritas and draft beers, and everything came out quick and consistent. The energy behind the bar really made the atmosphere better — great vibe, professional, and welcoming. Food was flavorful and fresh, and the overall experience felt smooth and well taken care of. Definitely coming back. Highly recommend sitting at the bar if you want great service. Ms. Jenn

We had such an amazing experience at Auga 301! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, stylish, and inviting — the perfect balance of upscale and comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and high quality. But what truly made the night exceptional was our server, RIA. She was outstanding from start to finish. RIA was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and gave excellent recommendations. She anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made sure everything came out perfectly. Her energy was positive, professional, and genuinely welcoming — you can tell she takes pride in providing great service. It’s rare to find someone who elevates the entire dining experience the way she did. RIA made us feel valued, taken care of, and appreciated as guests. We will absolutely be back — and we’ll definitely be requesting RIA again. Highly recommend! 👏✨

An Exceptional Experience! I had an absolutely amazing time thanks to Jen, our bartender, who made the evening unforgettable! Her energy, professionalism, and incredible mixology skills truly stood out. Every drink Jen crafted was spot-on — balanced, creative, and full of flavor. She was friendly, attentive, and made everyone feel welcome, which added so much to the atmosphere. As for the food — absolutely delicious! Every dish was bursting with fresh flavor and beautifully presented. You can tell a lot of care and passion go into the kitchen here. From the first bite to the last, everything was cooked to perfection. Between Jen’s outstanding service and the mouthwatering food, Agua 301 is an absolute must-visit. I’ve been visiting Agua 301 faithfully for a good bit of 13 yrs and have never been disappointed. Agua 301 is a staple in the Navy Yard community, with a healthy mix of talent and diversity!

Agua is one of the best kept secrets at the Navy Yard!!! The food is top tier, customer service is ALWAYS stellar, and this has one of the best bars/tequilla selections that you will ever see in this area. Ria is the beat bar tender, she eloquently mixes cocktails to your preference with all ingredients evenly balanced. Ria’s customer service is always a 5 star, Happy Hour is amazing and Margarita Monday and Taco Tuesday put this restaurant at a different level. Affordable, Reliable, Amazing atmosphere!! Well done Agua!

The best Mexican food in town. Pricing is extremely reasonable for this area of Washington DC. The servers in this restaurant are extremely friendly helpful and with an excellent attitude. Ria the bartender has been serving me for several years. Her attitude, professionalism and service is excellent. I recommend this place for good food, Best drinks With best prices and excellent over all service. I give it 6 * out 5

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is consistently good, the drinks are great, and the best part is the people. When I go during happy hour, Luz usually takes care of me, and she’s exceptional. She treats me like I’m the only person in the restaurant, even when it’s busy. She’s sweet, humble, and incredibly attentive, always checking in at just the right time and making sure everything is perfect without being overbearing. She truly makes the experience feel personal and welcoming every time. I also come for brunch before Sunday Nats games, and it’s become part of my routine. The drinks are strong, the food always hits, and it’s the perfect way to start game day. In the evenings, I’m usually at the bar with A-Quil as the bartender, and he’s just as attentive and personable. I see the manager around often too. I don’t know his name, but he always seems ready to jump in and help wherever needed. I really love coming here.

Rhea got us right. I had the two taco plate and it was delish. Def recommend the pork belly el pastor and the Baja fish. I ate the Baja later and it was still bc crispy! 10/10. Food came hot and stayed hot. Hot sauce was hot but I love that bc lots of places says they have hot sauce but it’s not hot.

Our server Luz is always very attentive and fast with the refills. We enjoy eating here at least once or twice a month. The food is reasonably priced and the view of the water is great. The food is consistently appetizing and they also have several vegetarian options.

Agua 301 is a fantastic spot if you’re looking for great Mexican food paired with an awesome vibe. Ria, Jen and Aquil are amazing at the bar and make you feel like you are part of the Agua 301 family. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming—perfect for a relaxed dinner or a fun night out. What really sets the place apart, though, is the staff. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel taken care of from the moment you walk in. You can tell they care about the experience just as much as the food. Definitely a place worth coming back to. 🌮✨

I was worried that Água 301 would only cater to business people, but I was pleasantly surprised! We took our toddler there, and they had an entire kids menu! The food was phenomenal, and I would definitely recommend the shrimp fajitas. Our food came out piping hot and perfectly seasoned. Our server was great, providing good suggestions when we couldn't decide what to get our toddler. The atmosphere was fun and friendly when we went for lunch. I'd definitely recommend for families or business-types alike!

