The restaurant was excellent in every way. The food was delicious, the ambience was warm and charming, and our waiter, Marco, was the best of the best! I highly recommend the restaurant.

Food is always amazing every time me and my family go here with my husbands parents. Plus I love how the staff makes it feel like you’re part of the family.

Never had a bad dish here! Love the roasted garlic brought with the flat bread. Always have great specials. Great attentive and friendly service.

My favorite place. This place is hidden in cvs shopping center near my house and the food is surprisingly very fresh and tasty. Attilio was our server very friendly staff and very attentive. Highly recommend this hidden Italian gem. Try the shrimp pizza that's my fav 👌

Elsie went above and beyond. We were stranded at the restaurant with a broken down car waiting for a tow truck for hours. Elsie went out of her way to ensure we were taken care of, even offering us a ride to the train station. She is a true gem and the crown jewel of service! Thank you for making our terrible day a bit brighter!

Really enjoyed this spot. Stuffed Artichoke was excellent but they dont have all the time. Veal Chop Valdastona was perfect. Will be back.

Review for Sotto Luna Restaurant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had the pleasure of dining at Sotto Luna last night, and I can’t say enough good things about our experience! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the owner, who was incredibly kind, especially since I had mistakenly made the reservation for the wrong night. Despite the mix-up, she made us feel right at home and accommodated us without hesitation. We kicked off our evening with a bottle of Chardonnay that was simply perfect. It set the tone for a delightful meal. For starters, we opted for the Caesar salad, and let me tell you, it was delicious! The flavors were spot on, and it was a great prelude to the main course. I ordered the Chicken Francese, and I was blown away by the generous portion size. It was so good that I have leftovers for dinner tonight, which is always a win in my book! I can’t recommend it enough. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to get the Veal Valdestano, which I’ve had before and can highly recommend as well. The ambiance was enhanced by a talented singer who played all the classic songs we knew and loved — it really added to the overall experience. And let’s not forget about the bread! It was served hot and was absolutely yummy, making it hard to resist going back for seconds. We wrapped up our evening with a little ice cream, which was the perfect sweet ending to our meal. The wait staff was terrific throughout the night, attentive without being intrusive, and they made sure we had everything we needed. I can’t wait to return next Friday for more fun at Sotto Luna! If you’re looking for a fantastic dining experience with great food, friendly service, and a lively atmosphere, this is the place to be!

Wonderful experience! My family celebrated their baby shower here, and everything was wonderful. The owner was so helpful, understanding & accommodating for all our needs. Staff very attentive. Food was excellent! We highly recommend hosting intimate gatherings here. We look forward to coming again for a regular dining experience.

An authentic Italian restaurant, rich in delicate flavor and nothing ever smothered in generic pizza sauce...God, no. Sotto Luna is true "Italian-Mediterranean cuisine and where the "fine hand" of culinary art offers the most rewarding dishes. Way too many wonderful dishes to single out; explore yourself, it'll be part of the fun! Great bar, too, roomy and with a generous selection. If you try this place out, you will certainly be pleased.

We just had my daughter's baby shower at Sotto Luna. Cathy went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed including coming in early for a balloon delivery. Cathy and her staff are amazing and the food is excellent. We could not have asked for a better experience. Amazing, amazing!!!!

We just had our second celebration at Sotto Luna! We returned because the first experience was wonderful on every level. Cathy worked patiently with us to plan the party from start to finish. Her menu suggestions gave everyone a variety of meal options and accommodated the dietary needs of some guests. She was very flexible and arranged areas for party activities. The wait staff were friendly and very attentive from the start to the end. Cathy's management ensured the event went smoothly. Feedback from our guests was consistent for delicious food and a great overall experience. Thank you so much again Cathy for your valuable guidance, and to her wait staff for a memorable event! By the way, we also enjoy the Friday evening musicians with music we all know!

I actually live about 5 blocks away, so I pass by every day. When my boss wanted to take us out for the holiday dinner I suggested this restaurant. We were a party of 5 and we all agreed how great the food was. Service was excellent. Staff was very attentive. Will definitely come back again. Highly recommended.

