Great experience. It was a nice Friday evening. Damykah is a great server! She made me feel welcomed and helped me ring in my birthday. Food was delicious!
5 years ago I had the pleasure of dining at the Ruth’a Chris, Toronto. When a new one opened up local to me, I was both very excited and also moderately hesitant. I didn’t want my amazing experience to be tainted by a lesser experience. Ruth’s Chris in Albany did not disappoint. My family can be quite a giggly bunch, and our server Elias made our night particularly enjoyable. To be sat down at a local restaurant and feel right at home, accepted for who I am and my kooky family is truly a rare experience. So on a personal note, thank you Elias for matching our energy and making a very special night to my family feel valid and fun. I’m very excited to come back, and I can guarantee it will not be another 5 years until my next visit!
I have ways loved this place. At this location the customer service is phenomenal, from the moment u walk in and greeted by Joi. She walks u to the table very friendly and smiles, the food is always on point steaks quality flavorful and juicy cooked to perfect temperature. The seafood tower delicious always fresh and cooked perfectly. Side dishes are savory and seasoned well. Now the food speaks for itself butt the staff is what keeps me coming back the attentiveness, professional demeanor excellent fir this company. The bartenders are amazing they engage make u feel special comfortable and welcome. Mac, Aaron, Liv, Rome, Daryl, Ben, can't remember the one with the dress name butt all exceptionally out of this world. The managers are very nice too Brie, and the other woman managers I see more. Thank you Ruth Chris for your hands down Best restaurant and staff around before and since the pandemic they stay consistently pleasing.
Good afternoon, Wow, the price really did cause everything else to increase. The service was good, the atmosphere was good, but the food was OUTSTANDING!!! I was introduced to a ribeye. They put nice anniversary confetti on our table. Then the food just hit different. It was worth the$xxx.xx we spent. Yes, you will be in the 3 digits if you have a party or two, unless you share. Don't share lal.
Our server,, Earl,, did very good service and he has a lot of recommendation and very friendly. my husband and I really enjoy the food and place 🙏😍
Service was unparalleled!! We ordered the Tomahawk medium well ($150) it came out well done🙄😒😓 The apps and sides were delicious. The ambiance was very nice. Besides the steak hiccup it was an enchanting and memorable dining experience. Will try again!
This was the best steak I’ve had in a very long time. It was an anniversary celebration and they knocked it out of the park. They gave us special drinks and dessert. It was a gorgeous restaurant and the staff was very engaging and fun. We will def be back.
We came here for an event in one of their private event rooms for 15 or so people. They provided an incredible spread of appetizers and lobster to start! Waited for everyone to get there to start and explained everything very well. Josh and Diego were our main servers and they were incredible!!! Provided answers to all our questions and gave a proper amount of sides and made sure we all tried the desserts! Best dinner experience of my life. Genuinely. And the new place is beautiful. Thanks to everyone there for the great experience!!
The steaks were phenomenal, fatty, salty and perfectly cooked to temp. Our waiter Earl was great, very personable and kind, he took our lovely meal to the next level with his charm and attention.
Amazing Restaurant for steaks 🥩 in high class and perfectly made! Perfect meat from Angus in different cuts and styles. The starter, sides and deserts are also unbelievably tasty and good.
May the manager was outstanding, we had a last minute reservation on inauguration night and they made it work for us. The service by China was first class and Cat was a great hostess and manager Best Ruth’s we have been in nation wide.
The food was absolutely delicious. Huge shout out to Mo he was lovely and made some great recommendations. Would definitely come back again and whoever gets Mo is a lucky guest!
By far one of the best Ruth Chris locations I have been to. DC Staff was super friendly and the food was cooked to perfection. This was my dad's first time at a Ruth Chris streakhouse and he really enjoyed himself!!! I definitely recommend the lamb chops and the sweet potato casserole was soooo goooood!!!
The t-bone was cooked to perfection! The stuffed mushrooms were the best I've ever had, and the mashed potatoes were excellent! Also, Earl was an amazing waiter!
Damykah as well as the service manager and general manager was amazing. From the moment I walked in, the host greeted us with a warm welcome and everything was great until the end
My wife and I came to Ruth's Chris to celebrate our 23th wedding anniversary. The restaurant and server Amy was awesome!!!! Everyone was super friendly and attentive. We had the Tomahawk steak which was the best steak we had in a very long time. If you have a special occasion or just want some good food please visit them. 5 stars
On, Saturday, August 2nd we had a great experience at Ruth Chris. We had a reservation at 4 PM and we were seated immediately by the Hostess. The atmosphere was really great and a beautiful restaurant. Mika our server was very helpful and courteous and friendly going over the menu for drinks and food. We also met the manager, Joseph, who was very courteous and friendly. He made sure that everything was OK and that we were taken care of. I want to mention the other servers as well who was very courteous and friendly Vari, Amilcar. The drink, I ordered was the Blueberry Mojito. It was so good. We ordered the 16 oz New York Strip Steak, Potatoes Au Gratin and Asparagus. Dessert. Small Cheesecake. I will definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for some delicious food we will definitely be back.
