Ordered for delivery. Jhol Momo was great!
It was fine for my needs. Excellent place, highly recommend.
Loved the Mimi’s here and the keema noodles
Tried Mystic Momo for the first time last night and it was unbelievably good- tried the mushroom jhol momo and chives kothey momo. Delicious, so excited to have this in Albany
Everything we tried was absolutely incredible! Perfectly balanced flavors, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection !!!
Taste of momos and noodles are too good .
Finally we have a good momo place in Albany. Hands down the Chilly Momos and chicken steamed momos are the best!
I don’t say this lightly: some of the best food in the Capital Region.
Delicious food. Service on point. Great experience. Do try matka yoghurt.
Just WOW. If you are Nepali and missing Nepali taste please visit this place it’s amazing Nepali swad cha mitho mithoooooo.
Loved the restaurant as mentioned by their local newspaper as well. All foods were authentic and the owner was helpful.
Got steamed and chili momos and chicken keema thapka -- every was insanely delicious
Some of the best dumplings I've ever had, especially with the spicy soup like sauce
Ordered from here on Saturday night and my friend who is very familiar with Nepalese food said it was some of the best she's ever eaten. I had the chicken momo and they were absolutely delicious.
I recently tried their momos, and it was an amazing experience. Probably the tastiest momo I have ever had—perfectly steamed, juicy filling, and just the right amount of spices. The dipping sauce was more than a WOW! I will definitely visit next time with my friends.
Went there with 3 other friends. Ordered the entire momo menu together. Mixture of pork only and chicken only. This is a good place to get your dumpling fix, for sure. Limited seating. Staff were super friendly. I'd recommend it.
Very flavorful ❤️ Ordered c momo and jhol momo. Definitely becoming a regular here
Did door dash so can’t rate at mosphere but dumplings and noodles and onion rings were solid. Timely. Delicious. Beautiful. Spicy.
Wow! First time trying momos and so impressed by this place. I had the jhol (beef) and C (chicken) Momo. Fast, affordable and absolutely delicious. I appreciate restaurants that know what they do and just knock it out of the park. Great dumplings. A new staple for me. I hope it will become a staple for others as well. It’s deserves it. Great French fries too.
Very good, easy walk from Washington Park if you're the kind of person stressed about parking
Good food good atmosphere. Centrally located. Easy parking (street)
So glad that Albany has an authentic momo place now! I tried their steamed pork momo and my friend tried the steamed chives momo, we loved them! The spicy chutney that came with it was delicious. The people were very courteous. I am definitely going back soon again. Just an earnest request to the owners to not compromise on the originality of the taste in the long run.
Hi My lovey person out there ……Come and enjoy Nepali foods You love it
Just discovered a slice of Nepal in the Capital District with the unique flavors of momo, chow mein, and the renowned Bhaktapurian curd. This one and only Nepali restaurant offers a culinary journey with its authentic dishes that are a testament to Nepal's rich gastronomic culture. The different varieties of MOMO- 1. Steamed, 2. Fried. 3. Jhol, 4. Kothe and 5. Chilly (Popular as C Momo), cooked to perfection, and the stir-fried Chowmein (Noodles) provide a delightful contrast of textures, while the creamy Bhaktapurian (Most famous in Nepal) curd is a creamy treat finale to an exquisite dining experience. They have choices of Veg, Egg, Chicken, Pork or Beef. Its located centrally near the downtown Albany, 1 block away from the most beautiful Washington Park, where you can safely and conveniently park your vehicle and take a short stroll to the Restaurant. You can easily find parking along the surrounding city streets too. It's a must-visit for those looking to explore the tastes of Nepal in Albany, New York.
Great food and an incredible atmosphere. Momos were some of the most delicious I have ever had, tasted very authentic, and the service was top-notch. Recommend to anyone looking to have good food and amazing experience.
Delicious! Lots of different kinds of momo, all super yummy. I got takeout, but will try eating in next time to have it hot.
I love Mystic Momo! We tried all types of momo, and their appetizers are delicious too. I wouldn't pass this place up! Definitely give it a try.
Loved this place! Staff were friendly and accommodating to an order change. We had Jhol Momos and Fried Momos and was all super delicious and quite spicy! It's a nice airy space. Great value too.
This place has a nice interior with some religious items. The outside view is nice to. The people who work here are nice, hard working and pretty quick with the fact there under staff. The food was 10/10 as well. Nothing to hate about in my book.
Best momo in Albany. I like jhol momo. Highly recommended.
Amazing momo! Got the jhol and c momo (both chicken). Very flavorful. The service is also amazing! Glad there's finally a Nepali restaurant in the area.
