I live out of state now, at least 8 1/2 hours away, first thing I do when I come home is stop at jrecks!! I miss it so much. And, when I leave. I stop and ask if they can make me subs and put everything separate so u can take it home to eat later. They are generally pretty good about it when I tell them how far away I live. They feel the struggle.

Fantastic food and service as always (even though their menu differs from franchise to franchise which can be frustrating). The staff are friendly and use great sanitation practices so there was no chance of cross-contamination.

I have at least 5 jreck subs when I go back home to visit. They are so good, I have even paid 127.00 to have my sister in law ship them next day. The sour creme fries are awesome

A local staple. Everyone has relatives who moved away that *have* to go to Jreck when they visit. They have a large menu of sandwich options, and there are even more sandwiches that aren't even on the menus. They have a ton of sides to pick from too. Service is always fast and efficient.

These are by far the best subs (possibly I’ve ever had). The bread is delicious and they are generous with the meat and toppings. This is a must try for anyone. This particular location is always fresh and delicious.

I was at this Arsenal St. location this past Wednesday, 27 September. Everything was absolutely fantastic. The employees were extremely friendly, kind, quick, and just all-around great. The store was clean, and everyone in there was in a great mood probably because of the great service they had received. To top it off we, my food was made perfectly and quickly. Very happy and wanted to share.

I visited the Arsenal Street location, on 10/26/24, and was so relieved to receive the service that was rendered. I had left a funeral and was tasked with finding food to feed more people than anticipated, at the reception. I stopped into Jreck’s, hoping they would accommodate my urgent request for a sub platter tray. Upon entering, I was greeted with friendly smiles. The ladies behind the counter, were surprisingly willing to help me in my quest for food. They had the platter completed in less than 30 minutes and helped deliver it to my vehicle! ( For context, industry standard, for food platters, generally request a minimum of 24 hours notice.) I should have left a tip, but wasn’t carrying cash. Needless to say, but I’ll return again and tip generously upon the next visit!

I have loved JRECK since the first sandwich I had 14 years ago when I was visiting family in NY (living in Texas at the time). Since then, my family and I have planned our trips around making sure we'd get at least one JRECK sandwich. Last year, my family relocated full time and Jrecks *literally* was one of our top 10 factors in weighing our options... I should have left a review at that time, but I recently had an experience that just blew me away and I needed to share. Due to a miscommunication, I found myself needing food for 30 with about 2 hours notice, while this is absolutely not recommended, and not a situation I'd encourage anyone to end up in, JRECKs on Arsenal not only came through for me, but guided me on the popular recommendations. They made the whole process easier than I could have imagined. While my future large orders will be made with the required 24hrs notice, Danielle and her team took the situation and ran with it, while also not making me feel like the inconvenience I was. They packed sauces, utensils, and toppings to give the full JRECKs experience even off-site. 10/10 experience and can't wait for my next sub.

I honestly had thee Best service here today! The team working were not only welcoming, but sweet, and I felt my order was genuinely cared for by literally everyone. Felt that love go right into my food ha! And my grandparents were also beyond thankful 😉 Only pitfal is not having any gluten-free bread options, then I'd be 100% happy.

Nothing better than a jreck sub when we come back to Watertown. Always the 1st stop!! The service is amazing, the new place is BEAUTIFUL!

I had a half chicken parmesan sub on a tender sub roll, and creamy potato soup. They were both hot and delicious. I would definitely go there again. I was there shortly after the main lunch hour and the service was quick and good.

The staff at this Jreck Subs was super friendly and very quick at getting all of the orders done with quite a line at the time of our visit(lunch hour rush). The restaurant was very clean and organized as well. We will definitely be back for many more visits very soon! Also, the painting on the window(done by an employee) was amazing! You guys have got to check out this Jreck Subs! Well done!👌

Very friendly, listened and delivered amazing service. We were outta state and wanted to take some home with us and they were very patient and amazing. We always look forward to these subs when we visit home and they just made it so much easier. We've been to other locations and they didn't put as much effort or try to help is make it easier for the ride back like they did. We don't get an opportunity to visit Jreck Subs that often since we don't have any where we live. Whenever we're up in the North Country though, we never miss the chance. The staff are always friendly and efficient and the food is delicious! Hopefully one day they'll expand down into the Southern Tier.

