I don’t normally write reviews, however I was very pleased with this place! It was open at 1 AM and the staff were extremely friendly. His name is Jose or Josue, guy with glasses. Ask for him! He even went through the menu with me and asked me about my allergies ( I have a nut allergy). The food was amazing and flavorful. Wish I had asked for the chef’s name! Han Dynasty is amazing!
We had a family party for 18 people from age 6 to 83 in the back of this restaurant and everyone had a blast. Thanks to staff Jack, Jose and Brianna for taking care of all the details and making sure that everyone got everything they needed. All the guests loved the food. The restaurant planned a tasting menu for us and accommodated our request to tone down the spice. Each and every of the many dishes was outstanding. All the details from serving out the wine to cutting up and serving out a cake we brought were handled expertly. Thank you "handynasty."
great hustle from the crew, they were super attentive towards us. food was great :) would come again
Had dumplings 1 day and shrimp lo mein the next. Fantastic, great cocktails and beer. Best staff ever. Visitors from Boston will be back next year!
Great food, well priced, came out quickly, waiter was very nice
I usually go to the one in LIC but the food was good here too, service was very nice. pleasantly surprised to see one of the old Long Island city workers, Jonathan now working here. The Drypot Beef was very flavorful same quality if not better than LIC
10/10! I loved all the servers (I think their names were Karen and Jose?). You could tell they genuinely enjoy each other's company while they work and it reflects through their friendly customer service. I'll def be returning. Dan Dan Noodles are so hard to find. Perfect level of spice. I'll definitely be returning--plus the location is really cute and convenient.
Love this place! I come here all the time with friends. You can't go wrong with their food, dry pot is a popular dish and is shareable among friends. Any noodle dish is great and filling, their soups are a bit on the oiler side but are still yummy. Be warned, their spicy is spicy! But I love it. Another great thing is the service. The food comes out at a decent time and waiters/waitresses are always so kind. My favorite waiter is José! Always makes my day with his kindness. The place's decor is also really nice, I love the colors and lights. You'll have a great time here!
I love Han Dynasty. Food is consistently good, flavorful. I love that you can get it delivered, but the restaurant is really fun to sit in if you get the chance. Staff was really helpful and went the extra mile when there was a mistake put in to the system (via delivery platform) and corrected it and resent!
I saw that Han Dynasty had a happy hour at the bar so I decided to stop in while I waited for my friend and the bartender Christian was amazing he really walked me through the menu and all the offerings and helped me pick a cocktail apart from that he was so personable and we had great conversation… the server Chloe was also so sweet and they all went above and beyond food was amazing and drinks too I will be visiting again
Food was delicious and really hit the spot after a long day. What was better than the food was the service from when I walked in.
Food was great and service was excellent. Matthew Cai was really helpful. Everyone should check this place out.
Food is good and worth the price! I ordered the beef noodles which came in at $17 per serving. I was surprised to see how large the bowl was, so much so that I couldn't finish and I had a show at the paramount right after so I couldnt pack it up with me. The staff was very kind though. They told me that if they were open by the time my show was over, they'd give me some more free of charge. Y'all calmed my travel nerves a bit and made me feel welcome in brooklyn 🤘
That asian kid at the window was super kind and helpful. I had a great experience would come again. Food is outstanding!
One of my favorite restaurants in Brooklyn, and my favorite Chinese restaurant period. I have gone here 3 times in the last 2 weeks. The service is always top tier, and the food is delicious. Will be returning soon
Han Dynasty Brooklyn still lives rent free in my head. Visited about a month ago and I still think about the amazing experience we had dining here. So good, we went twice during our short 7-day trip to NYC. Welcoming atmosphere, incredible staff, delicious food. Manager Dan was very sweet, attentive, warm, and ensured we had the best time. From the cocktails, to the dry pots, spicy pepper wings, dan dan noodles, I find myself craving Han Dynasty all the way from Montreal. 10/10 would recommend this place. It has now become a staple for me for all my future visits back to NYC.
