Opinions de Pumpernickel Bagel & Delicatessan Albans
For someone who doesn’t like bagels and think there to much. For some reason today I decided to stop by pumpernickels and definitely was one of the best decisions. Walked in and was told they make all there bagels in house , and it showed. I got a everything bagel with turkey , egg and cheese and it was 10/10. Would highly recommend this place, there quick , fast and good.
I have been getting breakfast from them for just under 9 years now. Just about everyday Monday- Friday as I work in the area. Amazing quality food, bagels and cream cheese is so fresh!!! They go above and beyond splitting the muffin in 3 slices so it’s nicely toasted and butter on evenly! Absolutely love this place! **Sesame Bagel toasted with Cheddar cheese**
Stopped into Pumpernickel Bagel the other day as I was passing by and it definitely didn’t disappoint! The bagels were fresh and delicious! Also, the people were super friendly and very appreciative! Thanks guys!
Best breakfast place in the area. The staff is great and the service is quick. They do their best to keep their customers happy. Large menu to choose from. They open early in the morning 6am and Astrid's smile makes ur day!( she s usually at the cash register) u can also call in before amd place a take out order- just so u avoid the line. Thank you for ur service! ❤️
So got breakfast here it was really good hot and fresh and then I got a Philly cheese steak it was so good ! The staff is nice and very fast at making the food
Great prices and great service My Go-to before every morning on the job Hell, I even make my way here sometimes on my days off😂 Best spot in LIC in my opinion And little secret , banana nutter smoothie with a shot of espresso is the bomb 🔥 beats any morning coffee💥🤤
Loved the everything bagel i got with plain cream cheese— a perfect cap on my short first trip to New York.

Food is delicious, staff are nice and friendly. Very clean.
Love the bagels, the coffee, and the breakfast wraps!
Great food easy to order online and quick delivery.
The food was great and the cashier was amazing and helpful.
Fantastic bagel sandwiches. So good I often reorder a second one.!
The place is clean and the employees are super nice
During this aweful pandemic I have been visiting this place regularly and the people that work here cheer me up every morning!
Best bagels in LIC.
Goid bagels and food, tasty baked goids, reasonable prices
This is the cutest and friendliest deli😀 The coffee is always fresh and made just how you like it. They also have large variety of pastry, bagels and spreads.
Getting coffee and food here for over 2 years, keep coming back for delicious food. Getting lunches here as well. Thanks! Amalia is the best!
I'm here in the morning everyday for breakfast. I'm here for Lunch too. Eddie makes the best Chicken Philly with Swiss. # Delicious Allima is the best!
The portions are generous and the food very tasty. The service is always fast, attentive and nice. A very well run establishment and I highly recommend it.
Bagels are always fresh. All ingredients are fresh. The service is quick and pleasant. Best place to get breakfast in the area.
Great handmade bagels! The lady at the register knows my order and has my coffee ready when I walk in!
AMAZING BAGEL STORE FRIENDLY AND QUICK SERVICE GREAT TASTING FOOD THAT IS ALWAYS FRESH MADE RIGHT BEFORE YOUR EYES AND THE STAFF IS VERY ACCOMMODATING
Amazing experience great staff food taste good fresh I like their new smoothie and juice station.
Fast! Reasonably priced! Delicious. I love my bagel and lox!
Food is very good, delivery man is understandable. Can't really get over how it took them 30min to deliver considering my job is about 6 blocks away... But nobody is perfect right? I'm the first to rate this place, a nice round of applause for "El Gordo"
The food is great here, and that's the most important thing to me. I don't understand the 1-star reviews based on rudeness, etc. What kind of kindness/conversation are you looking for from your cashier? If you find yourself consumed by anger by curt service at a bagel shop in NYC, look inwards, don't vent with 1-star reviews.
This place is fabulous. The food is always good and tasty. Delivers are always on time. I can count on them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner because they never disappoint. My favorite are the Philly Cheesesteaks and the baconegg&cheese. (Spelled that way on purpose) When you know you know.
The owner is so friendly and all staff seems to have been working for him for sometime must be a great person to work for. The place is clean from top to bottom and the breakfast wraps are amazing. Will tell fellow alumni of Stony brook to go here a hidden gem near school.