Food is great, and even the location is so beautiful by the water! You can’t go wrong with any of the dishes here, but given how busy they tend to be, it may be a bit of a wait to order/get your food, but definitely still worth it! The waiters are nice and as efficient as possible and very friendly too. I’d definitely go back again - solid brunch spot and definitely make a resy in advance if possible

Cute little spot with a nice view! I came in towards the end of my group’s meal but still got to try some food/drinks. The pineapple mezcal smash I had to exchange for something else. It was way too strong and needed a lot more non-liquor ingredients. After that I tried the blackberry caipirinha, which was better, but still very strong. I tried a sip of the mango margarita and thought it was pretty good, I wish I’d ordered a full one. 6/10 on the drinks. The food I had was pretty good! I had a few shrimp tacos and the ceviche de pescado blanco. The ceviche was very flavorful and I’d certainly order it again. For the location I thought the prices were cheaper than expected, and they partner with the inKind app which is always a plus. Overall I’d return, probably try some new drinks and sample additional food items + repeat the ceviche. They also have a decent happy hour if you want to sample without paying full price.

I had a great time here! The food was really good and so were the drinks 🍻. I like the atmosphere and they played good 🎶🎵 although I wish it was a little louder🔊. The service was great and very fast. I like that they have hooks for you to hang your coat at the bar and outlets as well🔌. On the price front, they are in line with the area and I ended up spending less 💸👛 than I thought 💭

M

Upon arriving at the restaurant, we found no host or hostess to assist us in getting seated, so we took it upon ourselves to sit at the bar. Despite this, the service we received was prompt and efficient. The food we ordered was exceptional, and we plan to return to the establishment in the future. However, there were a couple of issues that need to be addressed. Firstly, the bar area requires a thorough cleaning to ensure that it meets the standards expected by guests. Secondly, the bartender was observed sneezing into his hand when dealing with customers, which is not a hygienic practice and could potentially lead to the spread of germs. This behavior should be corrected as soon as possible to ensure the safety and well-being of all patrons.

I went there for lunch and ordered the tacos, which is your selected choice of 3 difference types of tacos for $17. I chose 2 Baja fish tacos and 1 beef barbacoa. I highly, highly recommend the Baja fish! It was the perfect combination between soft and crispy. Keep in mind that the soft taco shells are corn tacos, not flour, so they do break easier and it can get a little messy. But it’s worth it! I also ordered the chicken soup, which was just alright. Nothing over the top. Unfortunately the service was very slow. My soup was served without a spoon, and when I asked for one, I didn’t get it until the soup was a little colder. Their prices are reasonable, though. The total for my soup and tacos was around $28. Definitely get an outside table for the gorgeous sunset view on the Potomac. See pictures!

My friend suggested this spot for Saturday brunch, and I'll admit I was a little skeptical at first. I don't usually hang out in Navy Yard, and when I checked the menu online, I didn't see anything about a bottomless option. Our reservation was for 1 PM, and while it wasn't very crowded, there were a few people enjoying the outdoor seating. Our waitress, Sandra, was absolutely amazing, warm, attentive, and super helpful. She recommended the steak and eggs, and I'm glad she did, the steak was cooked perfectly. For $25, you can do bottomless margaritas, and Sandra made sure my glass was never empty. Between the great food, flowing drinks, and relaxed atmosphere, it was the perfect day for brunch with friends. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

2.5 stars. Very middle of the road average food. Stopped by for a quick working lunch, had the 3pc tacos. When it came out the tacos looked great! But that's where it stops, the taco with beef and blue cheese was actually good. The mango shrimp was ok, nothing special. And the pork belly was terrible, the meat was very tough and not tasty, it tasted as if was reheated in a microwave. Beans did not taste good, and the rice was dry and nothing special. When finished and asking for the check we had to wait for over 10 minutes with no server in sight. A very generous 20% is automatically applied to your bill "to increase the wages of our tipped employees to above the minimum wage in DC" (that's from the menu) regardless of the level of service provided. Sadly this place will not be on my list of regular spots in DC.

Two weeks in advance I made a reservation online for our department. It was a lunch set for 11:45am the Friday before the holiday so that's why I booked so early. They confirmed with me 2 days before. Our group arrived on time and they didn't have the tables ready for us. There were two other groups already there, but the restaurant was still pretty empty. They set up the tables and we were seated 15 minutes later. We sat another 20 minutes before getting water, 10 more minutes before ordering, and then didn't get our food until about 1:10pm. They were so understaffed. We saw two, possibly three waitresses for the entire establishment. Although they weren't rude, they never explained the delay nor apologized for it. Then they charged the 20% service fee. We will not be going back there. What food we did eat was decent, but we had to bag it up in order to get back to the office in time. Great views, but that's it for our experience.

They use to have great empanadas. The crabmeat empanada was dry with no flavor. The chicken was also dry and tough. The beef was bitter. Is there a new cook. Empanadas are not their specialty. Truly disappointed.
