Opinions de Boba Guys Alameda
I want to keep this place a secret! No longer do we need to travel to SF to get boba perfection. Everything I’ve had here has been excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the space is small but there are 4 tables inside and 4 outside. We may have been lucky but we got street parking right out front. Will be returning soon! Welcome to the neighborhood Boba Guys!
I love that there is a new location opened closer to downtown and Pasadena (where I typically stay when visiting LA). The location does seem like it's in the middle of nowhere, but that means plenty of street parking! I think it's a great location close to the highway and kinda smack in the middle of the city. If you typically think of Boba Guys, it's usually limited seating with a small cramped store but this one is spacious with outdoor seating! I'm a fan and this will be my LA goto spot from now on. I've been drinking the strawberry matcha before it became fad... and guess what... it is STILL my favorite drink after all these years! :)
Often imitated but never duplicated. Boba Time tried it, other milk tea places are trying it, but there is no other place that does Strawberry Matcha Latte quite like boba guys. It's smooth here, the strawberry doesn't taste weird. I won't argue with anyone if you wanna compare specific things like the boba balls, the quality of the tea itself, the milk, if you like Half and Half more or Ten Ren more. When it comes to the specific drink Strawberry Matcha Latte, Boba guys is the originator and I have yet to see anyone else do it better. I like it with almond milk and almond jelly but that's my personally.
This location seems to have more specialty items than the Culver location. I went to the culver location a few months before, and they did not have the calpico, along with many of the other specialties. This location also has a few tables inside and more outside if you want to sit with some friends and chat or do some work. Parking is bad! It is street parking and there were no spots close by when I came at 8pm on a sat night. I parked across the street near a church. Less than half the tables were occupied inside so it doesn't seem too hard to grab a seat. I always get the strawberry matcha latte w/ oatmilk and light ice and it has never failed me!!
Top tier boba! Their boba pearls and drink combinations are incredible and well designed. I’ve been to several boba guys locations across Southern California and have been wowed every time. My favorite is still the Strawberry Matcha Oatmilk latte with boba! If you’re in the area, I’d highly recommend stopping by.
The boba was amazing, and the drink was unique, something Bananna. Weird that they didn't have a trash can for customers.
So let’s be honest: LA does not have the best boba game, not when you compare it to the SGV. Boba guys changes that. The tapioca (the actual boba) is cooked fresh most of the time, the menu is versatile, & different milk options/alternatives are always available. The Decaf Rose tea is a banger for those looking to stay away from caffeine but don’t want to be left out from the milky tea goodness! The Strawberry and Mango jasmine teas are show stoppers as well! The only thing that is stopping me from giving Boba guys an A+++ is if they started carrying Pudding as a topping for the drinks. The mochi topping is a great alternative if the texture doesn’t bug you 👍 Overall thankful that there is still a place in LA that serves bomb boba 💣💣💣
Great boba place. Strawberry matcha is the thing to first try out. Spacious location with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They have online ordering available. The street parking can get tricky sometimes, but there’s always parking right across the street.
Came here while visiting LA, and had the matcha strawberry latte. It was so good I had to return to get it again before I left! I recommend getting it with oat milk & boba. I tried the almond jelly as well. It was good, not as good as the drink is with boba. The cafe is very cute and quiet! The staff is also amazingly friendly and helped with my questions. Will definitely be adding this to my itinerary again next time i visit LA!
Thai tea was not as strong as I'm used to. Was a bit of watered down version. My son got the strawberry fields drink which was coconut milk and strawberry puree. He really liked it. I have had the bannana bread drink before and that was really good.
We love this brand!! Any city that my family and I are visiting, we always search for a Boba Guys location! Our family favourite drinks are: oolong tea with honey and Boba, hibiscus with boba, Matcha latte with Boba, and mango sticky rice and Boba! We highly recommend this brand!
Love the variety of different flavours! I usually get 50% sweetness on any drink and it’s perfect for me! All the staff are very kind even when very busy and both quick and polite during service! My favourite is the Ube Latte with boba; though you can’t really go wrong here; bubble tea here is my go-to after a long day in the office. Classic milk tea is also good here and the ube brownies are superb (a collaboration product!).
To start with, I love Boba. This place was really yummy. One thing to note, I've noticed some boba places are more tea centered and some have other options like smoothies. This boba location is more tea centric, which is fine, but I tend to like more smoothie based bobas. I had the horchata with a shot of espresso and it was very enjoyable! The service was standard and pleasant. Counter service like any coffee shop. Cute decor and very yummy boba!
It’s a very cozy nice and relaxing boba place. Love the set up and design of the store. I ordered the Hong Kong milk tea with grass jelly. It’s good~ I mean the drinks are not surprisingly outstanding but it’s a pleasant drink for weekends:) I Recommend it!
The interior, the design, and the service of this location is superb. Although they are named Boba Guys, they sell a lot of other interesting options. They have an 88 rising summer special drink right now. The matcha strawberry latte is great as was the strawberry milk. The ube is also very good. We loved the lego sign. All in all, I would recommend. The parking situatiom sucks though.
The most amazing boba I’ve ever had! Customer service was top tier & it was truly so delicious. So glad we stopped by here during our time in LA! 10/10 highly recommended.
First time coming here. I had the Thai tea it was really good and there boba is really delicious. I got extra boba on my drink. I recommend this spot if you are looking for a boba spot.
I am a Certified Boba Boy and I love Boba... and Boba Guys is dang good with some of their creative ways to craft and layer their drinks. This time around, I got their Strawberry Jasmine w/ Boba and one of their delicious milk teas. You can't go wrong here with your options; the boba stays soft and w/ a slight chew. @phidingthefam
Boba guys is soooo good! I live in OC and always see Instagram posts for Boba Guys and finally got to try it during a trip to LA. Now, whenever I'm there I have to stop by for a drink. Their menu is super unique and it's a cool vibe inside, they also have merch you can get for a really reasonable price. My new favorite tote is a Boba Guys tote lol. I really like how drinks are customizable too, you can switch up what kind of milk you want and that kind of thing. They also have seasonal and limited edition drinks, so those are fun to try!
I love the unique flavours that they offer at Boba Guys! The Matcha caramel was one of my favourites because the caramel tasted like Werther‘s candy. I also love that they offer alternative milk since most places don’t.

