Opinions de Galveston Seafood Company Abilene
The servers are always friendly. The food is delicious. I love their fried stuffed catfish. The mixed vegetables are really good as well. I look forward to going back again soon.
Had Sunday lunch at Galveston Seafood restaurant 7-27-2025, and it wasn't our first time. Every time we have dined there it's always great!! The food is delicious, the staff perfect, and the price well worth the meal. Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Abilene, Tx. hands down. I usually have the catfish and shrimp, but next time I'm going to have the chicken fried steak.
My dad and I stopped here from out of town and we were pleasantly surprised!! The staff is so polite and caring we truly felt at home here. The restaurant itself is cute and up to date. Our server was Miss Jaycie and she was incredibly kind and one of the sweetest waitresses we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Make sure you ask for her when you stop by! ♥️
Finally a real seafood option in Abilene! I heard about this place today from my son and immediately took the family to try it out. I am so glad I did. I hate to say this, but Abilene has been really short on people who know how to cook seafood for a long time. This is not true anymore. Galveston Seafood Company is a breath of fresh air in a city, which I have sometimes described as "Culinarily Challenged" when it comes to restaurants. The owner herself was our server and she was a delight to talk to. A native Galvestonian her self, she knows seafood. She truly has brought a taste of the coast to Texas to Abilene, In the great Galveston tradition of service with a smile, she served us some of the best seafood I have ever tasted anywhere in Texas. If you are looking for great seafood in Abilene Texas, you now have a place to go. Let's all support this local business and make sure we keep this amazing talent here to stay.
If you are going to go anywhere to get seafood in Abilene please consider dining in with these folks! The food is great quality, and not overly priced! they have diet restrictions to meet most people’s needs. Its family ran and very very homey. I am 7 months pregnant and these folks made my day so much better, The customer service was amazing, the servers are so sweet and understanding. One of the managers there gave me some stickers as well as some suckers for my nieces and nephews! They truly treat you like family! I can not thank you guys enough!!!
The food has far exceeded our expectations without paying an upscale dining premium! Despite the snapper was deep-fried, the meat fell off almost immediately after a gentle touch with a fork. Soaked into the cream with a gravy-like texture, the andouille sausage and shrimp further brought the dish to the next level. Overloaded with richly seasoned lobster meat, the lobster roll can rival any counterparts in the New England. The portions were generous too. Service was also quick. We will never hesitate to dine again should we travel in the region.
Northside Galveston Seafood always treats us like family and greets us with a smile . The food is always on point . So delicious. Best place for seafood in abilene hands down. Thanks guys
We had a very large party and the service was excellent! The food was great! I would highly recommend eating here.
Best doggone seafood we have had in a looking time!! Everything w as FRESH!!! Didn't care for the lobster roll, too much dill....overpowering for sure. We eneded up taking it home and trashing it. But the crab legs, shrimp, fried cod. Doesn't get any better. Service was outstanding! P.S. I didn't know about the lobster roll until we got home and I saw daughter starting to trash it and she told me she didn't want to ask for another. She didn't want to bother our server. We know now. But otherwise, worth every penny!!!!
took my parents out to Galveston seafood Co. My first time, their 3rd. Staff was awesome, food was great. Really liked the alligator bites and Cajun pasta, mom got the catfish and it was amazing, I feel like it's definitely the best in town. dad got the chicken fried steak and he really enjoyed it, ended up having to take half of it home. Our waiter was Joe and he did a great job, answered all our questions and kept up with us. Even the manager came around to check on everything. We will definitely be back, gotta try the steak and shrimp next time I come home. 😋
Enjoyed my meal very much. Fish tastes fresh and the waitress was very nice. Price and portions were good.
Today, my wife and I dined in for the first time at Galveston Seafood Company on Highway 80, and we were thoroughly impressed. Our waitress, Maddy, was friendly, attentive, and brought a warm smile to the table—she was truly on top of her game. I ordered the seafood sampler with blackened catfish, five shrimp, and a side of red beans and rice. My wife had the chicken fried steak with okra and a side salad. The food was served quickly, arrived hot, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. We had a great experience and will definitely be returning!