I've got say the food was very tasty and delicious. There was 5 of and we all love our dinner meals and appetizers. The service was excellent and great atmosphere. I definitely would come again.

Incredible food. All the sauces on the different dishes were fantastic. The oysters were good. Salads were good. Drinks were good. A little strong but still tasty. The waiter was very good. Incredible memory for the LONG list of specials. Great teamwork on delivering the food hot. The cheesecake was not your normal cheesecake but very tasty very light. Afterwards I remembered that I should have taken photos. Well that's just a good excuse to go back again.

I read a positive review on Nextdoor neighbor and dedided to give this restaurant a try, The food was excellent, I have been back twice and have recommended it to friends. So far I haven't been disappointed, even my friend who is never happy with a restaurant meal said the food was delicious.

Last night we were at your place with some dear friends for a special night to catch up and, as always your restaurant didn’t disappoint. All of the pasta dishes we ordered tasted so fresh and delicious and the crab cakes were some of the best we have ever had (anywhere). Had a wonderful Birthday dinner here with friends. The waiter brought out a delicious dessert with a candle & staff sang to me. Dessert was on the house ! Wonderful restaurant! We had homemade ravioli with spinach, shrimp & ricotta!

I had my father's 80th birthday here (very last minute) . It was such a great experience and everyone was so kind and so helpful. They even helped me decorate and set up tables. They were so accommodating with my requests even allowing me to have a magician as entertainment. Everyone raved about the food and we've even had guests (who weren't local) return/order food! They loved the rigatoni alla vodka the most! My only regret was not having enough party favors to share with the staff to express my appreciation. Thank you to Cathy for making everything so easy.

If you haven’t been here before you are absolutely missing out!!! This is a hidden gem of an authentic Italian restaurant. Me and my family come here all the time, I honestly should have written this review a while ago. Food is always fresh, they always have unique specials, staff is friendly and always welcoming. This place is 100% worth the money! And the restaurant is always clean. I highly recommend!!!

I made a visit back to Sotto Luna for the first time after a decade, wondering all the while - 'Will it be as good as I remembered?' In short, most things are. Some things have certainly changed. Since last I visited, the restaurant has moved to a new location, but the interior is still warm and cozy while the service remains as friendly. And you've got to pay respects to a place that delivers a whole head of roasted garlic with warm (almost too hot to touch) bread. Familiar Italian favorites are done extremely well here. My picky father enjoyed his linguine pescatore - a healthy serving of mussels, clams, shrimp, and calamari nestled in a bed of pasta in red sauce. I ordered a classic spaghetti and meatballs, and the sheer size of the meatballs drew audible gasps from around the table. Rigatoni a la vodka? Delicious. Other riskier orders didn't fare so well. Someone took a chance with a shrimp ravioli special, and it arrived in a sauce whose texture could only be described as 'gloopy'. Two from our party ordered the pollo campagnola sauce (boneless chicken with sausage, peppers, potatoes, onions and flavored with garlic and rosemary), and these plates were also received lukewarmly. The key to success here seems to be sticking to the tried and true. As mentioned, service is impeccable. We were checked on frequently, with water glasses kept diligently full, and needs met quickly (and sometimes anticipated by our attentive server). Sotto Luna remains as special a place as ever and a true hidden gem in this quiet Long Island area.

We always enjoy Sotto Luna! My family basically orders here bi-weekly. It’s a bit fancier/pricier than typical pizzeria prices, but that’s because it’s a white tablecloth Italian restaurant! I have a dairy allergy and they are always accommodating of my allergies and avoid cheese and butter for me. My favorite go-to are the zucchini noodles with grilled chicken. My parents and boyfriend love getting the chicken parm and chicken dishes. I also love getting the pasta with broccoli. Nice selection of drinks and they give a warm bread basket appetizer! My car got stuck in the parking lot at CVS during a snowstorm. Waiting for the tow truck , we went into the restaurant . Food was very good atmosphere Pleasant. The greeter could have been a little more friendly as well as the wait staff. Much friendlier with people that must have been regulars. I guess they're not looking for repeat new customers. It's a shame because their sister restaurant in Roslyn greets you with warmth and charm and every 1 of the wait staff make you feel welcome and appreciated. We live between the 2 restaurants so will still go to the 1 on Lincoln Avenue.