my drink (mango boba tea) was good and not overpriced like a lot of places. the staff were very nice, nobody else was there when i went so very chill and would be a good place to get work done.

FOOD INSTAGRAM: @northtx.gemz •••• 🍒 WHAT THEY’RE KNOWN FOR: boba franchise I thought was only in LA but apparently there are locations in big cities like NYC, San Francisco, etc. 🍒WHAT WE ORDERED: • Large Strawberry Fresca Tea w/ Boba • Regular Lychee Oolong Tea w/ Boba 🍒 PRICE: ~$15 🍒 THE VIBE: rustic modern vibes! Super clean bathroom at this location lol. 🍒 WOULD I COME BACK? Yes. •••• Overall Rating: 8.5/10 - @bobaguys 🧋 - I’ve been wanting to try this so long because I watch @misstiffanyma on YouTube and she goes here multiple times a week and I’ve been wanting it for so long! - Let me start off with how unique and diverse their menu is! I wish I got to try more flavors because they have cool flavors like mango jasmine, Midori cloud, mango matcha latte, sawadee cloud which is the cream cheese foam cold brew and Thai tea?! Like everything is so unique and delicious sounding. - I got Tiffany’s exact strawberry tea Fresca order and I will say the flavor was immaculate but the boba I had this day in particular was lowkey hard! It wasn’t soft and chewy it was definitely on the not good and hard side. I will say the potential is there and I’ll definitely be back to try more flavors bc the drink was good regardless.
It's so great to have a boba place open so close to the LA Music Center. I went here during my lunch break and it's fantastic. The boba is so soft and fresh. I ordered the Green tea strawberry milk tea and it was the delicious! They use high quality macha and the fresh strawberry puree makes a huge difference to the flavor of the drink. The price of the drinks are on the higher side, but for a special treat it's perfect! There is plenty of street parking at least when I have gone during lunch. Look forward to my next visit.
A hip Boba place tucked into a more unlikely part of Central Los Angeles. Great drinks with attention to flavor, though the tea quality leaves a little bit to be desired for purists. An excellent example of American Boba. The interior is suitable for hanging out, and there's a smaller patio for good weather. Unfortunately there is only street parking, which is often limited. Try the almond pudding and the chia seeds to add to your tea.
I still vividly remember that in 2019, when I was in Union Square, San Francisco, the Boba Guys outlet there was so crowded. I was so curious to try their products, especially their iconic strawberry matcha latte. Finally, I was able to try it at one of their outlet in LA. The place isn't that big, but it's comfortable to be here. Boba Guys provides various tea, coffee, matcha & hojicha, fruit frescas, milk tea with various toppings. They also sell various tea and merchandises to bring back home. I definitely tried their Strawberry Matcha Latte for $6.40. This drink is the combination of matcha, milk, and strawberry puree. Mix them all together. The matcha taste isn't that strong, it was more into milky with a hint of strawberry. But overall, this drink is refreshing and less sweet.
Their signature menu is strawberry matcha latte. The size od store is quiet small so it’s not really comfortable to wait in a queue. They have various menu choices from just teas to boba latte. So you can pick whatever your taste meets. Dont know if there is a parking spot or not.
Tropic thunder w boba: Wow this was so amazingly good! The mango purée and coconut milk go really well together. There's muffled grapefruit on top but maybe including more mixed in the drink would take it to the next level. The boba was alright. The flavor was halfway between homemade plastic and store made sweet; the texture was on the harder overcooked side.

