At Rustico Il Restorante, they certainly know how to take care of the ladies! Amazing food and deserts so yummy! We had one of each! Thank you to the chef, the servers and the beautiful atmosphere!
Hubby and I enjoy coming here! The service is prompt and has a nice atmosphere. The food is always delicious and well prepared. The cocktail menu has a great selection. Desserts are delicious… great selection! They have patio seating, and parking is available at no charge.
Probably some of the best food I have ever had!
Impressed food and service. Food taste was excellent. Small cozy but casual elegant restaurant. Good place for special dinner. Anniversary.
Iconic. Hearty. Old-school 90s classy. Fine-dining feeling. Absolutely wonderful vibe. Live music was great! On a random Tuesday!
I returned on March 11th, 17 years since I last had dinner at Rustico (after having moved out of state) and found its quality had not faltered, food-wise and service-wise. Still tops! Roberto, co-owner and GM, was in his usual professional & warm demeanor. Master chef and co-owner Maurizio was not there but I experienced the superb imprint of his cooking nonetheless. Sharam, veteran waiter who’s been there for decades, was attentive as always, never short of recommendations. The warm octopus & calamari arugula salad was a delightful starter; the linguine with clams was flawless, the branzino was perfectly grilled, served with a unique sauce, the tiramisu was a classic winner. Nice touches too: the negroni cocktail was served in an elegant martini glass; the Sancerre, though by no means Italian, was a lovely white wine by the glass option. One thing: the elegant somewhat dark ambience might benefit from a facelift: how about a sunny & bright Puglian palette?
I wish I could give this place 100 stars. Unbelievable service, fresh food, I had a custom pork chop made for me tonight that is unbelievable. Really really incredible food and I highly recommend.
Awesome dinner & experience! Alberto(guitarist) told us to come watch him play on Mon & Tues, & have some of the best Italian food in the whole area. He was spot on & we will be back often for both! Thanks!
Last Saturday we had the best server ever, Anna. Pleasant, beautiful, smart with a wonderful personality. Food was delicious, specials were unlimited and deserts were creative. What a fabulous evening, thanks to Anna and all the chefs.
My first time at Rustico for my Mother's Birthday.. And let's just say I'm going back soon. The food is Excellent and everything I ate was served hot and was delicious!! Ask for the sangria if it's available!!!!
What a wonderful dining experience! The food was fantastic, the service top notch, the wine list excellent and the atmosphere relaxing. We will certainly be coming back.
The food was delicious. Smaller portions but delicious. The caprese salad needed more vinegar but they were very attentive. Linguini with clams was perfect. Very flavorful.
Excellent food and service. Our servers had an in depth knowledge of the menu including the extensive specials.
Great food and excellent service 👌
Rustico is one of my favorite Italian restaurants of all time. Whether we sit at the bar for a drink and/or food or at a table we always feel well attended to and the food is INCREDIBLE. The atmosphere is warm and elegant. It is often filled with locals.
Great restaurant! It is traditional Italian, with a great wine selection. The staff is very friendly. The food is always fresh, authentic, and delicious. I eat here whenever I visit LA.
Great experience...the Food outstanding, the service perfect since we arrived made us feel so special, our waitress Taylor very attentive and answered all our questions about the food... after dinner we just drank another round in the bar and Jose, the bartender was amazing, the coctail delicious... fantastic romantic night on Rustico..
Hosted my wife's 40th Birthday celebration here and it was a huge hit. The menu was great, everything was fresh, portions are perfect. Can't wait to go back.
Great Italian food and service. They make you feel right at home. Served hot quickly and friendly. Worth the money.
Amazing food and service. The owner is a lovely person, hard working and he does a lot of the cooking. Nice atmosphere too
This offshoot of the well-known Tuscany of Westlake Village offers many of the same menu items at slightly less prices in a casual environment. Family owned and operated, this is a 'must go to' when in the area. Their wood-burning oven and their ever present executive chef make this a wonderful Italian casual dining experience.
I enjoyed the eggplant parmesan, but in hindsight, I would have preferred a more simple pasta dish and gotten a salad. The stupid good for dessert was the talk of the table - it is stupid good!
We had our rehearsal lunch here and I can't say enough great things about them! The food, service, and ambiance were all great. We looked through so many places to hold our event and are sooo glad we came across Rustico! We had a large party and there were no problems at all, everyone raved about it! They were so easy to communicate with and we had the best time. I would 100% recommend this restaurant!
Each and every time that we have dinner here @ Rustico it is a true delight!! The atmosphere is comfortable, service outstanding and food is very delicious . Victoria is an Extraordinary-Server who is intentional & quite engaging!! She is very welcoming and makes you feel like you are the only person in the room. Can’t wait until our next time .
Always amazing. So yummy. Great vibe
A client took my boss, and the hole crew out to dinner at Rusticos an Italian restaurant It was excellent. You could tell the food was created by a real chef. Every bite was excellent. I had the salmon. I was impressed by everything they served . 5***** rating We loved our dinner
Surprised with live acoustic guitar - wonderful performance and variety of music. I was afraid my first amazing experience here could not be repeated, but this restaurant, owner, chef, staff are top notch! I was spoiled with family owned restaurants growing up back east and this reminds me of that high quality and amazing service! Rustico is a GEM!
