4.16.21- It was not like what I expected, I heard about them so much but the food wasn’t that good. The server was great and totally tip her $50 for worthless $160 food. The steaks were just horrible, no taste to it. Overrated place that needs their chefs to step up or change their chefs. Probably not going back there again. 4-13-2024: a visit after almost 3 year, quality is much much better. Honestly, the steak can still be little better. I asked for med-well and got a med. The service is great but there is room for little improvement.

One of the tastiest halal food I’ve had in New York. I loved their Steak and French fries.Mashroom gravy was the best! One thing they can improve is the heating system. Otherwise everything is perfect. Will go there very soon.

Food was good, I liked the tenders and the onion rings. Although we got two steaks the same way (medium well) - one of them was great, very flavorful, but the other one was more raw, and had a raw-meat aftertaste, so no one at our table could really eat it. Wish that inconsistency did not happen. Everyone loved the loaded nachos. The drinks were great, absolutely loved the virgin margaritas. A good halal place. Good seating for our party and with kids. Super pricey for the amount of food so just go in with wallets ready.

What happened to this place? It used to be busy, organized, and overall much better. Now it honestly looks run-down. The “bar” area has basically become a storage shelf for glasses and random items, and there are stacks of paperwork and books piled near the fireplace in the middle of the restaurant. Every TV is playing something different. The whole place just feels messy and unkempt. To be fair, I still liked the meal, but even the cups seemed dirty. Both the inside and outside of the glass felt rough, like something was stuck on it. Not a great start, but we ignored it. The wings had good flavor but were small and dry—not exactly steakhouse-level quality. The poutine was essentially seasoned Restaurant Depot fries topped with gravy and melted mozzarella. That is not poutine. Real poutine uses cheese curds. If you’re going to add an item to the menu, at least research what it actually is. What you’re serving is cheesy fries with gravy. For what it *really* is, it tasted fine, but it’s still not poutine. I ordered a porterhouse steak. They list **two** prices: a lower one on the board inside the restaurant, and a higher one on the printed menu. And of course, the one you get charged is the higher menu price. The steak itself tasted great, though a bit unevenly cooked—some bites were leaning more toward medium than medium-well. I don’t like my steak still moo’ing when I cut into it. And I don’t play that “it’s not blood, it’s myoglobin” crap. It came with a very small side of mashed potatoes. Honestly, at over $60, you should include at least two small sides. The steak prices match actual steakhouse pricing, so it’s not like they’re cheaper and can justify giving less. My wife ordered the Volcano Burger for $17. It was okay—nothing special and definitely not worth the price. My mango mojito used to taste much better; this one fell flat. The piña colada tasted watered down. Our total was about $130, plus an automatic $17 gratuity, bringing it to around $150. Auto-gratuity has become one of the most frustrating parts of dining in the U.S. We’re basically paying someone extra to do the job they should already be getting paid for by the restaurant. The automatic tip was higher than the price of the burger. For what? The server took our order and brought the food—nothing above and beyond. Realistically, I would’ve tipped around $12 instead of $17. In this economy, every dollar matters, and now I have to consider whether my kids get their own entrée (instead of sharing with us) or whether I should save that money for the automatic tip - which can be the cost of another entire entrée it self. The food got the job done—I was craving steak—but the experience wasn’t impressive. The place feels messy and a bit questionable in cleanliness. Mediocre overall. I didn't hate it. Also, if the owner is going to reply to this and try to justify the automatic tipping. Please also let us know if you pay your workers the minimum wage or something else a lot less that automatic tipping is necessary for them to earn a reasonable living. Because if you do pay them a minimum wage, there is not need to auto tip your customers. Thats their entire job as a server - they get compensated for their work as it is.

We had dinner at Sam’s Steak, and it was an average experience. The food was okay—nothing particularly special, but not bad either. Some dishes lacked flavor, and the quality didn’t quite match the price. The service was a bit slow. We had to wait longer than expected for orders and refills. The atmosphere was decent, but it didn’t stand out. While the setting was comfortable, it lacked a unique vibe that would make me want to come back. Overall, it’s not a terrible place, but there are definitely better options for the price.

The food was good, so I gave the waiter a cash tip as appreciation, but when I came home I was that I was charged on my credit with the tip money as well. Not appreciated!

I went this restaurant many time with my wife and with my friends. I really love the food there. I will go often if the service is as good as the food. Since there is not lots of halal steak restaurant to choose I came here. I order filet mignon, ribeye steak, shrimp fry and fries. I asked the waiter to give me the fries with the steak so I can have with my steak. Same thing happens several time. Always served fired with my appetizer. This time I had write this, so unfortunate. I mean no harm but make aware to this restaurant owner. Please have someone to take care of this place. A very well organized waiter.

I visited Sam’s Steak & Grill and was extremely disappointed. The restaurant was freezing… so cold that the few people inside were wearing their coats. When I asked the waiter about it, he mentioned some electric heaters were on, but it didn’t make any difference. Many items on the menu, including drinks, were unavailable, and I overheard other tables running into the same issue. I asked for a plastic fork with my meal, and the waiter disappeared for over five minutes, only to come back saying they didn’t have any. Keep in mind, there were only two tables dining when I was there. The food itself was underwhelming. The steak was tough, everything was lukewarm, and overall it just felt like a waste of money. The place had no atmosphere, no vibe, and I would not return.

We were there last night with our kids . The owner of this restaurant was very rude. We waited there more than an hour. As we were waiting a bunch of people came and the owner (who seemed to be very religious) didn't care about us and instead rushed and made space for those 15 people. Our toddlers were wining and this man didn't seem to care. If we had another option after that long wait we would go but I didn't want to take a chance since the kids were hungry. The waiter also mentioned to the owner that we were waiting for an hour before the other party showed up but I guess that greedy owner was worried about making more money. He made the waiter seat the bigger party first. Incredibly rude and very greedy. They never apologized to us. I just wonder being so religious you should also have some ethics!

The waiters were really disrespectful after me and my family have been waiting for the food for more than a hour! TWO families came after us and we ordered before them and their food came before us. On top of that I seen that the mustard is expired 🤣🤣.

Food was average. But the service was worst. I believe a fast food place can do better customer service than that. Just a person taking order and dropping food on table . He never came to table to ask how’s everything. Wanted to get water that never received. Wanted order more drinks but server never came to table. So just asked for bill and leave. Never coming back .
