We stumbled upon this place while walking towards Brooklyn Bridge (as tourists do). This place seemed so charming that we just had to get some lunch here. The staff was very friendly and the food was absolutely delicious!! Also the interior is extremely charming and unique. This place tells a story (or many stories that is). Next time we are in NYC we will definitely come back! (The corndog was amazing 😍)
We finished up dinner at another restaurant and were heading back to a friend's hotel when this place caught my attention. I'm so glad we went in for a margarita. There is a solid drink menu, flip it over and there are a bunch of specials. We were absolutely stuffed from dinner but all the food coming out of the kitchen looked great. We ended up getting a second round of drinks and chips and queso. The actual queso was good but the serving in a cute little cauldron that was literally boiling was great. (Picture the equivalent of fajitas sizzling but queso) Perfect, hot, drippy queso with chips. The actual establishment is so adorably bizarre with the sea and country aesthetic, I really enjoyed it. Our server was a great balance of friendly and attentive but didn't hover. Everything was so good our friends went back tonight for dinner. I just wish it was closer to our hotel!
Best Margaritas than most places around...the tacos are delish...the pulled pork minis come with a tasty coleslaw, and great BBQ sauce! I love the staff...they are very sweet and helpful. I sat outside because it was a beautiful day. I go here often, never disappoints!
Great experience on a Friday night. It was very busy inside and out. My friend and I sat outside. The host and the wait staff were very friendly. They have QR codes on the table for you to order in case you don't want to be in contact with your waiter (bill and tip included). We got a drink each, black bean nachos, blacken shrimp quesadilla and chicken enchilada. The wait for the food was long but they were very good. The drinks were strong as well.
We arrived just after 12 for lunch and were welcomed and seated. It was pretty quiet, which isn't usually a good sign but the place filled up quickly as lunchtime wore on.We shared some buffalo wings to start which were great. Really good sized wings with plenty of meat on. We had shrimp and chips which were goods but the star was the full rack of ribs! HUGE!!!!! And absolutely delicious. Great fries too. Nice service and cracking food and pretty reasonable. If you have had a walk on the Brooklyn bridge this is well worth a pit stop!
We had our dinner here. They have both indoor and outdoor seatings. The food was amazing. The burrito bowl with shrimp in particular was the best. So fresh and tasty. The guacamole and nachos were great too. Must visit.
Came here after a day of sightseeing in Brooklyn, and was very pleased with the experience. The employees were all super welcoming and accommodating, and ready to give suggestions. The variety of food was fantastic, and the food itself was delicious. Also has a good location with a view of the bridge which was nice. Very clean, and not particularly busy, so it felt different than most places in the city. A very positive experience overall--no complaints whatsoever.
The food and drinks are so good!! Everyone working here is super chill and nice. They have an interesting and smooth setup with scanning the QR code at your table and you can order and pay all at once and then your order is brought to your table. This is the smartest setup I've seen as far as adapting to outdoor seating since it helps prevent people from dining and dashing. 10/10 would visit again!
Food was better than expected. Blackened fish tacos w/ mango, and the blackened chicken burrito bowls were insane. Love the depth of flavors and the balance that follows. Overall. Checked this place out.. it's an underrated jewel in the neighborhood..
We loved Cowgirl Seahorse. We went for Sunday Brunch around noon and were seated right away. Cute eclectic place. Drinks and food were fantastic. Our waitress was great too. Food was very well prepared, nothing super fancy, exactly what we wanted, I would call it comfort food. The potatoes were to die for, as were the Basket O' Biscuits with bacon onion jam & creamy honey-butter. We planned to walk the Brooklyn Bridge afterwords so it was the perfect location.
Good for late night drinks, lots of options and both food and drinks are super good. Staff very friendly
Don't mess with the mystery shot. Sharkarita is all you need. One bathroom is a full room color-blind exam... but also bubbly sea foam. There were zero mermaids. Sad. There were zero seahorses. Sad.
Just what the dr ordered! A must visit place if you have been drinking and forget to eat!! Friendly staff and very tasty food🤞
Tex mex grub with a seafood twist (hey it's at the seaport) a stiff pour at the bar and live music Mondays and Tuesdays. Kitchen open late!
