This place was really enjoyable. I have always heard about it, but this was my first visit. The atmosphere was really relaxing, and the food was amazing. I didnt catch the waitresses name, but she was really on point with service and was a pleasure to talk with
I absolutely LOVED IT. Everything hit the spot this particular night and it was my first visit. DELICIOUS !! They switch things out of the menu from time to time but there’s still great dishes to try…. Seafood egg rolls Fried lamp chops Steak and potatoes The fries were bangin’ Strawberry Apricot cornbread was delicious like a dessert. Drinks were tastyyyyy. Definitely going back!! Service was on point and there’s a seated bar if you want to walk in. Lovely date night or special occasion spot as well.
Went for Father's Day dinner a day early. Excellent experience. Got there 45 minutes before reservation but they accommodated us with no problem. Service was attentive and they had many drink and food specials including the star of the day which was the Lobster Alfredo. Recommended and we will definitely be back.
We all had a nice dining experience at Jackson House. My husband and myself were there with two other couples. We all enjoyed everything we ordered. My calamari was seasoned great just a little rubbery. But well seasoned.
The ambiance was great , good customer service , food tasted great , the bar 100%. The service given by Jaylin was out of this world . Over all experience I will score 10/10
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Totally Redeemed Itself! Gotta be honest — my first visit to Jackson House didn’t wow me. My meal just missed the mark. But I’m so glad I gave it another shot, because this time around? Wicked impressed. We kicked things off with drinks: the Espresso Martini was classic and flawless — smooth, bold, and just sweet enough. But the Mr. Biggs Margarita? Whoa. It’s their seasonal special and super herbal — like sipping a garden. I joked it felt healthy enough to count as a salad. But honestly? It totally worked. Bold, refreshing, and absolutely worth trying. Drinks? 5/5. Fresh off a routine doctor’s appointment, this was our kind of wellness follow-up: one cocktail that felt like vegetables, and the rest pure comfort. Next up: soup. And both were stellar. The Loaded Baked Potato Soup was creamy and dreamy with little bits of potato and bacon and just enough sour cream to tie it all together. The Potato Leek Soup was rich, velvety, and topped with these beautiful shaved potato crisps — the kind of detail that takes a simple dish to the next level. Soup? 5/5. For appetizers, we got adventurous. The boneless wings came with a wild blueberry Uncle Latest sauce — and that sauce was incredible. The wings themselves? Just fine. Same for the fried squash blossoms — interesting to try, but mine had a bit of raw batter and didn’t really pop. Still enjoyable, but not something I’d order again. Appetizers? 3/5. The vibe here is hip, cozy, and a little upscale. We were seated right away, and the service? Outstanding. Huge shoutout to our server Jaylyn — she was incredibly kind, attentive, and just a superb server all around. You could tell she genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. Final verdict? Jackson House has totally redeemed itself. From garden-fresh cocktails to soul-warming soups, this visit flipped the script. I went from skeptical to full-on fan in one meal — and I’ll absolutely be back. Don’t sleep on the seasonal specials… and if you see “Uncle Latest” on a sauce list, just go for it.
While I've only had lunch here and it's been good, they, by far, have the best espresso martini in town. Before I had to drive all the way to Wilmington for a good espresso martini, but Hazen & Hayle nail it (as long as they add Baileys).
My friend Ruben recommended this restaurant to me, and the server Ava was so great and personable. Cute place and great food!
A new addition to Middletown which is a delight. I had dinner with a co-worker and we will definitely be coming back to try many things on the menu. We had two drinks, which were strong, but really good flavor. Granted, the service had a bit of a wait, just to let people know, but that is expected as it is a little bit on the upscale part. It was also just the beginnings of a new establishment, so absolutely understandable. Going out to eat in this type of place takes time to enjoy and relish the moment. Onto the food. We both had appetizers, Korean corn dog that had a side of truffle infused sugar on the side to dip. Poke with wonton strips with cilantro. It was a nice and light start. I’m very impressed with the entree. I had the gnocchi with a shrimp and crab meat in a blush sauce. I have to admit, it was a bit sweet for my liking, but the flavor was so good, I can’t complain. I saved half of it for leftovers the next day, so delicious still. We also had beignets and apple funnel cake for dessert. In all, the service was polite and the food was tasty. Also, the chef came by to check on us, she is an absolute delight and did a phenomenal work with the food and its presentation. Definitely a must try and repeat visit.

