My partner and I stopped by Pavé our first morning in NYC. I didn’t realize that the caprese sandwich I ordered was going to come on olive ciabatta. I never eat olives and strongly dislike them, but Pavé somehow reeled me in and got me absolutely hooked on this bread. THAT’s just how good it is. I had to get 6 of their olive ciabatta and 6 baguettes to take home and share with family. Pavé will be a staple go-to for any time I visit NYC in the future!
Lovely service and atmosphere - great place to come in from the cold and relax, grab a drink and a great pastry
Good french style food. Nice quiet place to take a break from the noisy streets around
7:30 am, hot or cold, Pave is a welcoming place to come sit and enjoy the best espresso in NYC accompanied by a lemon madeleine, a financier or rosemary scone and some Miles Davis or Yo-Yo Ma. It really sets you up for a wonderful day at work. The attention to detail of all the employees is really noticeable too. They all care a lot for their craft. 11/10!! Pastries are available at opening, other items are available after 8. Their menu is excellent!
This café/bakery is absolutely stunning. Very comfortable seating with a cozy/warm vibe and delicious food! Their focaccia is light and flavorful. All of their baked goods are delicious: thick chocolate cookies, rich matcha scones, and light and fresh lemon madeleines; how could you not stop by and try one? Their sandwich section is my personal favorite! I love jambon beurre, and this place did not disappoint. The perfect texture of the baguette, the rich butter flavor, and the generous amount of French ham reminded me of jambon beurre from Paris. This place adds little bit of seratonin in your busy New York life. It could be a quick grab-and-go breakfast spot or a cute little brunch spot with your friends and people you care about.
My new favorite. Great atmosphere, terrific coffee and food and helpful, friendly staff. A marvelous discovery for me and I can’t wait to bring my friends. Thank you
Hands down the best latte in town! The baristas remember my order, and the cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for reading or catching up with friends. Their cinnamon rolls are heavenly, always fresh and warm. My happy & current favorite place for sure! 10/10 recommended!
Madison Bordier Butter sold here, best butter in the world and many of their pastries are made with it, their flavor reflects that quality ingredient.
I finally found the place where they know how to make real Baguette. Their Croissants are high quality too. Tomatoes on the salad are delicious and nicely matched with their dressing. I would love to learn how to make this salad dressing. Small opening in the front, but surprisingly spacious in the back. I would love to come back and try everything on their menu.
High quality cafe - great coffee, sandwiches and pastries. Very friendly personnel. Very pleasant interior and atmosphere. Definitely coming back. 😀
A nice cozy place with great coffee, fast service, and whatever you order to eat, you will like it. We visit it every time we come to New York and never regretted it.
Incredible gem in nyc (jewlery district) offering tasty treats, light fare, coffees and select wine for the afternoon and after work crowd. I live on the avocado toast, croque monsieur, rosemary scone and iced latte. The dining in area is cute and perfect to get quick work done. Also the staff is amazing above and beyond cool and friendly. Perfect oasis from the hustle and bustle outside.
Coffee & pastry were exceptional. Wish I had a chance to try the fantastic looking sandwiches. Staff was so nice. Will definitely go back next time I'm in town.
A fantastic cup of coffee in Midtown. They use great roasters from around the country which is fun. Pastries are solid as well but their coffee is really on another level.
The jambon beurre from Pavé is so slept on! I was obsessed with jambon beurres for a few months and tried many across the city — from l’ami pierre, ALF, le petit parisien, madame bonté, etc and Pavé is by far the best. The bread is so fragrant and fresh, you can really taste the butter (they are generous with it!) and the ham is just salty enough. In my opinion, Pavé has the best jambon beurre in all of NYC.
I ordered a baguette, but the staff informed me that I would need to wait 10 minutes for a fresh batch. I really appreciated this, as they brought me a hot, freshly baked baguette, neatly packed in a bag with a handle. This made it easy for me to carry it all the way home to Long Island. It was delicious!
I heard about Pavé the day before my visit. What caught my attention was the endorsement that it had the best fresh breads. I love bread. The next day the sunshine made so happy, that I walked to Pavé. The store is cute and has outdoor seating. It smells yummy and has enough options to make you pause and think about that you want as a first-timer, but not too many that you are overwhelmed. I ordered bread and butter, and a Burrata Salad. The bread was fresh, and my salad delicious. I will return. I want to try the hot chocolate next and a sandwich. If you're looking for a simple place with amazing bread, fast service, and outdoor seating, try Pavé. If you want tea and a place to sit and chat, try Pavé.
