Fresco Pizza Grill Shawerma

I have lived in SF for seven years and have tried lots of pizza places during that time... This one is underrated. We go out of our way to come here for the jalapeño and onion pizza, to-go. I'll never forget when we picked one up on our way to Tahoe and got stuck in the snow storm for 12 hours with only a few slices left. Even hours after we picked it up, the pizza was still incredible, so we turned it into a road trip tradition. The people working there are super friendly, answer the phone quickly, and keep your food hot even when you're running late for pickup.

Not sure about the food yet but just based on the customer service I'm scoring it high. Door Dash gave us the wrong order, DD would not take responsibility for the error they remade our order which cost them. Thought I'd make sure to at least give them credit for the customer service in this matter.

Freshly cooked yummy food! Excellent service. Clean place. Dine in or take out either way worth it. 😍

What can I say about Fresco? It's my "go to" pizza place on Polk St. Not only is their pizza great, they have the best cheeseburger, fries and soda combo for lunch. And the late night delivery drivers are the hottest in the city.

Best chicken calzone I’ve had in a long time! The bread was super fresh and yummy, and the flavors were perfect. You can really tell they care about quality here. 10/10! Definitely will be coming back!

O wow this Place is amazing.. The fact that this place isnt 5* confuses me its a little hard to find due to many restaurants around but don't settle lol. The Baklava is omg out of this world and the Pastas you can order wrong at this place ive ordered from them close to 10 times and always everything is spot on ask for J super cool and chill :)

I normally give out 5's because everyone has their own qualities. But these guys can be just a little bit sheisty. It's good enough food. Open late late. The spicy lamb shawarma kebab is pretty good.

Tried lamb shawarma. I think what I got was beef. Didn't care. The hot souce was excellent. Not too hot, but yummy substance of amazing color. It made the whole difference

Very bad pizza but nice servers and they will give you water in a bowl

I really wanted to like this place, but the food was overpriced for the quality. They also charge a secret "checkout" fee of 4.3% if you pay with a credit card, but they don't have a sign informing you of that. The menu prices are high already, and then getting nickel-and-dimed over credit card fees without even a warning feels so disrespectful to the customer.

Terrible customer service. I ordered a cheese burger and fries. Every other time it was $8.14 including tax but the last time I went they tried to charge me $8.75. I did the math for them with my calculator multiple times and they argued with me. I told them I wouldnt be supporting their buisness and to give me my money back. They refused until my bf called the police. This is not an honest business. I do not suggest going here.

After calling FRESCO PIZZA to place an order for the Fresco All Day Deal; which online states it is a 16” 2-topping pizza, 2- liter soda & onion rings for $16.49, the guy who took my order said my total would be $34.99 and that is for the 2-topping pizza & either 3 CANS of soda OR 3 bottled waters, NO ONION RINGS… after telling him the price for the deal online, he said that they don’t have any pizza for $16.49. How rude and false advertisement. I guess I’ll just stick to the BIG BOX FOOD COMPANIES since they have to stick to advertised prices. Sheeeesh

I had a crazy diarrhea from their chicken wings, didn't even go to work next day. Stay away from this place if you value your life. Nowadays I go to Piccolo Italian Pizzeria, more professional n quality food.

I always order pizza shawarma in DoorDash and really liked it . I decided to come in person and try the dine in experience as their pizza were great . The worker aren’t American just like me .so one first cashier come and I asked him for shawarma pizza his English wasn’t advanced so couldn’t understand me I showed him the pictures so he called his partener that tried to helped me with it he showed a pictures of chicken shawarma with fries ,for me he is explaining me the similarities as I told him pizza but he was saying pitta my prononciation maybe bad . In my mind he said pizza as I thought his accent is affecting the prononciation But as I showed his partener I thought they caught my order . My point the business need a serious management. Worker doesn’t pay attention and are really not helpful. I hope the head of the business will take care of this as I wish the best for the company . Thanks

