Excellent coffee and bagel toasted with butter!! Crispy skin and airy on the inside. Breakfast plate was delicious.

Great place for a casual beer, a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. It's cleanliness is impressive. The barman was kind and funny. Definitely coming back. Also the beer selection is small but outstanding.

Stopped by Little Canal for the first time the other morning. So glad I did. It was crowded so you know it's good. They offer all types of hot beverages; I got a hot apple cider - delicious. It was hard to choose one of the pastries but the apple danish was suggested & was amazing - like a warm apple compote wrapped up in a light croissant

my favorite place in the neighborhood. day or night, the vibes here are nice. couches are comfy and the interior is tastefully done. i recommend coming early morning or just before closing to avoid crowds.

A lovely spot with a great vibe and service. My husband wanted tea / coffee which they don’t serve post 5 pm but they were super accommodating and got him something warm to drink anyway! Will deffs visit if I’m back in the area!

The hottest people go here. Truly a contemporary NYC gem where cool people always seem to be meeting up and hatching plans. The matcha and breakfast bowl are divine. Good service and has a customer bathroom.

got the focaccia and burrata w/ a delish passion fruit cocktail. Great happy hour place, great vibes!

A special location to enjoy a refreshment any time of day. Panoramic windows offer a view to the neighborhood hustle and bustle while relaxing in a neat, clean shop. Prompt, well executed service from behind the counter is pleasant and professional. Small, high quality menu meets the needs of most needing a nutritional boost. The liquid products (coffee, wine and beer) served are excellent quality while the food service is tasty and served with a smile. This is a friendly neighborhood place worth exploring. I'll be a regular.

Great neighborhood spot with the best coffee by far in the area. Indigo and Amy are sweethearts and always provide warm, friendly service. My favorites are the hangover wrap and PB cookie 🥰

K

I come here all the time for coffee, but grabbed drinks last night to kill time before dinner and am kind of kicking myself for not doing it sooner. The music was so great and the chill cafe vibes translate beautifully into chill nighttime vibes. It was crowded, but lots of bar space to squeeze in.

Debbie Turner

Great lattes, iced coffee and sandwiches

S
Sarah McHenry

This is absolutely *the spot* in Two Bridges. It has great food and great drinks from dawn-dusk — excellent lattes/coffee, fabulous “hangover” breakfast wraps, an interesting beer/wine selection, and delicious dinners. No laptops after 4pm, and don’t be surprised if you don’t get a seat at peak hours.

C

Little Canal is the best. Delicious coffee, friendly baristas and clean, beautiful shop. Food is great too - the caesar salad was classic but great. Love all of their options for "to stay" glasses and dishware so you can cut down on single use cups and such.

E
Eva M

This is a very bougy coffee shop because after a certain time, I believe 4pm? you can't use laptops anymore.... 0___0 The iced lattes are AMAZING! It was creamy and just gave that right boost of caffeine. Super yummy.

My favorite cafe - great baristas and excellent people watching. They get the coffee right every time. Love the no computer rule.

One of my favorite spots in the LES for coffee/breakfast. Staff is super friendly (increasingly rare at coffee shops in NYC and elsewhere). Food is very good too, and I love the vegetarian friendly options. This is a great spot to people watch, too.

Tiny little cafe in dimes square. The hangover wrap was SOOO good. Do not sleep on this place.

O
Omri Cohen

Hip coffee shop with great coffee (dark roast) and solid brunch (great roasted potatoes!). Little Canal boasts a casual European x Bohemian vibe and benefits from natural lighting on all sides. It’s open, airy, and enjoyable, especially when the weather is nice. The baristas are chic, cool, and professional. The drip coffee is a medium/dark roast that’s very drinkable, and best served to drink there. Seating can be tight, so get there early! Additional perks: water pitcher on the side. 10/10 giant Monstera in the corner that grows to the ceiling! Great spot for a chat, a hangout, or a read. Coffee score: 4/5. Everything else score: 5/5. Overall score: 4.5/5.

N
Nellie Dumont

Good vibes and food. Only critique is that I had high expectations for the hangover wrap based on the rave reviews. It was good but heavy on the potato and light on the tempeh bacon.