The food was great and portions generous. I wanted to try the chili oil dishes and i had the wonton and dumpling followed by the dry pot pork. We had trouble finding it since we did not know it is I the basement of the Dekalb market hall. They have a huge bar with s good choice of beers.
Great value for (mostly) authentic Chinese food. Staff is organized & attentive, food comes out quickly, menu has tons of options. Highly recommend the scallion pancake, Taiwanese sausage appetizer, 3 pepper beef slices. Lomein was good but too sweet. Been to other locations in Manhattan and this restaurant is consistently good👌🏼 always
We were treated to lunch by our oldest child and son-in-law. Food was delicious but price was higher than I expected. However, the meal (13 items) arrived promptly, and the personnel was excellent. We placed orders for deep-fried shrimp, meat, fish, dumplings, general Han chicken, Dan-Dan noodles, pea shoot tips, and egg plants. Each dish was prepared with care. It was a wonderful experience all around, and the eight of us departed feeling wonderful.
My wife and I love this Chinese fusion restaurant happily calling the basement of one of our favorite shopping places in Brooklyn its home, its full bar with a wide variety of beers/cocktails, their selection of appetizers and entrees, the engaging staff, and the overall vibe of the joint (my wife's not too big on brightly lit places, which luckily, this place isn't). There's also a window for takeouts. Definitely a new favorite!
OMG truly authentic Chinese food that is fresh and tasty! I visited this place for lunch on Friday afternoon before lunch was done I knew I would be back very soon. Saturday afternoon I visited with my fiancé for a late lunch and the food once again did not disappoint. The serving sizes are large. One entree is enough to feed two people comfortably. We ordered two entrees and one appetizer there was so much food left over! So be mindful of the size when ordering. The food was delicious so tasteful and delicious. Served fresh, hot and fast you can’t miss this place! It was just an all round great experience! We ordered dumplings in hot oil… delicious, cumin chicken….. delicious….. garlic sauce chicken… delicious. Asa side we ordered their Bok Choy with mushrooms this dish was good but not as good as the others. Next time we will definitely skip this side dish. The staff each time we visited were friendly and very good at their jobs. We have absolutely no complaints and we will definitely be back soon
If you have a tolerance for spicy food, I highly recommend trying their Dry Pepper Fried Chicken. The batter is crispy from triple frying and is wonderfully well-seasoned. The ratio of chicken to batter is also just right. What's impressive is that even when I had it cold the next day, it still tasted delicious. They also serve warm tea before your meal, which really helps build your appetite. This restaurant is conveniently located, so grabbing a meal here before grocery shopping at Target or Trader Joe's is a great idea.
If you have a chance to come here on the first Tuesday of every month, they have a 15 course tasting menu that is phenomenal. Otherwise, if you come here on any other day, you will still leave more than satisfied. Always an incredible experience here. Not only is the food delicious, but the service is speedy quick and excellent. I highly recommend the Dan noodles, the dry pot, and the eggplant in garlic sauce. That will nicely feed a group of 3!
For Sichuan food with friends, this is a great spot to hit. Food wasn’t too spicy and portions are not Chinatown portions but reasonable for the price. All the items we order were good to my standards, but many dishes were on the sweeter side and definitely not as oily. Recommend going in a party of 4 or more to get more variety in the dishes you can order. Wait staff was nice and all entrees come with rice. Happy hour is only at the bar.
The place made me felt like I went back in the times. The place was superrr cooollll. They had a Photo Booth next to it, the photos came out superr cutee. Drumrrrooolllll to the one and only chili oil dumplings. It was one of best dumplings ever. I doubted if it would taste good but it was straight up a chef’s kiss. The Thai tea was a ride to heaven. The structure of the noodles was perfect, the chicken felt fresh and was tasty. They gave a complimentary tea, it felt refreshing.
