Opinions de Sushi Kadan Carrollton
Ok guys, I’ve been eating sushi for many many years from the coast of Boston Massachusetts (my hometown) to Long Beach California and I would like to think I know a great deal about quality sushi. This place is a little small but they pack a Big punch when it comes to flavor and portions. The Mr. Lee roll was absolutely amazing with like 12-15 huge pieces. Did I mention mouth watering pieces? This is a must try but don’t be intimidated by all the high end vehicles in the parking lot, Mercedes, BMWs, Teslas, Lexus, and other well known makes. This place is very reasonably priced! 10 stars easy!!!
10 stars in food, service, AND atmosphere. You press the button on your table any time you’re ready to order; servers respond quickly and are so pleasant and attentive! Every single thing on the menu is delicious, fresh, and portioned generously. The best sushi restaurant I’ve had maybe ever— we’ll be back over and over and over again!!!
Called in an order to go had a special request and server over the phone was able to fullfill my request. Place was very clearn and the sushi was so fresh! Highly recommend, clean, good service and bidget friendly.
My favorite sushi place so far! The ambiance and decorations are really cute. We walked in and were sat in less than 2 minutes. The owner/manager greeted us and was really involved throughout the restaurant with the servers. We ordered tempura and 3 sushi rolls. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the rolls and the manager even offered us a cute orange cut into the shape of a bear! Service was 10/10. Would come back!!
This place is fantastic; it wraps you in the atmosphere of a Japanese garden, with the freshest and most delicious food. I go to this place every week for their Mango Paradise sushi — it has become not only my favorite, but also my best friend’s and my boyfriend’s. I’ve been trying new dishes, and I’ve liked all of them. It’s one of the best Japanese restaurants in Dallas — highly recommended!!
Absolute best sushi in town in my opinion and trust me i know good sushi \nTried over 15 sushi places in Dfw and this wins me over - huge choice, very thick rolls and always fresh fish.

Great service they offer rice free sushi for those on a strict diet. The place is quaint & has cherry blossom trees inside making it feel cozy
Honestly one of our favor spot for a sushi date night. It was actually recommended to me by a coworker and this place did not disappoint.

It's always a good experience at Sushi Kadan. The portions are large, staff is friendly, wait times are reasonable, and the ambiance is always nice.
Love coming here for a date night! The trees and decorations are so beautiful and the food is delicious. I recommend them to whoever I can.