Stopped here on the way back from Canada for lunch. Sub was good, the bread was fresh, and the staff was friendly. I didn't realize they had pickles since they are shredded. The lady making my sandwich pulled my sandwich back out of the bag and put some on for me (after I mentioned it was fine haha).

Food was good, the bathroom was immaculate and the woman making my sub called me handsome. Would come back.

We were there Monday October 14th, around 11:45 and the three ladies working were absolutely wonderful. Totally worth the trip from Canada for a steak and cheese sub!

Physically, the place is not what one would call a destination. It's somewhat tricky to get in and out of the small parking lot when Arsenal street is busy. The restaurant is very clean, well layed out for mostly takeout, but has also a good size seating area. The good parts are the food and the service. At first look, the food looks ordinary; but everything is just very, very good. The service is excellent, the staff is always well trained, efficient and super friendly.

This was the cleanest Jrecks I have been in a a very long time. There are also the happiest staff and someone always has a broom in their hands. All other Locations should take some lessons from this staff. Everything was perfect, thank you!

Came here today with my sister and had the steak sub to share. The service was beyond 5 stars. So friendly and polite. The food… beyond 5 stars. So delicious and fresh. My sister told me it was the best steak sub she’s ever had prior to me going there and she wasn’t lying. And with service like that I’m shocked it’s not lined up out the door. As Canadians, I will 100 percent make the special trip to come out here! Thank you for a great experience today.

When a work meeting ran much longer than expected, I suddenly found myself needing lunch fast—for 14 people. My first thought? Sub platters from Jrecks. I headed to the Arsenal Street location, explained the situation, and without missing a beat, the staff said, “Absolutely!” and got to work right away. I wanted to take a sub with me on my 12 hr road trip. Evan who works there hooked me up to make sure when I was ready to eat my sub that it was still fresh. He wrapped everything separate, meat, cheese, lettuce, and tomato, and put pickles, peppers, mayo, and oil in little dishes and cut my sub roll but wrapped that up as well. When I put together my sub and ate it literally about 13 hrs later after keeping it in the cooler, it tasted like I just ordered it. It was all fresh, with no soggyness and Evan was so helpful and didn't make me feel like an inconvenience. Inside the dinning area is private and ple ty of space to enjoy your food and was very clean. I would definitely recommend this jrecks over any other location.

The customer service is impeccable!!! The new location is actually across the street from the current directions on Google maps. The store is ALWAYS clean, the people behind the counter are always welcoming, friendly and attentive to details! Today my servers were Kelly Jo, Danielle, Darinda and the lovely Sarah. They offered recommendations, asked about add ons and smiled through the whole ordeal. Can’t say enough about this place! I will always stop at this location when I’m in town! Best sub shop around!

Terrific friendly staff. These subs are very different then most sandwich makers. The flavoring and seasoning along with the types of meat and breads they use, are a great combination. They offer both hot and cold subs, half and full. There Italian talks for itself. The staff are friendly and courteous. You must try. Just came back again and love it

I got an Italian combo sub meal deal on a sun dried tomato roll. These subs just bring tears of joy and pride in my northern new York heritage. They messed up the order and made regular fries instead of the sour cream fries I ordered. No biggie. Absolutely delicious, for around ten bucks. Get one if you're visiting. Get one anyway.

This particular Jreck shop, from my view for setting based atmosphere, was admirably very good and similar to pizza hut. It offers you to eat in or take out. Eating inside places customers backwards to front door foyer area. All seats facing the outside view in a bench picnic table type seating. The store at first glance, as well as not anymore dissimilar closer detail observations, we're clean n sanitary. Staff was friendly, understanding, mannered and all food is made to order or fresh from the ingredient deli.🥇

It's really good but really pricey. I usually only go when I have a coupon. And I really wish they would keep some of their breads for the month longer than just a month. They had a spinach parmesan bread that was outstanding and only had it once before it was gone. Sucks.

