Great spot. Healthy eats. In a past life this building held Elaine Brown’s campaign HQ when she ran for City Council in 1975. She got 44% of the vote.

I only come for the thrive smoothie since I have many food allergies. Really yummy! Quite busy during lunch hour, but at 3 p.m. relatively quiet. 😊

Love the coffee, bagel, and indoor seating! Hope the business gets busy.

I want to let the comunity of Oakland what a fine Establishment this place is. A couple of weeks ago i was downtown with my 3 year old daughter and we walked the entire block looking for any restauraunt or business for my daughter to use the restroom and were denied by everyone even after i offered to buy something.All except for Coco Cafe that is.The Owner/Manager saw a little girl who needed a restroom and helped us and unselfishly expecting nothing in return.I wish there were more businesses like this with a heart for people and their community instead of just businesses only Caring about money and themselves.THANK YOU COCO CAFE! IF THERE WAS A 6 STAR AVAILABLE YOU WOULD SURELY GET IT! Ericson Dennett and Noelle Dennett.

Quick service and good food for a reasonable price. Parking is definitely a pain but if you go during off peak meal times, it's very fast.

Great sandwiches at a good price. I usually get the sandwich and green salad combo for $9. Great value and good food.

The coffee you get here is amazing and the prices too are reasonable. If you’re around downtown Oakland, please do yourself a favor by stopping by at this place.

The place is operated by the owner it seems. We had a Cappuccino and Machiatto, a California Breakfast Sandwich and a Lemon Bar. All was good and fresh! Service was also fast! We spent $20. I just wish the place had some music or something to make it more appealing. Inside it has two (or 3) small tables with two chairs and some stools by the window. Nice selection of juices, coffees and sandwiches.

The chicken pesto panini here is hefty and good. Good crisp on the bread from the press, and everything goes together quite well. The cafe is also a bit of a general store with packaged snacks and desserts, which is a plus.

Best breakfast burrito of my LIFE on god. The sausage one is the best. Owner is super friendly, calls everyone friend and you can tell he means it. Service is fast, coffee is good. Not much seating but it's fine. I was in the store for about 20 minutes and in that time I saw three regulars come in and he knew them all by name and I think that's a really good indicator of how good a place is. Highly recommend. I will be back

The owner was so friendly, the food was delicious and great value for money. My family and I needed breakfast before getting on the road, and Coco Cafe did not disappoint. The breakfast burrito, bagel, and an assortment of breakfast sandwiches were all heartily enjoyed by my hungry fam. The smoothies are also really good! Make this one of your food stops while in Oakland!

Great little cafe. I work in downtown Oakland and wanted to find a new place for breakfast. I happily stumbled upon this cafe and did not leave disappointed. I ordered the breakfast burrito and a vanilla latte. The burrito was delicious. It comes with your choice of breakfast meat (chicken sausage, bacon, ham…), eggs, tomatoes, cheese, guacamole and jalapeños. You can add or remove items if you want. The latte was a bit too sweet for my liking. I’m guessing the gentleman at the counter is the owner and he was very nice and welcoming. As I ordered my food and drink, it started to get busy, which is a good sign. I definitely recommend this cafe. I’ll be back to try other items on the menu.

Beyond that, this place is an ideal spot and is exactly what I needed nearby my work in downtown Oakland. Most places don’t open until 8am and I am at work by 7:30 so this place opening at 7 is so helpful. They have an espresso machine and make great coffee drinks, willl have to try a breakfast sandwich next time. Also lots of chips and packaged snacks to grab and go. Reminds me a lot of a NY deli, so glad I found this spot. Thank you 🙏

Wonderful little Cafe hidden in the heart of the downtown Oakland business center on Franklin between 19th and 20th. Fantastic service, generous portions, and most than reasonable prices. The owner is also very kind, if you get the chance to stop by its well worth it!

Reasonable prices and friendly service. Smoothies are pretty good, breakfast burrito was great. A very casual place with a good amount of options on the menu (coffees, smoothies, salads, sandwiches, paninis, and more).

The paninis are exceptional and the thrive smoothie is highly recommended. The proprietor is a great guy who has a friendly and warm demeanor. I am a regular customer who intends to stay that way.

Not a bad place for a light salad. I ordered the Booberry Salad without the blue cheese and asked for parmesan as a substitute. They were very accommodating. I pre-ordered and didn't have to wait in any line. The salad itself was ok, average. No complaints. There wasn't anything that really made it different. The roasted bed peppers were a good addition though.

Didn't honor their posted hours (which Google says were edited by the owners recently). Arranged to meet someone there at 2 (hours say open until 4 daily) and they were closed. No notice, no sign, no apology.

shawarma wrap was not good, just gave chicken pieces inside a tortilla with some cut veggies

Nice little nook but Aroma Cafe a few doors down is 10/10 better. All I wanted was a cup of ice and they had no ice! A cafe with no ice?