We discovered a hidden gem in Albany while traveling to Bennington, Vermont. The food was truly authentic, and the restaurant had a warm, cozy vibe. The staff welcomed us with such kindness that it felt like we were at home.
ate lunch at Mystic Momo on a rainy Saturday. Everything was very good! My companion had fried chicken Momo. It was not spicy at all & both the Momo and the dipping sauce had a nice taste. I had the chicken C Momo, Chilly Momo. It came in a thick spicy tomato based sauce with sauteed onions & green bell peppers, topped with some raw sprouts & fresh herbs. SO GOOD! Spicy enough to make my nose run but not painfully spicy. I only ate 4 of the 8 Momo I ordered & they reheated wonderfully the next day. We also tried the Mango Lassi (a cold yogurt based drink) and the Chiya ( a warm tea with milk, sugar, cardamon & ginger). Both were delicious. Next time I am going to try the Tofu Chilly. The restaurant is tiny but clean & charming.
Came home, took a bite, HAD to come give a review! Not only was the customer service extremely friendly but the food is SO GOOD! I got a chicken filled kothey momo and a mango lassie. The mango lassie was so refreshing and smooth and the momo was so juicy on the inside and had a perfectly crispy bottom layer! Go give them a try!!
Dine in option is great with good views. In appetizers I had sweet potato fries its super tasty crispy I totally fell in love with this item also I had Pan fried kothey momos with chicken filling even my frnd sai akka often comes to have this momos she is addicted They served with two sauces one was spicy and great for Indian taste buds my brother totally liked it. Its a great place for people who wanna give a try.
We ordered takeout from Mystic Momo including 4 different dishes to share, and everything was soo flavorful and satisfying. It was so nice to find somewhere in Albany that serves something a little bit different and delicious. This will be one of our new go-to restaurants for takeout!
The food here is amazing — the Jhol Momo, the kheema noodles, and the fennel mouth freshener. Come support this small business.
every food is authentic and of great taste. This place is a hidden gem in upstate New York. Friendly staff and warm hospitality. ❤️
I love the name of this restaurant it makes me want to say it over and over. MYSTIC MOMOS!!!!! I have been wanting to visit this place for over a year. When I first saw the sign, I didn't know what a momo was. It's a Napali dumpling. Usually filled with either chicken, beef, pork or veggies. You can have them steamed, fried or served in soup. I tried the Keema Jhol momo. The momos were made with minced beef and served in Jhol which is a lightly sliced soup. It was very excellent and filling. My meal went well with the Mango Lassi drink as the Jhol was a bit spicy. It is a very small place. Not alot of seating, and it was full when I got there. Which is a good sign. The service was excellent and the waitress was attentive. There are many other items on the menu besides momos. The momos are not just mystic but magical. It is worth another visit.
Clean, friendly service, welcoming atmosphere. Food took a bit to come out, but it’s hot and prepared fresh so that’s not an issue. The chowmein noodles could use a bit more flavor, the mono’s themselves are fantastic. Deeply flavored with sauces, spice (but not too spicy), with fresh veggies. Highly recommend, give this place a try!
What a flavor bomb this food is!! We stopped for a quick bite for lunch and got the sampler, which included 4 steamed momos (a Nepalese dumpling) , 4 fried momos, and lo mein. We had fried pork and steamed chive momos. Everything was absolutely delicious and packed with flavor, and freshly made. The pork momos were crispy and generously filled. The chive momos were tender and yummy. The lo mein had great flavor as well, and loved the two spicy sauces on the side. Everything was a bit spicy but we love spicy food! We can’t wait to go back!
Thrilled to see a place like this in Albany! Tried many different items and their tea, and they were all excellent. The jhol momo was my personal favorite.
Do not miss this spot! Get a Chiya (basically a cup of chai) and the street food sampler platter. My husband and I split it and it was the perfect amount of food for both of us. The staff is so friendly and it feels very authentic.
Small business with a quaint atmosphere. Large parties not recommended, the largest table seats 4. We went around 7pm on a weekend and it wasn’t busy. The food is fantastic. I am amazed. We had the pan fried momo, C Momo, and Keema Johl momo. All were delicious and juicy. The flavors were so potent. We also had the chicken chowmein which was super fragrant and flavorful. The food left us feeling full, but not heavy and uncomfortable. The food was not greasy at all. Will 100% be coming here again to try the rest of the menu. Give this place a try you will not be disappointed!
Great dumplings, aromatic and flavorful. They may look simple, but they are loaded with spices and herbs! A far cry from the bland dumplings you get many places. Highly recommend the Kheema Jhol Momo which adds a lovely mild minced meat soup (essentially a curry chili). The mango lassi was excellent as well. Not the cheapest, but fairly priced for the portions, quality, and freshness.