If you’re looking to get full for a fair price, this is the spot. Definitely felt way too full after the meal but worth the discomfort. Nice place in a busy area and the Food comes out quick. There’s no better feeling than getting the food minutes after ordering, Especially when the place is packed. Ordered the garlic sauce entree with chicken, Dan Dan noodles, wontons in chili oil, and bok choy with mushroom. All were quite delicious. Something we ordered came with rice and I’ve never gotten this much rice for two people. Overall, nothing to dislike. I will definitely be coming back
I thought the food was pretty good. I had the hot sauce style beef, dan dan noodles, and tofu (I don't remember which particular dish the tofu was), but it was the most I ever enjoyed tofu in a restaurant. The dan dan noodles and hot sauce style beef were good too. The beef wasn't really spicy, but it wasn't til I was almost done with it where I realized the spicy chili bits were in the exact middle of the bowl, so unless you mix it up, you won't really find the dish spicy. The service was a little spotty. We needed napkins and forks (because I'm really bad at using chopsticks), but took a few minutes to get someone's attention. The restroom was also of questionable cleanliness. The ceiling is a nice gold, shiny color, but the ground is like dirty concrete? I don't know why they didn't put some tiling. Also, the toilet is incredibly low down, even for a short person. Other than that, it was fine. I like that they give complementary hot tea. I think it's oolong but I'm not sure.
Genuinely one of the best experiences of my life dining here. Young man serving me was so thoughtful, caring, and understanding of dietary restrictions and substitutions. I will definitely come back very soon!
Han Dynasty was a great quality start to my winter visit in NYC! The space was intimate, comfortable, and spacious - even with it being located within a food hall! Service here was similarly excellent in terms of being very prompt, efficient, and friendly! Having traveled across the country for most of the day, both of us ordered (probably) more than was necessary - nevertheless, everything was absolutely EXCELLENT! My feelings on every food dish: Wonton in Chicken Broth - perfect heat and delicious texture/flavor Hot Sauce Style Entree - just the right amount of heat, flavor, and absolutely delicious Scallion Pancake - arguably the most disappointing plate of the evening..but still very solid quality. Just a little dry. If I'm being honest, I am not fully sure of everything we ordered (it was a lot, we were hungry!!), but I DO KNOW that we loved everything we had while patrons of this establishment! Oh yeah - AND they give you a complimentary pot of tea for the table, which I found to be a lovely touch! Unsurprisingly, I highly recommend giving it a try!
Han Dynasty is a great spot if you enjoy bold, authentic Sichuan food with serious flavor. The dishes are packed with spice, heat, and that signature numbing sensation that makes Sichuan cuisine stand out, especially favorites like the dan dan noodles and dry pepper chicken. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the menu lets you choose your spice level, which is perfect whether you’re easing into heat or going all in. The service is very attentive, with staff frequently checking in and making sure everything is exactly how you want it. The atmosphere is casual and lively, making it a solid choice for both group dinners and casual nights out.
I had a great experience at Han Dynasty, especially thanks to the dry pepper chicken—it was packed with bold, savory flavor, perfectly spicy, and exactly what you want from classic Sichuan cooking. The balance of heat, crunch, and seasoning really stood out and kept me coming back for more. While this location isn’t quite as polished or spacious as some of the other Han Dynasty spots around New York, it absolutely holds its own. Given that it’s located inside a busy mall, the team does an impressive job delivering quality food and a smooth experience despite the constant foot traffic. Overall, if you’re craving authentic flavors and a reliably delicious dish like the dry pepper chicken, this location definitely delivers. A solid choice and well worth stopping by.