Stopped by twice in the last couple of weeks for lunch because the food, price and service was excellent. Haven't tried much of the menu so I cannot give it five stars yet.

Excellent food. Ordered Flounder Franchise, made perfectly. Staff was attentive. The only reason for 4 stars was the cost. It is very expensive.

One of our all time favorite places. My wife and I go here together when visiting our grandparents on LI and in 10 years we haven't had a bad meal yet. Love it!

The food was delicious, and the fried calamari was cooked perfectly! The service was okay, but the staff needs to know more about the menu. I'll definitely be back, though.

Hostess deserves a raise but the rest of the staff needs an upgrade or better training. I tried to order apps and was told I should order them with my entree. I have never been told I shouldn’t order apps before a main course. Waited way too long to be seated, there was no one seated at the tables. Waiter forgot we were sitting there and the hostess picked up the slack. I hope to try this place again and have a better experience in order to update this review.

Returned to SL after many years to its new location. Had a “reservation” for 7:30, but was seated at 8:30. Attempted to get a drink from the “bartender” who told me that he “couldn’t help me at the moment” As a former bartender, this is as bad as it gets. Write it down, memorize it. Whatever it takes! I wanted a beer. Too hard for him. Hostess is very sweet and seemed genuine when checking on us before seating. We had to ask for place settings and two additional menus. They were more busy setting new tables for people who were not there. Food was not as good as I remember. Orecchiette was very salty, and dry. Eggplant parm was good, fettuccine Alfredo was very creamy and lacked a familiar Alfredoo taste, ravioli shrimp special was watery and very bland. Best part of the meal was the bread and roasted garlic. I had two Peroni with the food and the bill was $180…a bit steep for the experience. My Daughter attends The United States Merchant Marine Academy and was dressed in uniform for the dinner. Amazing to me that they NOT ONE employee acknowledged this…Hope they improve…..

Beyond noisy. Couldn't wait to finish meal and leave. Mr. Owner,put acoustic tile on the ceiling. Put sound absorbing panels on the wall. Why do I have to shout to my friends to be heard. We all agreed the food was excellent. Sorry, not likely to return.

the food was good. Grew up going to sotto luna I ordered take out and it was like mini portion was very small. Disappointed with the lunch portion pasta priced at 14.95 tax not included. It used to be anywhere between 8.95-11.95 before the location moved. I will come back after i get a raise...

What a terrific restaurant. This place use to be about a mile away, but they moved to a free standing building. They were in a small strip mall prior to that. Food is delicious, service is great and the staff could not be nicer. Strongest possible recommendation. I feel badly that I am editing this review, but last night my wife and I were there with friends of ours. All 4 of us are double vaccinated. So we decided to try indoors.. The food is always 5 star. I was shocked and disappointed that there was not proper distancing of tables. Right now, the standard for indoor dining is 50-75%. Last night, this place was at 110%. There were tables almost on top of tables. We felt very uncomfortable and could not wait to leave. I love the place, but if someone were to become Covid-19 positive who were there. I would not be surprised if they reached out to the authorities and blew the whistle. Very scary.

Where do I begin. Given we went in for a late lunch at 3:00 so I don't expect the full dinner service but still a little effort would be nice. It seemed like the staff that was there was eating so us coming in was not ideal. Then when we were asked what we would like to drink I asked for a wine list or drink menu, being that google advertised a great wine list. We were offered no menu instead he just rattled off different wine varietals. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. My boyfriend's entree was so salty it was almost inedible. My ravioli was undercooked and tho it was supposed to be lobster ravioli i tasted nothing but cheese. For two $20 entrees needless to say I was unimpressed. The qulaity and portion of food for the price was unacceptable. Not happy at all.

The mushroom special was slimy and tasteless. I felt like the staff was very pushy and rude. In my opinion, there are much better Italian restaurants than this one. I would not recommend.
