The food is so good. The wait isn't long and there are nice seating areas outside. I highly recommend
I love this place, I go here multiple times a week for their terriyaki chicken. However, at this point with 3 locations they need rewards point and a clear calorie chart checker. Love the food though! And the employees are the best. :)
This place saved me! I had a job interview up the street, and hadn't been able to eat lunch beforehand because I couldn't find parking at the place I was originally going to go. I desperately looked for a good, healthy meal I could have in the 20 minutes before it started. I found this place, and ordered salmon tacos. They were in my hand in like two minutes. They were perfectly cooked and crispy. They had nice veggies and were healthy. This meal gave me the strength to nail a long, difficult interview that I was right on time for. Thanks!
Very fast and the food is excellent. I had the fiery Buldak. Short rib and Double unagi triangles. Everything tastes great I highly recommend this place.
Great food, friendly staff, & quick service. Small location so when its busy it'll get crowded, might have to wait for a table if you want to sit down & eat
Yummy triangles we have been buying since they have opened. Very filling well made kimchi is my favorite. Before there were tables there are still some. Now there is more space no clutter couple of bar stools in the corners wto sit while you are wait but it is not taking long at all. You eneter on your left there are monitors place your order. There is a hand sanitizer. There are couple of tables outside and benches on the bike path.
First time trying Oori Rice Triangles! Why did I wait so long to try? I love onigiri aka rice triangles, but I wasn't aware of their vegan choices until today! Although onigiri is traditionally Japanese, Oori made their California Bay Area spin on these rice triangles! I tried ume (pickled plums), teriyaki tofu and spicy tofu. Ume and spicy tofu were a tie! I love them a bit more than the teriyaki one. It was a perfect light meal with some grilled edamame. So impressed! 💖💖💖 I will be going back!
Love the simple concept of protein filled rice triangles. We tried salmon, ribs, spicy pork, and spicy tofu. Our favorites were the pork and salmon. The spicy level was not hot at all but flavorful. Looking forward to try more menu items.
I’ve been ordering from Oori on Doordash for like five years or something and never came into the restaurant itself until today. It’s small but I waited tops like 7min for my food to be ready. Their quality is always consistent and delicious. I sat outside and it was a super nice vibe, enjoyed my meal and would have taken a pic of the food but I remembered too late and it was all gone 😂 keep it up yall.
This place is what I would consider a hole in the wall due to its tiny size BUT it packs a HUGE punch in food quality and taste. Staff is friendly, service is quick and the food is amazing. I'd highly recommend the chicken teriyaki, spicy pork, and their salmon. Try them all in a triangle or simply over rice ( I prefer their brown rice) because you will not regret it. Edit: it's been about 3 years since I've been to oori and it is still super good. Only thing that has changed is you order food through a kiosk not at the counter. Either way service is quick and taste is amazing
Delicious rice triangles and plates. The plates (at least when served to go) have huge portions that easily provide several meals worth of food. Great flavors all around, especially the teriyaki chicken, salmon, and spicy pork. Can't wait to go back and get more!
It’s my favorite spot to hit on the way back home from work. Their chicken teriyaki is great not too sweet and a little tangy. Perfect spot if you want something small to eat that will fill you up. The price is right too. Yosemite I think his name is? One of the workers is always in a good mood and very patient when I don’t know what to eat. Be sure to ask him if you are wondering what to get. His suggestions are top notch. The owner is also very friendly and obviously cares about his restaurant. Best spot on Solano if you ask me
I didn't get the concept at first but I am now an acolyte of the rice triangle, quick way to snatch some protein and carbs and flavor, they keep well, are so quickly, and are pretty healthy . Nice staff, convenient location, call your order in ahead of time if you want skip the line. Excellent short rib plate!
Wow! Easy to miss the place. I solidly recommend the spicy shrimp onigiri. I also recommend the teriyaki chicken rice plate. Its a very large portion for the price. Food is made fairly quickly, and the togo food packaging is good. I didn't feel like my food was going to spill or leak all over the place.
Been coming here for years! Can never go wrong with a couple rice triangles. So filling and perfectly fits in your hand for a good snack on the go! The price is also very reasonable. I usually get the short rib but lately I’ve been into the spicy buldak chicken & the spicy shrimp! Anything you try here is sure to be a hit!
My order came up within five minutes. The presentation is beautiful and the flavors are absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place for a quick lunch. Yum!
Ordered the spicy pork tacos, spicy ahi tuna, unagi, spare ribs rice triangles, and miso soup. When you order three rice triangles they give some edamame beans as an added bonus. The portions were perfect. Didn't feel overly stuffed when leaving. The spicy levels were just right, and there was no need to wait. Staff was super friendly and helpful towards first time visitors.
Delicious, clean, friendly. Shoutout to the staff working the closing shift on 4/4/23 for serving me minutes before close! I was sweaty and hungry after the gym and they hooked a playa’ up! Never disappointed when you eat here! Anytime of the day the quality is always top notch!
Lots of options. Low-key ambiance. Fast service. Yum! Got a salmon taco (center in the pic) - a new menu item for limited time. Nice fusion food.
Delicious onigiri with a variety of fillings, from land and sea, similar to the Onigilly chain in San Francisco. I tried the crab and unagi, which were tasty and certainly worth the price.
Ordered a three-triangle set. Spicy pork triangle tasted really good! $3-4 per triangle, worth trying!
I love Oori. Basically, they are onigiri or musubi; steamed short grain rice formed into patties *in this case triangles), topped with a protein or seasoned filling, and wrapped in nori (seaweed, much like a sushi roll). I love Oori because they are made to order; the nori is still crisp around the edges, very warm to hot, and seasoned well. Two could fill you up nicely with a little side salad or a small cup of shelled edamame. My 5 year old daughter has been enjoying their salmon for as long as they've been in business, and I love the shortrib and chicken teriyaki equally so we typically get the 3 triangles deal where you get a free side of edamame. What a great value, kids absolutely love it, and I'm happy they opened one closer to us in Rockridge on College Ave.