I was walking around Downtown today and I saw this place on Google Maps. I took it upon myself to give this place a try. When I entered I was greeted and seated by a young lady. The place looks very nice. Everything is clean. After 3 minutes, my order was taken by a young man. I ordered scallion beef with a side of white rice and chicken dumplings in chili oil. The chicken dumplings come in 4. I loved the flavor so much. The chili oil wasn’t too spicy. The dumplings were perfect and soft. I never really had dumplings before, but this is something that I would try again. I give that a 8.5/10. However, I didn’t really enjoy the scallion beef. The scallion and onions was overpowering the meal, but the beef was tender and quite flavorful. I give it a 6/10. Something was missing there. I tried to add soy sauce and duck sauce to see what could be different but idk it just wasn’t for me. I couldn’t even finish it😭The white rice was perfect though. Fluffy to my liking. The customer service is amazing. They’re quick, swift and are glad to answer questions. One of them even helped me to use a chopstick. Honestly it was the only meal I had that day, so I can’t really judge but they could definitely do better and add more kinds of food to the menu. I feel like I wasted money though. $40 for one meal and 4 dumplings?!😐😐Do I recommend? Not really, but if you could try one thing is the dumplings in chili oil; that I recommend.
Oldest child and son in-law treated us to lunch. Food was delicious but price was higher than I expected. Nevertheless the staff was fantastic and food (13 dishes) came in a timely manner. We ordered dumplings, beef, fish, deep fried shrimps, general Han chicken, Dan-Dan noodles, egg plants, pea shoot tips. Every dish was well made. Overall a great experience and all 8 of us left with a great feeling.
This location maintains extended hours and serves high-quality food. While fried rice is my usual lunch preference, other dishes are also noteworthy. The combination of scallion, beef, and oyster sauce is especially impressive. It is one of my recommended dishes to taste during your visit.
Our server was called Jose & he was so sweet. I want to take him home. I loved him. All the servers were excellent. Very attentive & were always close at hand if you needed anything. We were seated in a lovely little booth & given water & a lot of green tea. The menu was explained to us as they use different number to show you how hot the dishes are. Higher numbers = higher heat etc. Our order was taken and the food arrived swiftly. The food was good. Obviously, not the best quality but adequate for the price paid. We were very happy with the meal. Thanks guys I’ll add the pics of the meal later as it on another phone
I went here with my wife as a brief detour from our Trader Joe's trip and was pleasantly surprised. The place seemed completely packed and somehow we were seated and eating within 20 minutes of arriving, not sure what witchcraft made that possible. The food and atmosphere was great my only complaint being their spice levels being really off. I am a spice lover and my wife , not so much . I ordered a spice level 10 dish that although delicious did nothing for me and even my wife agreed it wasn't really spicy. Don't be afraid of those numbers everything seems a bit more mild here than expected.
Our takeout order when delivered was missing one dish and had one protein wrong (tofu instead of beef). We called and asked to deliver the missing dishes. We got the initially ordered mild cumin beef delivered in what must be extra extra spicy. I am sure it was their revenge on us asking to redeliver. :) I love spice - so it was all good and fun but the photo shows the amount of chili in a third of the serving. Definitely revengeful. Cumin beef is delicious. Fried rice is great.
Great food. They have many gluten free options! Quick, friendly service when dining in. I attached a picture of what happens at the takeout window on busy nights. It's impossible to know what to do among the other hungry people and delivery drivers trying to pick up their orders. And this is after waiting the "65-75 minutes" quoted on their site during checkout! There must be a better way... 😩
solid delivery spot. the veg lo mei was pretty stacked with perfectly cooked veggies and it went even better with the chili oil from the dumplings, which were also really good. the spring rolls were a bit small but tasty nonetheless. would probably prefer to eat on location next time- grub hub prices be pretty ridiculous
It is a cute little spot located off of the stop of DeKalb station. Great place to grab a bite to eat after shopping in the area. Food is family style which is great for the $$. The drinks bubble tea and bar drinks are well made. The food is good and has seasoning not the quick fix chinese style on the corner. I would recommend trying out this spot.
Nice Chinese dining restaurant located conveniently in debalk ave. The flavors we're and some I'd say was true to the Chinese food pallate. However I would have wished for a larger variety and perhaps some special menu items that was more traditional and perhaps not seen elsewhere. The servers were nice and attentive. Notifications of table being ready is pretty easy as it's made electronic .