We had Earl as a server at the DC location. He was a pure blessing! Made sure we stuck to our after dinner schedule without rushing us. Had great recommendations and made sure we enjoyed every moment. Thank you Earl! We will be back just for your amazing service
I ordered 40oz tomahawk ribeye with truffle crust, sizzling lobster tail, calamari and veal osso buco ravioli
Excellent service and food! Yates was our waitor and he was amazing!
Yates was our waiter, and I have to say he was so good. When asked what he recommended, he told us he loves the Chicken dish. We ordered it and it was to die for, so delicious. This was our first experience at a Ruth Chris and we will definitely go again. Our drinks was equally delicious. Old Fashion and Lemon 🍋 drop. Yates had a great personality was very friendly and super nice. He is what you want in a waiter, when you have never been before, to be told what is favorite dishes to try is a great thing 😊.
Absolutely amazing! There are no words to describe how well they made us feel yesterday. First: the gral manager opened the door and let me check the menu hours in advance for a reservation I had. Server: China was beyond extraordinary. Thanks young lady for your words, patience, and service. Juan: he was very friendly. We knows Hispanics people don’t dine too much in these high end restaurants. We noticed we had the customer service in his veins. Food: oMG- food was delicious, good portions, whatever need to be cold was cold, and what need to be hot stayed hot! 🤭 Dessert: crème brûlée: maybe less brown sugar or better use white sugar since it is thinner so it can melt and hace the burnt coated layer . But flavor was incredible, just that. Everything was great, on point, a PRISTINE service. Gracias x todo! Nos hicieron sentir muy cómodas.
The service provided by our server Lyneka was superb. I could give more than a 5 star review I would. She recommended the veal ravioli and it was the very best appetizer I’ve had at Ruth Chris in years. Ruth Chris is always a solid choice for dinner but the service provided this evening just elevated the entire experience.
I want there for my birthday with my best friend and the experience was amazing! From the food to the customer service 10/10 would recommend. Tamia was an amazing waitress she got me some cheesecake and sang happy birthday to me I was very grateful. I’m definitely going back because of her!! Weselin was also very amazing!
I extend my sincere gratitude for the wonderful birthday dinner. Even though I celebrated alone, it was truly delightful. My family in New York City recommended that I try this restaurant, and I did on my birthday. I was so happy once I stepped inside the greeter was so warm and friendly she welcomed me with a Happy Birthday greeting and escorted me to my tablee. The table setting, adorned with Happy Birthday decorations, was lovely. The waiter could benefit from some additional training. The petite filet was delicious and tender. The highlight of my evening was the exceptional helpfulness of the management staff. I was unaware that my chosen cake was included in the birthday reservation. The manager kindly inquired about my celebration and, noticing my concern about a concert, reassured me that I would arrive on time. Ruth's Chris Steak House provided a special birthday touch, as evidenced in the photographs; they truly made my dinner memorable.
We had a large family dinner here to honor my husband who was buried at Arlington that day. From planning the menu to changing the number of guests, the staff was more than accommodating. With so many restaurants in DC, I am glad I picked this one. The food was piping hot. Each and every guest remarked how delicious everything was. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. It was a perfect ending to an otherwise solemn day. We were able to relax and enjoy our evening, and I felt it was a wonderful ending to an important day for our family.
Venise was delightful, warm and very personable. She was attentive and gave us time to chat during each course and knew just hiw much to engage our party. Selwyn the General Manager also provided top notch service and extraordinary hospitality. I would highly recommend.
Von was welcoming and an excellent server. My first time at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse was a great experience.
My husband and I came here for my birthday dinner. Food was incredible and the service from Earl was amazing! We will definitely be back.
Ruth's Chris Steak House is a fantastic place if you are into steak. I had the Riley, and it was cooked perfectly! It was very tasty, definitely one of the best steaks I have ever had! If you never have been to a Ruth's Chris Steak house you should definitely check it out. It is a high end place, but the steaks are well worth it! I highly recommend this place.
I have been to this place a few times. One of my top 3 favorite restaurants in DC. My favorite ites is the New York steak. I think it's the best and the sizzling plate makes the experience even better. Highly recommend.
Went on a Saturday at 4:30pm. Great food, drinks, and service. Our waitress (name starts w a K) was kind and attentive and the food runner was also great and packaged our food carefully.
