For the lunch crowd that's price sensitive and/or time sensitive, you really can't beat this place. They have an incredibly efficient process where you're getting a fresh $6.25 pita in minutes that's straight out of the oven. For $8.75 you can get a platter that will keep you going all day with a delicious combination of the typical Greek fare. For vegetarians and meat eaters alike, I highly suggest the Zuchini fritters which I think are the best pita fill I've ever eaten and could really give falafel a run for its money. It's cheap, fast, and delicious so what more could you ask for?
Kinda steep not used to paying so much ..but let me tell u well worth it ...I got the lamb n beef pita .. it was deliciously good the sauce great... the meat flavorful.. fresh ingredients.. grab a pita and enjoy ..
My company just moved to 28 Liberty so i thought I'd try it. GRAND SLAM!!! I was totally impressed from the ease of ordering online to the quality taste and portion size!!!! YUMMYYYYYY Probably the best greek food i've had in NYC 1. SLICED CHICKEN PLATE HAD HUGE LEMON ROASTED POTATOES, PITA BREAD, DELICIOUS GRILLED CHICKEN, SALAD AND TZAZIKI SAUCE. BURSTING WITH FLAVOR AND FRESHNESS. I shouldn't have ordered it for lunch cuz they gave me so much food it was more for a dinner. I WILL BE BACK OFTEN.. KEITH R Date of visit: August 2021
Made my first order from there today and It’s a decent place with delicious food. They’re fast when it comes to preparing online orders. I definitely suggest people to give it a try!
This place is great! The food is authentic and delicious, they've got a good selection of Greek foods from full meals to smaller desserts, and even a design your own smoothie station. The staff is always kind and helpful. The prices are not crazy like most other places in this area. It's very clean inside. One of my favourites in downtown New York City!
Great food. I ordered the mixed grill (45$) for my whole family (4 people) and we love it. Chicken souvlaki was flavourfull, lamb and beef was ok and the side (potato) great. The portion was so big and we give it to women on the street
Food is really high quality, delivery is fast - this is my go-to lunch (or quick dinner) place in NY. Always delivered in less than 25 mins, portion size is good, prices are reasonable esp. considering the quality. Can thoroughly recommend the chicken souvlaki plate with a side of lemon potatoes
I really like this cafe. Just simple ingredients the way Mediterranean food should be. I love their vegan pita sandwich. So fresh and tasty. You get a big pita sandwich with their homemade falafel is good. I’ve eaten at the other surrounding Mediterranean places and they don’t taste the same. They’re also a bit overpriced. $10 for a good falafel sandwich that’s both filling and good. Can’t beat that in FiDi.
Always amazing and fresh! Food is seasoned well and consistent. I've been eating here since 2012. It's 2023 and the food is still great!
The food platter that I ordered was sooo good. I got the zucchini fritters with fries, pita bread, salad and tzaziki. I thought the portion was a good size but I would have preferred more than 3 fritters. The fritters were fried perfectly and the home cut fries were crispy. Everything tasted super fresh. The service was good, but there's limited seating there. There a credit card charge. I enjoyed my food and I plan to come back again. This is my new lunch spot.
Delicious, quick and easy power lunch in the area. Been here a few times now and love it every time Perfect for the quick power lunch. Those Greek meats make great Brain food and super filling for less than $16
Pita Press is our go to for the Family Meal sets for gatherings. The price and the quantity go a long way. The salads are always looking so fresh and the baklava is always a treat to eat. The pitas are delicious at Pita Press. Fluffy. Lightly seared. Gyro pitas. Not typical pitas pockets I buy in grocery stores, but gyro bread. Haloumi Cheese is the least descriptive item on the menu, but it comes with grilled zucchini, red bell peppers and tomato wedges. The sauce appears to be a balsamic vinaigrette reduction and pairs well with the fried cheese. This cheese has a mild flavor and a texture that squeaks between your teeth. I love the combo of sauce, grilled veggies and squeaky cheese so much, I will go out of my way to order just a side of this cheese and make it a meal for myself.
Delicious Greek food that feels like home cooked meals. We got the cod pita and vegetarian pita along with Greek Fries, favs beans, and cauliflower sides. All were super yummy and would recommend. I look forward to trying the smoothies and other items
This place saves me a trip to Astoria! Authentic dishes and on point flavors. Love that they have biftek for when I need a protein fix without lambie. Health hack: it’s all the flavor of a burger without the extra carbs of a bun, fat of cheese and bacon and sauces. Have gotten takeout twice since NY pause, both times food was hot and flavorful. Would like to try salad with biftek but Ritual app doesn’t give that option. Nice bench area next door to rest or eat your pita. I took mine home so I could add my extra sauces and herbs.
The tomato mint fritters and zucchini feta fritters are top notch. They are like falafels on steroids. I never seen them anywhere else in the city. Pita press also has great fresh cut french fries.
I ordered takeout and I ordered half rotisserie chicken with salad and hand cut fries (comes with pita bread). Value: it will will feel you up but you'll pay least $11. Taste: Great taste and soft to your taste buds. It's not too salty or too bland just right. Portion size: Above average Staff: Helpful and friendly Location: Somewhat hidden. It can be tempting to go to Chipotle, Roti or Dos Toros. I will definitely return for more.
Their food is really delicious! We've tried the chicken and beef kebabs and I highly recommend it both!
Very fast service! I got the chicken souvlaki plate and the chicken is juicy and not dry.
The cashier was super nice, good service and food is fresh and delicious