For only $20, I got the Scallion Style Beef which came with a lot of beef and onions. Additionally, my friend ordered the Garlic Sauce Style Chicken and Wontons in Chili Oil which she loved. We were able to get rice multiple times (for free) and we were provided with free tea as well as other options like chili oil and soy sauce. The employees were very kind and came frequently to make sure everything was going well. The store itself was beautifully decorated and I really enjoyed the atmosphere!
This is more a trendy fusion Asian restaurant. The dishes are categorized in a manner that identifies how spicy the dishes are. The heat spicy scale is strong here. Proceed with caution when you select a heat level. Tread carefully when ordering. They do an excellent job with the vegetable dishes, dumplings and beef selections.
The food was great. Amazing vegetarian options. Highly recommend the dry hot pot and the veg dumplings. I can see myself go there again and again just for the dry hot pot. LOVED their chilli oil usage in multiple dishes. They did mess up my friend's beer order despite multiple reminders. Very small thing in the whole scheme of things. Slightly hard to locate as it's in the basement so not immediately intuitive if you are new to the area.
Solid Chinese food for a fair price and in a cozy spot beneath the mall. Came here on a busy Friday evening and was able to get a table right away. The food came out quickly and everything was delicious. If you’re looking for no frills and good food, this is your spot! Would definitely come back to try out other options in the future.
Just got off a long commute from Jersey and was starving. This was recommended by the hotel receptionist since it was one of the few places open late. Just a 5 minute walk and it was inside a shopping center. Thankfully I ordered online so I didn’t have to wait when I arrived and there was a small line of people waiting. I didn’t have super high expectations for the quality of food that late but surprisingly it was all quite good. The dumplings were delicious! The sauce had a perfect amount of spiciness and the chicken fried rice was a good portion. It was a touch dry but the extra chili sauce they gave me helped and it had at least a good flavor. I would recommend this as a good late night spot in Brooklyn if you’ve got a hankering for Chinese food!
We made a reservation for 3 on the NYC restaurant week website. Got there and was seated in a very warm way. Only to be told upon inquiring that the restaurant only participates in the restaurant week festivities from Monday- Friday. This was Saturday. There was nothing on the website that stated this. Anyway, I digress. The prices weren't bad so we ordered. The entrées then came first and long before the appetizers so we had to wait a bit to start eating. The food however was bar none!!! Everything we ordered was exceedingly delicious and flavorful with great portion sizes! The drinks were mind blowing as well! The ambiance was serene and wonderful, replicating exactly what type of restaurant they were! The take home containers were very disappointing as well. However, we definitely would go again.
The server was very nice and very friendly, but the host she had a bad attitude even we say hello how are you to her, she was very rude. The food was good, but definitely if it wasn’t for the server it will be a bad experience. Hire a better host at least a friendly one
Not bad. The food here is good and the location is nice but service was a little lackluster. I ordered a mapo tofu, thai milk tea with bubbles, fried chicken wings, dumplings and dan dan noodles. The dan dan noodles were really good and had a spicy, peanut butter taste to it. The fried chicken wings were a bit disappointing because they were kind of hard to bite into as the skin/batter was very tough but the flavoring of the chicken wasn't too bad. The pork dumplings that I got weren't very spectacular either since it tasted a little bland with the chili oil not even able to save it. The mapo tofu though was REALLY spicy and I felt like it was a really good amount of spice as all mapo tofus should be. It was so good I felt myself sweating a bit while eating but the meat in the dish was really missing in the dish. While eating it, it didn't feel like there was any minced pork in there? My friend, on the other hand, ordered a drink, happy Buddha, and we had to ask 4 different waiters before he actually got his drink. Keep in mind, the fourth waiter came up to us and asked if we were done with our dishes but he still didn't even get his drink yet. Overall not a bad food spot and the lunch menu was priced well considering we were in DeKalb food market hall.
Food was good. However they water down their drinks. My wife is an avid Bulleit bourbon drinker. Always drinks it neat. As soon as she tasted her drink she knew it was watered down.
