Opinions de Les Enfants de Bohème Albee Square
What a wonderful place with absolutely delicious food and great energy. Love coming here and can’t wait to return! The duck confit is exceptional 😇
We’ve been going to Les enfants since the earliest of days and they never disappoint. More than that, they have been a consistent space for our family, friends and community throughout their entire tenure. We no longer live on the LES but truly anytime we’re down we return to this perfect, delicious, family oriented paradise. 10000000/10 recommend.
amazing date or group spot! classic french food, you can’t go wrong with anything you order here. also if you like a dirty martini, get their version on the cocktail menu— it’s one of my favorites in the city! food standouts are the roast chicken (giant portion, so juicy) and the moule frites! also loved the kale caesar if you need a lil veg for balance. the vibes were popping on a thursday night, can’t wait to be back!
Everything about this place is French magic without being pretentious or overtrying. Classics with reasonable price. Alone on the bar or small or big group you feel like visiting abroad. Been my go to since 2018. Highly recommend.
Wonderful restaurant with charming staff. Delightful service. Great food. Very nice. Dinner with friends was superb on a Sunday night. Will go again.
I had the Boeuf Carottes Façon Grand Mère, the Spicy Gringo, and a Banana Old Fashioned. Everything was incredible. The flavors were rich and balanced, and the cocktails were perfect. Cozy atmosphere, great service, and one of the best French spots in the Lower East Side.
Great place on the Lower East Side! We went for a birthday celebration, and it couldn't have been better! Communication before the day was spot on, and the bartender and server were amazing, making great recommendations and very attentive without being obtrusive. The food was spot on, we enjoyed everything. The Coin-coin was great, and we were fighting over the appetizers. I would definitely go back!
We had a great experience at Les Enfants de Bohème. We had a unique situation and the owner was kind enough to accommodate us without us even asking. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was delicious and very filling. We also got the chocolate mousse which was sweeter than I expected but sharing it with my husband was enough for me to enjoy it. The bathroom was also clean. The service was great and it wasn’t too crowded when we were there (1:30-3:00). I would love to go back to try more items on the menu.
This restaurant is a TRUE HIDDEN GEM!! I loved everything about it from delectable food, impeccable service, inviting atmosphere. Plus they have live music on Sundays for brunch after 12:30 add an extra layer of charm! I ordered a ham and cheese croissant- the best one I have ever had! My friends echoed the sentiment as they savored their dishes.
Les Enfants de Bohème is one of those places that makes you feel like the main character. We went to this very popular establishment on a Saturday morning around 10:00 AM. We got cappuccinos & waffles with eggs & bacon. These waffles were insanely good. They were crispy on the outside & had a really sweet vanilla bean flavor. It went perfectly with the eggs & bacon. The Capp was awesome too. I would certainly return for brunch or dinner or drinks or anything. It's a taste of France in & the restaurant experience feels special.
Incredible experience. The lighting, mood, vibe, the music, the food, and team (all around, hands down team) are all so good. We were welcomed from the start. I had the duck, which was perfectly marbled, and not overwhelming fatty…the first duck I ever loved tbh. Their bartenders mix up amazing gin, whiskey, and mezcal cocktails… Miranda is so welcoming and attentive. 7 out of 5 folks. A must.
The food was spectacular as was the service. Went with a friend and we shared food. We ordered the Moules Dijonnaise, very generous portion of mussels that came in a delicious broth. We also ordered a side of hand cut fries to go with the mussels, and the Volaille des Enfants, an exquisite chicken that's both juicy and tender, going great with the potato puree it comes with. The food was 10/10. My friend and I also very much enjoyed the ambience. While strictly following health guidelines and taking all the necessary safety precautions post-quarantine, they were still able to created a relaxed environment with great personnel and outdoor music. Great food, service, and prices. Would recommend and go again.
I adore this spot and mostly everything we ordered was fabulous - french onion soup, escargot, kale caesar, braised beef, burger, brussels - but we were most excited for the roasted chicken which fell flat / was dry :( I’ll still give it another try and would come back for everything else + martinis galore (come for happy hour at the bar!!). Certainly a gem in the LES/Chinatown, ambience and service were solid.
We had a lovely New Year’s Eve meal at Les Enfants. First time here. I’d highly recommend the Escargot and the Moules. The French Onion Soup was alright - lacking that beefy depth and saltiness I love in an onion soup. The drinks were great though but more than anything, we loved the service and the vibe. Everyone was having a great time and made it a memorable send off meal for 2025.
Like any place in New York it’s a little tight and loud but overall a wonderful restaurant. I ordered the salmon and it was perfectly cooked but again per usual in New York in America lots of oil.
Food was very good and the servers are nice! My only criticism is of the atmosphere. Though a quaint restaurant, it's very dimly lit and it was slightly noisy with loud music. Despite that, I enjoyed the food very much! I would definitely return!
Great food and nice atmosphere, but one part of the experience left us feeling a bit off. The place was nearly empty when we arrived, and staff seated us at a regular table without mentioning that happy hour pricing only applies at the bar. It wasn’t brought up when we were seated or while ordering. We ordered from the happy hour menu and only found out about the pricing when the full-priced bill came. We would’ve happily sat at the bar if we’d known!
Definitely recommend the espresso martini and the croquet madame/monsieur. My husband loved his martini so much that he was rethinking his regular preferred choice of drink. I had the Earl grey martini. It was good. Very citrusy and tart. However, it didn't exactly taste like Earl Grey. I was happy that they had vegetarian options. My eggs florentine were decent. It was a bit light on the hollandaise sauce and seasoning though. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The service was very nice.
I ordered the eggs Boheme, not impressed but wasn’t bad, the menu does not appeal French to me. I asked for the cocktail of the day they haven’t then the bar atender created one for me which was nice but I didn’t like it that much. I normally don’t like to go to places that only accepts cash. But made an exemption. This is not a French restaurant 😐 but is a nice place if you are in the neighborhood
Echoing the prior review - the Steak Frites was horrible. Ordered Medium and got Medium Rare to Rare. A good portion of the steak was so tough the knife couldn't even cut it. Friend said that its likely because the meat did not rest to room temp? Not sure. French Onion soup was good. Restaurant was not packed at all. Was a bit of an effort to get the waitress and bartender's attention to order, tell them about the steak (wasn't able to) and even get the check. They were just not looking, maybe they are new? They seemed nice though. They did not bother to ask how the food was, otherwise I would have proactively shared but otherwise, I would not go back again.