E
Esteban Russo

This place has very healthy options and the taste is phenomenal. I ordered the hangover wrap (as I should have LOL) and loved every bite. The people there were super cool and friendly and as I left Tyler the creator was just hanging out right outside the place. Unreal, not only did I get a great brunch but I saw a celebrity as well. Will definitely be returning.

Very cute place for coffee and casual American brunch. It’s small and typically very busy, but close to a park that you could take food to easily. If you don’t mind sitting shoulder to shoulder, it’s a great spot.

A kind manager or owner here helped me out before a long drive to Delaware. Restaurant is very clean, would definitely dine here next time I’m in town.

Busy cafe on a busy corner where Chinatown meets LES. Great quick service. This sando hit the spot..eggs were perfect and the bun was warm. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Have to go back to have their coffee and after cafe hours drinks.

What a prime location to have a business, as the view from the table is postcard worthy. This a cozy spot for a quick bite. The staff are friendly and the tuna sandwich I had was delicious. Ingredients on point! I'll definitely stop by again, when I'm in the neighborhood.

Y

I don't know how this place got its price rating of 1 $, a $9 egg sandwich and $5 iced coffees sound more like $$$ pricing to me. that said, the egg sandwich was the best I've ever had. the eggs were cooked so delicately, in the right amount of butter, and that they were still almost runny in the sandwich. that and real cheddar cheese juxtaposed against a generous amount of hot peppers. superb

Z

Great little coffee shop. They offer a good variety on veg breakfast and have great coffee.

I LOVE this place, the staff is amazing, the food is sooooo good, and the homemade baked cookies! Need I say more? OK I will, I’m a hairstylist and I love working directly above this cafe. My clients LOVE the cookies I bring up to them during the holiday season!

Nice, small coffee spot. They have a no laptop rule. I didn't see any sign before buying my coffee, but maybe I missed it. If they don't have a sign, they should put one up by where you order so people know before ordering

The atmosphere of the order counter is oppresive... The baristas are aggresively cool and you need to be strong when you order. Act chill. Act aloof. Spontaneous! But don't try that hard. I'll have... ummm... an Americano and a Hangover Wrap. Okay, you said that with an extemporanous air. Good job.

I was out walking and vlogging when I stumbled across this cute little coffee shop. I was hungry, so I decided to stop in for something to eat and a coffee and I’m so glad I did. The whole experience was amazing. The food was a solid 10/10, and my caramel decaf latte was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and they didn’t hesitate at all when I asked to switch my order to go, they were happy to help. I definitely recommend this place!

With its minimalist decor and genuinely friendly service, Little Canal strikes that perfect balance of cool and welcoming. I grabbed a flat white and a breakfast sandwich and sat by the window it was simple, but just right. This café doesn’t try too hard, and that’s its magic. Whether you’re catching up with a friend or flying solo with a book, it’s a space that feels grounded, warm, and quietly stylish.

What a charming and cozy little coffee shop! The coffee was fantastic, and the relaxed vibe made it an ideal place to unwind. Plus, it's super convenient, being right next to a park perfect for picking up a drink to-go and sipping it outdoors if the shop happens to be crowded!

Relaxing spot on the corner of Canal St. Wine, beer, mixed drinks the works with a nice collection of foods to choose from. I enjoyed the plate of mixed olives with fresh peppers and olive oil. To sip on I had the sparkling wine. Great variety of music and the service is very pleasant. Good for couples, small groups, friends, and just to kick back alone to clear your mind after a busy day in the Big city. Highly recommend, enjoy 😊 Cheers 🥂

Coffee shop by day and bar by night. Came for coffee at 6 pm but by that time they only serve alcoholic drinks. The drink list isn’t long but they have decent cocktails. The ambience is nice the music is very cool. I like this place a lot,

Native New Yorker and in my opinion this is the best coffee shop I’ve been to in the city. Coffee is always well-made and it’s so sunny and bustling on weekends. The egg sandwich is dreamy. Love the no laptop policy—everyone here is chit-chatting and having a good time—and a bonus that you can get wine here in the evening when every other place on the block is mobbed. I love you Little Canal 🥹

Went around looking for coffee shops in China town and came across this. Before coming here, I went to several places, but all of them barely had any indoor seating. Glad I found this place on a freezing afternoon. The shop was so cozy and the best part was that they had enough seating considering the location

This quaint cafe has a great selection of drinks and food items. We went for breakfast on the weekend and were lucky enough to snag a table. We got the breakfast sandwich, tofu sandwich (TLT) and matcha latte, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed! This will definitely become a regular spot for us!

