Great food! Great service!! Great prices!!! Family oriented. Very kind servers. I gave a 4 on atmosphere cause it's a lil hot. A/c is really trying, they have ceiling fans and all, but it's just a lil warm. But other than that, everything else is great!!! Don't let the a/c discourage you from trying this local owned restaurant. It was just a lil warning. Most definitely will come back. Most definitely will tell my friends. You will not be disappointed!!
23 July 2025. I had a lab appointment on East Southcross, and when I came out, my husband had chosen this restaurant for our lunch. What a delicious experience! The chips were fresh, and the salsa tasted house made. My husband had the Texas plate with beef fajitas and cheese enchiladas. I had cheese enchiladas and a cheese Chile Rellino , called a Fiesta plate. I loved it all. The flour tortillas taste house made, too. The prices were very reasonable and the service was great. We'll be back.
I order the chilaqules rojos and they where amazing will definitely recommend if you are going and its your first time
This is a great little find! The food is fantastic, the people are really nice, and have I mentioned that the food is fantastic??!!! Each time we’ve been here, we’ve tried different menu items, and they have all been very good. Such a great little place!
Delicious! Wanted to have a quick lunch on our way home and we are so glad we came across this place. We had the carne guisada and the the pastor mini tacos and they were both excellent. Service was exceptional. Felt like we were eating a home cooked meal.
Con Amor Cocina is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and made to feel at home. The cashier, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure our visit was absolutely perfect. Her attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and genuine care for her customers really stood out. The rest of the staff was equally welcoming and accommodating, creating a wonderful, positive atmosphere. The food? Simply phenomenal. Everything was bursting with flavor and made with love and care—true to the name of the restaurant. Whether you’re craving something hearty or something light, their menu has something for everyone, and everything we tried was cooked to perfection. If you’re looking for amazing food, stellar customer service, and an experience that feels personal and inviting, look no further than Con Amor Cocina. This place is a gem, and I can’t wait to come back!
Just found out about this place!! The last taco place I was going to sucked. This place is awesome!!! The food was amazing 🤩 definitely favorite spot near my neighborhood! And the staff is super attentive and friendly!! The carne guisada reminds me of my grandma's cooking.
Great food excellent server Leo was awesome. Recommend five stars.
This was a surprise. Friend recommended because we were close . Very clean and charming family owned store. Soups were above average and the mole was very tasty. Prices average for the dishes. But each tasted very fresh.
I just had the most delicious Pozole verde I had to get a e tra bowl to go for work , I cant wait for dinner time lol 😋
All I can say is you need to try try the chili relleno wow it is good my husband and I went to go have lunch , oh my God this place is highly recommended.
Very good menudo 1st time here . Just tried the pozole, 7/20/2025 , excellent, close to homemade. La salsa de chime de arbol is amazing. 15 🌟
Disregard all the negative reviews that others have written. ALL of their food is homemade and even states on a sign that it will take some time to make because they make every dish from scratch! I absolutely love the Pazole Rojo it brought me back memories when my great-grandmother used to make it. Just be patient and enjoy your food because it’s absolutely delicious!
The waitress Lupe was very friendly and welcoming! This was our first time here and EVERYTHING about this place made us feel at home.
Food was excellent. The service was awesome. The prices were reasaponable. I'm so coming back soon.⁰
I love hole in the walls Mexican food places, it’s always so authentic. My husband and my food was spot on, the flour tortillas were my favorite, you can tell they were homemade and you could still feel the flour on them, always my favorite thing ever. I had the bacon and egg plate, my husband had the machicado plate.
Recommend the Chilequiles verdes and champurrado. Everyone loved the caldos and tortillas both flour and corn 🌽. Great service even for a large groups.
This morning my partner and I went to Con Amor Cocina. I had seen a post about their menudo and barbaqoa taco and that’s exactly what I wanted on a Sunday morning. Man, my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I ordered the large menudo. This bowl was swimming in flavor! I kid you not, the flavor of the menudo is the best I’ve had so far. I didn’t use the diced onions or jalapeños in it, just cilantro. The barbaqoa taco was just as flavorable, tasted fresh, not something that sat for days. My partner had the bacon & ham omelette with a side of potatoes. He enjoyed his breakfast as well. Pair all that with some hot fresh coffee and you got yourself a very enjoyable morning. Someone said their flour tortillas aren’t made in house, but I don’t care, they were fine for me. And don’t get me started on their corn tortillas. I could kick myself for not taking any home with me. I was gonna say that y’all need to stop by for breakfast or lunch but they were not short on customers. That place was busy which says a lot about a place. Foil wrapped tacos were going out the door like crazy! Met one of the owners of the place and the ladies that keep the place running. Very friendly bunch. Y’all definitely need to stop by. I need to go back for their caldo de res very soon! 10/10. 👍🏼🙂 — eating breakfast at Con Amor Cocina.
Awesome locally owned restaurant! Chile relleno plate is so delicious!
I had their Chilaquiles Rellenos De Queso en salsa verde, and it was down right delicious!!! These Chilaquiles are so unique because the tortillas are larger than the typical ripped or cut pieces we typically get in a normal dish of Chilaquiles. What makes them really amazing is that the tortillas come stuffed with cheese and they were so delicious. It comes sprinkled with crumbled cheese and green salsa. There is parking in front but you can also park along the side street. Our server checked on us routinely and the place has a nice cozy atmosphere, oh and it's self seating.
This is a hidden gem for sure!! The chilaquiles con salsa verde and the huevos rancheros were delicious!! The chips and salsa were fresh, homemade and sooo good! The staff was fast and very friendly. 10/10 highly recommended!
Great food, delicious pozole verde, and great service.
My family has dined at Con Amor Cocina several times since its opening, breakfast, brunch & lunch. We've enjoyed pleasant conversations with the young hip owners & waitstaff. The food is only the freshest ingredients and always made to order. Comes out HOT every time! Something you don't see in a lot of establishments anymore. Try the Authentic Mole Sauce made from scratch, soooo good!!!! We absolutely love it here & will continue to make the trek from our home in the medical center to Con Amor Cocina for some DELICIOUS "just like grandma used to make" food. 5 Stars!
The menudo was hands-down one of the best I’ve had the flavor was delicious!! And even a small was enough to fill me up the whole day
Loved this place. Great authentic neighborhood Mexican food. Diverse menu of favorites and great lunch specials.
Absolutely love coming here on Sunday mornings with my family. They have pretty authentic Mexican food, yummy Tex Mex food, and HUGE portions. There is a mix of traditional food and then they make a twist to it. The staff is always friendly. In all the visits I’ve come, and it’s been many, have I ever had a complaint. This is where I take family when they are visiting town because it truly showcases the culture of San Antonio.
Great tacos and taco specials. The omelette is super big and yummy. Great stop to feel the true neighborhood vibe of SA.
Really great food! I had the chorizo and egg plate with an horchata. My partner had the ham and egg plate, and my kid had the pancake plate. Everything was absolutely delicious! We’re definitely going back.
Great lunch spot. Have had the crispy tacos and mini tacos while my partner has had the enchiladas and chile relleno - all have enjoyed. Love that they have daily specials! Good customer service and fast casual.
I love this place in my neighborhood. It has a bit of everything I love. Everything is made fresh daily, the food hits my soul, and service is excellent. I would def recommend both rojo and verde pozole, steak a la mexicana plate, their tortillas, and their limonada😍😍😍