Love this place! Frozen Mango Margaritas….Amazing!!! Great after work spot🙌🏽
Went after work with a friend the drinks and food were very good.
We discovered this place by chance on our way to the Brooklyn Bridge. We went inside and the waitress was really sweet and helpful. We had the Nachos and wings. Both were fresh and very delicious. The place itself is unique, and we will be back for sure.
I’ve been coming to CGSH since 2004 when I stumbled upon it while checking out the historical buildings around the Brooklyn Bridge. It has an eclectic vibe, good food, and the best service - bar none. Do yourself a favor and visit this venerable place when in NYC. You can thank me later.
Staff was super nice, place was beautiful. Unfortunately I wasn’t hungry because I would love to have tried everything. Frozen margarita with strawberry was great and the guacamole too (though the Tortillas were soso). Would definitely come back with friends to have drinks but am also hoping to get a meal there.
Me and my friend were visiting NYC from LA, we found this place while visiting the Brooklyn Bridge on the date of my BD and it was our last day in NYC. Nice outdoor seating area. The food was amazing, we loved their smoke grilled chicken wings and their drinks were tasty too. We had two rounds of cocktail and two rounds of chicken wings (super full after). The staffs (a girl and a guy, sorry forgot their names) were super friendly and invited us to join a shot to celebrate. Loved this place and hopefully will come back again soon.
Went around midnight and was pretty busy still but the service was so fast and extremely friendly bartender. He was on top of everything and even brought our drinks to our table. Fantastic place a 2 minute walk to the Brooklyn bridge entrance.
We randomly found this place and were not disappointed. A little gem. They have a good selection of tap beer, and a well stocked bar. The food was exceptional, and service was second to none. 10/10 would highly recommend, and if we make it back to NYC from the UK will be back for more.
Bar and restaurant with a lot of character. In an old building in the south street seaport just below the Brooklyn bridge. Very creative and tasty seafood along with some of the usual dishes. Oyster po boy, white fish Reuben and fish and chips we're all excellent. A starter of coconut shrimp with some tropical sauce was very good too. Bar was large with some good specials and solid selection of tap beer. Definitely a good place to try.
Thanks to LMCC (Lower Manhattan Cultural Center) this was my first time visit. Will definitely revisit. The food and drink was delicious and the wait staff was wonderful!!! I loved discovering a few nostalgic posters advertising Governor's Island!!! I look forward to revisiting soon!!!
We went there for dinner and had a really great time. The service was particularly friendly and the food really amazing. I had the schrimps with grips and it was as tasty as it can be. My wife ordered the enchiladas and there were excellent too. For dessert I chose the peanut butter pie and it was amazing. Meanwhile my wife tried the brownie (I tasted it :p) and it was delicious. Definitely a good adress because the price was also not expensive regarding the quality (around 25$ per person for a main course and dessert) Moreover the atmosphere was very fun and there is a quiz game every Wednesday.
Great place, and where I first heard about the famous painting they have hanging on the wall This painting is known as “The Guardian of the Highway”, created in the late 1970s by an anonymous roadside artist who was once a long-haul trucker himself. Legend has it that after narrowly surviving a catastrophic accident in the Nevada desert, the man claimed to have seen a vision: a figure of Christ appearing above his wrecked rig, arms outstretched in both welcome and protection. He gave up trucking soon after and began painting devotional works in small towns along the interstate. Unlike traditional religious art, his subjects always merged the divine with the world of the road—chrome, diesel, and endless highways. This particular piece, featuring a gleaming blue semi beneath the blessing hands of Christ, became a favorite among truck stops and diners across the Midwest, where it was seen as a talisman for safe passage. Truckers whispered that those who carried a copy of this painting—or even a photograph of it—would find themselves spared from breakdowns and bad weather. Some said that if you looked closely at the truck’s headlights, they seemed to glow faintly in the dark, like guiding beacons on a lonely highway. Today, “The Guardian of the Highway” survives as folk-art legend: equal parts roadside spirituality, Americana, and the weary hope of those who live their lives between the mile markers"
Super fun and cute restaurant! Staff was very nice and attentive. The decor was so good and the food was great! The wings were amazing! Jalapeño poppers and enchiladas were great too. It was definitely Tex-mex so a little different than my favorite classic Mexican food, but still great! Music was fun. Will be going back! And it’s an affordable dinner in Manhattan so 10/10
Nestled in the easternmost edge of the seaport, just under the Brooklyn Bridge, you’ll find this inconspicuous little gem. They serve unpretentious Tex Mex sprinkled with seafood and burgers. I only tried the nachos but they were absolutely stellar. The beef was high quality, the guacamole was amazing and they make their own hot sauces. The green sauce was my fave. Sadly they don’t bottle the hot sauce for retail sale, or I’d purchase a couple. I can’t wait to return and try the burgers, I saw several of them hustled past me, one with gigantic fluffy onion rings. They looked as good as any burger I’ve seen. This place came highly recommended and it lived up to the hype. Great job.
