⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Los Barrios Mexican Cuisine – 4223 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78212 I had a fantastic lunch at Los Barrios today. The chicken tortilla soup absolutely blew me away — easily the best-tasting version of this soup I’ve ever had. Rich flavor, perfect seasoning, and incredibly comforting. My fajita tacos came out hot, tender, and full of flavor. You can tell they take pride in getting the basics right. On top of the great food, the service was excellent. Friendly, attentive, and quick without feeling rushed. Overall, a memorable meal and definitely a spot I’ll be returning to.
Fantastic dinner! Ruben took great care of us. Made us try different sauces. The Mole' is amazing! Mr. Barrios stopped by the table to chat.
A party of my sister Angie was a blast a very good food fun and enjoy the stay positive vibes...
As you can see by the pics, we couldn't wait to start eating! They have the best cheese enchiladas in town!! Go on Tuesdays and get the 2 cheese enchiladas for only $7.99! Awesome! Ask for the chimchurri sauce, great with the chips. Nice to see Diana, the owner, personally greeting the customers!
So homey, the staff was super friendly and fast. The food is delicious, the tortillas are great. Micheladas are wonderful. It makes you feel welcomed and the place itself is just eye catching.
This restaurant is amazing! The food was delicious : you need to try the puffy taco and the quesataco :D ! The staff was so kind and joyful. We love the owner, Diana. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity taking time and pictures with us. We recommand this family friendly restaurant 100%!!
As regular guests my son and I, sorry for never writing a review, we frequent this restaurant at least once a week, always ask for Henry, our awesome server, who already knows what we want. I would like to state, I am in love with the salsa (that comes with the chips), the rest of the food is delicious, keep up the great work and Happy New Year.
Just finished eating here. Amazing isn't the word, it falls short. It was a bit on the pricey side, but definitely worth it as a treat. Ordered kids meals for the kiddos, and when I say the fries that came with were the best I've ever had, I mean it. Hot, fluffy, crispy and just everything you want in a fry. Everything was out of this world. If ever a Tex-Mex deserved a Michelin star, this is it. Our server, Mac, never let my drink dip below half and everything came out so quickly. Friendly service ✔️ Best tortillas I've had in a very long time, they were like holding little clouds I could eat. Just the absolute softest around. Their spicy salsa was definitely made in a molcajete, old school. Be sure to ask for it, when your food arrives. I can't believe it's taken me this long to find this place. I can't wait to go back and try more things. Do yourself a favor, get on Blanco and try this spot. You will not be disappointed. Even my picky nine year old told me, "Dad, that place we are at was really really good" high praise coming from her. Thank you, Los Barrios, I will not forget that experience. Y'all definitely made my Sunday evening!
Los Barrios is a legendary local spot that absolutely lives up to the hype. The puffy tacos are a must (crispy, airy, and loaded), and the classics are dialed in—enchiladas verdes, carne guisada, and quesadillas with poblano, fajita, and shrimp were all spot-on. Salsa is fresh, portions are generous, and everything hit the table hot. Service was warm and efficient—even during the rush—and we never felt rushed. The space works for everyone: indoor dining, bar seating, booths, and a patio/terrace; easy to bring a crowd or keep it casual for two. Plenty of free parking and we had no wait on our visit. If you’re craving the real deal Tex-Mex (and beyond), this is the place.
Went to San Antonio looking for cheese enchiladas for a sick cousin. They prepared a nice plate of enchiladas for her. She ate all of the food off the plate, even scraped up the last of all remnants. She even asked me where I had purchased them. I am very grateful for the wonderful experience, the good food, the kindness of Mr. Trevino. Thank you
My husband and I have been going to Los Barrios since we moved to San Antonio. It is our favorite Tex Mex restaurant. The service is always prompt and friendly, and the food is delicious. I always order the cheese enchiladas, and I feel pretty confident they are the best in town! (By the way, they have a cheese enchilada special every Tuesday!) They also have a happy hour and delicious margaritas. I recommend the prickly pear! Not only is their food delicious, but the owners are often there, personally greeting customers and making sure everyone is having a great experience. There is a little shop in the front part of the store where you can buy handmade crafts. Sometimes, they have music, and sometimes, they have someone coming around to offer to take photos. It's also an excellent place for birthday parties or other celebrations. I highly recommend Los Barrios if you're looking for great Tex Mex in San Antonio! I cannot say enough good things about this place.
Took my sister in law for a late lunch early dinner on her birthday. I ordered the chicken verde enchilada lunch special, and I was not disappointed. They were not greedy with the chicken, and the Verde sauce was just the right amount. (Sorry, I forgot to take a picture) My husband had the chicken fajita plate, and it was season just right. Of course, we had to try their 4th of July's trio drinks and the prickly pear Margaritas. (Photo displayed. Don't judge, Lol!) They were so good we ordered a 2nd round. Of course we were celebrating a birthday! The place was clean and very welcoming. There's plenty of parking and prices were reasonable, I'd say for a party of four I spent about $100 so it was not bad. Although there was an issue when my charge posted to my bank account of an extra $20 for a tip a few days later, which I had given the waitress in cash, the manager Kevin was quick to correct this. I was told my receipt was mixed up while processing receipts. I was happy with the customer service and the prompt correction. I plan on going to this restaurant again. Enjoy!
Que Rico! This place is bomb. Delicious TexMex classics doing it old school with the orange colored corn tortillas for the enchiladas con chili gravy. Truly simple and spectacular joy to eat. Homemade and warm! chips with fresh salsa are addicting. Great bite of food every time. A little pricier than nearby options, but worth your weekend splurge. You deserve it!
We love Los Barrios on Blanco Rd. Staff is super friendly and welcome us each time we go. On Saturday and Sundays from 11:00-4:00pm they offer $5 Mimosas and Bloodmary’s. You’re able to enjoy breakfast or the Lunch menu at 11am. It’s prefect for groups who still want to eat breakfast. Los barrios has the best Tex-Mex Enchiladas! We prefer the beef but you have your choice of cheese, beef, or chicken topped with their famous traditional enchilada gravy and chile con carne. The fun thing Los barrios offers is a complementary photo of your group. Options to purchase additional photos. Also Big Thanks to our server Mac. Request his section because he checks on his tables frequently. Makes sure drinks are topped off and that you have plenty of chips and tortillas. Thank you for making our experience great!
Service is wonderful and food delicious Found it amusing reading the many reviews complaining about the chips not being free 🙄 they're 1.99 extra....1.99! If 1.99 is that much of a burden then maybe do yourself a favor and have dinner at home. We ordered a large guacamole and a large chile con queso so our chips were included but I'd have no problem paying for them. The salsa they give you is not too spicy but really flavorful. Our waiter was super attentive and made sure we were good from start to finish. Highly recommend 👌🏼