So happy to have stumbled onto this gem! We were looking for a coffee shop and found this within walking distance. Turns out they stop serving coffee at a certain time (around 4 I believe) and turn into a bar. While disappointed, the bartender's pleasant and helpful attitude about the situation, as well as the warm vibe and great music encouraged us to stay and order drinks instead (didn't get food). The Blood Orange Mezcal Margarita and the Rose were both excellent. My girlfriend and I just sat and chatted while sipping, taking pictures, and enjoying the music. They have a nice bathroom as well. Coming here will definitely boost your mood. Would definitely recommend!!

I haven’t tried the food but the coffee and tea are lovely and so is the vibe. Very happy with every morning experience at Little Canal would 10/10 recommend. Updated to after going for breakfast, even more I. Love, the hangover wrap is unreal and the lattes are consistently the best lattes I’ve ever had.

Barista thinking "order your damn sandwich now or I will nut you". This guy takes way too long to think which sandwich he wants in front of me. I just ordered 2 cappuccino cuz I am on weight watch :) This is a wonderful spot for morning coffee but the cappuccino needs a bit more work. They are beautiful but lack the kick. The pastry in the front looks delicious and too pretty to even consume. I skip that but settle with a cup of heart shape cappuccino. Price is $3.75. Deserve a visit if you are nearby for a cup.

Good service and coffee, but the hot chocolate is watered down. Cute environment and nice view from the windows. No available plugs though, so this is not an ideal place if you want to work on a device for a long time..

One of our first stops in New York! We got in on the red eye flight and nothing much was open when we got to the hotel. This place was very nice and cozy, made us felt like home right away. Their coffee was fresh and their croissants were soft and delicious. The place fills up fast and early too!

Didn’t get to sample the egg sandwich because I got there at open and the kitchen didn’t open until 8 am-settled on a americano from the cute waitress but better believe I’ll be back! Great location and nice vibe.

Awesome corner hybrid coffee shop by day and bar by night. No spirits here, but large curated beer selection and a few of the usual wine choices. Prices are a bit bougie for simple breakfast foods, but it’s a chill joint that I would return to many times

Little busy corner coffee shop, playing vinyls occasionally, serving great coffee and have good healthy breakfast options. Can be tough to grab a seat, but there is outdoor seating on a rainy day, and a park in front.

Place is fairly Granola, including insisting on masks when that ship has sailed. Food is alright.

It's a great little corner spot for coffee, breakfast, and light bites. I had a delicious almond milk cappuccino with a great aroma and intense flavor. There were plenty of pastries to choose from. I didn’t have breakfast as I came for a post-lunch coffee, but I’d definitely try their food, too. It's always busy when I walk by, but they were plenty of seating spots available around 1pm (on a Wednesday). The staff was friendly, and my coffee came right up. Great neighborhood coffee spot!

Pretty standard cafe with drinks and meals available. Nice place to stop by with friends. Chocolate chip cookie was ok. The whole piece is chewy.

If you're into the "New" New York, then this is the place for you. If i had to take a guess, I would say everyone there is a transplant. I was greeted with "um, the line starts over there" as I was just looking at the menu. My latte and egg sandwich was around $16. The latte was delicious. If authentic New York is more your style I would go to a Bodega and get a BEC with a coffee. If you're into gentrification, this is home.

My daughter and I were excited to visit Little Canal because the workers at Mad Cap coffee in our hometown of Grand Rapids MI told us about it. Whenever I visit her I bring her Mad Cap coffee and now it's available close to her! The shop is cute and the Mad Cap coffee excellent as always, but the service left much to be desired. The guy who waited on us seemed bored to death and wasn't the least bit friendly. At least a smile would have been nice.

