Opinions de New York Pizza Alameda
I had 6 pizzas delivered to a company event. Everyone loved the flavors. Will definitely use again. Cheese, meat lover, vegetarian, combo, pepperoni, and hawaiian.
One of the best places I have ordered from for take out. If you ask for extra thin, the pizza is delicious. Staff is friendly as well. Only good things to say about this place.
Pizza is decent, which is saying a lot for a joint on the west coast. The prices can't be beat. You get a 20" cheese pie for under 30$!!! And, the service is fantastic.
Best NY style pizza in Alameda. Service is amazing and nice people behind the counter. Highly recommend
Sadiq is absolutely awesome, he really went the extra mile and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was delicious!!
New York Pizza is very good pizza! I been coming to this place for 25 years and I still love it. This is a very special place and a great place to bring your family. Also very affordable.
Just dropped in by accident, because the burger place around the corner was closed. I got a well made pizza with fresh ingredients. Good old friendly service, too. Simply good.
Pizza's great. Their product is unique to the area. Reliable delivery and good on the phone.
I REALLY liked this pizza. They do a great job. No one else on Alameda does the New York style like this.
I can’t believe people are downvoted just because its “not authentic New York pizza”. Who cares. I was born and raised in NYC and it’s still great pizza. Fresh, hot, every ingredient well made. I will be back. Thank you guys for family-oriented service and food.
Yummy and affordable pizza. You really get family style vibes from the workers. All of them were super friendly and made the wait worth while. I’ve lived here a year and this was my first time visiting. You can’t beat $4/slice of pizza in this town. The salad is even less that $5! I’ll be back again :-).

This is our favorite pizza place in the East Bay! Love their thing crust, pizza sauce and generous toppings!
Best pizza in alameda crispy crunchy crust like a New York slice should be and wonderfully nice people running the shop.
Absolutely stellar pizza beautiful quality and great cost. Absolute hidden gem and Sadiq is the most kind guy while serving my pizza and i couldn’t ask anyone else to do it. Beautiful place and stunning mural that goes with the scenery
Having lived in NYC for several years, my first reaction was to about a restaurant called “New York Pizza”. How good could it be? So after 30+ years, I finally fried it for the first time. And I was pleasantly surprised. Pizza was very tasty and one of the better ones I’ve had. The ambiance and customer service is nothing to rave about, but it was adequate. But the pizzaiolos at New York Pizza know what they are doing.
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Great pizza, thin and fold-able, just like the New York Pizza I remember. I loved the clean atmosphere, this is a new location for this place. They front guy open since "1987" but I have never seen or been in this restaurant, in any different location here in Alameda. Great selection of beverages, including alcohol. I noticed they have the Adolph Coors short stubby bottle beers, the banquet beer. Very unique, and cool. The sauce has a delicious taste, and texture, great ingredients, and great crust. I can always tell a good pizza by how "delicious" it is the next day, and this pizza was awesome, the next day, when my family finished it. I thought pricing was very good, comparable to many other fancy pizza places. I also love the "by the slice" availability, another "staple of New York style pizza joints. I remember places like Blondie's here on the West Coast doing that, and many others, but nothing like a true Pizza joint offering slices. I will likely take them up on it, whenever I head over to the movies, or some other walking activity. I was by myself on this visit, but I can def. see my family returning there in the next 4 weeks or so. RECOMMENDED!!!
I saw the Google rating and felt I had to speak up. Last been 2 months ago. This is 5 Star slices, perhaps 5+ for the Bay Area which struggles with slice pizza. This is truly a slice house that won't admit it. If you get take out or delivery, it's just good / good+ pizza. Been going for 25+ years across both locations in Alameda. Get a slice. Grab a slice and have fun on Park.
Best pizza in Alameda...and I know pizza.... The crust is awesome... Tastes great by its self... Sauce is not runny or thick but a perfect balance. The veggies are fresh. The meat cuts are the way I like them, thin but quality products. this place is very good
Best pizza I've had in Alameda. It's cooked in a slate oven, proper style. Just right between thick and thin. Quality ingredients. Nice homey shop. Had less of a fast food feel to it than the location in SF.

The pizza is what you'd expect out a ny style shop that's not in new York. The dough is thin but not to thin and has the right amount of soft, crisp, and is a bit flimsy from the grease of the cheese. The sauce has the right amount of sweet as well. if you're looking for some wow type of pie with unique creations then this ain't the place. This place is solid and predicable and that's what I love about it.
The pizza it’s good it has a great taste. The dough it’s not to thick or to thin and it has a great taste. I like that they sale pizza slices it’s very convenient for people that don’t want a whole pizza or they just crave a slice.
The place need a bit of paint and some love. The pizza was awesome!!! We wanted left overs but we couldn't stop eating the veggie pizza. My grandson order a slice and took home 2 more.
Haven't eaten at this spot in a couple of decades back when they were in their original location down the street. Pizza is just as good as I remember it. Gotta commend them for being deliciously consistent after all these years.
Nice, friendly, clean atmosphere. Pizzas great. The family that owns and runs the place are nice guys who are always warm and friendly that give the place a certain old world family feel. They can be talkative and funny which makes the wait time go by fast. The delivery experience is good too- I've never had to wait long and the foods always hot!
Not the best pizza out there, but it's pretty good. Their garlic bread almost outshined the pizza pie itself, which isn't the best thing to say about a pizza joint. Anyway, I ordered the combination pizza. It was better with a side of ranch.
Good pizza cold beer an chill environment