Attentive and friendly staff set the mood while rich tasting food solidifies Galveston Seafood Company as a worthy eatery. The most biased remark to take away from this review is that you have to try the Cajun Shrimp Pasta dish. This dish may be slightly spicy for some, but is worth every penny from the volume of food received to the bold flavor that lingers on your taste buds. A photo cannot do this meal justice. There is something for everyone though. Even if fish isn't your cup of water, the menu will surely have something delectable for any palate.
This place was very busy when we went today, so there was a bit of the wait but... The food was worth the wait! It explains why it was so busy! We got the snow crab plate #2 and split it between us. So Delicious! Our server was amazing and we will definitely be back again and again!
Ordered the chicken a la meir (Cajun style) which was better than I thought it would be. My friend ordered the stuffed catfish platter with wild rice and a side of lemons, she said it was amazing and the catfish just literally melted in her mouth. We knew when we came in that it was going to be good but we didn't know it was going to be that good. Amazing food an amazing portions. The prices might be a little turn off for some but it is well worth the investment for a dinner or lunch out.
Amazing quality food! Decent lunch special prices. We had blackened catfish and shrimp and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked; son has Cajun seafood pasta and it was delicious, and the side salad is NOT just a side salad! Beautiful variety of greens, grape tomatoes, cucumbers and watermelon radish with homemade tasting Bleu cheese dressing.
Emma was our server and super sweet! We were sat as soon as walked in, drinks ans appetizers within minutes. Now, let's talk food! I'm from New Orleans and that's a tough act to follow. The gator, shrimp and calamari were phenomenal! I highly recommend the Grilled Shrimp! The gator...best I've had outside of Louisiana.!
This place has a wonderful staff that accommodated us nicely. Food was wonderful and prepared as instructed. Great selection for individuals who do not prefer seafood as well. A little pricey and an additional 4% credit card use does sour the experience, but well worth for the quality of service and food received.
Went in on a busy Saturday evening which was understandable, yet they tried their best to give us great service! We both had the Steak Oscar and the Surf and Turf #1 with Scallops and EVERYTHING was up to par. The steaks were done to perfection, flavor was there for everything including the sides. We will be back !
I'm so glad I listened to the reviews! This place is SO good. The only disappointment was that I couldn't eat everything. The portion sizes were fantastic and not one thing fell short of amazing. The owners/waitstaff are so polite and service was exceptional. Seasoning was perfect. I could NOT be happier with the outcome. I had to buckle my to-go box in because I couldn't bear the thought of messing my leftovers up. 🙃
Food was amazing. I had ordered it with deal dash. Somewhere it got delay doordash or restaurant and wasn't delivered for 1.5 hours. Everything was very cold. Am item was not delivered, so I was shorted. So it tasted really good but it would have been better hot.
The food was delicious. We just stumbled upon this place after googling sea food restaurants in Abilene and what a lucky thing we did. We went for lunch on Sunday and it looks to be a local favorite because there were people waiting a long time for a table. We just beat the church crowd so no wait for us.
These gem, is a diamond in the rough. The food was outstanding. We are from Stephenville and will be back, amazing, can't say enough good things about the food. I had the Red SnapperPontchartrain and my husband had the stuff Chili Reno. Both were excellent. We had the loaded fries for an appetizer.
Been here several times and it's always been fantastic. It's hard to find a good seafood place. Galveston seafood company always delivers. The only critique I have is the atmosphere in my opinion is a little dark.
Been wanting to try this place since it's opening. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Service was fast and friendly even though it was quite busy. The atmosphere/decor could use some updating but we were there for the food, not the view.
You would think Abilene was on the coast. Justo, our server was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. He gave great advice. Their surf and turf Kebabs are perfectly cooked. It can be tough to get both the shrimp and the steak tender and juicy. Sides were really tasty as well. Lots of flavor in the boil and all made with no added MSG! We will definitely be going back and often.
This place is a hidden gem! Been working here multiple times over the years and never ate here until tonight. I had the surf and turf and my husband had the S&S platter. Hands down one of the best restaurants in town! My steak was cooked perfectly and the scallops were delicious 😋 Also you have to try the bread pudding!! So dang good!