We live here in Middletown and heard about this place through a friend, so my husband and I decided to give it a try—and we were pleasantly surprised! For a moment it didn’t even feel like we were in Delaware. The atmosphere was very aesthetically pleasing with an upscale vibe. The food was good, the drinks were great, and the bartender was super knowledgeable. I had a whiskey sour with egg whites and it was chef’s kiss.
This is a hidden gem in Middletown, DE. You didn't need reservations but they will ask. We did shareable items and the salmon nuggets are a must try. I would prefer the lamb chops to be grilled vs fried. There were also daily specials. Very clean bathroom.
I went here for dinner and ordered an old fashioned for my drink which tasted like it had a hint of cinnamon in it. It was good although I’m not a fan of cinnamon. For starters I ordered the popcorn chicken, coconut shrimp and cornbread. I really enjoyed the coconut shrimp and cornbread I just wish the portions were slightly bigger for the price. If the cornbread was served in a small skillet that would’ve been top notch because that alone is 5 stars. It’s disappointing the cornbread is done in 4 bites. I don’t recommend the popcorn chicken it taste like the frozen popcorn chicken bites at the grocery store. For the meal I ordered passion fruit salmon, with broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes and that meal was 5 stars by itself. The salmon portion is very small and I wish it was a slightly larger cut. I will definitely return and recommend this restaurant to my family and friends.
Server was sweet Food was okay. Mash was def box My steak was not what I requested but waiter def made it a tad better. Calmari was soggy Drinks not really worth the price, at least the two we got Overall if you're not a big foodie you'll love it
Great spot for date night, dinner with friends or solo date. The service was good, generous with the food portions. Check it out
This isn’t my first time being at this location under another restaurant name but this new restaurant “Jackson House” is really nice 😊 lamb chops were a little overcooked but tasty 😋 love the seafood roll. The salmon and lobster roll 🦞 were ok. Lobster roll had a sauce that overpowered the taste of the lobster. Some food quantity and price wasn’t too bad! Love the vibe and atmosphere ❤️

Jackson House is a whole vibe. A friend and I went for brunch and loved it. The service was just ok, but the atmosphere was perfect and the food was delicious! The drinks were great as well, although very overpriced. We will definitely be going back to Jackson House.
Ordered coconut shrimp with "pina collada sauce". This is what Red Lobster serves with their coconut shrimp so you expect to receive this same sauce. Unfortunately, it actually comes with a "sweet thai chili sauce" with added crushed pineapple, which is spicy, not creamy and luscious. Had we known it was a spicy sweet Thai chili sauce, we would've ordered something else. Please correct this on your menu. The shrimp were also way too browned...maybe oil was old or too hot. The french fries were one of the best we've ever had and served piping hot. We will return to try another dish.

This place was a nice find. Drinks were good and service was attentive. I ordered the bison steak, which was pricey but pretty good. My partner ordered the full rack of lamb which had a tasty sauce but they were small and kind of tough and chewy. The olives and the calamari were quite good. Would recommend and visit again.
My husband and I had dinner at this restaurant, and the atmosphere was nice and relaxing. It's a good idea to make a reservation. We loved the seafood egg rolls; they were so delicious! The coconut shrimp paired well with the French fries, but I wasn't a fan of the sauce that came with it. The lamb chops were okay, served with roasted veggies and grits, but we probably won't order them again. Overall, the service was good, and our waiter was friendly and helpful.
As this location only opened a little over a week ago, I am going to believe that's the reason for why I cannot give it 5 stars at this time. I made a reservation but I arrived about 30 minutes before to which I was promptly seated, however noticed that I didn't truly need a reservation for this Sunday's brunch. Maybe many people were traveling or decided to stay in, but considering this is still a new restaurant in the area I did expect it to be crowded. My main concern was that I was seated and it took about 10 minutes before anyone even greeted me. I noticed all the waitstaff and manager walking around me and initially was wondering if I was invisible, but I think maybe my coming in early the host didn't communicate to the waitresses therefore it was not clear who's table I was. I noticed a table that was sat after me was promptly greeted, maybe it was because it a 5 of them and only myself for brunch that led to that. Either way the young lady came over and didn't even apologize for the wait as she looked right at me when she and the other waitress were trying to figure it out then went to the host station before coming over to me. I say this because all aspects of service is very important especially for a new restaurant and management needs to communicate this. Oh and I did find it odd that I was asked what type of water I wanted by my escort to table, it really threw me off and perhaps that should take place as usually expected after seated. Also, I noticed my waitress poured another table's water into their glasses, but did not do the same for me. Consistency in service is a must! I decided go order less than I planned because while I gave grace for the wait the fact that there was no acknowledgment of it, that changed my desire to explore the menu. I ordered a Lavender Elixir cocktail which was very tasty, however it was missing the flower as indicated on menu and other reviews. I asked the waitress for their top sellers and she suggested the Chicken and Waffles and their breakfast plate which I went with the Chicken and Waffles with a side of scrambled eggs with American. The eggs were cooked very well however it is clear that they were liquid eggs and not 2 whole eggs as indicated on the menu; the latter being my preference. I did add some pepper and the eggs included chives (not indicated on menu so if have issue with that inform) but I was pleasantly pleased with the taste prior to adding the pepper. The waffle pieces were warm and along with the syrup they were delectable. The chicken was a chicken steak piece that was fried perfectly, however something was missing in the seasoning (thinking some pepper/cayenne) that made me have to add some hot sauce to it. I will give them a plus to my stars because nothing was overly salty! I gave the middle of the road rating because it was just so so to me. The ambience is fantastic, especially for Middletown, and I really enjoyed the musical entertainment during brunch. I'm not going to go out of my way to go again any time soon, but I would give them another try especially since dinner reviews seem to be highly rated.