The food and service was great the puffy tacos were my favorite! And the margaritas were delicious! I would definitely go back again when we visit SanAntonio again
Great place. Usually great service but the server may have been having a bad day. Seemed to have an attitude like he didn't want to be there or served us.
I’m not from San Antonio, I’m from the RGV, so finding actual GOOD Mexican food that is not a Tex-Mex mess has been a struggle for me since moving to SA. Los Barrios is the only restaurant in SA that satisfies my expectations. The food is top tier compared to a lot of the places I’ve been to in this city. Los Barrios serves authentic Mexican food, the menu has great options and everything I’ve tried has been delicious! I’ve had the enchiladas verdes, carne guisada and quesadillas with poblano peppers, fajita and shrimp. I will keep returning to this restaurant and further exploring their menu.
I ate lunch here with the family it was definitely good compared to some other “Mexican” restaurants. The food was amazing! I rated 4 stars due to the service from the hostess. She sat us next to their storage room with the doors wide open so we had a nice view of some cleaning buckets and ladder and some other stuff that you don’t want to look at while you’re eating. The table she put together was dirty it still had food crumbs all over it. When the waiter came we asked for a new table. Anyways back to the food, the cabrito is a must try it’s super tender. My husband had the chicken red mole which he enjoyed. There isn’t many restaurants that can make a good red mole. I would definitely recommend this place.

Food was good. Plenty of seating and looks very clean. Very friendly staff. Also seems like a good place for kids. My young daughter loved the bean taco plate.

Inner West Side Tex-Mex restaurant with a good Mexican vibe and atmosphere. Ths hanging planters throughout the restaurant are a nice touch. The food is great, but small portions and overpriced when compared to other similar restaurants. The prices align more with Southtown, the Rim, or Downtown. I mean, $9 kids' meals and $28 fajitas for 1 plate are on the higher end, especially when the fajita plate was mostly onions and peppers. We ordered waters to drink and they tasted like an old hose or water pipe. Even the sodas had the flavor. The chips and salsa before the meal were really good, though the salsa was very mild. The Poblano enchiladas and puffy tacos were excellent. The rice and refried beans were average and went well with the main course. The tortillas also had a good flavor and texture. The service was lacking. We constantly had to flag down the server to refill empty cups, get napkins, and to take away dirty plates. The server seemed nice, but he barely spoke.

Not worth the money. The was not good and i'm not that picky. I ordered the special beef that tasted like beans.
First time there. Very disappointed and we will never return, the food was average at best. We were told the margaritas were $12.00 but we were charged $14.75 each I asked our waitress why and her response was " the price changes through out the day" even though when ask the price she said $12.00 There are many very good Mexican restaurants in San Antonio unfortunately this is not one of them.
The food was good and the service was okay. However after leaving the restaurant, we glanced at the receipt and noticed that our waitress, Dalisa charged us for two ice teas when we had water. That was an additional $6. When we contacted the restaurant to advise of the error, we were accused of lying. Okay so we just spent $50 on lunch plus a $10 tip and have been to the restaurant several times recently and this is how they treat their customers. Why would we spend this much money on the food and generous tip and then Lie about being served water? The money doesn’t matter, it’s the principle. Be careful if you eat here and pay close attention to your receipts. Viola Barrios would not be happy with this!
The place is ok, needs maintenance. The food and drink are awful. I ordered a sampler, most of it tasted pre-made or frozen heated on microwave. Guacamole actually tasted funny, not fresh at all. We also ordered tacos, same with the beef meat, really bad taste. Margaritas were bad, in every aspect. Even the beer was not cold. I don't recommend it.