A
Action Jackson

1) over priced. $15 for a macha and a Danish 2) cramped as hell 3) Service is questionable But if you're into that new york city put up with semi decent/bad service in a tight spot just to say you went there then this is definitely your place

M
Magnus Westergren

Went for lunch, and thought I'd have a Campari & Soda while awaiting my friend. I was told: "NO. The concept is food and coffee during the day, and a bar at night." What? You have alcoholic beverages you refuse to sell me during the day because it doesn't go with your "concept"? Unless it's some strange requirement applied to their liquor license, this is some inexcusable puritanical beverage fascism! And also, why the nasty plastic cup for water? Is glassware also only allowed after 6 pm? The tuna sandwich was tasty though.

S
Sheree Shu

The folks that work here are rude and have an attitude. A coffee shop that doesn’t offer wifi and yells at you the moment you open a laptop. The food and drinks are good but not worth the hassle. So many other coffee shops nearby that let you sit, eat and work.

Has a sign clearly posted that pets & laptops are not permitted. People were told to put away their laptops but the same energy was not maintained for pets. There was literally a cat sitting in the booths for the entire time I was there. Felt like the “rules” were arbitrarily followed. The cafe felt unhygienic and having a cat close by made my allergies act up especially since most of the seating is in close proximity. Food was pretty good but this dampened my experience.

P
Peter Susanszky

Service was awful and rude, way too many people, coffee was ok

P
Pablo Íñigo Argüelles

7:45. I go in. I order a Coffee and a croissant. I seat in the bar by the window. As soon as I take out my iPad to check my email, the man starts talking to me from behind the bar (so every person in the cafe could listen) and says that by 8:30 this place gets very busy so that I need to leave, me and I my iPad. I didn’t understand what he was saying so I ask him to repeat. In a louder voice he says exactly the same. Folks, het rid of the tables, the chairs and become a Dunkin’ Donuts, that’ll work better. If you want an unfriendly, hipster, flat-croissant, bad-coffee place with a nice collection of vinyls, this is for you.

G
Gareth

The owner called the police and told me to leave and never come back because I got my laptop out to read something after I’d sat down to drink my coffee. I asked why it was a problem while I drank my coffee and unprovoked hostility from the staff followed. What a terrible spirit and way to treat people. Ive lived in this community for years and taken my family and friends to this place for lunch and drinks many times, what an unnecessary and unfriendly atmosphere to create for people and what a waste of police time! The world needs positivity and tolerance in these times, not negativity and hostility.

C
Carolina Richardson

I used to like this place until the barista incorrectly made me a drink I never even ordered and then proceeded to tell me that a flat white is synonymous to a cappuccino. So not only did he refuse to acknowledge that he made my drink wrong, but was rude and pretentious about it too.

A
Abhik Mazumder

Staff can be so cold and rude. Overpriced

F

$ 10 dollars for two iced coffees 😡 I will never buy in this place again, I will file a complaint with consumer protection for the high prices they put on things that are not worth that amount. Paying $ 10 for two iced coffees is consumer rip off. I doubt they charge that price for a coffee in a 5 star restaurant in central Italy.👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

S
Sola Skinner

Overpriced coffee at a spot that makes you feel bad even bothering to try - would get warmer, more hospitable service on board the titanic circa 2025. Sad drop off from when they first opened but will continue to stay in business by fact of being located in dimes sq

B
Brooke

Food is good, but the service is abysmal. I have never had a good experience with the staff here. Always rude. My punch card was full and was offered my free drink and they proceeded to keep me waiting while those behind me in line were served promptly. Beyond frustrating. I left without my drink.

D
Daniel Montes

Always run out of the kovign amnn super early like before 10. Not everyone can come early and they should get more of something so popular. 3 out of 4 times I've come in the last 2 weeks they were sold out. The male employees are dismissive, no eye contact and smugg when I simply asked a question, like they dont want to be bothered. The female staff is so much more inviting and friendlier. You only get so many chances and you're running out.

L
L EL U

Unresponsive baristas, sour coffee, for $3.5, I guess it was justified

K
Katya Ginzburg

Very disappointing experience. The cashier seemed visibly unhappy and in a bad mood from the very beginning. He took the empty cups for our coffee by literally putting his fingers inside the cups. After that, those same cups were filled with coffee all the way to the top. This is a serious hygiene issue and completely unacceptable. This was my first and definitely last visit to this place.
