This is the best place to go for a succulant chinese meal! It is very cheap, good size portions and the waitress was very nice. I came in at 4.05 which was 5 minutes late but could still enjoy the lunch menu. You will get complimentary tea which is a big plus. All meats are very juicy and delicious. Crispy pig and duck are my favorite. See you next time! Thanks
Wonderful Cantonese and best part food is not drowned in oil or overcooked like many Chinese restaurants. For two we ordered 1/2 duck, squid w/black bean sauce, Chinese broccoli, and one order white rice. Plenty leftover for a light meal the next day. About $60 - I see people complaining about price - It's a very good deal, and you can BYO. Portions are generous. Consider food, rent and operating costs are astronomical for these restaurants. Service excellent
What a gem! Food was delicious and prices are super reasonable. Wife and I enjoyed this restaurant more than any other restaurants we tried on our trip to NYC. We got the BBQ chicken and pork, and the lunch sesame chicken. Sooo good you have to try it! Also, this place is super clean and you can tell the staff cares about keeping the restaurant in a clean condition which is rare for Chinese. 5 stars!!
My go to place when I'm in Chinatown, accessible near subways. I love the noodle soups, lunch specials, and the roasted duck and chicken soy sauce. Yummy 😋
Great place for lunch. Very reasonable price. Fresh food, great spice, perfect portion. Nice wait staff. We had curried squid and General Tao chicken. Both were very tasty.
Great street view find! Delicious commentary hit tea upon seating. cheap prices for a substantial meal. Meat was very flavorful. Good service.
The lunch special is insane! Amazing value for the portion size, and it was really good. An anthentic Cantonese spot for casual dishes but also the fancy stuff. Service is better than what you'd expect in Chinatown. It was clean and inviting. And they take cards!!
Amazing place and delicious food!!!! 10/10 recommended 👌🏻 we come here every time we visit New York!!!
Staff were friendly and service was fast. Food was ready 10 minutes after ordering. The crispy pork over rice was good for $9 lunch special. Not much flavor in the pork. The seafood noodle was bland with no flavor. The chicken lo mein was good and was a large portion. The 1/4 roast duck was crispy but tasted too salty and very oily. I had to get a bowl of chilly oil to add spice to the food.
$11 LUNCH SPECIALS EVERYDAY MONDAY TO FRIDAY 1030am to 4pm. That's all you need to know!! HIGHLY UNDERRATED & ABSOLUTE GEM!!!better than Uncle lous lunch specials & and other places ive tried in CT! I've been here for dine in and takeout. Portions are generous for 1 person and I personally can finish it but the entrees can def can fit for two people if you request a second rice portion ($1.50 to 2 i believe). Chinese brocoli and beef / tofu casseroles are my go to dishes. CONSISTENTLY GOOD. Locals and office workers come here. Only $1 increase in last 2 to 3 years for lunch specials. VALUE FOR ONES MONEY!!!
I purchased a whole Duck and Large chicken fried rice for my family to bring back to NJ and they did not disappoint. We love this style of Duck and everyone enjoyed it. We will definitely be coming back when in NYC. Thanks!
My husband and I are from Toronto and were quite impressed on how genuine their dishes were. We ordered the hot pepper fried pork intestine (most impressive), 1/2 free run chicken and black pepper steak filet. The black pepper steak fell short a bit, but not terrible. Service was actually quite good to my surprise… very tentative. Seating is not five star, but because of the value and quality of food, I give them a 20% gratuity and an overall 5-star rating.
We had a wonderful dining experience at this authentic Chinese restaurant on Canal Street. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm and delicious tea. Our group shared General Tso’s Chicken, Singapore Mei Fun noodles, and the Chicken Pot. Each dish was delightful and bursting with flavor. The meal ended with the most delicious watermelon. Everything was superbly delightful. Highly recommend!
We did not yelp this restaurant before entering. We simply chose it because it was close to our hotel. We were not disappointed. The food is really good and the price is very fair. The walnut shrimp is large and fresh and soooo goood. The seafood dry pot is sizzling good. The fish maw soup was not to my liking. And the peppered short rib is so goood with rice. We even returned the next day for some noodle soup for brunch. Did not expect to find such a hidden gem like this.
This was place amazing! Got the half portion of Peking duck and noodles with shrimp. Definitely a must try! And this was my first time trying pecking duck. Bill was 74usd.
This Restaurant is Delicious! We had a great dinner with the entire family and everything (all dishes) we tried were delicious 😍 The staff was super friendly and kind and we will definitely come back soon 🙏 100% recommended 👍
This is actually a one star review. But because you can’t see one star reviews…. Expect them to be rude and embarrass you if you don’t leave a tip. If you go by yourself, they’ll seat you with other people to make space for more customers. I don’t have a problem with that. The issue was the restaurant’s etiquette. If you go in pairs or in a group. One person will receive their food 10 minutes at a time. And if you don't leave a tip due to the amount of rudeness when you kindly ask about your food (i promise i asked kindly. I’m not the type to have an attitude with restaurant workers). The prices are high and it’s $18 to order a side of pork fried rice because the $20 meal does not come with a side. Bottom line, they stood in my way and made a scene about me not leaving a tip after my bad experience. I would much rather go to a restaurant that’s accommodating to the customer. I gave the guy a $10 tip to de-escalate the situation but I’m not coming back here ever again….
I had a great dinner, best choice . Everything was good and delicious from beginning to end, food nice portions, tge service was really quick clean and really friendly Food : general tso, shrimp dumplings I loveddd that they served orange slices with bill free charge Highly recommended

People didn't notice how good this place is. But if you wanna try some traditional Cantonese food please come. Each of the dishes is so good and very authentic