This restaurant surprised me, fun energetic atmosphere for adults..not for young children. Full bar, wonderful experience bartenders, who have been working here for many years. The food was delicious and well thought out. The parking was easy and plentiful.
When we walked in, the owner greeted us warmly and when I told him this is our 1st Visit, he said we would have a phenomenal experience and if we didn't, to see him. The experience was indeed phenomenal.. I'm vegan and my wife is vegan and gluten free. They were able to accommodate us cheerfully. I had a pasta primavera and my wife had a customized Salad. Our server Anna Treated us well and promptly. It seemed like there was a busy and repeat clientele. I loved the Tuscan décor. Of course the Price point is higher than other restaurants in the area but you do get what you pay for.
The food was amazing. The brushette left me wanting more and the Caesar salad was yummy. The service wss spectacular. We went for a family party in their private room outside, it was warm and comfortable. Jackson was our server and was very attentive to our evey need. Can't wait to go back for a "regular dinner" and try other selections. Thanks for making the event memorable.
Enjoyed this lively place. We went with a group, it was full, the service was good, the food was tasty and hot. I had ravioli, it was light, the tomato sauce was bright, calamari was light and crispy, everyone enjoyed their meal the most popular was the dessert something not on the menu, called jokingly "I don't know why the F it is" if your ask for that, they'll know.
I have lived in this area my whole life (minus college) and had only eaten here a couple times years ago. I was lucky enough to have friends who frequent it and suggested we go last night. I'm so glad we did, because in an area where there are VERY FEW great restaurants, this is my top pick!! From the moment we entered the restaurant and were greeted by the kind and attentive hostess, I had a good feeling. The warm bread was delivered and the deal was sealed for me - seriously the most amazing flavor and the softest texture. We ordered salad and shrimp cocktail - both delicious. My husband ordered the short ribs; full of flavor and fall-apart delectable, and I had the gnocchi, which was the best i've ever had - and I've eaten it in Italy! They were soft pillows of amazingness with a generous portion of meat sauce that was the perfect balance and depth of flavor that kept me eating way past when I should have. The portions on all the dishes were generous without be gluttonous. The couple we were with had the Branzino and the chicken parmesan; both of which they enjoyed as well. Nobody had room for dessert, but I will be back to sample that next time. One final thought: the wait staff as a whole is first class. First off, our waitress was attentive, without being intrusive; knowing exactly when to appear to cater to our every need. The list of specials was almost as extensive as the regular menu - yet she told us, in detail, every item without hesitation or notes. The food expediters, busing staff and other floor staff worked in perfect concert so that never wanted for anything. The restaurant was very full, but we felt like the only ones there because of the amazing service. The water glasses were always full and no detail was overlooked. You can tell this is a well managed establishment with employees who are taken care of and who take pride in their work. I look forward to my next meal there and highly recommend Rustico to anyone looking for an elevated eating experience!
"THE BEST OF THE BEST" "Il meglio del meglio" We were recommended to this restaurant by friends. It was our anniversary and we wanted something really 5 star. However we are both a little tired of the Malibu scene. Well it turned out that this is now one of my favorite restaurant with Italian cuisines. The food was outstanding. We had a great Cesar salad and shrimp cocktails. My wife had the Crispy duck, and I had the Cioppino soup. The service was super, the staff really all were great. Monday and Friday they have a really talanted guitarist. But the most important for me as a businessman, the owner was present. When an owner takes pride to watch all the tables and be involved, that is the mark of a truly great restaurant.
Rusticos is my preferred venue for lunch or a Friday evening happy hour. The establishment's exceptional service, diverse menu options, and fully stocked bar have earned my repeat patronage. Rusticos is known for its willingness to accommodate guests' unique preferences, even those that are not listed on the menu. The presence of the proprietor adds a personal touch, as they oversee all operations and frequently greet guests.
Food is great so is the service. We happen to move close by recently but have been coming here for a couple off years. It's great every time. Save room for the dessert the tiramisu is worth it. Atmosphere is good for smaller parties or large groups.
Great local vibes, even better food.
I just moved to the area four months ago and eat out about 4 nights a week, all in 4 star or better restaurants. This is now my favorite Italian restaurant in the area. My favorite dishes are the Bronzino, Cioppino, fried calamari and their margarita pizza. My favorite drink is their old fashion. I have also enjoyed their outdoor seating arrangement during the pandemic. They got lucky because they have beautiful island in their parking lot that the county has allowed them to turn into their outdoor seating. Very nice and romantic.
Fantastic service, the food is rich and prepared with care, had the butterflied and pounded-thin pork chop parmigiana, small side of pasta... it was outstanding. A must visit. Friendly and welcoming folks at the bar, all returning locals that make it seem like an extended family.
Delicious food great service David our server was very attentive and suggested best bishes and kept checking on us to making sure everything is perfect and if we needed anything . Overall we had an amazing time .
