The food is soooo good. It’s nostalgic. I don’t remember the last time I had a cup of koolaid. Their koolaid is made perfectly- takes me right back to childhood. And the burgers are real beef - not some pre-made flat fake patty. A seasoned hamburger patty is hard to come by. If you want fast food that feels like you made it at home, come here! It’s fire!

Most friendly services and the best fish fry anywhere, hands down! Please try their crispiest fish fry, you will not be disappointed!!

Wow!! The pork tenderloin sandwich is phenomenal! That and the tots were at quite a bargain price. Will be returning! Thanks for a superior meal! Oh, and I used the drive thru, so I didn't check out the atmosphere.

This was a wonderful experience!! We drove by this place the other day and decided today we would try it. First...... Kool aid, YES THAT'S RIGHT, KOOL AID! I got fruit punch but they offered grape and I forgot the other flavor. I'M IN LOVE, THIS WAS GREAT!!! ON POINT!!! One sip and bam, childhood memories. We got two double sole burgers and one big box with fish. All of it was amazing with zero complaints. Pleasantly surprised with the soul Burger it had a bit of a smokey barbecue flavor as if it was cooked on the grill. It was quite a surprise. The flavors!!!!! Even the fish was delicious and tender on the inside while a nice light crunch on the outside. We will be back this was awesome. You have just gained two more customers and I will be talking about you guys at my work. Very friendly service also. You might have a little bit of a wait, but it is worth the wait, because you are getting freshly made food. Thank you for a wonderful meal!!

Just what I needed. Here, you will find nice food, nice service, and nice smiles. Lunch offered during breakfast hours. Breakfast was delicious with hints from the grill. Had to try lunch too, and it was also pleasing. Their soul burger is really a “soul burger “; takes me back to when I was a kid, with its infused smoky flavor…just how dad used to make. I hope this place is here to stay! And, appreciate the drive/thru!

I have been there twice in the last week. 1st time I went for their Fish And Chicken combo it was 🔥🔥. Nice portions, and the fish has an amazing seasoning and texture. The greens were huge portions and bursting with a depth of flavors. This morning I just went for their Steak and eggs breakfast special!! Even better than expected. Great place! great Vibe! Exceptional service both times. Very polite!!!

I came in 30 minutes before close and received my order of 4 wings and fries in 10 minutes. I also ordered a tropical punch kool aid at the suggestion of the young woman taking my order for nostalgia’s sake. The chicken was crunchy however salted a bit heavier than I prefer but still very good. The kool aid though was 1990 all over again!! It was childhood sweet like in “House Party” I kept finding myself sipping it and laughing at how sweet it was but how fire it was! I ended up cutting it with water and lemon cause my adult diabetes fearing bloodstream was saying “Stop this immediately!” but it was just like I enjoyed it as a child grateful for the lemon and water so I could finish it! I had a JOYFUL time drinking and eating this meal. It brought back memories that just made me giggle like a child.

This is a small independent spot. They have a drive thru, and a lot of outdoor seating. I very much enjoyed the Double Soul Burger, Chicken Sandwich and Kool-aid were all excellent, and I will definitely order all of them again. My friend got the Tenderloin and it looked pretty good, too. I’m excited to try the breakfast; which is served all day. Super friendly people. Check them out, and don’t sleep on the kool-aid.

Stopped in to try the cinnamon rolls today. They’re quite large for $2 and delicious.

I don't frequent 61st & Troost, but this place is worth checking out if you're nearby. Dbl soul-burger combo is better value than you get at any chain fast food.

This is not the first time we’ve came and got the chicken and waffles but this will definitely be the last time. First we asked for all wings and we both had a thigh and a leg and one wing. We called to see if they would make it right he said he would but he didn’t just gave use 4 wings.. our food was cold my bf is a truck driver and I work from home, the only time we get together is in the mornings, he literally spent the whole morning diving back in forth to big mouths just for him to not even remake our order and we took all the food back untouched. This is the waffles I got.. Soo our whole order was chicken waffles and fried potatoes. They wouldn’t remake anything just gave us 4 wings for both orders we spent over 30 dollars for this trash

So I go to order a cinnamon roll and she warms it up which I did not ask her to only to burn all my frosting off. The food service here in Kansas City has become horrible not on the quality of the food but the prices, if your not dining at a five star restaurant expect to get less quality food.

This food is trash. This place deserves negative starts. First off the manager/owner whoever he is, very rude! Horrible customer service I came to this restaurant to try the $5 deal. You get what you pay for is an understatement. So I pulled up my voice was very hoarse because my throat was dry because of allergies he told me I sounded like a man that's fine I'll take that for a sick day! So I got my food which again looked and smelled like trash 🤮 the seasoning was fire but the fries were very overcooked and tasted like cardboard. The fish I picked up broke in half, it felt and looked like rubber I was scared to taste it. Last but not least the greasy falling apart burger! It almost got thrown out the window! Don't eat here. Your bound to end up hospitalized

This was my first time trying this place. The wait was forever. I should have called it in. I order 4 wings & my side was collard greens. After about a 20-25 minute wait I got my food. I got back to work and took a fork full of the greens and they were bland, bland, bland. Took a bite of chicken and the chicken was bland, bland, bland. I could not believe it because where they are located I just assumed that the food would be seasoned and good. I try to support all our black restaurants in the KC area. This one is not the one for me.....ijs....I like seasoned food!!!

Got charged $11.19 and no receipt 🧾 The burgers are so nasty 🤢. They put A1 sauce or Worcestershire or liquid smoke in.. burger was done fast which is probably why it was not done. Did not come with tomato, onion or anything that he stated it would Don't waste your time. The tea was good.

The fish tasted like hot fish-flavored rubber, barely any breading. The guy at the window had nerve enough to try and charge me $10.99, when the menu said $6.99; and he then got an attitude when I told him what the menu advertised. He then tossed my food at me and slammed his drive thru window. I can’t…so gross on so many levels!

The person who made my food had just been outside smoking. He came back inside and started preparing my order with only one glove on, without washing his hands. When I got my food, it didn’t look safe, so I ended up throwing it away😞😞😞

Make sure you check your order! That’s my lesson I learned while experiencing this establishment. I ordered two cinnamon rolls didn’t receive them and an order of turkey bacon in which I didn’t receive. The rest of my order that I got tasted burnt, dry, wasn’t what I ordered, and I’m not satisfied at all! I hope anyone else doesn’t have to experience this and I hope the establishment does better!

Everything about this place is bad. The service was terrible, i knew it was going to be bad when i could smell the old reused grease from the drive through window. I got two cold burgers, cheese wasn't even melted which let me know they were not fresh and had been sitting awhile. My fries where so nasty. This is a disgrace to black owned businesses

The person who made my food had just been outside smoking. He came back inside and started preparing my order with only one glove on, without washing his hands. When I got my food, it didn’t look safe, so I ended up throwing it away😞😞😞