Partner and I stopped in for bento boxes for lunch and generally had a pleasant time! First off, the atmosphere was very cozy on a cold day, with low lighting and a few trees inside decorated for Christmas. We were served promptly and each got a bento, both around $13-14. Let me tell you, for that price, we got a LOT of food. We easily could’ve shared. Each came with salad, two gyoza, 4 California rolls, 3 pieces of tempura, some tater tots, and the main course that you chose. Ours came with a LOT of rice and cabbage under our meat. So value for money is no question great here. I’d say everything in the bento was okay. The tonkotsu was almost burnt and the crust had no flavor, but it was alright. The salad dressing was very lemony, but everything was mostly bland or uninteresting. Definitely filling though! Overall, I think we would return. I just wouldn’t expect the best food you’ve ever had!
1st timer! Walked in and I loved the atmosphere and the layout. Sat down and I wasn’t sure how the service worked. Our waitress came by and I mentioned that it was our first time and asked what she would recommend, zero response, just said “What do you want?” We ordered edamame, really good. Vancouver roll- my favorite and highly recommend. Crunch Philadelphia roll and this was just as good. Overall food was amazing and I’ll be back but defiantly need to work on service.
The service members are all very nice and quick to stop by when you ring your table’s bell. Note: you must ring the bell when you’re ready to order or need anything - that’s how it’s set up, so don’t get thrown off when they don’t come by without you ringing the bell. There were lots of sushi options. We got the Mango Paradise, Dallas Cowboy, Romantic, and the Oishi rolls. It was all pretty good. I was excited for the Oishi, rolled with cucumber, but it didn’t stay in tact like other cucumber wrapped rolls I’ve had. All of the plated presentations were nice. They have oven baked sushi I’d like to try some time. We also got spicy edamame, which may be a good option if you like spicy food. There are white flowering trees for decor, making it look pretty inside.
We tried Sushi Kadan and overall had a really good experience. We ordered several rolls: Crazy Mama, Mr. Lee, Mango Roll, Las Vegas, and Crunchy Dynamite. All the rolls came out quickly, which was nice, and the presentation was clean. The fish tasted fresh and flavorful, and you could tell they use quality ingredients. We had also ordered the Crazy Girl Roll, but it ended up being sent to another table by mistake. At first, the server who brought out our food insisted it had been given to us, but after checking they realized it was a mix-up and removed it from our bill without issue. I appreciated that they corrected the mistake fairly quickly. For dessert, we tried the Tempura Ice Cream. It was a fun treat with a nice crunch, though they topped it with Hershey’s syrup, which didn’t really pair well with the ice cream. A different sauce would have complemented it better. The staff overall was friendly and upfront — they even let us know when the kitchen was closing, which we appreciated. The waiter also made sure to point out which menu items contained pork once he learned we don’t eat it, which showed real awareness and care toward the Muslim diet. That was a very nice touch and made us feel more comfortable ordering. At the same time, there were a couple of service hiccups. We had to call a waiter over because dishes were starting to pile up on our table, and water wasn’t brought out until almost the end of the meal — and even then, it came without straws. That said, the ambience was beautiful. The restaurant had these elegant decorative trees that gave the whole place a warm and inviting feel, which made the experience even better.
The atmosphere here is amazing and feels like you’re being submerged in the culture. I really liked that part. The food I ordered was a bit flavorless and took a lot of doctoring for it to taste decent. Their service depends on a button which I’d a bit different, but it works here because it’s a relatively small restaurant. I like how you can see what is being made as well.
We ordered the Vancouver Roll ($15.50), Yakuza Roll ($17.50), Alaska Roll ($17.50), Big House Roll ($14), ZigZag Roll ($15), Holdom Roll ($16.50), and Ika Geso Karaage ($9). All six rolls were tasty and the portion sizes were pretty big - the 4 of us left feeling very full and it was about $30/pp, which is solid for good tasting sushi. The fried squid wasn’t very good, I would not get it again. The service was kinda mid, since the waiters did not come around to fill our waters. Overall, this place is worth the price for the taste and quantity of food.
I was so surprised by this place; their rolls are HUGE!! I wish I had checked the pictures before I ordered. We ordered two rolls per person and a few appetizers and had way too much food. So take a look before you order, so you don’t have a 2lb to-go box. Nonetheless, this place is great. The rolls were tasty, my personal fave was the Best Alaska roll, and for the appetizer, I really enjoyed the Monkey Brain. The service was mediocre; they didn’t communicate well at all, but the food came out fast and tasted good, so for that, I’m giving 4/5 stars. Overall it’s a great value for the price.
You know how they say employees can make or break you? Well this is one of those cases. staff was tired and sluggish. Still giving it a 4 out of 5 because the salmon was really fresh and good. \nCa…