this was a random stop, and it was amazing! We were down by the pier for a tour, and decide to look up a local place to grab a good bite. We strolled in, sat outside in a perfect environment, had a fantastic waiter, and amazing food. I would’ve called this a perfect New York dinner
A random choice for lunch before our harbor cruise. The name caught our attention and it was an awesome find. The eclectic decor added to the charm, who doesn't love Seahorses? The food was delicious and portions were large. The location nestled under the Brooklyn Bridge was very cool.
I go here often, close to my job. Food is good and quick! Nice place to go and relax a decent view of the bridge from below. Quiet area off the beaten path to say. I would say it is def a hidden gem. Margaritas and nachos are favorite combo. Pictures are of the chicken and waffle app, Chicken quesadilla, buffalo wings and classic margarita.

A great place to spend time with friends or family. Highly enjoyable!
Got my Tex-Mex fix . Oh how I’ve missed you so , Queso . Had that little extra kick which makes all the difference . You’ll relish every bite . Tacos are tasty too but the quac that came on the side wasn’t great . Looked and tasted like it wasn’t made fresh . Nice to sit outside . Attentive waiter and was thankful for the to go drink when I left . Maybe consider adding DP, Big Red , Lone Star to complete the experience ? I’ve been to Cowgirl for chicken friend steak several times and just found out about this sister restaurant for Tex Mex . So if you like this one you’ll like that one too . Both Cowgirls know their way around the kitchen .
Happy hour is on point. The frozen margaritas were delicious! Food is lackluster and fairly expensive, and points were lost only on it. Waitstaff and bartenders quite friendly and accomodating. The ambiance is kitschy and definitely seems to attract mostly tourists. Good vibes, but would return only for the happy hour, anything else is a bad deal.
Decoration a little drab, but food was good, and the service fantastic. Cozy little place.
Very good experience overall. The food was tasty and well presented, and the staff was friendly. The waiting time was a bit long, but it was worth it.

Cowgirl Seahorse-NYC-funky retro bar near the Brooklyn Bridge. Quirky interior of colored lights, non-matched lighting and exposed brick. Mix of Tex Mex and seafood menu. Proof of vaccination cards…
2nd time we've been here. Food is amazing- would rate that 5 stars. However, the service was horrible. Our server was Pam and she was inattentive. She was also rude, she threw down the menus, clipboard, and pen. Very off-putting personality.
Wanted to like this place more than I did. Overpriced for “mid” quality food. Bottled beer was warm.
came here last night we asked if we could sit outside The owner was not very welcoming or friendly at all with us so much of a shrug! Over all experience the fish and ships were amazing everything was fresh and very good drinks amazing and very tasty kiddos to the bartender excellent job and the cook made the food worth coming back again thank you. Our waitress was so sweet and really took care of us thank you so much the key lime pie was on her and was out of this world! A must try when you come The deserts are not frozen all handmade I love that and it is rare that you will get great deserts that are not store bought or frozen. I will come back to this place it"s a lovely restaurant with a very cool chilled vibe.
