Opinions de Osha Thai Express Alameda
Beef boat noodles and Tom yum noodles are very very good. Noodle soups here seem to be the star — now one of our fave places in the east bay to get boat noodles specifically and we’ve tried almost all the Thai places in Oakland / Berkeley for this dish! Would recommend the soups and not other dishes probably— had tried their other staples (pad Thai, papaya salad, fried rice dishes) which all left much to be desired. Tbh we almost didn’t come back, but then we tried the soups and the beef boat noodles. Really flavorful broths and great presentation, definitely on the pricier side for size but delicious and worth a try if you’re craving these soups!
Always on point with my Drunken Noodles. Now they have a new addition steak or pork with salad.
Loveeeeee Osha, so happy they opened in Oakland. Flavors are authentic. I worked across the st from the Osha in SF and would have lunch there atleast twice a week. Havent had osha in 2 years since the office shutdown. Love all noodle soups! Boat noodle, tom yum noodle. They dont have khao soi here but that is delish as well. Ordered take out from here twice already since they’ve opened. Waiting to try their stirfry noodles on my next pick up order. Oh yeah egg rolls are good too!
The chicken satay was good and the pad Thai as well. Very tender and juicy meat. The plating was beautiful ❤️.
Delicious food, Pad Thai was delicious and the chicken noodle soup was healing

Great staff, reliable Thai takeout food, they get the job done. Portions are a bit large and rather sweet, but most people living in Oakland aren't really healthy people and crave the typical sugary greasy food when they order take-out. I dunno I just always got a good vibe from the people working here and it's a nice treat once in a while. It'd be cool if they could offer healthier, smaller portions that are more close to what you get in Thailand but it's really hard to offer authentic food to Americans.
So happy that this has opened! They have indoor and outdoor dining, as well as takeout. We ordered takeout in person and it only took 10 minutes. We tried the pad thai and fried pork plate. The pad thai was well flavored with chewy noodles and generous portions. The fried pork came with rice and a papaya salad. The papaya salad was our favorite - we got it spicy and it was limey, saucey, and had a really nice kick. The pork was well flavored, tender, and went well with the side sauce. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.
This place is fantastic. Incredibly fast and delicious food. I’ve tried like 5 different dishes now and the flavors are perfect. And every dish is ready in 5 minutes. I’ll admit this leads to some issues with over cooked meat as they have them cook a while before you order, but that’s to be expected with this speed.
We've ordered takeout through their website a couple of times, and it's been great! The staff are very friendly, the place is clean and chill, and the food is tasty! Definitely a new frequent spot for us.
Nice restaurant with friendly staff. The food was reasonably priced, and my takeout order was tasty. Parking was challenging, but Thai food this good is worth the inconvenience. The in-store seating area was nice, so I'll return with a plan to eat there. This place is in a trendy area with lots of friendly people around.
I’ve been on the hunt for great Thai food, especially Pad Thai, for quite some time. After trying a few spots in the area and feeling disappointed, I finally discovered an amazing Thai restaurant nearby. Just in time, too—I was starting to lose hope for my favorite cuisine! The portion sizes are generous, and the flavors are absolutely spot-on. Five stars all the way!
Outside of the cramped space, this is truly a gem in oakland. Ive had their fried chicken fried rice, Tom Yum Soup and their version of traditional wings Instantly you can appreciate the quality upon trying their food from the first bite as you will be left satisfied from the meal as all the items were delectable. Will return to have more of their soup
The hours on here were wrong and I didn't realize I walked in right after they closed. They didn't mention it, seated me, and I realized it after I was eating. I would've never done that, but that was super classy of them to still feed me. My red curry was perfect.

Really cute place to grab a quick bite to eat. The ambience is simple and clean. Shorter menu than more Thai restaurants, but that only means everything else on the menu is a banger.

The food and service was excellent. I got the Chicken and Prawn Pineapple Rice. Definitely delicious. My only pet peeve is that they left the shrimp tails on. Also, I don't recommend using the bathroom here. The one bathroom stall they had available was a mess and the other stall was under construction. This is a cute vibe! It's a good lunch spot.

$16 for the spicy string beans which were 90% rice. Unbelievable... 🙄 Not only that, the takeout containers they use are significantly smaller. To compare, I filled one from Osha and one from another restaurant with water and weighed them: (see photos) - Osha: 661 g - other: 819 g So, Osha's containers hold ~24% less food _and_ they filled it mostly with rice!

Damn hate to do it but this was such a disappointment. I ordered the basic spicy chicken rice with egg dish and this looks like it was microwaved. This joint cost like $17, and they didn’t even include the egg. I feel like I just got scammed.

The service at the counter was nonexistent, we were met with silence and blank stares. Food was absolutely pitiful - we ordered the spicy thai basil fried rice with an egg, and this is what we got. Avoid at all costs.
They delivered someone's else food to my door. There was no apt number and bo answer when I called. After reading the reviews, it's going in the trash.

I've had two experiences here, both times the store was full of delivery drivers waiting with me for about 20-30 mins until I was helped (I arrived when the receipt asked me to). The food is incredibly bland, they will not make your food spicy if you have a white sounding name. I would recommend just about any other Thai place around here, like Thai Taste, which is awesome.
I walked in this restaurant having no other options cuz I was looking for the Vietnamese restaurant that I found closed. The waitress I think an asian by ethnicity looked at me and said ‘ I'm sorry we busy, ran to the kitchen so scared cuz I was black. She thought I had come in to beg for food. Not every black person should be mistaken for a begger, homeless or needy and desperate .