This was my second visit to Sushi Kadan, and it reaffirmed my mixed feelings about the place. To start with the positives, the restaurant is undeniably beautiful. The cherry blossom decor is stunning and makes for great photos. The atmosphere is complemented by multiple TVs playing games, which adds a casual and lively vibe. Service is also a standout—attentive and accommodating. However, when it comes to the food, it falls short of expectations. My wife and I chose Sushi Kadan because we’re on a keto diet - monetarily - and were looking for rice-less rolls and sashimi. Unfortunately, the portions were problematic. The pieces were excessively large, making them difficult to enjoy. I’d prefer the same amount of food served in smaller, more manageable pieces. For instance, despite requesting thinner slices of sashimi—a request the restaurant assured would be no problem—the sashimi arrived overly thick and somewhat chewy. The rice-less rolls were similarly oversized and lacked sufficient fish, which was disappointing. I understand why Sushi Kadan has its fans—the ambiance and service are great—but for me, the food doesn’t stand out compared to the many other sushi options in the DFW area.
Great food, very pretty inside. Lobster roll is my favorite roll there. Portions are very big. They have beer wine and sake list for alcoholic beverages. 10.29.23 have to drop the rating to thread stars . Got Luke warm hot tea and a tea bag vs steeped tea. Got served in a broken plate. The place even though remains pretty the quality of food is decreasing . We got two rolls that are giant is size. Edamame was cold and not cooked . It was getting worse but I decided to give it one more chance. Sad. But I am not coming back. Dropped review from 5 to 3 stars but it’s actually -1-2 stars . I just dislike leaving bad reviews . But at the same time my reviews have to speak the truth. We actually didn’t like the food at all and left it. Paid the bill left tip .
Would give it a higher score but they changed their spicy tuna recipe. Been going there for years and it's literally the one thing I bragged about for years.... Now it's just like everywhere else... …
The servers were nice, the salmon sashimi tasted good, the rest of our sashimi wasn't great and was cut super thick.
I dine in with my friends on Friday night. Everything is perfect. But it's really weird to see servers walking and coming to table every now and then. They have the bell in each table and it doesn't make sense if they are coming every now and then to check on you. They can simply tell each customer to press the bell whenever they need something. It's not even servers fault, I guess management is asking them to go and check on every table. Servers are really good but the management should utilize the bell options properly. Overall, the concept of bell is pretty unique and I love it as it gives more privacy for customers.
Cute little restaurant, but the food 🤢. Food presentation is nice, but that’s about it. We tried quite a bit and we both agreed it was all terrible. I was shocked to see they used frozen shrimp for the appetizer and shrimp fried rice. $15 for fried rice full of frozen shrimp and frozen vegetables. Nothing had any flavor. Very bland, and pricey. Overall I would never return or recommend.
It took them a long time to give us our food; we had to wait 20 minutes. I wouldn't go there again.

Great chefs, terrible service. We love the sushi here but this was unacceptable. Waited 50 min to be seated, brought our drinks and took our orders, as we waited, we had to repeatedly ask for something as simple as straws(which we never received) and we were constantly ignored. After another 30 min of waiting, we were told they “ran out of rice” and could not bring us our food. They offered to give us our drinks on the house (water) -_- Ps. (How does a sushi restaurant run out of rice)
Really disappointing experience. We waited 50 minutes after being given a buzzer, but no one told us it doesn’t work if you step outside — so we were left standing around with zero communication. After finally getting seated, they brought water with no straws. We asked three different times and they still never brought them, like it didn’t even matter. Then after waiting again for our food, they told us they had run out of rice… at a sushi restaurant. In total, we wasted almost 2 hours and left hungry. No real apology, no urgency — just frustration.
I went to Sushi Kadan the first time, last night, for a date. It seemed like a nice place to have a date night when I looked at their pictures on Google. The food was good and the place was pretty. However, the service was very surprising and offensive. We got there at 6:40pm. We ordered the spicy edamame, the Kushiyakitori, a Hot Night Roll, a Volcano Roll and a Mango Paradise Roll with 2 beers each. Everything was really good but I wasn't a fan of the ball of meat on top of the Volcano Roll. Maybe the ball was over cooked because it tasted like meatloaf and the rest of the roll was falling apart so much that I asked for a spoon to eat the one piece I tried. I think it was supposed to be a ball of chopped up salmon. As far as the service we had been there for almost an hour and were on our second beers and we were still eating on 2 rolls we had left. At that point a lady (not our waiter) walked up to our table and I thought the owner was coming to introduce herself since it was our first time there or ask if we were enjoying our food. I asked if she was the owner and she said yes. I put my hand out and shook her hand and said, "Nice to meet you. You're place is pretty." She said thank you and asked if we were still eating. I was taken off guard and looked kinda surprisingly at her since we still had 2 rolls left on our table and 2 beers that we clearly hadn't finished. I told her yes, we are still nibbling on these rolls and drinking our beers. She said, "Ok, it's ok if you're still nibbling." I was very confused and looked around at other tables seeing other people, that had gotten there before we did, with no food or drinks left just watching the game. I don't know what prompted her to talk to us like that but we won't be back. We would have ordered one last drink each but left and went somewhere else. We didn't even want to finish what we had left or take it to go.