The Mapo tofu is not spicy like it is not spicy at all, one thing you expect when eating Mapo Tofu is that is spicy with Szechuan peppers. I ordered there lunch special Mapo Tofu from the take-out counter and the lady did not tell me about a spice level or anything I just got a zero spice Mapo Tofu.
I decided to try this place after a friend recommended it. I wish I’d have gone elsewhere. The service was great, which is an oddity in NYC nowadays. The spring rolls were good as well. However, the supposed 3/10 spicy entree I ordered was loaded with so many peppers it seemed more like 13/10. The pict is of the half of the peppers I didn’t eat. I grew so tired of pulling them out that I gave up and just ate them even though I couldn’t feel my face anymore. Also, the beverage menu is different than what is shown online, which is a big reason I ate here. I guess they don’t bother updating it.
I’m a regular customer and usually have great experiences here, which is why I wanted to share this as constructive feedback. On my recent visit, I decided to try the dry pepper scallops instead of my usual dry pepper fish. After taking a few small bites, I realized I didn’t enjoy the texture or how the scallops were cooked, so I asked to switch dishes. I wasn’t saying I don’t like seafood — I regularly order and enjoy the dry pepper fish — this particular dish just wasn’t for me. Unfortunately, the bartender became confrontational and told me that I “wasted a $30 meal” and said that I do this “all the time,” which isn’t accurate (this has only happened twice over several months). The extra commentary made me uncomfortable, especially as a returning customer. I completely understand that food costs matter, but I feel this situation could have been handled more professionally and without placing guilt on the guest. I did share my experience with the manager. I’m posting this because I genuinely enjoy coming here and hope future situations like this are handled with more care and understanding.
Han Dynasty at DeKalb Market Hall made for a convenient late supper after a movie, but the experience was uneven, with several dishes falling short of their traditional flavor profiles. We began with the wontons in chili oil, a classic Sichuan appetizer rooted in Chengdu street food culture. Traditionally, the dish balances málà the numbing warmth of Sichuan peppercorns and the layered heat of chili oil. In this case, the wontons were small, noticeably overpriced, and coated in a sauce that leaned more sweet and salty than authentically spicy. Despite the generous amount of chili oil, the expected heat and numbing sensation were missing, leaving the dish oily rather than vibrant. The Westlake beef soup was a steadier offering. This Cantonese origin broth, named after West Lake in Hangzhou, is known for its delicate texture created by minced beef, egg ribbons, and a lightly thickened, silky base. The version served here stayed true to that simplicity clean and comforting, even if not particularly memorable. The salt and pepper scallops, served with rice, were the most disappointing plate. Salt and pepper dishes (jiao yan) are a hallmark of Cantonese cooking, celebrated for their crisp fry and harmony of salt, white pepper, and aromatics. Although the presentation here was impressive, the seasoning was not. The dominant and almost only flavor was pepper. There was virtually no salt, leaving the scallops bland and tasting mostly of fry oil rather than the bright, savory punch this dish is meant to deliver. Portions overall felt small, which led us to add chicken potstickers. These, too, were overpriced for their size and lacked the juicy, savory filling that defines a good dumpling. One thoughtful touch was the complimentary water and hot tea, which added a sense of hospitality to the meal. While the setting is convenient and a few items offered comfort, several dishes missed the traditional balance and depth they’re meant to showcase. With so many strong vendors in DeKalb Market Hall, greater consistency and attention to seasoning would significantly elevate the dining experience.
I recently ordered from this Chinese restaurant and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. I popped in for take out and was charged for two items that were missing from my order. After getting home and seeing this I tried calling to rectify the situation, the voicemail box was full, making it impossible to reach anyone for assistance. This lack of customer service and the overcharge left me quite dissatisfied with my overall experience. I hope they can improve their communication and service in the future.
