Everything in this restaurant seems perfect : the way they treat to customers, greetings, response from all those staffs, specially that mild music from KUTUMBA: Nepali Band. All these things makes a perfect blend to enjoy your food. The best thing to try in this restaurant is chicken chowmin and the signature dish of Nepali : MO:MO (beside daal, bhat, tarkari). This is a small suggestion from MO:MO lover, if it was less oily and more juicy, then it would be chummesori..
We just tried the chili momos for the first time. The are very good: crispy, saucey, spicy, quite different from the more dumpling-like (but also very good) steamed momos. Pretty much everything we have tried on the menu has been excellent, both with meat and veggie. A go-to spot for us alone or with visitors.
Friendly service and the food was great; the naan was exceptional! I recommend the mango lassi- it was superb!
I read the reviews online and decided to try the food. I was looking for a good place for momos. Some of the other places I had been to were quite a disappointment. I know what authentic momos taste like after visiting Darjeeling in India. I was greeted by a server who was very friendly and welcoming. The other staff too were very nice. I ordered a serving of steamed momos. As I waited I was served a bowl of dal (lentil soup) which was complimentary. It was delicious. Very mild and flavorful. The momos came on splatter with the dipping sauce and 8 pieces of momos. One bite into the succulent momos and it hit the spot. So delicious, amazing flavor, just the right amount of spice. This was what I was looking for. The portion was generous and the prices are pretty reasonable. There are so many amazing items to pick from but this gives me a reason to keep coming back. I recommend this place for authentic Nepali food.
Staff is great and the interior looks incredible after the remodel, especially the new full bar. Great spot for a dinner with family or an easy week night away from cooking. My wife and I love the momo’s but I most enjoy their old fashion with a refreshing seasoning to pair with the cuisine. On draft beer selection is exceptionally bomb
The food is phenomenal here! We went for lunch and had a special (huge portion) and the chicken momo's. The momo's were large, filling, and damn delicious. The only downfall was that the service was slow. It was also very cold inside the restaurant. A very filling lunch was under $40, a steal in this day and age. Overall, an excellent place I can't wait to go back to.
We keep coming back, the best mezcal cocktails in town! Great food and service!!
The Everest Kitchen is my kids' favorite local restaurant by far! We've been going there off and on over the past 4 years, and we LOVE the Momo's the Chicken Korma, and the Lentil Soup! 5 Stars for Sure!!! Enjoy it! Thank you Everest Kitchen!!!
Excellent momos! (No photos, because we are them all :) Serving staff was friendly and not intrusive. Curries were also delicious. Highly recommend!
Good 👍 good food. I really like it. Good service
Possibly one of the best Nepalese restaurants around. The food was not very oily, and it was just the right amount of spices and herbs. If you're a glutton for spicy Indian food just let the waiter know. They gave us a complimentary round of lentil soup(daal) which again adheres to all the things I've mentioned before.
Shared two delicious items with a friend: pan fried lamb and chicken curry. Each item came with rice and lentil soup and was pretty satisfying. I cannot comment on whether the flavors were authentic but I liked them both. Very friendly service was quick and efficient. Restaurant was delightfully easy to have a conversation in on a Sunday evening. 👍🏼
This is really good nepali restaurant near this place. You can try many nepali taste whis also comes under budget. They really have good customers service and they have some awesome fresh food. I really felt like home and I highly recommend you to be in this place with your friends and family.
First time trying this type of cuisine, was not disappointed. Service was great, nice atmosphere. I ordered the creamy chicken tikka masala, garlic naan. Great portions, had to save some for later. Recommend giving it a try.
We stumbled upon Everest kitchen while were were looking for some Indian food after a hike. I was hoping for the regular Indian/Nepalese restaurant experience but my opinion started to shift as soon as I entered the restaurant. Everest is not a run of the mill Indian restaurant. It's very classy and elegant. The decor, the music and the whole vibe. All the servers were very polite and welcoming. We ordered Pani puri, nimki chat, veggie koftas and naans. The food was very delicious. I remember taking a bite out of the naan and it took me back to the dhabas in India. Veggie koftas were super delicious too. Staff was gracious enough to give us complimentary daal. The simplicity of that daal made it so homely and flavorful.