Gotta be honest, I didn’t have super high expectations for a seafood place in Abilene since I’ve been a life long Gulf Coast girl from Houston, but this restaurant was excellent. It rivals plenty of seafood places in Houston and Galveston as well.
Update... The place and atmosphere is good.food was delicious always and service is great they are friendly. Nice to be back again. Perfect. I highly recommend galveston.
This was a very special occasion. Little pricey. But very good. We ordered 2 of the colossal king crab leg dinner. But unless u r very hungry n I mean VERY hungry 1 order could have easily filled both of us. We left with 2 packed to-go-box. We also took home a to-go order of crawfish etouffee. Can't wait to try it. Great place would go again
Came in today and when we checked in the front area was quite busy. We were told maybe 20 minutes. The front area cleared out exceptionally quick as they would clean down tables and seat new parties faster than we had anticipated. We were seated fairly quickly and drinks came right behind. The staff is friendly and professional, as well as quick on their feet. Within 10 minutes we had our orders and appetizer order in and were able to enjoy the atmosphere. The booths are tall and give a nice place to converse and have a date. The larger middle area is perfect for larger party seating. The menus are decently extensive for a place that you could easily drive by and never notice. We ordered an appetizer of calamari, a Salad with Salmon, and a Seafood Platter. The food was amazing and prepared perfectly. Staff was friendly and on point.. Will recommend and will def come back again.
In town for business saw the great reviews here, and decided to give it a try! Definitely not disappointed, the food was delicious and our server was very attentive. My co worker and I enjoyed the Gator Bites for an appetizer and shared a plate of chicken fried steak! The portion was huge enough for two if you are not big eaters. Fried okra was like my mom's delicious!!! There were so many options on the menu. You won't be disappointed
This place was everything! My wife and I usually order everything that sounds good off the menu then split. Unfortunately Galveston Seafood has so much to offer that we could only pick our favorites. We had the kitchen working in high gear and they exceeded our expectations. Food kept coming out fast and fresh. Our waitress was very nice and on time. It may be a long time we are back this way, but if we do we will return.
Never been here before, but will definitely again. The food was great and the service was good. I ordered the grilled Mahi over grits with the Ponchatrain sauce and Crawfish potato salad. I was not a fan of the sauce (just didn't fit my taste profile), but I didn't have a problem picking all of the tons of seafood out of it. Only reservation is that it is pricy. The food was worth it, but more pricy than I normally spend on lunch.
Our waiter was fabulous, very thoughtful gentleman and swiftly took our orders and returned to check on us without hesitation, loved that part! The restaurant has an ambience to it that I honestly expected because this place was recommended by a friend, I enjoyed their food and so did my partner!
Great fish and crab and shrimp in ABILENE! This is one of two Galveston Seafood locations, and while this one is older, it's also got the charm and flavor that comes from being the first of its kind. Recommend anything Cajun and the entrees generally, and definitely the dungeness crab!
Thank you Galveston Seafood Company for an Absolutely Amazing meal last night!! Our Family Enjoyed Everything!! We had so many different appetizers, plates and desserts, I don't even know what we all had. I Appreciate your Patience and Hospitality, I know I can be a little difficult at times.🤪 You are all working so hard, I can't even imagine doing what you do everyday!! We really Enjoyed our Evening so much, thank you again!! ✌🏼🤙🏼
Because I have the App for Galveston I received a coupon for a half order of Cajun fries if you spend over 26 dollars. We had never had them. Our sweet waitress told us what was on the fries. We don't like alot of spicy. She put the sauces in bowls so we could dip fries in them! They were wonderful! Great staff and food!
Don't let the "ancient" decor, "typewritten" menu (or inoperative restrooms) fool you. The food, however narrow the menu (hybrid Cajun & Gulf Coast) spectrum, was undeniably very good. The Grilled Shrimp platter had shrimps that were done just the way that has been difficult to experience except at home - nice flavor outside and tender inside. Full marks to the chef. Layered on collared greens and accompanied by bite size hush puppies and twin sauces (inevitable ketchup & Remoulade) made the dining truly a pleasure. The catfish was fresh (NOT frozen), and again grilled sufficiently with the right dusting of Cajun spices to satisfy the palate but not overdone for an undue chewing experience. I wish other places learn how to prepare and serve coleslaw from the folks here. Loved the service from the entire team on duty.