Ordered lunch menu for delivery. The price of this crispy pepper fish is $14.99 ish. Shockingly, it came with 2 normal pieces and 2 small pieces. Seriously? 😱🥶Am I the only one shocked by small portion for this price?🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ Btw, ordered double cooked pork at the sma e time. Portion is just ok but taste was not how that dish is supposed to be. 😐
Food was ok. I’ve had dry chili chicken from other places that was much better. This had heat but no seasoning. The cocktail was boring for $14. Perhaps worse though is the absence of any cell phone signal whatsoever and no WiFi. Here’s the thing: First, it’s 2018. Second, people go to lunch from work and need to stay connected. Even if there’s no signal downstairs in general it’s your job to provide WiFi or something. Third, it’s 2018 — WiFi. So to recap: Better drinks, season the chicken, WiFi.
Fried rice is not good. Very dry, very bland. Tasted like the ingredients (e.g., rice, onion, other veggies, meat, chilis) were thrown in a wok and heated up. No seasonings, no sauces. Pretty disappointing. Pictured is the fried rice. It's with extra spice though you couldn't tell by the taste. The vegetable spring roll was pretty good though. Bigger than I expected too.
Literally just went in with my boyfriend and we had such a mid experience. The ambiance was so off, it’s supposed to be authentic but there’s a bar right in the middle and there’s rap music ?? besides that after we ordered and received our food which wasn’t bad at all, our server never came to check on us and never got our soda, we had to ask a food runner to refill our water because he never came back. We finished quickly and only tipped $5 which I feel bad about but there was no service to tip for. Will not be back again.
UNSATISFACTORY SERVICE It’s sad that I have to make a bad review on a place that I always order from and love their Shrimp Fried Rice and Kung Pao Shrimp dish!! I never ate in the actual restaurant so I cannot speak on behalf of how it is dining in, but I always uber eats it or order for pickup. It’s a very nice spot to order at night specifically because they stay open late, and today I went to order in person for pickup. First things first is that I greeted the cashier (a new cashier that I’ve never seen before) with a cheerful energy and I got no response, and he was standing right there so there was no possible way he didn’t, but I brushed it off because I didn’t think too much into it, I just figured he was having a bad day. I finally ordered everything listed on the receipt in the picture. I ordered one Kung Pao Shrimp with no bell peppers and no onions (this meal comes with rice), one Shrimp Fried Rice extra spicy, one Lychee Tea with extra ice, and one Mango Tea with no ice. Yes, I gave lots of extra directions, but as you see on the receipt, he typed every single special request. My boyfriend and I received our drinks first before the meal and my Lychee Tea barely had any ice, my boyfriend’s Mango Tea was not filled but I figured for his tea it was due to the fact that usually ice would fill it. For my tea I specifically asked for extra ice so I was definitely disappointed with that because I’m anemic and I love crunching on ice when I drink anything. My boyfriend had to ask for a cup of ice due to the lack of following instructions and yes the person did give the ice cup for free which I appreciate, but when my boyfriend came back to me he mentioned how the guy was distracted and on FaceTime with someone. So that’s when I figured he just wasn’t paying attention as a whole. Anyways, we finally got home and opened everything and the pictures shown is how everything looked. First off, I did not get any rice with the Kung Pao Shrimp, I’m not sure if he thought that I was replacing the regular rice with fried rice, but if he did, that’s something that you ask the customer, I work in customer service so trust me I know. I couldn’t even eat it without the rice because it’s not a meal you eat by itself so I had to stay hungry and put in in my fridge so I can get or make some rice tomorrow. I paid a lot over $26 for just Kung Pao just to get no rice. The second thing is that my boyfriend opened his Shrimp Fried Rice and seen that it was bland with no chili oil or anything. We noticed that there was an extra chili oil before hand and figured that it was complimentary especially since we have a decent tip but nooo they wanted us to add the chili oil ourselves. They have NEVER done something like that before whenever we ordered food so I was confused on why they did this now, especially paying the amount that we did. I will say that their food is a little pricey but I always made the sacrifice due to how good it was, but this turned me off so muchhh from them. I loved how consistent they always were and how they valued their customers requests, but everything about the experience today makes me not want to order from them again due to the fact that everything was building up. From the service, to the food, like it was definitely a turn off. I will say that they did listen to my request for the Kung Pao and I appreciate them for that, but everything else was terrible even my boyfriend said that the Fried Rice wasn’t sitting right in his stomach and he normally gets that dish so something is definitely going on and Han Dynasty, I request that you fix it because we love your food and do not want an experience like this again!!!