We were a group of 3. We ordered 3 appetizers and soup. They were all very good tasting, but the portions were very small. Each of us got no more than a spoon of each plate. The service was great. These servers were like bees and they were all very nice. We arrived during the happy hour. The items on the happy hour menu were more expensive than the regular menu! When we asked, they said the bread comes with a dip, which makes the bread the same price as the happy hour menu. Usually the happy hour menu is 50% lower than the regular menu… just saying. The plates were nice quality plates, but guys curry must come in a bowl. It came in a flat bed plate, which reflects how small their portions are in every way. You can visually count the number of chicken break pieces on the plate😅. So, don’t even try to share! If you go hungry, one dish won’t be enough for you.. I should say that every single dish was amazingly good. I enjoyed eating those variations. Would I go again? YES. I would go and order at least two fishes each or
Everest Kitchen on Solano is a true Albany–Berkeley gem! The momos are perfection — tender, flavorful, and authentic. The lamb chops and Chicken Sekuwa are grilled to smoky, spiced bliss, while the Goat Curry is pure tradition for the purist. Kids (and adults) will love the flavorful Chowmein. The cocktails are just as impressive — with Nepali-inspired flavors like cardamom, clove, and even mango lassi making each drink stand out. Definitely an elevated culinary experience for my edacious cravings. Warm service, cozy vibe, and food that keeps you coming back. Don’t forget to savor the chai.
Wow! What a pleasant surprise! My friend and I came in here for a very early dinner and had the place to ourselves. We weren't sure what to expect but wow. Did everything turn out? Phenomenal. We even ended up there during happy hour so took advantage of that and ordered three happy hour appetizers The tandoori chicken sekwa was so very tender and perfectly seasoned! Whatever you do, don't skip out on Pani Puri! I live in Santa Cruz and would drive back just for that.
Ver nice experience, the service was very good and clean indoor/ outdoor setting. The food was delicious as well, very good momo. Also loved the tea!
Takeout review during COVID. I hadn't normally been to this restaurant despite living nearby but wanted to give it a try today and decided to add it to our regular takeout rotation because it was so easy to order and pick up and the food was great. Big thumbs up to the experience. The person who took my order on the phone was super friendly and helpful with the menu (I am only semi familiar with Nepalese food). Then the pickup experience was lovely, with another friendly staffer giving us updates on when the food would be ready. (They even have a supply of disposable gloves to put on before using their signing pen.) And the food was wonderful. My favorite was the Chicken Momos, which were juicy and delicious, with or without the Jhol sauce. The Cheese Naan was cheesy but not greasy. The Garlic Naan was also good but a bit too much garlic for me, though my dinner mates liked the Garlic Naan more than the Cheese Naan. The Saag Paneer so green and fresh! The Chicken Tikka Masala was tender and flavorful, though I prefer the sauce at Cafe Raj nearby. Surprisingly the Brown Rice was a highlight as well -- such delicate, thin, long grains. Great texture.
One of the best Indian food I have had in South Bay Area. Highly recommend this place! Great service and hospitality. Malai kofta and Channa curry was incredible! Samosa chat was definitely the best. Definitely enjoyed this place as it felt like home food!
I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and I finally got to visit here. The momo dumplings are delicious! The garlic Naan bread was so good as well. Definitely will be returning for the mango Lassi drink for sure. Great serive and the parking is not bad at all. I got lucky that day. I look forward to try more dishes! Thank you so much Everest Kitchen for your amazing food!!
Food was amazing, the customer service was out of this world good and location is super cute!!! I got the mint lemonade and I wish they sold it by the gallon, it was SO GOOD!
This place never disappoints. Love their chicken jol Momo, keeps bringing me back here. Curries appetizers all are fire. Impressed with their updated interior, menu and they have full bar with great cocktails. Improved a lot on customer service. I think I won’t be wrong to say to this place is on the best in Albany.