Great food, great ambiance, great service. Had the sourdough Croque Monsieur and it was fantastic. The iced chocolate was done very well, as was the coffee. The chocolate chip cookie was a tad too sweet for my liking, but had the right texture/crunch/moist to it. My new favourite bakery in the area.
Pavé is a little oasis tucked into the chaos of Midtown Manhattan. Outside, it’s the usual New York symphony of honking cars, jostling pedestrians and never ending construction. But step through the mint-green doors, and it’s a completely different world: calm classical music, warm lighting, and the gentle scent of freshly baked bread. Service is fast and surprisingly well-coordinated for a busy shop—orders are taken and served quickly, and there’s even table service, which adds a touch of hospitality rare in this part of town. I tried the smoked salmon sandwich: the fish was indeed salty (as expected), but the baguette had a great chew without being tough, and the green-onion cream cheese was wonderfully rich and flavorful. Cappuccino was above average—smooth and satisfying. Bonus points for selling SEY coffee beans and for a quirky little detail: you have to solve a mini puzzle to get the WiFi password. Thoughtful touches like that, combined with quality food and a serene atmosphere, make Pavé a lovely Midtown stop.
The best baguette I have ever had in my entire life. It was freshly baked, warm, and perfectly crispy on the outside while soft and chewy on the inside. The bread flavor was amazing. We also got some other sweets such as pound cake, green tea scone, chocolate chip cookie, and drinks. We went back a second time because it was so good. I highly recommend coming here if you love baked goods and bread!
A 10/10 study or work cafe in Midtown area: good pastries, decent coffee, ample seating, clean restroom, and free wifi. It gets busier on weekdays afternoon, but it's still easy to secure a table. *Mushroom Potato Foccacia They heated up the foccacia for me, giving it the soft and chewy texture. The bottom didn't soak in oil like sometimes the other foccacia does. *Matcha Scone The matcha scone was studded with white chocolate chips. The two flavor complemented each other pretty well even I am not a fan of white choc. The matcha was distinguishable but on the milder side. It was baked with crispy edges. *Latte Smooth and silky milk foam with beautiful latte art. It created a great chemistry with the nutty espresso base.
Some of the places around the area might have good food but we wouldn't know because they don't always have big enough seating to accommodate 5 people. Here at Pave, not only with ample seating, they are cozy and welcoming! We arrived in the morning and got all the different sandwiches they had on the menu, one plain baguette and one slice of pound cake. All were delicious. They thoughtfully bought the baguette to us cut into 5 pieces warmed with butter on the side. It was so very crusty on the outside and chewy inside with perfect amount of saltiness! Trust me, you'll want to return for more because we are!
Taking a chance on a new cute spot did not disappoint! I ordered a breve latte, added their scrumptious brown sugar syrup and the chorizo zucchini focaccia and give that combo a 12/10. Stop by for some yummy treats and a beautiful vibe inside.
Beautiful café! Pavé has a great aesthetic and vibe. Nice spot to work while enjoying all of their pastries and sandwiches. The salad was also very good... light and refreshing with the lemon vinaigrette. All of their breads are on point, but the baguette definitely stole the show for me! Will be a regular for sure.
How did I not know about this place?? Tasty European sandwiches - my favorites are the Jambon Beurre and Saucisson Sec. The multigrain baguette is the way to go with any sandwich. Will be back to try all the other goodies!
I swear I have Stockholm Syndrome with this cafe — I find myself drawn back every time I am in the City! The intimate setting, impeccable service, and insane food quality. Highly recommend their oat milk lattes, green tea scone, and honestly any of their baguette sandwiches. My favorite brunch cafe in all of New York and will forever be back!
Excellent cafe to sit down and take a break. There are many seats in the back and the wifi is reliable. The staff is very friendly. I only had a quick cold brew and a banana bread slice as a snack, but did enjoy them both. Would come back to try the other interesting food options.
Such a cute little shop! Their bread was hands down the best I had. Even hours after ordering (bread and butter) that I got around to eating it, it still tasted so fresh! The staff was very kind and efficient. I had their orange juice and it tastes so fresh, not sure if it is freshly squeezed.. They were very busy, as almost all seating was full. Not only do they have food and pastries, they offer a variety of coffee/teas/drinks.
The food is great, the service is good and the prices are reasonable. I eat in this very nice place at least once a month. Love their Turkey croissant sandwich and their salmon sandwich. The coffee is very good too! I recommend this place.
