Opinions de Manhattan Indian Flavor Albee Square
I ate here recently with my mother. It’s a charming restaurant on the corner of 18th street and 2nd Avenue. The food was delicious. My Lamb Saag was the perfect level of medium spicy that I requested. My mother loved her dish of mild buttered chicken. The Somosa was delicious and the spicy food was cooled by the Mango Lhassi. Of you’re in this neighborhood and looking for a delicious and reasonably priced restaurant I’d recommend eating here.
Great Indian restaurant! Usually I don't order the vindaloo because it's too spicy, but here it was just perfectly spicy. The saag paneer was really good and so was the chicken tikka masala. Very recommended!
Wow. This place is really amazing. The staff so nice and service was great. Our food was amazing. We got the chicken tikka masala, onion naan, and pakora. Delicious!!!! I can reiterate enough how nice the staff was to us. He was so friendly and made our meal very enjoyable. Thanks!
I’m a NYC cop who’s favorite lunch time spot is Manhattan Indian Flavor. It’s a good, old-fashioned, family restaurant. The owners are one of the most warm, friendly, and inviting people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. They always check to make sure our food is to our liking, at just the right amount of times. The food is tasteful and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is nice. Tables and bathrooms are clean. I recommend if you have not already stopped by for lunch or dinner, do so. They close for a short time at 3pm to clean, then reopen a hour or so later.
Excellent Restaurant. 1. It is very clean and well kept. 2. Very attentive to details and it is authentic Indian Food. The flavors and spices . We enjoyed our time and Spoke with Riaz and learned a lot.
I've eaten here multiple times. My go to premium Indian place. Some of the best food I've had ever, Period. proportion are good, and staff is nice. Chicken Tikka masala, and chicken byrani is what i recommend for those who dont know indian food.
This place is very welcoming and food and service was excellent. We were came in lunch time and they have Lunch special too but we ordered from regular menu lamb korma, Shrimp Karahi and Garlic & cheese naan , the taste was outstanding . owner is very friendly , we recommended this place for romantic dinner .we will be back again,
Delicious fish tikka. Enjoyed my dish at the restaurant! Courteous staff. I arrived at the place close to their closing time but they were really patient with me.

I’m so addicted to this place. We order from here at least 2x a week. Their lamb kebabs, tandoori chicken, fish curry - well, basically everything- is so delicious 😭 such a lowkey gem. Don’t sleep on this spot!!
I ordered takeout from here and it was absolutely delicious. The workers were incredibly friendly on the phone and provided exceptional service.
Food, atmosphere, and service were excellent. Visiting from out of town. A local walked in to use the restroom and was rightfully denied. He then posted a fake review of all 1s earlier tonight. Ignore that review. This place was very good.
Amazing! Where do I start? The food was fantastic! I had the tandoori chicken and my fiance had goat curry. The serving sizes of both dishes were huge and the pricing was great. I'd recommend this spot to anyone looking for good Indian food. Normally I post pictures but it looked so good I forgot to take them!
Great Indian food! We always bring friends here as the food is so amazing. The restaurant will adjust the food to mild/moderate/spicy according to your wishes. The beef karahi gosht, palak and chili chicken appetizer are to die for. The naan is perfectly cooked. Will be coming back here many, many times.
A step above the typical NYC Indian food, but no more expensive. Everything freshly prepared, nuanced flavors, arrived hot from delivery. One of the best of the many casual Indian kitchens in this part of town. Sarson ka saag (piquant greens) was an exceptional dish you don’t see often.
I ordered here before they closed. The staff was very nice and pleasant. I returned right after leaving with my order to get some more of the items ordered and the person who helped me (I Believe to be possibly the owner or manager) was extremely nice and helpful. The rice pudding (kheer) and rasmali were very good and satisfying. I have tried many restaurants in the city and I have to say this one tops my list. I would definitely order from here again whenever I return to the city. I would recommend trying this restaurant as the food was very good as well as the service. Thanks.

Best North Indian food in NYC by far. It’s no frills but the food is unmatched in flavor

Decent indian restaurant! I ordered Chicken Takka Massala (?) I liked it!! But the chicken was quite so dry for me...except for the chicken, the curry was good. I chose medium spiciness for my curry. Also, I got Mango Lassi, too. I think Lassi taste is depending on restaurant s. This Mango Lassi was more sweet than sour flavor. But it was good!! I got here during lunch special time. I thought I had to choose either rice or Nan, the bread. But those two will come when you order!

Their food is delicious. Their manager is sweaty and rude. There was a misunderstanding regarding my pickup order and instead of listening and understanding, the manager escalated the situation to where I had to physically back up to create space. Once the guy finally understood what was going on, he ran into the kitchen never to be seen again and without an apology. Don’t eat here for service and the food doesn’t make it worth it.

I had been looking for a good restaurant with full Halal menu for my team’s end of the year dinner and this restaurant is the closest one with everything all Halal Menu nearby. I must say that they definitely need some work to fix the decor and lighting as it was very dull. There is a need of some training as well for the waiter as he didn’t quite understand of our ask at the first time. The freshness and quality of the food was outstanding. The portion size is a lot less compared to the price tag. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant based on the portion size, ambiance and service.

Dal Makhni is India’s signature dish — but what arrived here was nothing short of a culinary crime scene. A baffling mix of yellow and black lentils with random Rajma thrown in, cooked in a “unique” way that defies human understanding. Let me be clear: by no standards on this planet is this Dal Makhni. I asked for HOT spice level and got… dessert?? A bizarrely sweet dal that left me wondering if they confused “spicy” with “sugary.” The rice? Weapon-grade hard. I nearly broke a tooth trying to crack them — clearly designed for people with titanium jaws and cast-iron stomachs. And the naan? Good luck. It was like chewing through a piece of hardened leather; I’m pretty sure medieval shields were softer. Honestly, this feels slightly less than a conspiracy against Indian food — more like a full-blown attack. What a shocking waste of time, money, and calories. If they want to keep serving “Indian food,” someone on their team urgently needs to get on a plane to India and take notes. Completely, utterly disappointed.
Went there for dinner. We were seated at 7:20 pm. 7:50 pm the appetizers arrive. The chaat was just ok. Not anything outstanding. Then we wait another 10 mins. At 8:03 pm, no main course. The response we got was “Oh the food is coming. Maybe another 20 mins.” My wife asked why is it taking so long. The gentleman seemed annoyed and said “oh are you in a rush?” We decided to leave and cancel the order. One hour to cook two dishes seems ridiculous.
