This is a cute little experimental café that has a wide selection of Southeast Asian flavors integrated with their treats. I loved the kaya waffle, and the flavors from some of the cookies came out very strong as well. The auntie who runs the shop is so lovely and cute!

I've tried other kuih stores in NYC, but this place has the most authentic, homemade taste. The kuih set was delicious - I love how some pieces have that savory saltiness that balances the sweetness and really reminds me of home. The owner was there and mentioned how she makes the kuih herself, and you can really tell it's made with care. At $12 for the set, it's totally worth it for the quality and variety, especially in a city like NYC. This is the real deal! I also spotted someone's Pandan Kaya Toast ice cream and snapped a photo because it looked amazing - definitely trying that next time!

We found this little gem of a bakery on Instagram and fell in love!! The store changes up their menu of what they make each week so be sure to check their Instagram the night before Friday when they post their new weekly offerings. We ordered a custom Pandan Kaya Jam Cake for my mom’s birthday and it was an absolute hit with our guests! We also ordered their Kuih set, which came with Serimuka pandan, Bakar pandan, and Lapis Jagung - all super delicious and not too sweet (huge Asian compliment!). This place has easily become our new favorite Asian bakery in NYC and we will definitely be back for future weekends to try out the other desserts!! :-)

Very nice traditional Malaysian cafe! The lady operates place no nonsense. The Kuih was not overly sweet, which I appreciated. I really enjoyed the pancake which was almost like a crispy crepe, I chose the combination original and Kaya jam flavors. Really delicious snack. Would come back to try other items as well.

This is a lovely and cozy kuih shop in NYC—truly a hidden gem in Chinatown! It’s a family-owned spot, and the owner is incredibly kind and welcoming. She’s exceptionally talented in crafting both savory and sweet treats. I’m a big fan of anything with pandan, and they make the best pandan cake in NYC, along with a fantastic kuih set. The flavors are authentic and not overly sweet, which I really appreciate. The menu changes weekly and is posted on Instagram every Wednesday. You can really feel the care and effort the owner puts into every dish.

Going to kuih has become my routine. I go there every weekend because this place is that good. Getting to know Veronica and her story behind kuih was incredible. Her skills are impressive. If you want pandan in the city then this is the place, the best place for pandan. Malaysian desserts? This is the place. The menu changes every weekend so make sure to check their IG and just go and order the whole menu.

Not enough people are talking about this place… Exceptional Malaysian sweets (and occasional savory dishes!) here for a great price. Their menu changes weekly so check their Instagram for their most updated offerings. I ordered a whole pandan layered cake for my birthday along with some other pastries and everything was light, delicate, not too sweet, unique, and so, so delicious. Would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys an authentic Asian dessert. Will definitely return… I look forward to trying the savory options too! 😊

The best Malaysian food I’ve had outside of Malaysia <3 Nothing too sweet, really strong complex flavors. All the ingredients are really high quality and they make their own sauces. The pandan Kaya toast ice cream special is so yummm with kaya swirls inside. The aunty running the whole place is also so sweet.

The owner is very nice and the desserts are very tasty and refreshing. All handmade with fresh ingredients. Only open 3 days per week from 12-6pm F-Su as per the owner because all are handmade only by the owner herself. Menu change weekly and owner will update through Instagram. Absolutely worth coming. Better come early, some come at 930am to wait for some yearly specialty Hidden gem in Chinatown....

Amazing sweets and considerate owners!! Thanks for making such impressive Asian flavors. I stayed an extra day in NY just to try their foods and it was truly worth it! Definitely will come back next time I visit NYC!!! Take care❤️

We were fans of Kuih after visiting Lady Wong which is one of the trendy Malaysian cafes in East Village. Hence, we would like to explore more spots for southeastern desserts and found Kuih Cafe on Instagram. They open only for three days in a week and posted their weekly menu on their account page so we highly recommend to check out their post in advance. We had their Kuih Set ($11) which included Talam Pandan, Sago Mawar and Ubi Kayu. It tasted pretty good with soft & creamy texture as our expectation. My favorite was the Talam Pandan which was not too sweet with a little salty flavor.