New to the area for work project. This place is great and will be my new breakfast spot. Very clean, polite staff and food is great.
Amazing service! Fresh fruits, pastries and food. Really accommodates customers needs in every which way possible. Needed a last minute small catering service last week Thursday and they came through for the Bricklayers Scholarship contest. Thanks a million Pumpernickel Staff!!!
Breakfast sandwiches are delicious and so filling. Cashier not only handles the register but also makes a really good cup of both iced or hot coffee!!
Great sandwiches and bagel. My go to place. Get the pumpernickel with apple and turkey. You won’t regret. The owner is super nice. He makes your sandwich
Great prices and the food is always delicious. I am always running late to work so I order ahead and my food is ready to go when I walk in. The check out lady knows my name when I walk in and always is polite. She greets me and makes sure I am in and out since it is rush hour. The staff are so nice and attentive
I've been going here since they opened. They went through some growing pains with disrespectful cashier women but they now have their groove back. The lady who takes my order every morning is such a sweetheart! She can barely see over the counter but always has a huge smile and is always friendly! The owner can come off as a bit rude, but is actually far from it. You can tell he is under a lot of pressure and therefore is not a bubble of sunshine every morning, but they always remember a repeat customer. Can be a bit disorganized at times with all the construction workers due to the new buildings going up in the area, but the food is consistent and always good. Very quick turnaround also, I am never there more than 4 or 5 minutes even at its busiest! Love the fresh bagels, good selection and usually always stocked. Hard to find good fresh bagels in this area and this place delivers! Thanks to all who make my b-fast every weekday morning!
I work in the area and every morning I stop here for coffee and the occasional BEC or bagel with cream cheese and they never disappoint. The food and drinks are quick and easy to get at no expense to taste. The boss is super attentive to his customers, the lead cashier always has my order ready as soon as I come in, and the grill cook is fast, efficient, and always gets my order right. Couldn't ask for more.
The Indian lady was so friendly greeted my kids and family so sweet . Place was clean food was good highly recommend as a stop for a bite to eat.

We each got a bagel and cream cheese. The whole wheat bagel & tofu spread with veggies was good! The service was fast. It was around $6 for each. They didn’t have a whole wheat flagel, but we got there late morning 11am, so maybe they sold out…
We came to NYC for the 4th of July. The place was the closest and most convenient to where we parked and Thank goodness, it was delicious! My ultimate's lox bagel was brimming with smoked salmon and as you can see in the picture, that one bagel sandwich lasted me most of the day. The prices are the best in the city, although it's technically not in the city. We were in Long Island City which is just a quick train ride into Manhattan. Hope everybody had great 4th of July, I know we did!

Best sandwich in LIC the owner and the staff willing to help and satisfy all customers with a smile
Its fried chicken how can it not be good! Okay it is small looks little rundown but staff seem friendly. Go for some fries chicken with some mashed potatoes without the gravy. The taste of the mased potatoes is not hidden by the mash. Or if you prefer have the fries.
Zabar's is a delicatessen institution not only on the Upper West Side, but in all of New York. Their best items are their fresh coffees (at a very affordable price), freshly baked … read more
Great food. Love the smoothies, but always busy. They stopped offering delivery to our location.
I've been going here since they open. Food is good. They make a good cup of coffee.
Great staple lunch option in LIC. I love their unique paninis, created by the proud hands of one of the ladies who works there. Unique and quite good. They also have great quesadillas or custom mixed salads. Pop in too for their massive cupcakes (nicely done - if you're lucky, they'll even have their PB&J one!)
Amazing, giant, full bodied bagels with a fresh taste and great prices to boot! A busy location, being near professional and government buildings as well as steps from the train, locals and commuters surely know what's up! I challenge you to try their bagels and decide not to return (it wont happen), love the vegetable vegan tofu cream cheese here.
I go there every morning for their oatmeal. They have 2 options, with milk and without. They have a variety of toppings available as well. Sometimes I go back for lunch to get a soup. Large soup/oatmeal are about $4.90 each.
