Best authentic Italian food around! The food is great, the service is amazing and to top it off the bathrooms are clean. The restaurant has a romantic/secluded feel in private booths.

Finally a no frills Italian restaurant like you can get on the east coast! The Caesar salad was amazing. The penne vodka was so filling with a heaping amount of pancetta. They also had olive oil & vinegar at the table. Also loved their private label wine. I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!

I walked into Tommaso's on a whim and I'm glad I did. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and seated with water. I was able to order immediately and received my food I what felt less than 10 minutes and WOW. I got the lasagna and it was delicious. The meat sauce packed a great flavor that was perfectly balanced with the rest of the dish. Everyone was polite. Will be a staple in my visits to SF.

Family-owned treasure of a restaurant in San Francisco. My fam wanted Italian food for the holidays and this is our go-to place. We ordered a half super deluxe/half sausage and mushroom pizza, veg plate, and two clam pastas. All were to die for + we ended up with tons to take home 😌 Parking may be tough but there are street/garage spots in the area.

Went to this place for a friend’s birthday celebration and it was amazing. We were a large party of 16-18 people and the owners were kind enough to accommodate such a large group (outdoor seating) as quickly as they could. We ordered a variety of vegetarian and meat dishes and all were amazing (check out the photos). Pesto dishes were super fresh so highly recommend ordering at least one pesto dish. Desserts were amazing too, Tiramisu was a hit in the group and we ended up ordered 7-9 tiramisus at the end (loved it so much).

Friendly greeter, low key on the quiet unobtrusive side server . Free to engorge ourselves in privacy. Better than Rome? We ordered in mind to have enough for breakfast at the hotel : Incredible pesto ravioli over freshly made beef squares, steamed clams w chopped garlic broth, the very best of NY Pizza yet add tastier, chewier mozzarella, paper then beef carpaccio with aged parmesan, fresh California vegetables marinated to perfection, house red drank intuitively — no reminder to mix in the beautiful experience.

As a professional tour guide, I highly recommend Tommaso’s to anyone. It is one of the best Italian restaurants in the city and having the oldest wood fired brick oven in California, it is one of the most important restaurants historically as well. I have been coming here for more than 20 years but they never disappointed me. Any food and wine here are excellent. I recommend you try their wonderful Spinach Pizza, perfectly cooked and chilled Asparagus, Lasagna (one of the best in the city) and Tiramisu. Their service is friendly and warm. I always feel like I am invited to dinner at an Italian family. Carmen, Agostino, Anna and everybody at the restaurant are very sweet people and that’s one of the reasons that you should not miss this restaurant. The other day, I tried their outside seating and it was very comfortable. Gary, Alan and I will come back to Tommaso’s again and again in the future.

I finally got to visit Tommaso’s, a restaurant that had been on my want to go list for a while, and it did not disappoint! Our group of four was seated right away, which was a great start to our evening. We ordered two pizzas and two pastas. The Super Deluxe pizza was a flavor explosion with its toppings of mushrooms, anchovies, peppers, green onions, ham, sausage, and black olives. Each bite was a delightful surprise. The Parma Prosciutto pizza, however, was mediocre. Unless you’re a prosciutto lover, I’d recommend skipping this one. For pasta, we had the Lasagna, which reminded us of home-cooked comfort food, and the Fettuccine with Prawns, which offered a harmonious blend of alfredo and marinara flavors!

Authentic Italian place and it’s rubes you vintage European vibes inside the restaurant. Food was good, we tried pesto ravioli and shrimp pasta with alfredo. Both of the dishes had right amount of spices, quantity of entree is adequate for one person. Bread was average, however with olive oil and vinegar it tasted better.

Ordered pasta for takeout. After I brought the food home, I noticed that the Parmesan that came with my order was moldy. Very obviously too, so it took some negligence for this to end up with my order. And I doubt this is the only moldy cup of Parmesan in the restaurant. I don’t know if they just don’t care about their takeout orders or if it extends to their dining room too, but sending out moldy food is unacceptable. If you have a takeout order, check your food for mold before you leave the restaurant.

We walked in, were seated and given water in a timely manner but thats the extent of the service. No menus. About 15 minutes into sitting we watched the female server seat the people who walked in after us, she got them water, sat down next to one of the people. Talked to them, got them wine, bread and took their order. My husband got up and went to find us menus. There was a man cleaning tables who saw him go get us menus whom even looked at me as well. I thought that would have triggered someone to come over but nope. After deciding what we were going to have for dinner, we sat for about 5 more minutes….no one ever came to the table. I could understand if it was busy but it looked like an average Sunday evening and clearly not too busy if the server could sit and spend so much time with the couple that it appeared she clearly knew. After a total of 20 minutes (and I know that’s accurate because I took a photo of outside before walking in to send to the friend that recommended we try this place). When we stood up and left the man that was previously cleaning the tables said “um oh, we just had multiple people come at the same time.” To which I told him was not the case and reiterated that we saw the female server with the other table. Dont go here if youd like to eat. So much for trying this restaurant for our anniversary trip to San Francisco. Stay away