Cowgirl Seahorse feels like a surf/tiki lounge dive bar that also serves food. When you step in you are swarmed in colorful led lights draped along the ceiling and various posters of haute couture people from the 50s. The diners consisted of what seemed like tourists and families. The food was pretty standard. I ordered a white fish reuben with fries and I was surprised that it came on what looked like regular sliced white bread that was toasted into oblivion. It tasted good, I just felt like anything would taste good with that much cheese. I couldn’t taste my cabbage! The fries were good, they kept the skin on which I’m not the biggest fan of but still nice. The hot sauce (already in a squeeze bottle) that you can ask for was the best part. Whatever that green stuff is I was all in. Overall pretty fine place. I wouldn’t come back I don’t think but had a good experience.
Right by the Brooklyn Bridge. The decor is funky and fun. We only had appetizers and drinks. The jalapeno poppers were actually kind of spicy, really liked them. Fries were also pretty good. The drinks were alright, nothing to write home about. The mint in one drink was a little wilted/rotten, but good otherwise.
Nice food on a competitive trivia night! We came there on a Wednesday night and didn’t know there would be a one-hour trivia night, which was quite fun and not too loud. The food was good, quite authentic, our friend even said, “the enchilada tastes just like the one I had in Mexico.’ So that’s a good sign. Portion was quite small for the price. I ordered taco trio and it should’ve been no more than $15. Service was friendly but quite slow. Our seat was all the way back next to the restroom. Not nice.

Nothing special, open late got some food , not worth the price in my opinion. But not the worst place there is
Food is incredibly mid, especially compared to the original Cowgirl. Service was poor. Drinks were fun/tasty that’s the only thing I’ll give it. They brought out fajitas on a non-sizzling room temperature skillet- need I say more?
The place is cool. Nice music. Nice seating outside and view of the Brooklyn Bridge. But service was terrible. They are nice but, you have to ask them over and over to get one thing. Every time l had to walk to the bar and bartender told me waitress was gonna get something for me and then l was waiting and asking her and she was like "one moment" and not getting it. So l decided to leave. I may go back because of the building, location and decoration some other time and check if they have different servers or if they care more for my presence :-(
I was excited to try this place but I had a really bad experience with the hostess from the start. I had an empty soda in my hand and she said no outside drinks and I said that's ok I'm done and she said ok you can go throw it out outside...I couldn't throw it out inside. She said I had to walk out and find a public trash can to be able to sit down??? CRAZY
I decided to come here as a celebratory experience because we had a friend from out of town visiting. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Our waiter (long brown hair, male, tall) was extremely rude and not attentive. He had an attitude the whole time, and it felt like he just wanted us to leave, so much so I thought the restaurant was closing (this was at 11:30 pm). Also we had previously gone with a party of 5 and the gratuity was added on. When we recently came the gratuity was added to a party of 6, which is understandable, however the waitress did NOT deserve the 20% tip, as he treated us rudely. At one point we were going to order more food and beverages, however the waiter came to us with the check, so we then decided to just leave.
This review is based on a MealPal experience: I'll start off with the good, the tacos I ordered were delicious. And that's it. The rest of the experience was pretty bad. First, my order was not ready within the pick-up window. Second, the portion was pretty small (two tacos of average size/smaller than Chipotle) with no sides. While delicious, the tacos were a bit messy and the paper wrap holding each taco got stuck tot he tortilla, which caused some ripping. End result: I'll pass in the future.
Food was not good. Everything was super greasy and had no flavor. Onion rings were inedible; sent them back. Waiter brought us the wrong entrees and took them back after we started eating the fries; I hope they didn't give them to the people that actually ordered them. Onion rings were left in the bill; had to request them to be removed. Great decor but super loud, clientele AND staff. Won't be back; waste of money.

Food is way over priced and bland, drinks way too sugary and weak, staff was rude- particularly the hostess. Decor is cute.
we waited 45 minutes for nachos and a B.L.A.T. and the food is horrible. Nachos were cold and chewy. The B.L.A.T had so much mayo and 1 strip of bacon, it was all just gross.