lmon nuggets -could use more seasoning , pretty fishy 6/10 Lamb chops-cooked well , not extremely flavorful but I’d order again. 6/10 Seafood eggrolls -I’ve had better seafood eggrolls . This seems to be very shrimp forward. Sauce that comes with it seems to be a spicy mayo based sauces. Tastes like the sauce on the spicy chicken sandwich. Good for what it was probably wouldn’t get it again. 5/10 Crispy Brussels - Brussels was pretty good , definitely not crispy as described though lol 6/10 Garlic bread grilled cheese - normally don’t ever say too much cheese on a grilled cheese but this was a lot of cheese and rich so it was like a punch in the mouth lol maybe the buttered bread added to the richness a bit but it was a lot. 7/10 Spicy chicken sandwich - so good , whatever spicy sauce on here is good , tastes like a mayo based sauce. Comes with fries. Nothing special. Taste to be an avg frozen fry. Overall 8/10 Firecracker shrimp - great flavor , nice snap on the shrimp so not cooked too hard , not too much breading , not a crazy spice level, tasty , would def get again 9/10 Sweet potato cornbread - don’t know what I was expecting ….. but that the consistency was of a blueberry muffin or so. Again I don’t know what I was expecting but def expected more sweet potato flavor , instead it reminded me of a banana nut bread … 3/10 Would def go back and grab spicy chicken sandwich meal with a firecracker shrimp appetizer 👌🏾
Food was amazing beautiful inside even the playing. But first it took our waitress about 20 minutes to bring our drinks to the table after ordering but watched her bring drinks to a table that came AFTER us. My party ordered 3 servings is the seafood rolls only brung out 2 then after 10 minutes finally asked where the 3rd which she forgot to put in so had to wait longer. Didn’t come check on the table to see how the food was or for refills nothing. Then I asked for half a rack of lamb FRIED she brings them out regular….then she asked how many containers we needed we said 4 and she brings back less than that…she was just completely unattentive to the table
Went there Saturday. Our children took us out to celebrate our 34th Anniversary. Let me say a $450 meal was not what we experienced. Service was much to be desired. With a reservation took us over 20 minutes to get seated. The server who handed us our food decided to hand us our food from the opposite side of the table. Reaching over others. What server doesn't know the side of the table where the customer is sitting is the correct way to serve. The drinks were weak and expensive. Lastly, the expensive $55 rib eye steak was just bad. No rib eye needed to be do disrespected. I wish I ask if the chef would come out to look what they did to this beautiful piece of meat.I didn't want to spoil the beautiful experience of our children treating us so I did not want to make our our children feel uncomfortable. Until I found out the meal was $450. The horror. I still want to speak to the manager.
I used to love to recommend people to Jackson House when they were looking for suggestions in the area but I’ll no longer be doing that. Today makes the second time in a month that we arrived and were told an hour and a half to 2 hour wait while the restaurant was empty. We are typically regulars dining at least once a week but we’ll prioritize other restaurants going forward.
My two friends and I were really excited to try this new place. When we arrived, we asked for a table for three and were told there would be about a five-minute wait after the hostess checked the system. A few minutes later, she came back and told us the last available table had just been booked for a reservation, and that our wait time had suddenly changed to an hour. I’m not sure if this is their standard practice, but it felt unprofessional and disappointing. We were already waiting for the table we were told was available. If a reservation is made after walk-in guests arrive, it’s unclear why the walk-ins wouldn’t still be seated. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression, and we won’t be returning. I’ve never had this happen at another restaurant.