Atmosphere needs a little getting used to, for tourists. However, the Sandwiches were freshly made to order and very good, just like the fruit cups which were already ready to take but tastet nonetheless fresh. Only negative: a lot of plastic waste, since you'll get a plastic plate even if you eat inside.
Pumpernickel Bagel and Deli in LIC is a solid choice for a classic deli experience. They offer a variety of bagels and other deli staples, making it a convenient spot to grab breakfast or lunch on-the-go.
So I get my first sandwich at the Pump, eat a couple bites, and actually double take at it. Why does it taste so good? The ingredients are not magical, and neither is the combination. And yet, wow. It's almost off-putting how they make a breakfast wrap taste so much yummier than the next guy's. This place is clearly designed to service the Citibank building lunchers, which is good, because it means they're fast and consistent. But it's bad, because it means they're only open Mon-Fri for breakfast and lunch. And if a neighbor wants a turkey sandwich for dinner or a whole wheat everything bagel on a Saturday morning, tough cookies for her. Prices are just OK. Service is good, nice, quick. My affection is large.
Great place. Good people working there behind the counter. I live few blocks away even there's so many places having the same menu but I can depend on this place when it comes to Quality.
The bagels and breakfast sandwiches are really good. I didn't appreciate that the lady cashier was rude (like incredibly rude). I especially didn't appreciate that she just snatched my credit card from my hand after I took it out to pay. Like chill lady, I understand how tapping the card on the card reader works. This isn't my first rodeo.
These bagels are hot and crispy. They're not Mammoth size which I appreciate. The portions are large. In terms of the cream cheese spreads. The staff is friendly and they move along quickly. The price is a very reasonable. Believe or not. We got a birthday cake from there. Also, their sandwiches are very well priced and large portions all around. This is a very good place to go right across from Cuny law school. I'm hoping with the new target that opened up it will get a larger fan base
Calling all Vegan's, they have multiple dairy free smear (cream cheese) options and it tastes good. I only took away a star because my coffee cup was too hot to hold in my hand. Had to use napkins. I never understand why places do this to their customers. At worst at least double cup.

Picked up some tuna salad and scallion cream cheese here to check it out and it was okay but nothing special in a bagel city. The tuna salad container was not filled up all the way which was disappointing since it was pretty pricey, $16 for two small tubs, but they were both still delicious. Overall, an average spot so feel free to stop by if you’re in the area but not a must see.

Not only are they expensive i had a chicken taco salad the chicken was not fresh at all it was hard and the cashier was very rude .
Bagels were small, the cook is great, the guy taking the orders….not so much.
You'd expect the bagels to be fresh and tasty but this place doesn't deliver the goods. The prices are good and the staff is friendly. Fast service, short lines, and a lot of options. Better to get anything but the bagels, maybe I just got unlucky.
The bagels are fresh and the cream cheese is good however there is a very unpleasant man that works there in the morning. He is rude and has an attitude when you ask him a question. He seemed racist like he didn't want to serve me because I'm black. Sad! Sad! Sad!
Bagels do not taste particularly fresh, skimpy with toppings/dressings/meat, and poor customer service. I've tried them a few times to see if it would improve since it is close to my apartment but I'm giving up on them.
Second review , the food is good for the price , but honestly the cashiers attitude is on a different level , I come in here often to know the vibes which is i sayy my order concisely and make sure you check your food before you consume it . After telling the cashier that she got my coffee order mix up with another customers , she looks at both me and the other customer and did this swapping motion with her hand . I said I sip his drink already , can you please make me the item that I wanted and paid for. Of course met with an attitude from her , next time I’m making a way bigger scene . This cashier will cause you guys to have uncessary friction with loyal customers . Put her in the back in the kitchen so she do t gottah speak to people until she learns how to
Bagels are standard on the softer fluffier side rather than chewy. So is the cream cheese (seems like they only use whipped cream cheese). However it was good and the coffee was standard as well. Service was good besides the cashier. The cashier from today was bitter and quite rude. As other reviews have mentioned but other employees were pleasant.