This was honestly the worst food I have had in a long time. The most surprising thing about this food is the price, the bill was $210.11 and I felt like this food was worth $5. I had the fried shrimp and the color was off, it tasted like corn meal and the breading did not even stay on. The grits were so hard, the nachos had no flavor. The ranch was served and that person put their fingers in it knowing she did and did not offer a new one we had to ask. Also, the ranch tasted as if it was old. I usually never write reviews but this place should just be a bar and not serve any type of food especially at this price. Also our waitress kept walking away every time we kept asking questions as if we were bothering her.
What an absolute disaster. Whoever thought of combining Cajun creole, BBQ, Mexican and Seafood must have been on mushrooms. Not only was the cuisine combination a complete head scratcher, the country music was mind boggling. Nothing made sense. There was a loose coffee bean in our water pitcher and the dish ware delivered to our table was dirty. Service was ok, but skip this place if you value your digestive system and health.
Rough experience at Cowgirl Seahorse. Went here before a show at Pier17 and they sat us and took our order pretty quickly. We waited about :30 and checked in and the person behind the bar said he had “absolutely no idea” how much longer it would be. They were incredibly rude and wish they had just said upfront that the kitchen was incredibly backed up. Would never think of coming here before a show again or if it was even remotely crowded.
The service was a disgrace. Drinks didn’t come for ages. Three different servers came to take our order even though we had ordered. Wait staff lost order but food came out soon after? Once food was there, then drinks came out AFTER the food except for a Sprite that was not a Sprite, but seltzer. A guac and chips took 50 minutes after 4 reminders to wait staff. One server wearing headphones around their neck just throwing food on the table so it spills on table. Another server blames the other servers for the lack of service. Absolutely horrid. Avoid!
I wanted to rate 0 stars. My experience was horrible here. My younger sister had an allergic reaction to nuts that was on sweet potato fries. There was no indication of nuts on the menu and the waiter did not mention there was nuts on them nor ask. The owner kicked us out and told us he doesnt care if he sent her to the hospital or killed her. Idk what type of person says that to customer having an allergic reaction that can be fatal. Good thing she had her emergency epipen. Then i found out that hes actually the owner Fred Quiey. He should not be in the hospitality business. We even asked 2 different staff members what type of nuts are on the sweet potato fries and they both did not know….My server took long to take our order on top of that. They served us the wrong drinks. We received bad attitudes from the staff all night. The server actually told us he knew we was going to cause an issue before we even sat down before he cursed us out sticking his middle finger up at us. He was super racist. The place is a mess. The food was dry, the drinks were bad when they did get it right. Think twice before eating here.
HORRIBLE SERVICE. LESS THAN AVERAGE FOOD. We waited a long time for a table and when one finally opened up, no one came to seat us so we had to seat ourselves. I had to track down someone to help clear our table. It took another 20 or so minutes for someone to take our order. Also, their website mentioned $5 pints of Pacifico on Monday nights but we were charged $6! The worst part - the beer was warm! If you're going to charge me extra, at least make sure the beer you're serving is ice cold! But we did have fun listening to the live music by Brother Leroy and A. Lefaive.
The waiter was really nice and the atmosphere can be a little chaotic but still enjoyable. The food on the other hand just didn't have much flavor at all. This mixed with the price of the food just didn't seem worth it for me, too expensive not quality enough. The lemonade tasted really interesting (not in a good way). This could be because I came dinner but overall I'd give this place two stars, would not come here again.
This was a terrible experience. One of the bouncers actually threatened to hurt me just because he wasn’t getting attention from the younger girls in our group. On top of that, his coworkers came over and falsely accused me of being loud. Completely unprofessional, unsafe, and hostile environment. Terrible people and service — do not go here, especially if you’re a guy with female friends.
$9 for a draft Modelo to sit next to a drunk guy slurring...if it's your version of a good time enjoy!
I was having a great time with my friends. Food and drinks amazing, but we got booted out when influencers came in and wanted our table. Collectively my group and I spend about 200 and we were there first, but still they prioritize camera crews and rude influencers that think they are better than you. Not returning.