Staff is very hospitable. We dined on a birthday celebration on new opening, served by Anna. Anna was on point. Food was delicious .( little salty) I always say "BON Appetito" at a local real Italian restaurant. 😉
For as packed as it was, it wasn't as noisy as you'd expect. The food was exceptional, the waiter was amazing (although he had no personality) - he had the entire menu memorized! The Manhattan was weak and the barware uncomfortable to hold. So I would give the bar 3 1/2 stars. But everything else was very good. Was it worth the drive from Tarzana? Probably only if you are someone that has to try a new Italian place. Would I go back? Not if I was buying. The prices are way too high for what it is. $60 for sea bass in an Oak Park shopping center? Nah...
We stopped into this cute little spot just to grab a drink and an appetizer before heading out to dinner, and wow—what a great choice! The hostess was incredibly sweet and went out of her way to find us a spot at the bar, even though it was pretty busy for 5 p.m. (a good sign of how popular this place is after work!). The bartenders and waitstaff were genuinely friendly and made us feel so welcome, which really set the tone for our visit. The vibe was fantastic, with a mix of couples, families, and singles enjoying themselves, and the kitchen looked like it was hustling to keep up with the demand. We only had time for drinks and a small bite, but it left us wanting more. The menu looked absolutely fantastic, and I’m definitely coming back for dinner next time. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a warm, welcoming atmosphere and great service!
Nice Italian restaurant. All the ambiance and furnishings of which a fine dining establishment is made. Food was delicious. Service was good, but somehow I didn't feel welcome. Hard to describe, but unmistakable; and it wasn't the company at our table. Could have been an off night for our server, or for me. Would like to go again to see, but this was vacation. It bears repeating that our food was very good.
Went to Rustico the day before Valentines day. Was seated next to young children that were noisy. Had a waiter that only made eye contact with me and not my wife. My wife felt belittled. He had a Italian accent and was hard to hear and understand when explaining the numerous specials they had. A list of the specials explained on paper with prices would be really appreciated. Brought the bread/rolls but with no Olive oil, had to hunt down a bus boy to retrieve olive oil. We ordered a dish that had Calamari, Shrimp and Sand dabs, it was delicious but I think there was only 1sand dab. We ordered the Salmon but no lemon was asked for or given. after 5 minutes we received the lemon. This restaurant has the potential to be great. It just has small details that are keeping it from being awesome.
Good food. Good service. The food is superior to the location. High quality ingredients, strong perpetration. I had the scallops and spicy pasta. Well seasoned, but they still felt they needed to use the seafood cheat of giving it a splash of melted butter.
Tables too close together. Service very slow, 3 hours start to finish. Parking is easy. Food good, large portions. Reservation is highly recommended.
Let me get the poor things out of the way: the portion sizes are abysmal. I ordered gnocchi which would have passed off as a light lunch. Everybody else also got minimalist portions except for the soup. The service was mediocre. I sat without water trying to get the staff's attention for quite some time, before getting up and pouring some myself. It's also on the pricier side. Those were the only complaints I had. On the bright side: the food tasted great! It was slightly greasy but it was still good. That's the only compliment I have. My experience was decent but nothing special.
2 of the 4 of us had great dishes. The pork chop was top notch and the sea bass was fabulous. My sister's ravioli was awful and my parpadelle with lamb ragu had over done noodles and was one dimensional in flavor. Could not find our server to let her know how the food was and she never got to our table to check onnus. The restaurant forgot it was my sister's birthday after telling them twice which was embarrassing when other got dessert but my sister had nothing.
Rustico is over, finished, done!!! Sad but tonight we had the worst service and meal there ever. Our server really couldn’t care about the service or our meal. My wife didn’t eat her salad as it was all watery and her soup was inedible and she left it. I’ve be been going for years and went up to see the owner Roberto and told him it was horrible. Nothing happened. I guess the word is out. The place was empty and one person at the bar. I think other people knew before us. Overpriced and terrible. I’m done and unfortunately it appears Rustico is too. With other strong Italian owned Restaurants like Tuscany. Nonna and Made in Italy we have other great places to visit but certainly NOT Rustico. Sad...
We heard this place was good so booked for a date night out. We were seated by the hostess and told we had a time limit on our dinner due to a large party coming in later. We were kind of in shock because it’s an upscale place. We mentioned to our waitress we thought this was unorthodox and she said the large party booked before us and because we booked today we have to leave to accommodate then. I think that response was even worse than being given the time limit. Why book the small table then? Just plain greedy to sacrifice someone’s night out for an extra table. We are just thankful we were not celebrating anything important like an anniversary. We made the best of it, but frankly I kept checking my watch to see how much time we have left. Took the relaxation and the enjoyment out of the evening for sure! Then we could not get a refill on our bar drinks for about 10 minutes. We asked the bus lady for a refill on bar drinks because we could not find our waitress and she said sure, and came back and refilled our water. At that point it just became comical and we started laughing. In fairness the food was decent and they did comp us for one round of drinks for the time restriction, but it just does not make up for the rest. We had a good laugh at how horrible it was so it want not a total loss. We got a story!
