Everything was phenomenal from start to finish. Delicious food, excellent service, and reasonable prices. This may be the best Italian restaurant in Passaic County. We ordered the zuppa di pesce, pappardelle, chicken saltimbocca, chicken carnivale, and fettuccini carbonara for our entrees, followed by cappuccinos and Napoleon cake. Everything was amazing, but the service was really what stood out. I've been coming to this restaurant under various different owners since 2013 and never had a good experience. I was truly blown away. Will definitely be coming back!

So excited to have a new restaurant like this in town! I ordered the chicken francese and it was sooo good! The chicken was perfectly thin and the sauce was amazing, light, and full of flavor. They also give you complimentary rice balls, which were a really nice touch and honestly delicious. On top of that, it’s really nice inside. Definitely a place I’ll be going back to.

I was hesitant to write a review because it might mean i’ll have to fight for a reservation next time. Best restaurant in NJ. A hidden treasure. Amazing food and I plan to try everything on the menu at least once. BYOB is another plus as there is a great liquor store a few feet away in the same plaza. Go, you will love it and the chef ans staff.

We went to Il Gusto last night for the first time with my parents (who’ve already been like 3 times!) it was by and far the best experience and the best food I’ve had in years!!! Dino (I hope I spelled that right) and his brother and the rest of the staff were so accommodating and the service was impeccable!! The owners are my folks’ neighbors so we knew how lovely they were going in but they just made everything so wonderful! I loved the atmosphere too! Kind of modern but so cozy too! I was so happy to see a very busy restaurant, especially on a Wednesday night, for these amazing people! Thank you again and we definitely will be back and will be recommending il Gusto to everyone we know!!!

Went for a late lunch. (Order before 3!) Besides crusty bread and butter, we received complimentary arancini appetizer and onion soup! Service was fast and very attentive. Chicken entrees were served over spinach and mashed potatoes. Delicioso! Excellent value for fine food and fancy atmosphere.

While the Puttanesca was a good choice, the chicken sorrentino was a big disappointment laying thin slices of chicken on top of mashed potatoes (ouch) and with hardly any sauce, basically no taste at all, I must mention that dropping those free rice balls with sauce on them onto the table makes me want to play tennis to get them as far away as possible….today i had lunch at Portabello in Oakland and the swordfish with chopped eggplant peppers and mushrooms sauce was out of this world tasty so was the blackened Salmon with salad, going back here for more lunches priced at 16-18 dollars but it is not byob.

Great dinner and portions.. a lot of help but no one understands english and eggplant rollatini appetizer so ridiculously small that everyone actually laughed when they saw it. Gotta do better on that one guys

The servers were friendly and attentive but food was disappointing at this price point. The fried calamari was fresh but not crispy outside. The salad was withered, clearly was prepared way too early. I ordered Gnocchi for my entree and the mushroom flavor was overpowering and the gnocchi tasted more flour than potatoes. It was also very loud in the restaurant, I could barely talk to my family.

First time coming. 4pm reservation for 6 and two children Christmas Eve. 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order even though multiple people came to fill our water. 1 hour 20 from being seated to have our food brought to the table. Had to ask 3 times where the food was while tables of 2, 3, 4 seated after us were already onto their dessert. Unacceptable. Had to ask 3 times for the check. The food was very good (chicken parm) but not good enough to overcome the incompetence. It was painfully obvious they never had to handle a full resturant for dinner before.