Food was delicious, service was fantastic, we appreciated the manager checking in on us. The table was ready and the special request for a birthday celebration was executed well. From the service at the front entrance to all those who help served our table, to include our fantastic waiter, David. It was an amazing dinner!
DC branch of upscale Steakhouse chain; pricey; go with the fixed menu. Good wine list. Staff was excellent. Food was good, but expectations were that it would better. Pay attention to what the waiter says about the heat of the oven/grill. Our steaks were overdone from high heat.
I had a fantastic experience at Ruth’s Chris Steak House, and I want to give a special shoutout to Lenoka our bartender, who truly made the evening memorable. From the moment we sat at the bar, Lenoka was super nice and professional. Her cocktail recommendations were spot-on, and she created such a welcoming atmosphere—it felt like we were longtime regulars. Her service was not only efficient but also full of personality and care. I even received a small thank-you card from her (attaching picture with this review), which speaks volumes about the attention to detail and guest care this location provides. It's rare to experience this level of personal service these days, and it genuinely stood out. Highly recommend sitting at the bar if Lenoka is working—you’ll be in great hands. Can’t wait to return!
Took my daughter here for her birthday (Thanksgiving Day). The wait staff was okay - had to make requests repeatedly. My daughter's steak was rare. The manager fixed it immediately. The food was delicious. The wait staff was nice but had to make multiple requests for the same thing.
Concierge was fanatic and our server was entertaining Food took a bit too long IMO, but the quality was there. I liked it, but just felt like was something was missing to take it over the top and justify 5/5 4/5 but I will definitely be back!
We had dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steak House and overall had a really nice experience. The food was well-prepared and flavorful — the steak was cooked perfectly and very tender, and the shrimp cocktail was fresh and nicely presented. The sides were generous, especially the mashed potatoes and baked potato, though the bread was a bit underwhelming. The atmosphere was elegant and calm, perfect for a relaxed evening, and the lighting added a cozy touch. Service was attentive and professional, though it felt slightly rushed at times. Prices are definitely on the higher end, but you can tell it’s meant to be a fine dining experience. Overall, it’s a great spot for a special occasion or a nice night out — quality food and a classic steakhouse vibe.
We love Ruth's, so if there is any chance to visit, we will. This night was actually for my birthday. We were visiting DC and decided to celebrate. We made a reservation and notified them it was for my birthday. When we got there, the traditional "birthday" table set up wasn't there. After we ordered food, our waiter came over and asked if we were celebrating anything, we mentioned it was my birthday. He let us know they'd have a dessert for us. Once we finished eating, he brought over the bill and had no dessert. We ended up asking for it to go. Again, we love Ruth's. The food is always so delicious. However, for the price you pay and considering the occasion, the details count. You're truly paying for the entire experience. Hopefully, this was a one-off kinda night.
Been a Ruth’s Chris fan for decades. But the last couple visits (this one included) have been somewhat disappointing. The steaks are consistently good, well seasoned, and usually cooked as ordered. But when I ask for “extra, extra butter…like swimming in it” and it comes out without extra butter, it’s a bummer.(Admittedly, my arteries don’t need extra-extra butter, but that’s a separate discussion). The bigger bummer was when I specifically asked the server for a WARM bread pudding to go. She said that was doable. When I got the dessert, clearly it was just pulled from the fridge and put in a to-go container. Strike two. If they could match attentive, quality service to the longstanding quality of their food, five-stars all day.
This was my first time ever at Ruth’s Chris steakhouse and it was a lackluster experience. I had dinner with 3 other ladies, 3 of us ordered steak and one orders the stuffed chicken. I ordered the 11oz steak(medium) and lobster classic, with garlic mashed potatoes and a steakhouse salad. The salad and lobster were delicious, the steak and potatoes were not. My steak was definitely rare and not flavorful, my potatoes came to the table cold. I sent the steak back and it returned medium well. I had to remind our server that a desert came with the meal and asked him to package it to go for me. The best part of dinner was the great company I had with my friends while I was in town. Our server was pleasant he was just very slow. We saw several tables be seated, eat and leave before we got our desert. Our server was not very present and it took us a long time to get every element of dinner including our checks. I will try Ruth’s Chris again, just not this one.
This was my first time at the Ruth’s Chris. We decided to go there for Thanksgiving. We went to the downtown DC location and it was busy. Food was per usual - Delish. Service - Our server nice was enough, but had no personality and didn’t really understand the flow of things. I don’t think there were enough servers or people just weren’t doing their jobs. Never once was our water refilled. After asking 4 times we got bread but wasn’t until 3/4 of the way through our meal. She kept telling us it was cooking which may have been true - but what was that about!? Atmosphere - dress code was out the door here. People came in whatever.