Wonderful find in midtown. The baguettes are on point, a thin crunch on the outside with a very moist and airy medium. The jambon beurre is the top top top recommendation, with a lovely fatty butter and a tangy mustard and a thinly sliced meat that work perfectly together. The country pâte had those great moist chunks of meat and fat and flavor, soft enough for the baguette but not a paste as is often found in NYC. The drip coffee was on point, actually being not too hot with the water. The atmosphere is great, with a front part for the quick socialization and a back part for the deeper chats. Use the front to work or to say hi quickly. If you need to give dating advice or career advice, get some coffee and sandwiches and go to the back. The staff are excellent and ensure the area is clean, making the cafe easy to enjoy. For coffee nerds, I was told Tuesdays are when you can get the pourovers (their lineup looks legit). Highly highly recommend, this will be a place I visit frequently as long as I work in midtown.
Pavé was such a lovely surprise in the middle of busy Midtown. It’s a small, cozy place that instantly makes you feel relaxed, a perfect escape from the usual city madness just a few steps away. The staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming, the kind of service that makes you want to stay a bit longer. Breakfast was excellent, beautifully prepared, and the coffee was really good - exactly what you need to start a New York day properly. We liked it so much that we actually went back a second time, which says it all. If you’re looking for a calm, charming spot with great breakfast and coffee in Midtown, Pavé is definitely worth a visit
Amazing cafe - spot on food, service, and vibe. We absolutely loved it. Order at counter - lots of choices from pastries to sandwiches. Plenty of seating in back with cosy vibe. Service was friendly and personal. Food was excellent - we loved the sandwich with melted cheese and ham… genuine raclette by the kitchen. Very cool. Highly recommend.
Pavé in Midtown is such a lovely escape from the Midtown rush. I ordered the passion fruit brioche and the green tea scone — both were delicate and beautifully made. The brioche had a soft, buttery crumb with just the right touch of tropical tang from the passion fruit, not overly sweet but full of flavor. The green tea scone was fragrant and slightly earthy, perfectly balanced with a tender texture instead of being dry like most scones. The space itself feels calm and refined, filled with the scent of freshly baked bread and espresso. Service is friendly but relaxed, and everything feels quietly confident. A perfect spot to pause and treat yourself to something genuinely well-crafted.
I had the most unforgettable salmon sandwich in my life. I modified it to be on a croissant, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget it. It was savory, slightly slightly sweet from the croissant, creamy, crunchy, tangy, FLAVOR BOMB. The capers, dill, and onions added such an amazing freshness to the sandwich, and the cream cheese also tasted out of this world. I don’t know how it was so good, but I will dream about this place after I leave NY. The coffees we got were not my favorite, the flavor of the coffee itself was a little weak, and Im not sure if it’s because they do one shot in their lattes or…. I tried a plain latte so I was hoping for something a little stronger, but maybe it was just my fault I didn’t size down to a smaller cup. My husband is picky with coffee too, except he’s picky in the way that he needs it diabetically sweet. Even asking for extra sweet, it wasn’t sweet enough for him (more of a him problem than anything else lol), so be warned if you like reaalllyy sweet coffee. There were lots of places to sit at here, and the house was full. It must be a pretty popular place for locals and tourists alike. The service was also great, the guy taking our order was very kind and friendly. I would go there again for the food, but perhaps not the coffee for my personal taste.
Avocado toast is one of those things that are on almost every menu and hardly ever worth the price lol. This place is different! Every time I’m in NY, I come here for their toast and a latte. Fresh food, clean place with ample seating, and good service. I recommend it if you need a quick breakfast on the way to work!
This has to be one of the best coffee shops in New York City! I heard about Pave after eating at Noreetuh. The quality that we had at Pave was great! The baguettes had the perfect texture and were fresh, I even saw them baking some in their ovens. The Country Pate was amazing and my wife loved it. We also got the Truffle Baguette which was also really good! The Canale I had was super good! And lastly my cappuccino was the best I can remember in NYC! If you’re looking for a great vibe, great coffee, and not way over pay! You need to check this place out!
If you’re someone who appreciates the craft of a good sourdough or the crunch of a perfectly made baguette, Pavé will feel like a dream. The bakery is small, but everything inside from the crusty loaves to the delicate pastries feels meticulously made. Their coffee program holds its own too, making it easy to stay longer than planned. There’s nothing overdone here just honest ingredients, gentle hospitality, and a vibe that feels like a quiet corner of Europe in the middle of Manhattan.
A cute ambiance, pretty colors and wide selection of drinks. Feels homey and non-chainy, a rare find for a midtown. But $1 extra for plant based milks is ridiculous (only 3 kind are available). The matcha is very diluted, barely light green. Could be more generous for $6. Lots if seating inside in the back.
