Guisados has earned its reputation as one of the finest taquerias in Los Angeles. My visit to their original location in Boyle Heights has perhaps been my favorite taco shop experience so far this summer. Spicy, stewed meats are dolloped onto thick, delicious corn tortillas that have been freshly pressed and griddled from nixtamal ground in-house. There's no carne asada or al pastor pork here, the fillings are braises called "guisados," the kind of food found more often on the dinner table in homes than in restaurants. Everything is excellent, so I'd recommend ordering the "Sampler," your choice of 6 mini-tacos (seafood varieties excluded) for $7.50.

Awesome place for tacos! Being as indecisive as I was, the OG sampler was the one to get. Six mini tacos that are about two bites each makes me a happy camper with all the variety and flavors. At $7.50, I'll probably order the same again the next time I go. It is definitely different from tacos I usually eat where you have to use salsa. The tacos here have all the flavors packed into each one already so the only thing you have to worry about is to eat it without all the ingredients spilling out.

Was in LA for a work trip several weeks ago and was able to stop by Guisados for some tacos. I can't say much except that each of the 6 tacos I shared with a buddy were fantastic at each level. The corn tortillas, the way the braised/stewed/seared meats were cooked/seasoned/the sauces/the garnish. At every level everything added up to a perfect taco. We went when there wasn't much of a line luckily and the service was very quick, but I would put these at or near the top of my taco list and would absolutely come back next time I'm in LA for a trip.

Yammy yammy yammy! We went there with my colleagues over lunch.. if you like tacos I highly recommend you visiting this place; and if you are undeciseve then choose their Mix and match option of mini tacos (can't recall the exact name for that option).. there are many different choices and each one has a different taste and flavor to it.. but for me, my favorite one was the Chicharron! 😍😋 Their horchata was good too! Street parking all around but it can be tricky as it's a busy area.

This place serves some of the most delicious tacos in LA. I've tried all of them, their all delicious!!! But beware folks, they also have some of the most spiciest tacos I have ever had. The cochinita pibil packs a lot of heat, so have the milk ready. They also have a lot of cool art from local artists decorating their walls and articles from the late great Jonathan Gold.The king of all foodies.

Delicious tacos. Great options for vegans and vegetarians as well. However, what was missing in our opinion was the topping options like pico de gallo or a piece of avocado or radish to enhance the taste of tacos.

The tacos were very delicious, had a taste of Mexico, the agua fresca as well, everything was great except for one detail, one of the cooks won’t stop staring at me , made me feel uncomfortable, I almost complained but I didn’t want to ruin the tacos eating experience, it was the guy with the hat 🧢. Other than that everything else was great, the lovely lady who took my order and the other cook who kept it respectful.

I really enjoy their tacos and breakfast burritos but the tamales not so great and they are pricey. I’ve ordered queso and elote and they are alright. But today they were just bad. The breakfast burrito de chorizo was very good but the queso tamal was dry and the queso dark orange and it didn’t taste fresh , the elote tamal also seemed overdone nada and so didn’t taste good. Not worth the 5$ each. Overall everything else is good.