Update: Visited here again after 8 months, now they offer dine-in. Buff momo still the best. Review before 8 months: Oh I loved the Buff Momo with jhol achar. Reminded me of the momos in Nepal. This is the only place I got to find Buff momo in the US till date. Will update if I find any other.
Their momo is the best in the area. It was my first time trying the chili momo and I absolutely loved it! The korma was also super creamy and delicious!
Had a nice experience at this authentic Nepalanese restaurant. They were very friendly clean and fast. I recommend this awesome place. They even let me have no cashews in my meal yay

This restaurant has an enjoyable atmosphere, good food, and excellent service. Great Solano Ave. location with an outdoor park let in addition to indoor seating.
I've been meaning to try this spot for a while since it always smells amazing. I finally had the chance and my eyes only regret is that I waited so long. The food was stellar and I had some of the best Naan I've ever tasted and the service was equally as excellent. This place is definitely going in my regular rotation of places to dine at from now on.
Good vegetarian options. Everything in the Thali was great and a relatively good value. And in the other dish they made a mistake on the number of momos and made up for it with something extra - presumably representative of the way they treat everything. Highly recommended!

We had lamb thali lunch, chicken jhol momos, chicken chowmein and lassi. Chicken jhol momos and chowmein were really nice but thali lunch was a waste. The dal seemed microwaved, the pickle was old, there was no curry, and basically it was not a nepali thali. And the chowmein that we paid around 18 bucks, was just 5-6 spoons. For the price level, the portions were very little. Other than that, the ambience was nice, clean and the staffs were attentive and nice too.
I think this spot is a better fit for non-vegetarians than vegetarians. My husband really enjoyed his Chicken Momo and Chicken Tikka Masala, while my Veg Chowmein and Veg Korma were just okay. That said, the garlic naan was tasty and the overall food quality was solid.
Very fresh and tasty Nepalese food. Excellent service. Good vegetarian options. Be mindful if you order spicy food, it will be spicy. Very reasonable prices. You will have to find parking somewhere in the side streets.
Well I used Google maps to get there and there was traffic. I wish it could do a detour but it didn't. Finally when I got to the restaurant there was a parking spot almost in front of the place. There is plenty if parking throughout the street but only like 8 spots in front of the restaurant. The place looks very wheelchair friendly. I went on mothers day and it was nice and roomy. Plenty of space if you want to have a big party. We got appetizers and they were delicious and we didn't have to wait long. I got their teas and some of us got the mango drink which was great as well. I ordered the spicy chicken dumpling and it was amazingly delicious. The dish wasn't too spicy but perfect. If you don't like Chile sauces much, this place has ahsa very good amount of spice. I would definitely want to try more things from the menu if I come back.the restroom was pretty decent but there were no paper towels or dry machine so I had wet hands. I think they need to keep better stock especially on a busy day like mothers day. Overall experience was great and I definitely want to go back for more if possible.
Overall good experience but food let us down a bit. Momos we’re a bit mushy and seemed like they were frozen. The curries, lentils, chickpea curries, garlic naan were all solid picks but nothing exceptional. Friendly and attentive service. Large indoor and outdoor dining space. Lots of Indian and Nepalese options around the area so it’s hard for this place to stand out.
It's a nice authentic Nepali restaurant. Food and server both were good 👌. The price was right as per the potion. They offered us complimentary lentil soup and if you like spicy ask for their spicy sauce.
Food: (5/10) okay. Momo had a bit more masala (spice) in it, tandoori was okay too, saag paneer and garlic naan was good. Staff: (10/10) too friendly, accommodating, helpful. Ambience: (6/10) clean place, well organized, not so fancy or romantic, limited window view seats, open outdoor setting. Restroom: (5/10) only 1 (unisex) but clean. Bad point: thali unavailable, diaper changing station unavailable, limited restroom, Parking spot is very hard to find. We were there on Friday at 3 pm. Parking : (2/10) Free street parking too busy. Few handicap street parking around the restaurant.

Lovely staff and good service, but food made me sick- the meat tasted old and after a few pieces my body said 'enough.' The appetizers were good (free lentil soup, good milk tea). I wanted to like this place.