JRECK is a local chain with approximately 25 locations. I have visited this location multiple times, and I have been most impressed with the consistently friendly service I have received when there. Buying a sub is a simple act; it's nice to be greeted with a smile and some friendly small-talk. Food-wise, the menu is adequate. This is a sub shop, after all, not a fine dining. There are some deep-fried options, such as deep-fried pickle chips, pizza logs (egg rolls stuffed with pepperoni and cheese--delicious), deep fried cheese curds, and of course, french fries. JRECK doesn't offer a lot of toppings for their subs, but their toppings cover the basics, and I got no push-back or surcharge when I asked for extra tomato slices on one of my subs. Portions are very healthy, and the prices are reasonable for what you get. Parking is adequate for the size of this location. It can be a bit awkward getting out of this location if you need to make a left turn across traffic.

Way better than the subway we are used to in Iowa. Less bun and more meat and cheese. Would definitely recommend if you like subs.

Food was ok, didn't have much meat on the subs, one worker didn't listen well to what we said for what we wanted on the subs. We asked if they had banana peppers she looked at us and quickly tossed a load of hot peppers on the sub, then as she added the shakers (asked for shakers no oil) she put oil on it. They don't toast the subs either there. There was chicken in our fries. And the one worker who wasn't listening to what we asked for was extremely rude and disrespectful. Won't be going here again.

Pretty good spot, the jolly fat naval captain on their sign can really draw you in. As you walk in you leave the commotion of arsenal street and enter a friendly boathouse sub shop. It's very similar to subway but with less selection and more cost. They do offer a wide variety of sides like battered broccoli and cheese. The staff is very friendly.

Food was a little wet bread was soggy and wouldn’t stay together

Called in an order today and paid for it over the phone for my parents to pick up. I did the 4 for 3 subs Sunday special. The italian did not have meat on it and the toppings were incorrect on my sons sub. I did not want to drive all the way back so I just put ham from my fridge on the meatless sub and scraped off the hot peppers on my sons sub. Usually pretty good at this location so I will take it as a one off.

When I moved to NY and had my first sub from Jrecks, it was literally the best one I’d ever had. The rolls were 🤌🏻. Recently I had been craving it for weeks, so I finally stopped for one. I was SO disappointed. I’m not sure whose idea it was to change the rolls but please, please, please change them back! The others changes are great. The Customer service was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly, and The new location was very clean, but sadly, I won’t go back because the rolls are horrible. Please go back to the original ones.

JUST DONT!!! If you want a HOAGIE don’t go here- skimps on meat - ie 2 slices of ham 1 slice cheese on half hoagie then loaded w lettuce -even dry the lettuce makes bread soggy does any place in NY know how to make a good hoagie!?!?

I have been eating JRECK subs for 50 years. Today I purchased a roast beef on white. The roll has changed and it is not the fresh white roll it once was. The new roll is dry and has no taste. Sorry but that is what made the JRECK sub. Mr. Hailey, Lehman, Nutter and Waltz would roll in their graves if they knew the roll would of changed. I hope I am not the only one who is complaining of the change.

Yikes, what happened to Jrecks? Very recently moved back to the area after 8 years and of course this was the first place my husband and I wanted food from. We went to Jrecks last night to get subs, took two bites, and threw them away. The bread was dark colored and resembled/tasted like large versions of disgustingly sweet hot dog buns. Sweet bread and Mayo/onions/oil do not mix. First time I’ve ever had a sub with that kind of roll and I certainly never want to experience that again. The girl who made my sub even had to take the meat and cheese off and replace my roll because it crumbled while she was trying to put it together (should have been my first red flag). Super disappointed and unfortunately wont be back until changes are made.

Food was absolutely tragic, worst food I have had from any sub shop, staff was nice enough but the cashier charged us for a drink we didn’t ask for, soup had zero flavor, very watery, sandwich was bland and overpriced. $30 not well spent.