Overall, I love their Strawberry Matcha with boba and almond jelly. A few complaints I have is I pay an extra $0.65 for each topping, however instead of giving me the amount of what I pay for they give me half the amount of boba and almond jelly. I paid $1.30. This may be a couple of cents but the entire drink costs $7.75 (not including tax, delivery fee and tip). That’s unheard of especially knowing how much it REALLY costs to make these drinks. In addition, I wouldn’t be writing this review if there was a number I can call and resolve this issue. However, there’s no number or contact information anywhere to be found. Staff at Boba guys, please don’t short change what we pay for. It’s the principle that counts. Thank you.
Great drinks and nice staff but last two times I came here they didn’t even have boba lol. Normally I would give them five stars but I’ve kind of had it. They don’t serve boba until 30 minutes after they open. It’s weird but I went with it. But last two times I was there at 11:45 and 12 (they open at 11) and still no boba. Huh? The drinks are really pricey so I can’t justify spending $8+ on a drink that’s just a regular coffee drink that I could get anywhere else for $5.
Trendy decor with indoor and outdoor sitting area. I love their merchandise and they are the only boba place in Los Angeles (what I've been to so far) that use biodegradable straw. I ordered the Earl Grey milk tea with boba. I'm old fashion and for me a Earl Grey tea supposed to be strong. I cannot taste the tea favor and they use almond milk instead of condensed milk. This is not the old fashion Milk Tea I'm used to and I preferred my milk tea the old way.
Another Sunday afternoon adventuring for boba. 3/5 since it was not worth the hype at all. I grabbed the black sesame latte and my sister grabbed a strawberry matcha. Not the best boba or milk tea, but I was in the area and decided to stop by.
Parking: street parking is a pain so plan accordingly Their merch is sooooo cute! They even have enamel pins of their signature drinks. I wanted a mason jar but they didn’t have any. Decor is super cute too! Not too much seating but there are also seats and table right outside Love the ability to customize your drinks here.

We got 3 different milk teas to give a try to this place. And it was so watery! I don't understand how this place has so high star rating on Google maps. It's not worth it. There are a lot other places out there to enjoy quality milk tea but not this one. And we had a problem adjusting sweetness. For original milk tea we asked: can we do 0 sugar, and he agreed with that and a moment later: you know, it's premixed. We can not. Why you need to give hope and then take it away.
Tea is not fragrant at all and tea to milk ratio is not good. Too much milk. The grass jelly has a strange after taste.
I’ve always been curious about this place, so I finally decided to try it via delivery. Honestly, it’s probably one of the most overrated boba spots I’ve had and not worth the price at all. You can barely taste the tea because everything tasted watered down, overly sweet, and loaded with ice. The tons of ice definitely don’t help and just dilute the drink even more. There’s no option for less ice which now makes sense because they really pack it in, and that feels a bit shady. On top of that the boba itself was hard and gross, which made the drinks even more disappointing. I’m glad I satisfied my curiosity, but I won’t be ordering again. I’m genuinely surprised they’re still around when there are so many better boba places out there. Paying $8+ for a drink like this is highway robbery. This might appeal to people who aren’t familiar with what good quality boba and strong tea should taste like.
They opened an additional spot in Los Angeles. The boba is good and consistent. The reason why this place recieved such a low mark is because parking is horrible. You'll have to street park. There is a parking lot next to the shop but it's not intended for customers. If you're expecting a quick stop and go, it'll be impossible unless you get lucky with parking.
Ordered sticky mango rice and ube with boba, and they forgot to add boba for sticky mango rice one. We found it when we already left so couldn’t claim. Those drinks were not really impressive as well. The mango one was too sweet and the rice was too firm. Ube was too light, well it’s mentioned on website so can’t complain. very difficult to find parking. online order is fast and easy, and drink were served very quick though. maybe tea bases are better to try, but not sticky mango rice and ube

So I just went to Boba guys and found the cashier to be extremely rude. There was no welcome or customer service provided. They also had no boba ready which made absolutely no sense. Overall not a good experienced. Staff seems unprepared and unprofessional.
Belittling and rude with the lady employee. I asked what they have on their strawberry milk just to make sure my 5 year old can drink it and she was dreading the explanation of what is on the ingredient with a bit of sarcasm in her tone. On my 3rd order, she asked me how much sugar i wanted and looked at her with puzzled face as she stared at me with annoyance. So i asked if its packets and she went on schooling me with all the percentages or what not. Okay not everyone reviews and does their homework of the ingredients of the beverage before they order in a boba place. Its a drink and all customers should be treated with a little respect especially her knowing its my first, ordering at this place. Also if you have a policy of not being able to take in 100 bill, have it written somewhere so that people are aware! I don't think this business should be in Filipino town. Being in LA, you have more competition, little Tokyo alone has Milk-T, Sharp Tea, It's Boba Time, etc. ( which I never have encountered employees with smart aleck and annoyed to serve customers attitude). It just so happened the convenience of the Boba Guys just happens to be down the block from my house made it my first option to go at the time. Her schooling me made me research on the CEO of this company, I am sure Andrew Chau's vision of this company isn't a company that is built with rudeness and disrespectful employees. Unless he has no care for his customers that are helping build and establish his company!