The pizza can show up many different ways. I've ordered from door dash and directly from the store at this point. When it's done with light cheese/sauce and thin enough crust the pizza is fantastic. Other times the dough will be substantially thicker, more, sweeter sauce(guessing prep cooks each have their own way), more cheese, and undercooked. Still a solid pizza either way, but when done right it's out of the park for "cheap ny pizza"

Very high prices ,two slices a beer and juice$.. 26,73...serious,plus the manager had a sense of humor that wasn't funny...he had told me my date walked out but I was waiting for her to come out of the bathroom...way out of pocket not funny at all....almost punched the little bald guy in his earhole just to see if he found that just as amusing.....the cook was lost....when I said 2 slices he looked like I was speaking Samoan....the pizza was 8 out of 10...not bad....boring interior,,,,
Stopped in as I was next to it. Seems like a local school place to go as there were tons of middleschoolers inside. Pizza wasn't bad, I'm from Chicago so hard to make me happy with pizza but I'd buy it again. Owners were only employees, typical of smaller pizza joints. Customer service was decent
Ordered from here wanting a few days of food due to surgery recovery. Ordered BBQ wings along with other food. Other food just so-so, but then found BUFFALO wings. Called and they said they'd send the correct wings out, but owner called back: warned me to give full information on original order next time. Excuse me? You have the order for BBQ wings. "Yes, but address is not on original order." (So how did they deliver it the first time without my address?) Delivery guy drops off wing order and left with buffalo wings. I opened the new bag: more BUFFALO wings! Seriously? Called back and told NY Pizza I won't be ordering anything from there again..2 Stars? One for each of the delivery guys who were polite. ZERO for customer service and less for an owner chewing out a customer who didn't do anything wrong.
Sorry to say, but this was disappointing. Ordered through Doordash and after waiting more than an hour, the driver arrived and informed me that they forgot to cook a dish that we ordered and had to wait around for it. Okay, no biggie, as long as I got it, so be it.... Then when I opened the bag, the order was wrong. Alright, at this point, annoyance is setting in... Then, I bit into the (incorrect) pasta I received, only to discover its not even fully cooked. That annoyance just leveled up to Pissed. Seriously?! Must be amateur hour over at New York Pizza tonight. Additionally, to call this pizza "New York Style" is a bit of a stretch... Breadsticks were okay... But i have to give this one a Hard No. Sorry to say, but I've tasted better food at Olive Garden.