I had the Soy Sauce Chow Mein at this restaurant and the chef knew exactly how to cook this up for me. It comes with all types of allium slightly sauteed with pan fried noodles with soy sauce. WOW!, my bloating disappeared overnight. Great wait staff and very good counter service for takeout. They can speak English and Chinese.
Chinatown gem for authentic Cantonese—East Season delivers big, fresh flavors! Food was outstanding: roast duck crispy-skinned and juicy, shrimp har gow plump and translucent, BBQ pork tender and sweet-savory, and live clam stir-fry garlicky and briny. Portions huge—great value. Service was quick and friendly (they hustle during busy times). Atmosphere is classic and energetic—big tables, clattering carts, family vibe—feels like real dim sum chaos in the best way, though it's loud and crowded.
5 star rating is based on the class of diner style restaurants around the area. It's a locally oriented restaurant tailored to serve the community which blends the old school Chinese style food service while it's also appealing to the non-asian visitors. The food was great. The staffs are friendly and would explain and describe the dishes to the customers who are not familiar with the different items on the menu. We've been both eating in and ordering takeouts for quite a while. If you're a tourist and follow the rule of eat where the locals eat, this is the place. Nothing fancy but a good meal. Some of the dishes I recommend are the stir fry lobster with sticky rice. 😊 It's a very delicious and filling dish not too many restaurants serve. Another one is snow pea sprouts with crab meat. It combines the fresh sweet taste of young snow pea sprouts with the natural sweetness of crab meat. Of course their BBQ meats are my favorite takeaways, from roasted duck to the roasted pig with the crispy skin. 👍🏻

The waitress is Very friendly and the food yummy.
everything is good enough. I would like to come back again and recommend them. We ordered house special stir fried delight (本楼小炒皇) Crab meat with pea sprout (蟹肉豆苗)beef chow fun(干炒牛河) 。 the house stir fried delight was still good but a little greasy.
Roast duck is good but if ur buying half with card it 19 sumthing almost 20 buck
During our visit in Chinatown my partner wanted Chinese food so we stopped here had to wait a few minutes because this place is busy we shared a table which seems like a common theme food was delicious.
Classic Cantonese food. Smaller place maybe about 9 tables. Food was solid, waiters were nice.
We ordered the crispy pork with rice. It was crispy and tasty, but it was cold, not even warm. Is it supposed to be cold? The fish with green beans was amazing. It was one of the tastiest I've ever had.
East Season Restaurant is a hidden gem for authentic Chinese food. The family-style menu makes sharing dishes easy and fun. Complimentary hot tea starts the meal, and fresh orange slices at the end are a refreshing touch. Spacious seating and friendly, attentive staff make this spot truly welcoming.
Not a splashy place but authentic and tasty Chinese Cantonese food that’s consistent. We’ve eaten here a few times and the food doesn’t disappoint at a fair price. Clean. $: 5 stars/very reasonable Treatment: 5 stars/service was very good & attentive Experience: 5 stars/overall experience was great & would definitely come back!

We really enjoyed our meal here! Very casual and absolutely unassuming, it was just what we were looking for. Large portions, authentic, delicious food and a very reasonable price. NO FRILLS! (This cannot be overstated!). Our server was quite friendly and attentive. Seems like the place attracts local folks who are looking for a good meal at a good price.

I honestly didn't like the food. The steamed bok choy was off. The vegetable looked old and limp. The garlic sauce was good though. I ordered roast pork thinking I would get the one hanging from the window. I didn't. I got the wet roast pork. I had wanted the dry one.

I ordered some BBQ pork and beef chow fun to go and both were pretty good. For everyone who is complaining about the mandatory gratuity added to the bill at the end, the restaurant included it to account for all the tourists visiting from foreign countries where tipping does not exist so they do not tip (unless they are dining in America) and the waiters here rely on those tips and gratuity to pay their wages.

My first visit there on my way home from an appointment. I ordered to go. While eating the food, I felt something hard. I thought possibly a thin bone. It was a shell from shell fish. I don't know if lobster or crab, but I am allergic to shellfish. And I ordered vegetable dishes. This left me appalled. Needless to say, I will never go there again. This kind of mistake is a very serious one.
Food was really not good, my brother and I felt a bit nauseous after eating the duck. But the rice and veggies were delicious! The service was delightful and ambience too, because they were so friendly. I’ve had duck at various Chinese restaurants and this was very disappointing!
went to eat with my wife 8/20/24; ordered two lunches for $11, two soups for $9, soda $2 and beer $9, they brought us one soup with pork, we said we don't eat it, change it, they brought it with chicken. When I pay the check the amount came to $61, I looked at the check several times and there were 6 items. I didn't think anything bad and left, when I recounted everything, I realized that they added that soup but didn't indicate it on the check, scammers! don't go to this place!
Bought my roast pig with rice for lunch. When I took it back to work, all fat, 3 pieces of end meat. I guess I am not a regular customer. Never go back again.
Good food. Pros: I paid $15 for dine-in roast duck with rice ($13 for takeout). Tea was complimentary. Cons: Automatic 18% tip + tax, so my total came out to $19.03. I gave $20, and got 75 cent change instead of 97 cents. Lazy and greedy worker
This restaurant service was the WORST I've ever encountered in New York City. I've never encountered such shameless waiter. I've been here several times before and always tipped them well. However, Tipping is not a customer's responsibility, but when printing the receipt, the owner simply forced a 20% tip onto the bill without giving me the option to choose. When I asked to write my own tip, he became furious and refused to change the receipt. Given the lack of service and the mandatory fee, I chose not to give. What I didn't expect was that the owner chased me out to demand a tip and even cursed at me. Everyone, DON’T come here unless you want to be disrespected.