Love this Malaysian dessert/food spot! I’ve been coming for years, recommended by a friend from Malaysia. They have weekly instagram menu updates @kuihcafe. A super hard working couple run this place, bringing NYC a unique slice of Asia.

I love their nasi lemak! The sambal is spicy but not too hot. My husband loves the pandan layer cake and we both enjoy the drink es chendol.

We walked in around 1:30 pm today and a lot of things had already sold out. They have a special menu that they're focusing on for lunar new year so a lot of their normal menu items are not available until after LNY. We got a few cheesecakes (pineapple, Ube, and milo flavor) as well as some butter mochi. They were all delicious! I really loved the texture of the cheesecake - light and perfectly sweet (aka not too sweet). Will definitely be coming back to try their regular items as well!

I always buy the kuih selection here, and it satisfies all my Malaysian dessert cravings. The texture is perfect, the flavor is rich but not too sweet. I made the mistake of trying the kuih at Kopitiam a few blocks away recently when Kuih Cafe was closed, and I definitely will not do that again.

We stopped by Kuih Cafe in Chinatown at 4pm, and were lucky enough to get the kuih set before the crowd rushed in. The owner is a friendly and sweet Malaysian lady — she chatted with us and passionately introduced her cakes. She has moved to New York for decades, bringing the authentic taste of her hometown with nostalgic snacks. They are more than just flavors and appearances, but desserts infused with warmth and care. *Kuih Set $12 To celebrate Lunar New Year, the angku cakes were intricately molded as the shapes of goldfish and lucky bag, symbolizing good luck and prosperity. Angku kuih is a steamed cake made from glutinous rice flour and filled with mung bean fillings. The steam cassava with palm sugar sago and shredded coconut was an interesting combo of flavors that I’ve never heard of. I truly enjoyed the soft chewy texture and subtle sweetness of every single bite.

A cure for homesickness! Their Nasi Lemak satisfies that craving for Malaysian food, it’s delicious and well priced. Also great selection of sweets and desserts. Note that the shop is quite small and has only 2-3 bar seats available.

Tiny storefront on a quiet street serving traditional Malaysian meals and sweets to go during the weekends. Weekly offerings vary but everything is fair priced and delicious, including traditional bite size mochi desserts with traditional flavors and fillings, burnt cheesecake in many flavors (incl. durian) and ube/padan layered cakes. They are chewy, not overly sweet and subtle in flavors. Highly recommend trying everything.

Our initial dinner led to making plans for another visit soon. The employees were remarkably approachable and offered assistance. I find myself regularly at this restaurant. Nothing out of place. Our entire meal was tasty!! I'm looking forward to returning!

One of the true gems of Chinatown. If you love artistic and delicious baked goods then make the trip and order one of everything. The green tea cookie I had recently was god-tier with the perfect level of green tea and a mochi center.

Happened here by chance. Was looking for curry chicken instead found $13 Nasi Lemak Pandan = coconut flavored rice with anchovies. Pretty Damn good 👍. $8 Ice Chendol was all the rage ⚡️. Ideal to combat the summer heat. This hole in the wall is quite busy. Outdoor seating for 6 people. It appears the ice drinks & desserts here are a big hit 💥💥

Visited Kuih Cafe on a recommendation to try their Apam Balik and had high expectations. The cafe is very small, with only three indoor seats (one by the trashcan) and about four seats outside. The staff, likely the owner, was friendly and suggested dining in for the best Apam Balik experience. Priced at $12 and made fresh to order, it was sweet with brown sugar and peanuts, a nice combination. However, the pandan-flavored cream was disappointing—too watery and sloppy. While it might appeal to children and teenagers, it's not as enjoyable for mature taste buds.