As a celiac I really appreciate that most of the menu is gluten free. I have never gotten sick from cross contamination here. You also get a really good portion of protein for the price. It is very simple food but it is delicious
Really liked this place! I ate here a while ago and I'm impressed by how good it is. It is a bit overpriced, but it is worth it! As a first time orderer with my plus one, we struggled a bit in the beginning ordering but then we got the hang of it! I'm definitely planning to come back someday!
Overall good food, nice staff, and good experience. Food is cheap and filling. The chicken teriyaki triangles are great. I like they have self service tablets to order your food. My only down part of this review is when it's busy, it gets crowded in there only because it's such a small place. But otherwise it's great!
It's a take out spot so atmosphere is hard to judge- it was efficient.
They pack generous portions for all options, and their grilled edamame is fantastic, given for free with plates and 3 triangle orders. I started ordering from them during their opening week, and I have never been let down. Not once. I have tried every type of meat, plates, small plates, and triangles. Everything is superb. There is no real seating, a couple of tables outside, but their whole menu is to go.
I loved the rice triangles they made as it was flavorful and tender. Definitely will visit again for their food sometime. The place was a bit small and there weren’t a lot of seats but if you go during a weekday there aren’t many people. My favorjte was the spicy tofu since it was perfectly made.

I went here once and the rice triangles aren't bad, the price is reasonable and the wait ins't long. Not the best rice triangles I've had, but if you are hungry it will definitely do the job. Fairly inexpensive and large serving sizes
This is one of my favorite little chains in the bay, everything on the menu has *usually* been very good. That being said the recent price increase seems to have been accompanied by a massive decrease in service/food quality. Particularly with items like the tofu kimchi and the ahi tuna (which feels like a dangerous item to neglect) you'll have massive variance in the quality of the ingredients. And while I wouldn't call any of it inedible or dangerous, id still say it's pretty disappointing given everything is more expensive now for seemingly no reason whatsoever. Hope they drop their prices back soon. It's honestly kind of rediculous and is starting to get close to "not worth it" territory. (Also as a personal note, they should stick to including limes with orders, as those compliment the food much more than the lemons they have been including as of recent)
Yummy. Good new fast Asian food option. I recommend the Short Rib Triangles and the Poke Triangles. Staff needs to be a little more helpful though in directing customers to auto-order, though. And, you should know that they accept a massive amount of pre-orders that take priority over in-person diners. So you may have to wait quite a while despite you being the only one in the joint! Get on the bandwagon and order in advance, I suppose is the solution.
This place is great. For a low price, you can get a rice triangle with a delicious filling, which can be a great pick-me-up. There are also plates, which is basically a ton of meat over rice. If you get a plate, which probably isn't the most nutritionally balanced meal, understand that the normal size is gargantuan, and the small size left me almost uncomfortably stuffed. Best toppings are the short rib and the tuna poke, which held up even after shortly coming back from Hawai'i. The teriyaki salmon and tofu are also great. My only real complaint about Oori is that for how salty it is, they don't really have any water for you. I don't think I would ever come here if not for the water fountain across the street under the BART, which is also next to a bunch of picnic tables and trash cans. Thank god for parks.
I had Oori Rice Triangles bookmarked on Yelp for a while now but I never checked it out til recently! I'm not sure why it took me so long to finally pass by but I'm sure glad I did. I'm all about finding tasty cheap eats and this is just the place! If you're looking for a quick bite I highly recommend this place. As for the food my friend and I ordered the Spare Rib, Crab, and Spicy Pork rice squares. If you order 3 it comes with ginger and edamame. I thought it would come shelled but it came in a small sauce cup kinda bummed about that part. We also got a small spare rib plate. The food was very tasty! I love how simple everything is but yet everything was very flavorful! They have a good variety of options for the rice triangles. The crab was pretty tasty but I think my favorite one was the Spare Rib! The place itself is super small. There are a few tables inside and outdoor seating as well which is nice. I'll def come back soon to try out the other flavors.
my obsession with cute small things takes me to Oori, though the rice balls are definitely not small. I love onigiri! They're such a fulfilling snack but can also serve as a meal. I especially love getting onigiri as meals because that means I can choose more flavors :) Why this place rocks: - rice to seaweed to protein ratio is fantastic! they don't overkill it with the rice like Onigilly sometimes does. - so many options from fish to grilled meats to marinated tofu! All their protein choices had a lot of flavor. I loved their Grilled Salmon, Crab, and Short Rib (in that order). I didn't care too much for the spicy shrimp but it wasn't bad! - prices are decent! It was great for a quick bite and loved the flexibility of being able to choose how much food I wanted (4 rice triangles was a little much). They do have an option for plates instead of rice triangles which is a great alternative because their meat and rice combo would be killer. If I'm ever in the area, definitely paying a visit here to pick up some rice triangles.
Heads up! This is Americanized Onigiri (Japanese Rice Balls). You are not getting Japanese style “rice triangles” that you would find in Japan and Hawaii in terms of quality (type of rice and seaweed) and style (fillings). Initially the price seemed expensive because in Hawaii you can get onigiri for $2-$4, but here they are generous with the fillings and it’s a little bigger in size so the price seems fair. It was pretty good here, but I prefer the traditional Japanese style. It’s in a school zone so it can get busy. I found free street parking easily so that was nice. You order and pay with card on the device to your left when you enter. You can follow the directions on the screen to pay cash at the register. It was a full house, but orders were distributed efficiently and quickly. If the cashier is busy, the chefs help pass out the food so I thought that was great teamwork. If you want something fast and filling, head to Oori Rice Triangles!
I had spicy pork, short ribs, and salmon. It's was very delicious. I also have had their triangles, which are excellent.