Buyer beware - the counter lady will press ok on the pin pad to complete the transaction for you
Incredible poor and racist ppl who do not want to serve minorities whatsoever. I went in last week and bought a salad and before heading out, I saw chips at a different counter and bought them. The white middle age lady at the cash register rung me up and then after handing me my change, started walking away w/out bagging my chips. When I asked her to, she said with an attitude that why couldn't I put it in the bag with the salad. The nerve! Today I went to buy a salad and as a student, I should get a discount. The lady immediately rung me up and when I asked her to apply my discount, she would stating that I needed to let her know right away. I told her that I wanted bread and was asking her for that but she already rung me up and that I would like her to apply my discount. Upon insisting, she called over the same lady from last week who said that I needed to INSTANTLY let them know about my discount and that I will not get a discount with such an attitude bc she would have to undo the charge. I explained the situation but she could care less bc I was not white. Plain and simple. I told her to keep the salad and she told, no problem happily in a condescending way. What, she won't have to unring the register now? Tsk Tsk racism!!!!! Needless to say, I will be telling my colleagues and they will NOT be getting any business from CUNY.
Called on the phone trying to order, was confused on why my order was so expensive so I decided to ask why. Hang up on me immediately. Very rude person on the phone, seemed like the owner.
Very very very bad customer service, 2 days in a row I did not receive my complete order, and when I called them the guy one the phone has bad attitude ( Extremely rude), but if he call me to replace something that not available in my order he is nice :), he has 2 faces . I have been ordering from the since the pandemic, not anymore. Stay away from them. Avoid this place please.
I was told they would deliver in half an hour because they were out of pumpernickel bagels. In half an hour. I told them I was leaving for airport in 1 hour. They showed up 40 minutes late. I was already on my way to airport.
Went in for breakfast and walked right out. I greeted the staff and waited a few minutes for them to take my order. They ignored me and kept on with what they were doing. Extremely rude.
If your a African-American person of color I would not eat here if I was you nasty service was told my money is no good anyways, use to try & stop here to get a bagel & coffee before work but would always get nasty service every time I stepped foot in there the vibes was just always off, & the owner made it very clear he ain’t like me or the color of my skin.
Each woman behind the counter ringing you up is as nasty as the one prior. Learn to treat your customers a little nicer. It goes a long way.
Not a nice place to start your morning. The lady and the guy who takes the order are so rude. Very poor customer service. Please avoid.
$ 9.20 for a grilled chicken sandwich (hero) Very lightly heated meat with lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise. Not pleased with the price and food quality.
Very expensive and not worth it I order a sandwich they didn’t making the way I wanted the turkey bacon tasted really bad on top of that they are not friendly they rude
After couple months there food and customer service it's down, some times it's fresh other day you have leftover, only bagels good to eat any thing else be careful,
When the service is this rude, it doesn't matter how good it is. After coming here a few times, I wouldn't want to waste anymore time and money here. Do yourself a favor and go any where else.
2 days straight this "bagel store" doesn't have sliced lox. Sorry to break it to you, but if you don't have sliced lox, you aren't a bagel store in NYC.
When I first started working in this area I always got breakfast from here. The breakfast is a lil over priced. Then I realized the cashier was over charging and also giving me back wrong change. And she can be rude the majority of the time. All together I just stopped going there.
Delicious flagels and wraps, but disgusting customer service. I complained about soggy fries and a mistake I made in my order. I was hung up on 3 times in a row and yelled at over the phone. No one in the office will ever be ordering again.
DISRESPECTFUL STAFF!!!!! I usually go to this bagel shop every single morning and they know my exact order. I am a very loyal customer and have been getting bagels from here despite the rude behavior from the cashier woman. She is somehow extremely rude to women, however, flirts with the male customers. She charged me double for a bagel because she rang up the wrong item herself. She charged me the difference but scammed me. She is rude every single time I purchase anything from there but this is the last straw. Pumpernickel just lost a loyal customer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pumpernickel has VERY bad service. In take out, they gave me the wrong food. And the the salad lettuce was SO brown. This is a very bad experience and I hope none buys things from pumpernickel anymore.
Don’t get their Philly sandwiches combo. Tasteless, old fries with bland, sandwiches. There goes my $15, down the drain.