Great place for coffee and breakfast. While it doesn't look as buzzing and "instagramable" as nearby Maman, I would pick Pavé any day off the week. I had a cortado and a croissant, the latter being a barometer for whether a bakery knows their stuff. The croissant has a great taste, but like many American bakeries, they overdo the size. It had good flakiness, leaning a bit too much to crunchiness, but it was still a good croissant. They nailed the cortado, so even though it's not necessarily a coffee shop, I'd come back for it. The staff was super nice and seem to know exactly what they're doing. Definitely recommend Pavé!
The place offers unique food that is not always found in typical Manhattan eateries. Products seem high quality, but it's all on the expensive side: the products in the photo cost $29. At that price range I'd expect the salad to be served with a piece of bread. If you don't mind the price, there are plenty of interesting dishes to try here.
Not the best cafe I've been to in terms of food and ambiance, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. Nothing bad about it. I got a Vanilla Iced Latte, which was too milky to enjoy. The plain croissant was good. Expensive but typical New York prices. In terms of working, there is pretty much one outlet per table and reliable WiFi. My friends and I were here for a couple hours to work, and they didn't rush us out at any point which was great. Wouldn't come back here though because of the mediocre food.
Coffee tastes good, food was max. average, service was bad - people don't smile there. Would avoid this place or just buy coffee to go.
Unfortunately I think their coffee is getting worse - which is a shame because I loved it when first going. The espresso is thin, with next to no crema, and tastes watery. Their milk drinks leave a bit to be desired tasting overly milky and zero attention to detail when pouring. Food always looks great though and vibes are unmatched there, and it’s a great cafe escape in midtown.
It would be a cute place to sit for coffee and a pastry, if the coffee and pastries were better. I ordered an iced americano which was so light that it looked like iced tea. When I asked how many shots were in it, the barista was rude and walked away from me. I ended up buying (wasting money on) something different because it was like drinking dirty water. The avocado toast was bland, with ice cold tomatoes, although the multigrain bread was nice. The croissants were tough and tasted a little stale, which was a surprise since they were just named some of the best in NY and the cafe claims to make them fresh throughout the day. Overall the staff are rude, the coffee is way too watery, and the food is mediocre. There are better cafes within a few blocks.
The avocado toast was one small piece of toast with a thin smear of avocado--totally unsatisfying even for a light breakfast. The pastries were dry and stale. A total disappointment. I would not recommend this place to anybody.
The place is nice and clean with nice atmosphere . The cofee is good However they may want to make there Coffes little hotter. It's low temperature. Also. Some of the servers Must take hospitality training to how to behave with there guests. Rudeness is not an option
Went in for the first time, and my drink was made very poorly with honey syrup all glopped together (wasn’t even remotely sweet tasting and awful texture from the honey syrup) - I asked the cashier very politely if I could get another flavor of latte instead. They looked at me like I had 4 heads and said that I could stir it up or add in syrup in the already messed up beverage. I asked if I could please just get a new drink with it corrected, they said they needed to “check” with the barista. I waited for over 5-6 min with my crying child only to find out they wouldn’t remake it and told me I simply needed to just “stir it up”. So I went straight to the barista myself and said, could you please remake this for a vanilla latte? They also looked at me like I had four heads and did not respond just stared at me, so I stood there waiting on a reply then finally they said OK fine. Took them another 5 to 6 minutes to make that. I might also have the shop is not very busy at this time so no need for the long wait times. They finally remade it but all of that ridiculous hassle I went through while my child was crying was unnecessary and took an additional probably 15 minutes or more just to go through all of that I will definitely not be back. Very unpleasant experience
Very disappointing experience overall. The cafe looks nice and has a cosy seating area packed with people on their laptops. Staff are nice but slow, coffee was a bit of a wait. My espresso was unpleasantly sour and the matcha scone was flavorless, dry and rock solid.
First we were greeted rudely, told to read the sign above that says “line starts here” when we kindly ask where do we order! Our coffee was warm water with a hint of coffee. When we asked if we can get anything stronger, the barista huffed and said “our coffee beans are light and brew like tea”….which honestly based on first impression and greet, it really tasted like it got pressed using left over beans from a previous coffee. When the barista remade our coffee she didn’t bother making eye contact or bringing it to our table. Never again.
I was a regular at this cozy cafe that feels unique amongst the high end and expensive options in Midtown. But the staff are so uniformly unfriendly and often rude that I had to find a new local spot to get my morning coffee and sandwich. Plenty of other options with staff that take the trouble to be polite to their customers.