Food snd service were wonderful ! We wentfor lunch- I had Chicken a la Mier and chicken was so tender, and the shrimp in the sauce was tender, as well. Husband had fish and chips- was served very large pieces of fish, and again, very tender and flaky. Service was great! Will definitely be back!
Well, I'm actually a chef, and I Love this place!! Seafood has always been fresh. Including the oysters! In the Cajun dishes, that I've tried so far, have been outstanding. Can't wait to try the next one! 😋 Keep up the good work gang!
Galveston seafood Company is one of the best places to eat in Abilene. The seafood is always fresh and delicious, and there’s a large variety to choose from. There are daily lunch specials, all $13 or less. There is a senior menu that has a variety of items, includes drink, and dessert, And only cost $7.99 a person. There are two locations, one in North Abilene, and one in South Abilene. If you are in Abilene, Galveston, Seafood Company is a must try.
Listen I dont review anything but I gotta give credit where its do Got the boiled crawfish... only way they could of been more authentic Louisiana was if LSU was on the tv beating the hell outta Florida in Death v Valley at night! Legit real deal, better than Tony seafood crawfish! Beignets were sinfully delicious. Still in shock honestly. I had field run crawfish which is the way i like em. Mix of claw eaters a juicy mediums. They were clean and you can till they 2 pot boil em as any true cajun does for consistency. Absolutely fantastic waitresses and the owner came out and chatted for a while just a good dude.
Best place for seafood in town. The taste is clean, devine and full of flavor. The portion sizes are also really great, with some of the best customer service in town, even when the place is crowded. The catfish is really good which is something I have had there twice and they proved that they are consistent. The star of the show is the bread pudding, it's really different from grandma's bread pudding in an awesome way, essentially cubes of bread pudding with a slight crunch on each side it's amazingly delicious. The price is pretty decent, seeing that we are about 6 hours or so from the nearest ocean. If you're craving some seafood head over there and give them a try.
The staff is friendly and greet you as soon as you walk in. The service is fast and very attentive. The food is delicious. I ordered the catfish platter and I must say, it is the best catfish. This is my go to order every time. The fish and fries are big portions and freshly made. Delicious 😋
We stopped in today as we traveled out west. We made a GREAT choice in stopping. The food was fabulous, and the service provided to us by Ms. Grace was top-notch. Tje portions are large and filling. The mixed veggies are YUMMY! But everything that we ordered was great! We will go back the next time that we are in the area.
Absofrigginlutely loved this place. Our waiter was engaging , friendly, polite, customer service oriented, and extremely knowledgeable about the rich history of the building itself and the owner. The interior for me was fabulous architecture that you don't see any more. The food was excellent and you could tell the chefs loved their jobs. Plating was excellent, portions were awesome and the flavor was perfect from entrée to main course to desert. I strongly suggest going here if you like excellently prepared seafood. Oh and the owner made the menu of so many well prepared foods. If I'm in the neighborhood again I'll stop in because this place is how seafood restaurants should be. 11 stars out of 10 for me.
I love Galveston Seafood company. I ordered their Cajun fries to go and they were the best thing ever. So much food and at a really high quality. The Cajun sauce with shrimp, crab, and sausage that went on top was so good. The staff made sure to keep everything separate so I could keep the fries from being soggy and have it fresh when I got home. I’ll be going back often. Adding now to say dinner was amazing. Kids menu is incredible and affordable. The pasta dishes are incredible and everything they do is the best it can be. Our server was so much fun and incredibly attentive. We will be back often.

Maybe best catfish in town. Love the OG vibe. A little noisy for conversation, but not too bad.
Great food, service and price! Husband and I went for our anniversary. It was a great choice!

The atmosphere, settings and waitress were outstanding. \nThe food was literally the best I've had in all of Abilene, and we've tried ALOT!\nThank you Kim, for the lovely experience!
Amazing seafood and amazing service. The ambience is very special. Rob does a spectacular job running Galveston. I highly recommend!