Didn't like the check out lady she is really grumpy 🙄 across the way is a much nicer spot called Bonjour they even have avacado over there. This place Didn't. My bread was over buttered and too soggy. 😪 the other items inside was too salty 🧂 and just tossed the whole thing. Didn't like the coffee here either 😕 even. Do the salmon on rye with capers and raw red onions and you'll be better off there though 😋 🤔 so there was that that i did like and got 2 times there.
Overpriced, trashy food. This is not the new LIC. Dingy places like this are horrible.
First and last time coming here. The staff hurl unnecessary, snarky, and hurtful comments at guests; the Reuben sandwich was unappetizing; My order second was missing core ingredients; and the short woman at the register could use a basic course in courtesy. This is not an establishment deserving of longevity.
Great service from the cashier, great food but unfortunately the owner or manager will bring the business down, the way he talks to the staff and some customer is disgusting. I work in the are and every morning I go there for breakfast and I MUST SAY he always has an attitude and some personal issues that are brought out at work.
Ordered online the night before for a 6:30am delivery. At 6:50 I called and he as rude saying it is coming and hung up on me. I had to leave for airport at 7:15. It never arrived snd now I've called 7 times and they don't answer the phone. I'll dispute the charges with my bank. Don't use them for delivery.
Was running a quick errand and a coworker asked for a plain bagel with cream cheese and a decaf coffee. I go in...fairly late in the day (about 415pm), they didnt have any plain avail which is understandable. I tell the gentleman for better use of words that I will be right back (Did not have his phone number). I zip over to my coworkers area to inform him of what was available...poppy, cinnamon raisin, everything, etc...head back to the store (literally less than 5 minutes!) and now the door is locked and they are "Closed". The "gentleman" gestures a cut throat and shakes his head. Terrible customer service! You would think, even assume...if they are about to close and someone, a regular customer...states they will be right back they would have informed me of such. Shame on them...and shame on me for being a patron of this establishment. Thumbs down!
Indian cashier or whatever she is from is very rude and doesn’t say have a great day or good morning nothing very rude. The men that work there are very nice and quick with the sandwiches.
My staff and I we order all the time from this place. The guy is super rude when something comes wrong I guess he can’t take responsibility for the mistakes. A a real man owns up to his mistakes. Bagel toasted means bagel burned! Bad customer service all around. Sadly this place is still up and running.
I wish this place was good. The bagels are basically Thomas' bagels and the lady who "works" at the register is absolutely terrible, awful energy, even when she looks up from her phone. She should be fired. Do yourself a favor and take the walk to Bricktown bagels.
This is a shady establishment with very opaque pricing. I ordered the same items—a beef sausage & egg burger and a medium iced coffee—multiple times, and each time the price was different, sometimes $11.22, other times $10.34. When I asked them why, they were extremely rude. Overall, this is a dishonest business that takes advantage of consumers. Please do not support such a business
Dont buy any drinks they shut the fridge off at night so the drinks get hot. I definitely dont recommend drinks from here. i got taken twice drinks are barely cold
I was there this morning for a bagel. The 2 gentlemen helped me very kindly and politely however… I’m disappointed to say that I will never go back to that place again because of the lady at the register. She was extremely rude for no reason. I wonder if she is a racist or have some issues or something to act the way she did for no apparent reason. This kind of person shouldn’t be in the food business. Good luck to the owner. She will shut you down soon
Stopped in on my way to work for the first time, but it was lacking on all fronts. Cashier was rude and unpleasant, bagel with B/E/C was just OK. I suggest going to Cranberry a few blocks away for better bagels, options, prices, and friendlier service.
I like this place for a quick bagel. Today I was feeling for pancakes so I got me an order of those with some bacon and scramble eggs. I honestly should have opened and try this pancakes at location. Those pancakes were rock hard. I mean what batter was used, cement?? Horrible pancakes, hard and a very oily flavor. There goes my $13.00 pancakes straight to the garbage. Do not buy pancakes or you’ll be taking an unpleasant experience.
No, no. Just no. Nah. I hate leaving bad reviews, but honestly the food was trash, the staff were really standoffish and the coffee was liquid misery. Please don't waste your time and money at this place.

Do not buy pancakes or you’ll be taking an unpleasant experience.