Saba's at Pita Press is absolutely fantastic! From the moment I walked in (or in my case, reached out to start our collaboration), Saba has been incredibly professional, responsive, and a true pleasure to work with. She handled everything with such warmth and attention to detail during a busy time of year — even respecting the holiday season while keeping things moving smoothly. The signed agreement process was seamless, and I'm genuinely excited to kick off our new partnership in 2026. If you're looking for someone reliable, kind, and who truly cares about building great relationships, Saba at Pita Press is the real deal. Highly recommend — can't wait for what's next! Thanks again, Saba — here's to an amazing 2026! Mike
Pita Press is truly a hidden gem. This hole-in-the-wall spot delivers incredibly high-quality food that tastes fresh every single time. Everything is made to order, and the open kitchen lets you watch your meal being prepared — which adds to the experience and the trust in the quality of the food. The menu is very diet-friendly with excellent vegetarian and vegan options, and they also offer delicious cod, lamb, chicken, and beef for those who want protein-packed meals. No matter what you choose, the ingredients are fresh, the portions are satisfying, and the flavors are consistently on point. If you’re looking for a quick, healthy, and delicious meal, Pita Press is absolutely worth the visit.

Hidden lil spot on cedar Street, behind the Federal Building. This is a great spot if you want some tasty Greek food that fits in your hand. I got the chicken pita sandwich. It tasted great I was able to eat it while walking back to work and I enjoyed it enough to write this review.
Fig and goat cheese salad was fantastic, however the chicken that I added ($3 extra) was very over cooked and detracted from an otherwise incredibly fresh mixed salad. The hot pita was a great touch though
I usually get the lamb and beef platter. Runs about 12 bucks with tax. They give you a good quantity of meat. It's very tasty. The Greek sauce is high quality and the pitas taste good. It's a little pricey overall so I deduct one star.
A little pricey, but nothing out of the average NYC pricing - portions are pretty generous, loads of feta on the greek fries, which I loved & the chicken souvlaki platter was tasty, not super authentic, but enough to satisfy the craving. We ordered delivery and food came prompt & neatly.
You have to know what you're getting going in here. The food tastes amazing, but this is a chain restaurant. Are the prices a little high compared to the Greek food truck Little Gussys a few streets down? Yes, but this isn't a food truck and I'm willing to pay a little premium for that. Portions are well sized and the people serving the food are nice. It's a small place but they have two outdoor tables if you want to eat there. If you want Greek when you're in FiDi this is definitely a place to stop by.
This is a cost effective place when you stay in a hotel near Wall Street on the weekend. Not many other nearby options. The gyro and souvlaki were fresh and tasty. The fries are homemade delicious. Understand this not your average processed pressed lamb and beef, but fresher with a different spice.
The food came relatively quickly and tasted good. However the images would have you believe there was seating to dine in. There were no seats that you could eat on the bar counter tops. Other than standing to eat at the counters the food was not bad. It seems more of a to go place. The beef and lamb were good and flavorful not dry or too oily. The cauliflower side was really good. Very filling. The spinach pie was also different then others for the doughy texture but it wasn't bad at all.
Today a friend and I tried Pita Press for the first time. I am no expert on Greek food by any means so this is just the opinion of someone who loves food! The staff was super friendly and kind. They took the time to explain some of the differences in the chicken dishes. I had the chicken souvlaki plate with the home cut fries. The chicken portion could have been a bit more generous (4-chunks) but had the nice flavors from the grill. The fries were clearly handcut by the variety of shapes and we're good. The salad was my least favorite part and was a bit soggy. It was a bit pricey but def comparable to other lunch prices in the area. We will def be back though! Overall it was a winner!