We came here for my daughter’s birthday, and we were seated near the bar, not in the dining room. It was loud, and completely lacked the atmosphere we had hoped to achieve. The bench seat was very uncomfortable as well. We had not been to a Ruth’s Chris in years, and apparently the menu has changed. Items we once enjoyed were no longer on the menu, and the food we had was not nearly as delicious. Honestly, it was quite mediocre. The service was ok, but not what I had come to expect from Ruth’s Chris.
Super slow service…it wasn’t even busy. The server took forever with our drinks and didn’t really check on our party of 6. BUT the food was worth the wait! Malbec was great, petite steak was great, shareable sides great! Must try the sweet potatoes casserole and creamed spinach.
It was our first time at this location. The food was average. Steak was cooked well, sides were smaller than other RC locations. Server did not check on the table on a timely manner. Had to ask for her a few times. She did not respond timely when making request.
Tried this restaurant for the first time on New Year's Eve at about 9:45pm. The decor and the vibe was solid for the overall price point. The appetizers were alright. The Caesar Salad is as expected. The Calamari was interesting since it was wet (but not soggy) rather than the traditional crunchy - still enjoyable. The Artichoke Dip was probably the best appetizer - hearty, filling, and flavorful. I ordered the Ruth's Classic, which came with the French Onion Soup to start. This was much more greasy and oily than expected, with a pungent flavor. The Filet was beyond lovely though. A thorough buttery texture with each bite satisfying. The topped shrimp were pretty ordinary and non-interesting. The sides paired well and were just as great. The unfortunate negative review is due to service. I realize it was a busy time, but people cleared out of the restaurant 30 minutes after arrival - as mentioned by the server. However the lack of attention and competence was still felt through the end of the meal. It took 10 minutes to be given water, an additional 10 minutes to be given my Old Fashioned. (The servers actually ran around with it in the dining hall to find who ordered it.) By the time I received it, the smoke flourish had long dissipated. A Sprite was also ordered and we were served Club Soda three times after informing the server and sending the drink back. They eventually stopped trying and were served Coke. When we were asked for a refill on the Coke, we said yes, but it didn't come. We checked in on getting the refill, but didn't get one for the next 30 minutes we were seated. We wanted to pay part of the bill with a gift card and the rest with Apple Pay. I went up to the POS with them and found that they couldn't apply it without manager approval, and the manager-on-duty couldn't be found for another 5-10 minutes. For this price point, I'd expect the service to be a bit more buttoned-up. The meat was some of the best I've had, but the service did sour the overall feeling of the night.
Ordered the baked lobster Mac and cheese. Had to return it. They broil the Mac and cheese so it was crispy on the top and complete running cheese throughout. The cheese was top quality but that is not how baked Mac and cheese goes. So I only had a Cesar salad.
My meal last night was absolutely disgusting. When the tab is $155 and I travel from Maryland, the expectation is that I will have an enjoyable dinner. The complimentary bread was hard as a rock, steak unseasoned and burnt around the edges, runny crab cakes which is incredibly weird, unstrained and very watery spinach - like everything was just awful! This will be my first and last time at this location. Staffers are also in dire need of training and an attitude adjustment b/c the service is abysmal. My aunt, who happens to be an executive at a nearby office building and frequents this location, usually substitutes her creamed spinach for sautéed spinach. Calling in to get this simple modification was insufferable, as Evelyn was incapable of assisting us. Instead, she informed me that a modification could not be made because the spinach comes "pre-made"... whatever that means. I'm still not sure what one had to do with the other or what the correlation was but I digress. After informing her that I would like my meal made fresh to order and it's as simple as informing the kitchen of the change or getting a manager on the phone, she insisted that he was busy and left me on hold for over 20 minutes to go get the "chef". I don't understand how the chef would have time to speak with a customer about food substitutions when his job is to be in the kitchen. That is YOUR job Evelyn. Nonetheless, when I arrived, Ros was able to get it sorted out and apologized for me having to wait for the sautéed spinach to be prepared (when it could've and should've been ready upon arrival). And I do appreciate her efforts and hospitality. However, for all the trouble, I 1000% expected the food to be good. And it just wasn't! Incredibly disappointing experience and a HUGE waste of my time. My aunt said she was going to email the general manager, Thomas Menzel(something) because apparently she knows him but I told her not to bother. I definitely won't be back and she probably won't either. I'll stick to the locations in Maryland that I usually go to.
My daughter went there with her best friend before returning to her own place in Seattle. She left behind her overpriced lamb chops and brussel sprouts. All I can say is FLAVORLESS. OMG! YUK
My daughter was charged an additional $200 and something on her check. She celebrated her birthday here, was given one bill of which was paid. When she checked her account later there was an additional charge. She called the restaurant many times and left messages about the charge and no one has contacted her. This is going on week 2. Is there another way to contact this restaurant? Thank you.