Rude and terrible customer service. We were turned away trying to order a slice of pizza! We had been wanting to go there all week but we're just too busy. So off day labor day weekend, no one wants to cook. It's Friday we thought of this place. Spent like 10 minutes driving around to find parking. Walk inside try to order a few slices and this rude cold woman totally lacking in customer service skills says we are out of slices. She then starts trying to sell us a small pizza! Excuse me? How are you out of slices on a Friday evening with a giant sign that says PIZZA BY THE SLICE???👁 It's even painted on their freaking door! So I call and ask do you have any pizza by the slice?? This guy says yes it will be ready in about 20 to 25 minutes. I tell him we just left and we're told you had no more slices. He starts explaining about whatever too late who cares now because we already drove off. Never says I'm sorry doesn't care about our time being wasted any inconvenience to us. Don't support this business because they don't care about the customer. Or maybe we just weren't the kind of customers that are worth the trouble for this business to care about. New York Pizza of Alameda: 👎👎👎👎👎👎 FYI: a smile still matters in customer service people. Wake up and get a clue.
I ordered a pizza at 7:30pm on a Sunday for delivery. Gave them my credit card to charge. By 9:30pm I did not receive my pizza. I checked the hours online. On Google it's 11am-9:45pm, on Yelp it's 11am-10pm. I called 3 times, no answer, just kept ringing with no answering machine. I then drove to the pizza place, got there by 9:45pm and no one there! Everyone was gone! The lights were off and the chairs up on the tables. By that time, all the restaurants in alameda would not take orders, which was embarrassing and frustrating. I called the next morning at 11am, no answer. 11:15am, no answer. I Finally got a hold of someone at 11:30am. They only offered me 50% off the next pizza! The manager told me he'll check to see if my card was charged and said he'd call me back in 5min. I Got a call back 15min later and he told me it wasn't charged. I'm really surprised there is a business in such a community oriented city that is this bad. Especially a business that has been around for as long as I can remember. Never again.
My order was being prepared at 19:22. It wasn't delivered until 20:39. This place is only up the road from me. Pizza was lukewarm and they sent BBQ wings instead of buffalo wings, which were awful. Terrible service and I definitely won't be ordering from here again.
Worst pizza and wings we’ve had in a while. Not sure why it’s called NY pizza, as the style was more like something you’d get at a smoky bowling alley. The pizza was cold and tasted like it had about a pound of salt on it. The boneless wings arrived bone-in and we’re swimming in a pool of grease (see photos). Disappointing and disgusting.
The man that took my order came from the back, got on the phone, rang up the cash register, then took my order. After he took my order, he proceeded to build my salad with his bare hands. No hand washing whatsoever. Touching my chopped up tomato with his bare hands grossed me out and I just left.
Really bad experience, very disappointed. I'm order just 3 slides no one take my order I'm Wait for 15 minutes and nobody care my order. But we'll obviously for 3 slides I'm not a real costumer for them
I don’t know what their pizza taste like but their customer service is horrible I asked how many minutes it would be until my order was ready and the guy yelled at me and hung up
Worst customer service ever. Asked for ground beef and olives and was given pepperoni and olives. Brought pizza back and they refused to correct their mistake and make what i ordered and just refunded my money. They weren't wearing masks either while preparing the pizza's. Go to mountain mikes way better quality and customer service and everyone there had a mask on. New york pizza owner is the rudest person ive dealt with. Overall 0 stars
Racist and unorganized. Becareful you may get accused of not paying for your 30$ pizza. Always make sure you get your receipt here. They didn't take my name down or give me a number since they had no customer besides me I thought nothing of it. Next time maybe ask for a receipt instead of accusing someone of stealing. I'm glad I asked for my receipt because since we are latin we get accused of stealing. Now I know to go to The Star of the Park.
People that run the place are terrible. I had finally found a place with decent pizza that was somewhat consistent. Found they were listed on grub hub, so I started using that since it's easier to pay with a card (it takes them ~6 tries to understand it over the phone) . One night I place an order and it takes excessively long. Finally shows up and it's burned to a crisp with the crust cut off all the way around. Reviewed on that order, and they now refuse to deliver to me.
This is not NY pizza so don’t get your hopes up. Crust was not cooked enough and too sweet. Not enough sauce, too much cheese. Gabriella’s near Lake Merritt is much more authentic to NY style. Bathroom was dirty for a restaurant. Staff were very tired and not friendly but they were polite. No atmosphere. Need music on to filter the loud sound of the soda machine. This place needs help. Potential is there. I won’t go back.
The people that were working there were really rude the pizza was yucky and way too salty to the point where I couldn't even finish one piece good luck

I placed an online order and when I went to pick up my order they forgot my mozzarella sticks. I waited about 10 mins and when I received my mozzarella sticks “fresh out the oil” 2 of them were still cold and the rest were barely warm. My pizza was also cold when I first got there and didn’t taste good. This was my first and last time coming here.
I called in and ordered a large cheese pizza w half pepperoni . He said the order would take 40mins and I was okay with that. The delivery driver seemed very incompetent on how to use the door at the apartment to be let inside. Very frustrating. Then I open the box and it’s only a cheese pizza with no pepperoni and I was charged $26. It’s very hard for them to comprehend English which made the whole experience unpleasant. Made it worse that the pizza didn’t even taste good.
Ordered my first pizza from NY Pizza on 2/20/25 and had it delivered. Ended up extremely disappointed because the entire pizza crust was burnt so bad it was Black. Called and spoke with employee and was offered a discount on a future pizza purchase. That doesn't work for me because I will NEVER eat a pizza at NY Pizza ever again. This has got to be the worst pizza I have ever eaten in my life! Beware
Came here for a slice of pizza and stood in front of the counter with two employees ignoring my friend and I for nearly 5 minutes. When one of them finally comes to the register, he seemed extremely annoyed to have to take our order? We ask if they have pizza by the slice and says no and acts like we just asked him the craziest question and assumed that would shoo us off but unfortunately we were hungry so we asked about the wings. In which he again seemed annoyed that we tried to put in an order that he didn’t even listen to what we were asking. We had to repeat “can we order buffalo wings” five times until his grumpy self understood. Got looked at like we just beamed in from another planet too for some reason. Hopefully they’re not racist and are like that with everyone lol. Once we received our wings they were the slimiest wings I’ve ever gotten in my life. My friend and I didn’t bother finishing them when we got home. Reading half of these reviews, some spanning from even 6 years ago, it seems like not much has changed concerning quality of product and service. Maybe ask yourselves why you bother running an establishment where you serve the public if you hate interacting with people? Will warn as many folks as possible about this sad little spot.
Walked in waited for them to acknowledge me but left because I was completely ignored.