I'm obsessed with this place. So happy to have a place with authentic Nepali flavors. Try the "chilly tofu," it's so good (and spicy), just like the c. momos, but the sauce soaks in. All the momos are so, so good. I love coming here, the staff are so nice, the vibes are relaxed, and the food is a hidden gem! 💎
My husband and I came across this place and gave it a try. We found the tea to be wonderful, the dumplings were fresh and flavorful and we overall enjoyed our meal very much and were happy to support this local business!
The best momo I’ve ever had in my entire life! 😋 I’m honestly so sad to be moving out of Albany because I’m going to miss this amazing taste so much. Mystic Momo’s chicken kothey momo is my absolute favorite ...... perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. If you’re in Albany, you have to try it — trust me, it’s unforgettable! ❤️
The food was absolutely delicious. They have simple menu yet soo many varieties to try. We are gonna be regulars here. This is my new comfort food place. We had their C momo , Jhol momo and their chowmein. It was flavorful and lite. The momos were really fresh.
Food was fantastic!! Run don't walk here for wonderful dumplings. We started with two appetizers chips(french fries) chilli and chilli tofu both where delicious and not very spicy but loaded with flavor think somwhere between sechuan and indian spice profile. I kinda splurged and got four different kinds of momo. Steamed, Jhul, Kothey and Chilli. I will break them down. The steamed are very well balanced steamed dumplings served with a tomato based chutney. The jhul are the same dumplings served in a penut based soup which was subtle and complex in its flavor. The kothey are essentially steamed then pan fried served with the same tomato based chutney. And the chilli are deep fried served with the same house made chilli sauce as the apps. I will be visiting again because my experience was great. There are so many different combinations of filling and sauces. They have vegetarian options that look just as delicious as the non veg options. And if you go i recommend finishing the meal with milk tea, just think chai with a slightly different flavour profile.
Our first experience with Nepalese food. We certainly weren’t disappointed. Amazing combo momo platter and chicken thukpa.
Great place must try. Best momo keema noodles. Highly recommend!
Get a chance to Stopped at Mystic MoMo to get our quick lunch and luckily we found that they have some veggie options in Momo, we had vegetable Chow mein, paneer( Vegetarian)jhol momo, paneer (Vegetarian) Chilli momo. The Chow mein was really good, not too spicy also the momos were filled with flavorful fillings with a good balance of spices, and the dipping sauce (MoMo chutney) was also really good.Highly recommend.👍
The momo and tea were very good. The waitress was very nice.
What a unique experience to have Nepalese style dumplings here at Mystic Momo. This is a huge popular street snack back home in India, and think it’s great it finally reached Albany to have this here. The fried momos had a great crunch as they were fried just right. The pork momos were tender, juicy and succulent. Kothey momos are steamed, but fried at the bottom. The beef momos were still juicy and explosive with flavors. The showstopper? The chili chicken momos. They had a nice kick, the onions and peppers added great texture, and you get to experience a little bit of the sweet and spicy. I also recommend doing a combo so you can try their chow mein. It’s different than Chinese chow mein but I absolutely loved it. Give this new hidden gem a shot!
Small place. Delicious Nepalese dumplings. I got mine with this peanut sauce. It had a gentle heat. You can up size if you're hungry. 2 public lots close by.
We loved everything we had. Specially the chowmein. The momos we had were great too. Our favorite was jhol momo, probably because it was a cold day and the warmth and spice in the soup was a great combo. Must try the milk tea! The staff was just really sweet. Will be back for sure.
Mystic Momo opened in July, becoming the capital region's first Nepalese restaurant, and I was so excited to try it out! As a huge momo lover, I was thrilled to see their incredible variety of dumplings--from momos in soup to chili momos (my personal favorite) and even chow mein. Mystic Momo's menu offers so much, and everything we tried was phenomenal , including their mango lassi and chai. We had the Johl Momo, Kheema Momo, C Momo, Fried Momo, and their chow mein. My favorite was definitely the C Momo--sweet, spicy, and tangy, just incredible. The Johl Momo and Kheema Momo were also insanely good, offering unique and delicious flavors. I still need to try their classic steamed momos to compare them to the ones I've had in India. The restaurant also has 6-7 tables and is well maintained, clean, and great service. Overall, as a momo lover, I'm thrilled this place is not only delicious but also super affordable! I was telling my partner that we need to try to visit at least once a month hehe
Holy schmowzow this place is good. My credentials are that I'm Singaporean and love to eat Chinese and Southeast Asian flavors. They absolutely nailed the dumplings (thin skin and tender meat - both pork and beef are very nice and you can ask to do a 1/2 mix of each) and their milk tea is similar to a masala chai, warm and clearly homemade and very well spiced with rich flavour. If it is your first time, would recommend the the Kothey momo (pan fried crispy) as well as Keema Jhol momo (peppery meat broth with green onion). Very nice family, clean establishment, and love that they play Nepali music and TV in the background.