I would have never thought seafood in West TX but omg it was Incredible! Reminded me of New Orleans great menu - great food! Only downer for me no alcoholic drinks. But saved me $$ I would highly recommend! I travel a lot for work & this was a real treat!!! High five ! Redfish Ponchatrain & collards
This place is always packed! The food is typically very good, although sometimes the cooks are a bit heavy handed with seasoning and creams in their sauces. The seafood is excellent, particularly the crawfish Étouffée as a starter. Love to just come here when I get off work and get some Po’ boys with red beans and rice to go, really good stuff. The gator bites are also a great appetizer, I always get them. I just wish they would have nice thick swordfish steaks with salt and pepper and some garlic. That would really make me excited! Very happy to have this restaurant in Abilene to break up the monotony of burgers, tacos, pizza, etc.
I would have given this resteraunt a straight 5 out of 5 but it was hot. I mean to the point I started sweating hot. The food was great. I got the medium boil, so I could get more crab legs and shrimp. Oh my Lord!!! They were cooked to perfection. The only thing I did not like was the corn. It was frozen and over cooked. I didn't even care. I will come back. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive.
OK, so I’ve heard a lot of good things about the food and the service here. my neighbor Judy and I went there to eat today. I’m sorry I forgot to take pictures of our plates before eating. We had the senior lunch specials. She had the catfish and shrimp. I had the chicken. my chicken was delicious! cooked to perfection. She loved her catfish and shrimp. We each had a dessert that was marvelous, but the side dishes aren’t too bueno. I had the green beans and mashed potatoes. They were both runny and not the best flavor; not the best looking. She had the cabbage and it was very runny; lots of liquid. Our waitress was awesome! Very helpful very friendly. We were greeted when we came in. very pleasant people, enjoyed the atmosphere
We stopped by on a road trip. The atmosphere and service are great. The food was pretty good. I would say the cajun food is not classic Acadiana or New Orleans styles, but more Texas Cajun. The gumbo was good but the broth was pasty. The etouffee was good but somewhat bland. The calamari was very good. The lobster roll was made with a lobster salad which three the teenage son. The salads were good. The sold clam strips and I asked the lady if they were like the old Howard Johnsons clam strips (childhood). They were more like clam popcorn strips with Asian sauce. We ate them anyway. Overall okay place to eat. We would stop again.
I had an amazing experience at Galveston Seafood Company! From the moment we walked in, the host set the tone with top-notch customer service — welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly. It’s rare to feel so taken care of right from the start, but they absolutely nailed it. The restaurant itself was spotless and beautifully maintained. You can tell they take real pride in keeping everything clean and comfortable for their guests. It made the whole dining experience even better knowing we were in such a well-kept environment. Now let’s talk about the food — the crab legs were out of this world! Perfectly seasoned, full of juicy, packed flavor with every bite. You could taste the freshness and care that went into preparing them. Honestly, they were some of the best I’ve ever had. To top it off, the prices were surprisingly reasonable, especially considering the quality of the seafood. If you’re anywhere near the area, do yourself a favor and stop by Galveston Seafood Company. Amazing service, a great atmosphere, unbeatable crab legs, and fantastic prices — it’s easily a new favorite!

I have eaten here before and the food was fantastic but this last time I ordered crab cakes and they were awful. They were about a quarter inch thick and when I took my fork to them, they fell into 100 pieces. Further, they were burned. I’ll go back but I will never order the crab cakes again
Came in for a late lunch, the restaurant was about 25% full. Asked for a table rather than a booth, hostess said they didn't have a table available and stuck us in a booth. As soon as we sit down, I saw multiple tables open. The booth was old, in disrepair, and uncomfortable. Restroom situation was lacking; two stalls in the ladies room and one was out of order. Tea tasted old. Gatorade fruit punch was watered down. Most of the people I was with enjoyed their food, they got chicken fried steak, seafood boil, baja fish tacos... the kids got mac & cheese. My meal was awful - I ordered the Cajun seafood pasta; it came out looking more like a soup than a pasta dish - pasta was drenched in thin, tasteless, watery sauce, seemingly bagged/frozen shrimp, no Cajun flavor or spice whatsoever... just bland. The most flavorful item in the dish was the charred Texas toast it comes with. Worst part was the price, my group split checks. $74 + tip for myself, my wife and toddler. The food quality and dilapidated state of the restaurant don't justify a price tag that high. In summary: the service was pretty good and 4 out 5 adults at the table enjoyed their food; my food was tasteless and disappointing. Dilapidated seating/tables. There is no justification whatsoever for prices to be as high as they are.