Nice Greek cuisine place to sit in or grab food to go. Offer free lemony water for customers.
The food is good but they need to work out their relationship with Seamless. Everytime we've ordered from them it's been 30-40 mins after the latest promised time for delivery. When we call to ask about the order they say "the person is on their way give them 2-3 minutes." 2-3 minutes has long passed. It should have been delivered 30 minutes prior. Still waiting....
Go here often for lunch. Pretty standard Greek lunch spot. Chicken souvlaki is a little dry and the rice is unseasoned, but everything else is decent. A tad bit overpriced, but it's the financial district, and to be fair the plates are actually pretty big.
I found portions very small for the price. At least come with a side then. Chicken pita was good though thus the 3/5.
Today was my second time ordering from this place. The cod pita that I got last time was surprisingly good, which was why I decided to come back. The chicken souvlaki pita I got today, however, needed a lot more work. While the pita was delicious, the chicken was stiff and bland, and the veggies in it felt more like sad sticks one would have on the side than a part of the wrap. I was disappointed given the positive impression I had on my first visit. I wished the food quality were more consistent.
I decided to try another place than Taim, so stopped in here. A lamb & been pita cost about $17. It was mediocre- used Sysco items- nothing special. There were only two other people there; the wait time was comparable to Taim. I would’ve preferred spending my $ (and tastebuds) elsewhere.
Pricey for the portion. Very quick service though
Went for lunch & got a chicken sandwich. I asked for shawarma but they only have souvlaki or “rotisserie”. I got the rotisserie and it was def not a shawarma. Pretty mid level. That’s gonna be a first and last for me.
Flavor is great, but the portions are tiny for the price. 5 small chunks of chicken isn't filling or satisfying. Also, a tiny glass 7.8 oz drink is 5$??

It was not good, I threw it away, the only thing I kept was the baklava and I gave it to my mom because she likes baklava, she didnt eat it yet….the fava bean dip is the most disgusting thing I ate, I took one bite and threw the whole things away……I was so disappointed, whoever came up with that, omgggg, that was so nasty. I love Greek food….ima stick to my regular spot in bay ridge. Just gross.
Food is basically what you’d get at a street cart but three time the price. Wouldn’t come here again
Chicken Gyros is fairly bland. Tzatiki isn’t very authentic, not much cucumber. Pita is oddly salty. Meat is plain and lacking flavour. Overall not impressed. GRK is a better option and pretty much the same price.
Horiatiki is supposed to be tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, onion and feta. My $20+ salad was all shredded lettuce with 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half. Waste of money.
Food is expensive but bland. I had to salt and pepper it like crazy. The presentation is great however. The food looks and tastes very fresh. I guess it's supposed to be great for your health. If I were to look past the expensive side because it is after all in the financial district then I'd still say it's tasteless, bland and dry. I had the lamb dish and it's one of those times I felt I want to just so eating and leave. Just leave my plate there and walk away.
I have been a customer for more than one year. I like the food, there are some vegetarian options. We usually order to home. Each time we make an order, we put a comment "no plastic cutlery" - we simply don't use it. But nobody reeds comments! look at the picture I've included - that much plastic from only ONE order! it is terrible! Twice I collected plastic cutlery and returned full paper bag of cutlery to the restaurant. They accepted it and assured me that my concern of wasted unnecessary plastic will be addressed. Nothing has changed since then. Now I am thinking to stop order anything from Pita Press because they are not environmentally minded service and don't read customers comments. Please stop include plastic cutlery if customers ask to do so!

Sadly this place continues to disappoint even after giving several retries. Meats are over cooked and fatty. Breads are low quality. Sauces are near vacant. Price is high and service is apathetic. I literally threw my last order in the garbage after one bite. Such a shame.
$15 for the most mediocre lamb gyro. Very small. Unseasoned and over cooked meat. The cook wasn't wearing gloves and was blowing on the food when there was some flame on the grill - gross, dude.
Pita press, I’m not impressed. I ordered the lamb and beef plate, the meat was in small strips, very dry, small portions. It was all beef and no lamb. I was better off going to the street carts than this place. Then I asked for a little more tzatziki’s sauce and they charge me for a tiny cup for $1.99. Place is very high priced and the food was awful.
My watermelon feta salad that costs $16 is mostly arugula with 5 pieces of watermelon. This is ridiculous.