What a gem! If you live in Albany, have a hankering for authentic Nepalese food, and don't feel like driving to the next closest options in Cooperstown or Poughkeepsie, you're in luck because Mystic Momo will satisfy your craving! Situated in a small but spotless and brightly lit space opposite Townsend Park, this chef-owned spot has limited kitchen space, but still manages to turn out delicious momos (dumplings) and noodle dishes that equals, if not exceeds, the food in other Nepalese restaurants we have tried. As other reviewers note, it may take a while for your food to arrive after you order: but that's because each dish is made fresh...prepared, assembled & cooked on the spot. We had steamed pork momos, chili chicken momos, and vegetable lo mein that were literally perfect. If you don't have a hankering for Nepalese food, after trying Mystic Momo you almost certainly will be subjected to such cravings in the future.

This place was delicious!! The dumplings were so tasty. The spicy momo has a nice rich spice with as much umami as heat. The tomato based broth momo was also super flavorful. And the chiya tea was delightful on a cold day. I can't wait to try more of the menu!
Tastiest Momo's in the Capital Region! What a perfect meal. The Nepalese hospitality, the freshness of the food, the flavors, the city of Albany... all made for a 10/10 experience. I want to eat the entire menu. Anthony Bourdain would have LOVED this place.

I ordered combo set ( chicken chowmein, fried and steamed chicken momos) and Mango lassi. I liked the food. Momo chutney was too good
Compared to other small ethnic restaurants in the vicinity, Mystic Momo is clean, well lit and inviting. Service was good and helpful. Everything our group had was somewhat spicy, so beware if that's not your thing.
We are big fans of the Momo. East Asian dumpling with South Asian taste. These momos are handmade to order -- so don't expect grab & go. Well worth the wait. Tasty. Served on proper plates, --way better than the cardboard used by many other places. Nice array of flavors. You'll need a mango lassi or clay pot yogurt to dampen the mouth heat. The view down Central Av is a plus.
Mystic Momo was good! I enjoyed the chance to try momos for the first time and the server was helpful making our choices. It did take a while for the food to arrive but as we left we noticed them making all the momos fresh to order by hand, so the wait was worth it. Worth a try if you love or want to try Nepali food.
Honest review here: we had this for the first time as takeout and it was: 1. Very greasy. Not a fan of greasy foods due to post-meal mucus. 2. Dumplings were not in great shape by the time we made it home. May be better in store. 3. Chow mein was actually really good 4. Fries were mid at best 5. Thukpa has a strange after taste that tingles the tongue- might be an Asian peppercorn but def wasn’t ready for that.
Momo Jhol was amazing but we ordered a steamed 12 piece momo for takeout and the dough was undercooked and was paired with a spoiled sesame sauce.
I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and had super high expectations from the reviews and pictures. The food was definitely visually appealing. These are 2 of the dishes we tried. I’ve never had Nepalean food before so I can’t speak on its authenticity. We ordered some of the mono’s fried. I did not enjoy them fried. They seemed over fried to me. I thought they would be pan fried, not deep fried. I felt like all the dishes had the same distinct flavor. Perhaps that is a seasoning they used in their cuisine. I found myself wanting a different flavor to break things up but it all just tasted the same to me. Please don’t let my opinion sway you though and go try for yourself. The place was clean and staff were nice. Food looked beautiful. It’s just not for me. I prefer Shanghai dumplings.

The tea was great, the mango lassi was good, but the momos were very underwhelming. Edit for the owner: The beef didn't seem that fresh, one of the momo dishes (the one with tomato sauce) had a hint of mold and the sauce was nutty, but in a bad way, like slightly rancid peanuts. The tomato sauce tasted slightly slimy, as if it was cooked with okra, but there was no okra in the sauce. We can only guess what caused the sliminess. The chicken momos were underwhelming, as the broth lacked any flavor. None of the momos had tasty, juicy meat. I felt ill after the beef momos and had to throw up as I was having acid reflux from the food. This very rarely happens to me, so the food must've been off at the very least. I felt a harpoon-like sensation that only worsened after taking medication.
THIS IS THE WORST MOMO I’VE EVER TESTED EVERY TYPE OF MOMO THEY HAVE IS SO TRASH. THEY DONT EVEN GIVE YOU FREE WATER YOU HVE TO BUY IT. I FEEL BAD FOR ALL OF YOU THAT THINKS THIS IS THE BEST MOMO😆 I SUGGEST YOU JUST GET A MC DONALD THATS WAYY BETTER
This is not a HALAL spot. They do not have halal certification. They are using the Halal logo, they sell pork along with the chicken and beef. The contamination must be 100%. They do not use separate utensils either. So please be aware!!! Food might be good but we didn't get to try it because it absolutely was not halal.