Delicious rice triangles...this is a short rib triangle...service was pretty fast n the staff was very nice! Will have to come back and try the other goodies!!
Really cute little place. It's a good place to go if you aren't super hungry but still want some food. I got the salmon and chicken terriyaki rice triangle. Sauces and sesame are near the entrance.
Not my favorite location of all of the Oori’s, but the food can’t be beat! No where to sit & a very awkward spot. Not the friendliest staff unlike the other locations.

Hit or miss. Often good but we’ve had quality issues with the short rib being burnt or the tuna being tough to chew.
This location gives the least amount of filling of all of the locations. My Ahi Tuna triangle was empty at the bottom. So sad.
This is a take-out spot, and maybe best if you *order delivery* and don’t actually see where the food is made (it’s not terribly attractive.) Simple foods — Asian flavored meats and rice, but can’t go wrong with that. Nothing terribly special here, but tasty and filling.
I don’t know how this place has such high reviews. The place is dingy and dirty. Self serve machines like McDonalds for ordering. The triangles taste just unhealthy and greasy. save yourself money and go to Berkeley Bowl
Spicy Tofu: 4/5 Short Rib: 5/5 Chicken: 4.5/5 Salmon Plate: 3/5 Food was great and diet coke was ice cold! The only thing wrong with this place is the extremely uninviting unfriendly demeanor of the cashier. (skinny Asian guy) Not sure if he was having a bad day or what but it got really tense after he YELLED at a customer who pre-ordered with brown rice when they didn't have brown rice. I tried to get out as fast as I could, didn't want his bad mojo rubbing off on me.

The rice was not seasoned. The seaweed wrap was moist and not crunchy. I sat inside because it was a cold day. What I noticed on the edge of the window was horror. I hope they were black sesame but I doubted.
I ordered two rice balls: a spicy tofu and plain. I was absolutely appalled that the plain rice ball comes with a gaping hole in the middle for a filling to be placed. I went to ask the worker about this and he said if you order a plain they use the same mold but just leave the void unfilled. What I don’t understand is why they can’t simply fill the gaping hole with rice or buy another mold at Daiso for $1.75 specifically to make plain ones?! It takes less than 20 seconds to fill a mold with rice and press down. And to make matters worse, the picture they advertise of the plain rice ball is a perfectly shaped and filled triangle so this is false and misleading advertising. They need to change their photo to the rice ball with the horrible gaping hole. This place is clearly run like a factory with little care or thought put into the food. Totally unacceptable!
Would have rather eaten the box it came in than the food itself. The smell alone was enough to send my animal brain scurrying away. Do not eat this industrial waste. There is much better food for much cheaper in the area.
Usually I don’t like giving 1-star reviews, but my experience here in Albany was disappointing. The staff showed poor communication with Uber and DoorDash drivers, and the attitude felt unprofessional and disrespectful. Drivers work hard to deliver food on time, so clear and polite communication should be basic. On top of that, the place looked dirty and not well-maintained, which added to the negative experience. I really hope the restaurant improves its cleanliness, communication, and the way it treats delivery drivers in the future.
I live in Albany, and I rarely leave bad reviews. But your service today really deserves one. The staff member who helped me gave me the wrong order. When I got home, my five-year-old child had already started eating — and she has many food allergies! When I went back to get my correct order, the lady told me, “I told you to check your order yourself.” Excuse me, ma’am, you didn’t say anything when you handed me the food! And when you heard that my child had already eaten from the wrong order, you even tried to take back the correct one from me! Unbelievable. You truly deserve this bad review.