We always come to Han Dynasty. The food was amazing and extremely quick, we applaud the kitchen. We got a blonde server, the name is Florence according to the check. She seemed depressed and was dragging herself across the dining room. Ofc we didn’t tip. What happened to the people you had before? We remember the guys who worked the mornings, they were sweet.
Went there to get fried shrimp rice as a quick lunch, when paying selected no tip option like twice and they charged me the tip… a woman came saying they will refund the tip and it never happened, food wasn’t good, not fried at all 3 shrimps and like a pound of rice… never again! Stay away from this place.
I was a happy customer previously but I'm actually shocked by this -- I called the number listed here on Google Maps and got an AI response. Okay, I asked to speak to someone at the Brooklyn location. The AI says, "let me get you someone who can help," and hangs up on you. I've called at least 3 times with the same result.
This is the 4th time we ordered from this place and they forgot to pack the rice with the delivery (which is essential). Last time we ordered we made sure to put a note on both of the orders to not forget to pack the rice and when our meal arrived they forgot to pack the rice... If someone put on a allergy note on the order would they also forget go do it because they're understaffed, which doesn't justify not reading the notes. We tried yo contact them and it literally took 20 calls to get a hold of them and their customer service was horrible. Food is great but it's hard to enjoy the food when you dont get the full order.
I was asked to pay upfront at this restaurant simply because I’m Black. That’s racism, plain and simple. Don’t judge me by my skin color or assume I’m a thief. Judge me by the same standard as anyone else: the food I order and the respect I deserve.
Ordered 2 soups, they came fully leaked out into the plastic bag, no thought went into how they were packaged. Terrible service, horrible delivery, and no way to even contact the restaurant to tell them or ask for a refund. DO NOT ORDER TAKEOUT FROM HERE.
I must say I was greatly disappointed with my food. I ordered the house special fried rice and the scallion chicken. The rice was white, no flavor, no type of seasoning the mixture for the scallion chicken was watery and also no flavor.
Ordered the spicy beef noodle soup takeout and the first thing I realize is that there are no napkins or utensils. Then when I opened the soup, it looked nothing like on menu ( a dark red colour). It was pure Chili oil which I verified while tasting it and caused me to chock because of the spice. Also very bland. Very disappointed that this is what I get for 20 dollars.
After a very stressful doctor’s appointment, I came to Han Dynasty hoping for a comforting meal and a moment of peace. Instead, I left feeling sick, embarrassed, and dismissed. I ordered the house special fried rice and my husband ordered the beef with scallions. While the fried rice initially tasted okay, I became violently nauseous midway through eating and had to rush to the bathroom to throw up. This was my first meal of the day, and I am 40 weeks pregnant, so at first I assumed my body was just reacting to the stress. After getting sick, I tried to continue eating, only to throw up again. At that point, it was clear something wasn’t sitting right with me. I calmly and respectfully explained the situation to the manager and asked if the dish could be taken off the bill. His response was shocking and completely lacking in compassion. He told me that if I “wasn’t feeling up to par for a meal,” I shouldn’t have eaten and that it was not his problem. He then slammed the payment device on the counter, signaling that he was done with me. I left feeling humiliated and heartbroken. Pregnancy is already physically and emotionally overwhelming, and a little kindness or understanding would have gone a long way. Instead, I was met with hostility and zero accountability. I did not come looking for a free meal—I came looking for comfort and left with regret. I will not be returning, and I truly hope management reflects on how they treat customers, especially those who are clearly vulnerable and unwell.