The waitress Lupe was very friendly and welcoming! This was our first time here and EVERYTHING about this place made us feel at home.
Food was good . The building a little old and run down and they had fans inside no air conditioner.
Food was good. The lady took the wrong order and my friends were done eating by the time I got my posole but they were busy so no big deal.
Great food prepared perfect...,their breakfast tortas are top notch....huge tacos packed...this location has had several restaurants but this has the staying power.
Can I just start with these chips? Quite simply, these are some of the best chips in existence. A little thick and perfect for your salsa. They are addictive. Everything I tasted today was perfect. Fideo loco was on point. Queso en salsa was amazing and good size serving. Con Amor will be added to my San Antonio rotation for sure.
Chicken fajita nachos are great.
First time at this restaurant. Food was so good. Chilaqiles, Beef enchiladas, carne guisada taco, bean & cheese chalupas. The chalupa shells were great because they didn't fall apart on the first bite. Prices were very reasonable and the service was great as well.

This place is ok with ok food.better then the worst place I tried flower tortillas were falling apart over cooked bean and cheese tased like the bean dip for Fritos chips…the ceiling looks like it wants to come down looks like they sprayed foam to hold some spots from falling mold spots on some parts too
Nothing special. As boring as this review sounds, I have nothing bad or good to say about this place. The only thing I feel is worth mentioning is that they are very limited in staff. I showed up with two friends while they were busy, and they had ONE waiter and ONE cashier/to go person. The service was, of course, very slow. But it wasn't their fault. Management is skimping on labor, and their clientele is suffering for it.

I called in an order for caldo. I picked it up and got home poured it a bowl. As I was pouring into the bowl I had nothing but cabbage, and one celery stick, one 1/2 of a carrot,, one tiny cobb of corn. I paid 15 dollars for it. It was definitely a disappointment. I should of gone to my usual place. I tried giving a small business a chance. I will not be going bad..oh and the meat was nothing but fat.
I ate there about seven months ago and it was so good. Sunday I went to go order me a Barbacoa taco for breakfast to go. Since I have eaten there before I knew the Barbacoa taco would be so tasty. But I was so disappointed because it was terrible and I just toke 2 bites and just Stopped eating the taco. The tortilla was not homemade and had no taste and then the Barbacoa was so greasy and did not look or taste like all beef and had a lot of fatty nuggets in it. I just was so disappointed. Did the restaurant change the cook and now buy their tortillas instead of the fresh ones they use to make? My friend also went with me and order some different tacos and said she only took a bite and could not finish her taco's because they did not taste good at all. I hope the restaurant change s back to the food they use to serve because it was very tasty.
The bacon in my taco was burnt and the carne guisada was hard. The eggs were so dry. Very sad. The big girl working the cash register looks bored and doesn’t have customer service skills. Will not return to this place
