Opinions de Cho Dang Village Addison
Great authentic Korean restaurant that specializes in soft tofu soup/stew. There are many different types of tofu soups to choose from as well as combination dishes. Kalbi is well marinated and tender. Fish dishes are fantastic as well. They cook each rice bowl separately and come with the nice crusted bottom. Family favorite whenever visiting Dallas area.
If you are looking for a great authentic Korean food, you should try Cho Dang village. Their banchan and other dish are amazing. I usually have spicy seafood tofu soup.
Ate here for the first time tonight and the Kalbi tang (Galbitang) was the best I’ve ever eaten. Both the amount of meat in the soup and the tenderness of it were fantastic. Will eat here every time I come into town.
I have been looking for truly authentic tasting Korean food, and have finally found the spot. Cho Dang soondubu jigae is 10/10 the tofu is silky, the soup is flavorful and spicy. The service is warm, friendly, and welcoming, this is my new favorite jiggae spot in DFW.
If you’re craving hearty, authentic Korean food, Chodang Village is a spot you absolutely don’t want to miss. • Signature Soft Tofu Stew: Rich, flavorful, and deeply comforting. The broth carries that perfect balance of spice and depth, making it one of the standout dishes. • Grilled Korean BBQ: Cooked to perfection, with smoky char and savory marinades that highlight the authenticity of the cuisine. • Generous Portions: Every plate is filling and satisfying, leaving you both full and delighted. • Top-Notch Service: The staff is attentive, welcoming, and ensures that your dining experience feels special from start to finish. Chodang Village delivers on every front—authentic flavors, hearty servings, and excellent service. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Korean food or trying it for the first time, this restaurant sets the bar high. Verdict: A must-visit for anyone who wants a true taste of Korea right here at home.
good amount of food for decent price, very authentic and giving me home restaurant vibe the soup and bulgogi was amazing, we got the combo but it was so much that enough to fill both of us the service was quick and the staffs were really nice it’s a little bit crowded around meal time so might wanna come early or reserve a table
I love the fish egg tofu soup! Update: I visited again and had fish intestine tofu soup, and it is equally delicious, if not more. Feels fresh and no weird odors. The texture goes amazing with the soft tofu. The spicy seasoning fits well. The oyster pancake is hot and flavorful, though I feel too little oysters are used.
The food here is truly delicious. I was especially impressed by the spicy-marinated crab, seafood tofu soup, and spicy grilled pork. The seasoning was well-balanced, the seafood was fresh, and the staff were friendly. The restaurant is spacious, with private rooms available for large groups. Prices are reasonable, and I’ll definitely be coming back regularly.
We are moving to the area and wanted to find a good korean restaurant here, this place was outstanding. Amazing food, amazing service. Affordable and big portions. The galbi and spicy pork were amazing and all of our soups were so delicious. Our waitress Coco (sorry if i misspelled) was so lovely and friendly, there were a few dishes we were unfamiliar with, she explained how to eat them and was so helpful :)
Cho Dang has been our go-to when it comes to Sundubu for many years now. I believe it’s changed management, but the quality is still there. We normally get a Combo Special which allows you to get a Sundubu, Naengmyeon or Bibimbap with your choice of a protein. You can’t go wrong with the Spicy Pork Bulgogi!
Such a great restaurant to get soon tofu soup! This place does get busy so come early if you can. We ordered the combo special so along with the kimchi soon tofu soup we got spicy pork bulgogi and the regular beef bulgogi. All of it was delicious. The soup wasn’t too spicy but just enough. The meats were seasoned well and not too overwhelming sweet or spicy. We also loved the side dishes and I thought the kimchi here is good. In my opinion, the soon tofu soup may even be better than a popular chain that’s across the way. Service was great and you do pay at the counter. Overall, it is a must-try if you’re in the area!
We went for breakfast and this place did not disappoint. It was easily the best meal on my last trip to the area. I had the kimchi tofu soup with pork, spicy level and it was so delicious. I ate the entire bowl! I can't wait to go back. The one thing I didn't get a photo of was the seafood pancake and it was really delicious.
We visited Cho Dang Village with our beloved Korean friends as they wanted a taste of home. There was a short line before we arrived, but we were quickly seated. I got the Vegetable Sundubu Jiggae (asked for level 4 spicy and it was perfect) and let me tell you...it was the most flavourful, delicious broth I have had in a long time. The soup was not only packed with umami and flavour, it was also creamy with the tofu and egg! The crispy burnt rice and the Banchan were also on point! My only note was, since we were tucked away in a corner room on a busy day, service was slightly slow. Also some of our water glasses were not cleaned properly. But it was a busy day, and everything else made it worth it!
Traditional Korean fare can be readily found in this area - and Cho Dang is a solid option for lunch/dinner. You know the food has got to be good if they’ve gone the distance without the need of a beer/wine license. In my opinion - Cho Dang makes the best stews in the area (tofu, beef, and galbi). Other mains are middle of the road. Would not recommend the donkatsu. Service is quick and efficient.
Nice Korean restaurant with great tofu soup. Their kimchi jigae is one of the better ones in the DFW area, and their sundubu jigae is overall great. And the yellow croaker is a cool side you can get here. I think the short rib was better at their Plano location. I've had really good short rib here one time before, but not cosistently. Also, their dumplings were rather lacking in filling. To be honest it's not really the best Korean restaurant in DFW, but it's a good deal especially for the combos.
We stopped here for lunch after shopping at the H Mart in the same shopping center. There was a bit of a wait after adding our name to the list, and we agreed to sit at a 6-top with another table of two at the end of the table to get service faster. We ordered two combos and a veggie pancake, which was really way more food than two people could eat. I did the beef bulgogi with mushroom soup and my partner had the short ribs with seafood soup. Everything was perfectly made and full of flavor. We did have to take some home. For the price, I would pass on the pancake next time.
April 2025 Visited here several times but first review. The most recent visit was 15 minutes before closing but they informed us they were closed. That disappointed visit left a bad impression even though I understood their intentions. Regardless, we decide to revisit. There are many Korean tofu restaurants in this area. For us, the sides dishes offering are the differentiators. Here, many vegetables dishes were offered with a yellow fish as the highlight. A good kimchi is a must have. Sadly, not this location. Fish cake wasn’t on the list either. Hopefully, I don’t sound too demanding with this reviews. Every restaurant is competing for the dollar. My rating as 5 is very satisfied. Tastes 4/5 good tofu soup but we were disappointed with the side dishes. Temperature 5/5 Cleanliness 4/5 Attentive and courteous 3/5 very transactional. Speed of service 2/5 Our beef bulgogi came til the very end of our meal. We were pretty much done with our meal when it arrived. This is not a good thing. Will I return ? Not really. I think there are too many choices here. Will I recommend? Not really.
I seldom leave comments on Google, but this really made me very angry. I chose to go back because I thought the food and taste were good before. However, a Korean female waitress there was very impatient, which greatly disappointed me. My good mood was completely ruined. I won't go there again!