Full stop do not buy from this dishonest business. Another fake restaurant. Pretending to be something called Ma's Meatballs. There should be a law against this. That's their online presence because their product is so non-competitive they need to invent an alias It's also much slower than it should be. Stay away. Edit April 2025. On Uber Eats they're now going by "Brooklyn Calzones by Fresco Inc" and a calzone is $30. Does anyone realize how insane this is? This is absurd! People, let's not let them get away with this. The dishonesty is astounding. Edit still April 2025. They have changed their name yet again to Calzones SF. Same address. Photo enclosed. Somebody call the police. They are a fly by night business changing their name seemingly whenever they can't get over their negative reviews.

Avoid this place even if you are in a pinch. The food was bad and the experience with staff felt shady. We ordered the fish and chips ($12 each), gave a 15% tip and the total came $42. That struck us as unusually high (should have been closer to $30) so we looked closer at our bill. To our surprise, the receipt added up the total wrong. Even with the bs credit card fees, the total should have totaled only $35 but it added it up to $42. The cashier gave us $7 back but he didn't seem overly concerned about it. It felt shady and we immediately regretted being there. Unfortunately the food did not make up for the cost. The fish looked like frozen fish sticks you buy at the store and loaded with grease. The tarter sauce was ranch dressing. You can't tell me that some store bought fish sticks and a handful of French fries is worth $17 USD. The reviews that I've seen that are positive are about the pizza so maybe that's a safer bet. Also, apparently the food prices are cheaper if you use cash so don't waste your money on card fees here.

We were staying at a Hotel and we asked the front desk to recommend a pizza restaurant. They recommend Fresco pizza, so we ordered the pizza and the person who answered the phone was extremely rude and after repeating our order several times and asking for plates and napkins he just hung up the phone. After 1 1/2 hours the pizza finally arrived to our hotel without plates or napkins. The gentleman who delivered the pizza was nice and said we should have asked when we ordered the pizza and we said that we did ask. The pizza was hot, but I really wasn't impressed with the pizza either. Based on our experience I would look for another pizza restaurant instead of choosing this place. Thumbs down!

Frisco's was highly rated by Concierge at hotel. Ordered a "deep dish" pizza for delivery and was told 45 minutes. An hour and a half later had to call to check on status of the order was told 10 minutes... fifteen minutes later called back and asked again was told five minutes Pizza finally arrived... This place has no clue of what deep dish is... First, the pizza was pushed sideways in the box and part of it was folded on top of itself. Outer crust was very thick and i believe may have had some cheese in it... Not certain as to what kind of cheese. Inner part of the crust was very thin and taste was very mediocre compared to other pizza I have tried. My advice is if you are looking for a pizza in San Francisco.. skip this location...

Absolutely terrible food quality. The worst calamari rings I have ever tasted..it was old, smelly and snapped into 2 which should indicate how bad it was because calamari should never do that. Chicken caesar salad was also inedible - gyro chicken instead of actual chicken. And no caesar dressing to be found.

The French fries tasted horrible, it reminded me of being in high school eating those disgusting fries they would serve us for lunch. My fish was cold and tasted like it's been sitting out all day. The wing's were the only acceptable thing I ordered. And also what i don't get is i order from uber eat's and it pop's up as Wings wiz but it doesn't show on Google maps, it show's this place but from the pic's I viewed it is definitely the same place.

They said they would send the delivery person with a card reader. Which they did not. The delivery guy recommended we go to an ATM. He then called the restaurant but couldn't get anyone on the phone. We called and someone picked up right away. The guy tried to take our card over the phone but had trouble understanding the information. Someone (I guess from the restaurant) called the delivery person who then asked if they could take a picture of our credit card. We then told them to forget it and went back to our room and ordered from Dominos. I also turned off my credit card in case they did try to charge it. We also told the hotel to throw out their menus. The bottom of their menu says they take credit cards, too. I'm guessing they run this game regularly to avoid paying credit card fees.