Never had the food couldn't eat the shrimp tacos I ordered because they were way to salty. We ordered out, otherwise Im sure they would have made it right. My colleagues meals were great and they enjoyed them. Will try again another time.
It was a nice atmosphere, service was fast. The presentation of the food look amazing. I ordered the regular seafood boil. It tasted really good other than the andouille sausage was pork and we didn’t know that. So after I took a bite of it I immediately felt sick. Also I have never been charged for water at a restaurant. Overall I had a amazing time with my family.
First time here. The restaurant hasn’t been updated in a long time long It still looks just like town crier. staff was great! Food not so much. Lobster roll was nothing more than shredded lobster salad , way overpriced Not chunks. The wagu chicken fry was average. I doubt that is was wagu. The gumbo was very fishy The truffle fries were the best thing we had. I had high hopes for this restaurant. They didn’t deliver. 😒
I wanted to love this place because when the experience is good, it’s truly great. However, when it falls short, it’s quite disappointing. I’ve visited several times. The first visit was excellent, so much so that we brought our family back. On the second visit, the food didn’t meet expectations—the rice served with my fish was undercooked and hard, making it inedible. They did offer an alternative side. On a another visit, the food was again very good with no complaints. However, on the most recent visit, the same issue with undercooked rice occurred, and the fish lacked flavor. Overall, it seems you have to hope for a good day to fully enjoy the meal here.
Really wanted to like this place but several factors make it a no. Ordered online and when I got there I stood up front for over 10 minutes before anyone ever came to the front. Ordered the chicken fried steak. The breading tasted good but the meat was tough and so stringy you couldn't eat it. Mashed potatoes were ok, but the red beans and rice were very spicy and not your usual red beans and rice. I will give this place one more shot and order some seafood next time.
The atmosphere wasn’t great…. But that’s fine, I didn’t go to eat the atmosphere. My friend ordered the lobster Mac and Chz and loved it. I ordered a boil plate and I HATED it. There were no visi…

Ordered Door Dash on Christmas Eve. Slaw was not good. Threw it away. Hamburger steak was a frozen patty cooked to death. Mashed potatoes had zero flavor. Ordered Fish & Chips. French fries were left out of the order completely. Won’t be eating here again…
This was our first time visiting this restaurant and unfortunately will also be our last. They were very busy when we got there, so the long wait wasn't a surprise. They told us 30-35 minutes, it ended up being an hour. Frustrating, but things happen. However, when we came in, they put our name on a list on an app. At the hour point, they asked everyone in the waiting room who was next. The list has gone missing somehow, and we had to *debate* another party about what order we had come in. We sat down, put our drink order in, got our drinks, and then continued to wait. The other parties behind us were served while we continued to wait. My husband had to track down another waiter to go find ours. We ordered and waited some more. When the food came, our waiter put the food down quickly and split. We didn't have silverware, so we assumed he was coming back. He was not. My husband couldn't find any other staff at this point and tracked down silverware on his own. I got the crab cake, which may stand as the only crab cake I didn't finish in my life. I was thinner than I expected from the photos on other reviews, and extremely salty. They seemed to be rationing remoulade sauce, as there was barely a fingernail's worth on top. Some of the greens served with it were going bad. The special (pork ribeye) my husband ordeded was good, so we both ate that. The red beans and rice were also good, although it was a little thin on sausage. The waiter eventually showed up to check on us after we were done, and we quickly asked for the check before he disappeared again. This was an overall very frustrating experience, although I don't blame the individual wait staff for it. They were clearly short handed with the waiters doubling as host while simultaneously trying to wait tables AND do closing tasks. It's management's responsibility to make sure there is enough staff for every shift. If you don't have enough employees to run a restaurant, then you're not paying enough to attract good people. I also sorta suspect the person serving us was a manager as they were the only one not wearing an apron and the staff that did wear aprons appeared much more attentive to their tables.
