Opinions de Wurstküche Los Angeles
Absolutely loved this place! The sausages are incredibly flavorful with a great variety to choose from, and the fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned. The beer selection is impressive, especially if you enjoy German and Belgian styles. The atmosphere is fun and lively, and the staff were friendly and quick to help. A must-visit spot for casual food and drinks with friends.
12/1/2025 Wurstkuche 800 E 3rd St Los Angeles, CA 90013 I went with my nephew on his recommendation for a late lunch on a Tuesday. This German sausage place is near Little Tokyo in DTLA. There is only pay street parking but we had no problem finding a spot a block away, not typical. The set up is an order counter, pay and take your aluminum number tower to your table. The menu cards are at the counter. The menu consists of gourmet hot dogs, toppings, fries and German/Belgian beers. There are both interior and exterior tables. It was a nice day so we chose the patio with a picnic table setup. We ordered the Hot Italian and Hungarian Heat with fries. Our meal in aluminum trays was brought shortly by our very nice server. The Italian was good but I thought the Hungarian was better flavored. Both had good heat. The wedge fries were piping hot, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside; outstanding. They also have fresh sausage in the display case for take home. A large variety of sausages to explore next time. Very repeatable.
Came here at 5pm for an early dinner- virtually no wait to order. Food arrived in about 10min and was most excellent. I wish I could have tried all their sausages! Highly recommend.
Great sausage and beers! I am not a huge beer person but the staff always has a great recommendation and I almost always end up liking it. Love coming here with small or large groups - it’s greta for both!
The staff said these were the best fries in LA, but for me, they were the best in the world. The Hefeweizen I had was fantastic, and the bratwurst was delicious. Excellent beer quality and great vibes!
Wurstküche is a standout food spot in Los Angeles. The sausages are packed with flavor and cooked just right, with a great balance of texture and seasoning. I love how many topping and sauce options there are, which really lets you customize your meal. The fries are crispy and generous, perfect for sharing. The atmosphere is relaxed and energetic, and the staff keep things moving smoothly. This is a great place for a casual meal that still feels special and satisfying.
The beer is pretty good, I got the Tokyo and it was a good IPA. The food was also pretty good aswell. But the vibe was great, although it was loud it’s a fun place to go with friends.
Last year I spent three months in Europe, seeking out the best frite shops in Belgium and the Netherlands, and had fries and fried potatoes at places that were highly rated specifically for their fries in France, Spain, etc. Altogether, I noted 24 different restaurants, mostly in Belgium and the Netherlands, that we ate at specifically because they were supposed to be the best place for fries in their city. You would assume we'd had the world's best fries at one of those places, right? I've eaten at wurstküche maybe a dozen times. Each of those times (except for maybe once or twice) the fries have been better than anything we had in Europe. No lie. I've tried to replicate it at home, using every method imaginable...different fats, par-boiled, par-fried, chilled, rinsed, blanched this way and that. I love fries. I've never hit the mark. I don't know what wizardry is at play here, but this wurstküche location has the best fries I've ever had. And that's really saying something. The sausage and beer are okay too.
Wamdered to the restaurant after the Dodgers' Championship parade. The sausages were great. We had Bratwurst and a hot Italian sausage. Both exceptional. The fries were outstanding too. Great beer selection too. We will return.
I visited Wurstküche today, and I must say — the flavors really hit. We tried the Brotwurst and Mango-Jalapeño hot dogs, plus a large order of Belgian fries. Everything was flavorful and satisfying, though the portion sizes were a bit underwhelming considering we paid around $40 USD in total. It was a Wednesday afternoon, so we didn’t find many other customers. That made the atmosphere relaxed and conducive to conversation — no loud crowd, just comfortable. It seems especially well suited for people who work in nearby office buildings looking for a casual lunch or beer + hot dog break. A little history: Wurstküche first opened in November 2008. The founders, cousins Joseph Pitruzzelli and Tyler Wilson, aimed to bring a high-end sausage & beer hall experience to Los Angeles. From the beginning, they curated a menu of over 20 gourmet sausages — from classic to exotic varieties — and paired them with a rotating selection of German and Belgian beers. The original goal was to sell 100 sausages a day from a small kitchen, while expanding the dining space over time.
Great spot with a fun vibe. I love that you can draw with crayon on the tablecloth there. The selection of foods is awesome, with lots of crazy options. The price is steep, but it's worth it for the experience. I didn't know they sold snake meat, but they do! Great for someone feeling adventurous. There are plenty of normal options too though. It's a great spot to go to with friends.
They have a great selection of sausages, and the most unique and tasty for me was the rattlesnake rabbit, along with the bratwurst. They also have a wide variety of drinks, including my favorite sarsaparilla soda. Prices are fair for the flavor and quality. I’ll definitely be coming back to try out every flavor.
I’m so glad this place - my trusty late night place - is still here after all these years. They have the best fries EVER, and amazing vegan sausage options. They’re open late, so it’s always been my favorite place to eat after a night out. The atmosphere is also great, so it’s a nice place to hang out whether you’re with friends, on a date or alone!
My first visit at 3pm on a Friday afternoon, and the wait was not long at all. It's mostly street parking, some metered some not, and some paid lots. Watch the signs. Important to note that you place your order at the counter inside near the outdoor patio, take a number to your seat, and a server delivers it. My group of 5 ate outside at picnic tables with plenty of umbrellas to shade the sun, tall "hedges" to block the little bit of street traffic, and there was a nice breeze. There's a WIDE variety of sausages and beverages, and the service was fast. I had the VEGETARIAN MEXICAN CHIPOTLE with caramelized onions and sweet peppers. Just enough heat in the sausage so the sweet peppers were perfect, and I went with some honey mustard to also balance it. Everyone liked their dishes and drinks. They also offer indoor seating. My only criticism might be that the fries were too salty (but still delicious), and the pesto mayo was great but the portion was too small. The "Klein" (small) fries are more than enough for the average person. I would definitely go back to try other things!
First time here, been in this area many times, usually a line, finally decided to try it out, lots of unique options, I opted for the original brat, also got my toppings on the side and just got truffle oil fries. So many options for the mustard choices, very clean outside, friendly, helpful staff. Would return and highly recommend.
Really fantastic German food and beer, which is less common in LA. Their focus is on different types of bratwurst and beers, including some more unique flavors like rattlesnake and rabbit. We took my uncle here for his 21st and he got one of the large mugs of beer. We each got a different type of sausage and shared fries with a variety of dipping sauces. They have an outdoor seating area, as well as an inside area with a secondary bar and DJ area, but I'm not sure when the DJ plays. The atmosphere is dark with large community tables and some private tables around the corners of the restaurant. Really fun spot to go with friends or family if you just want to have some drinks, good food and enjoy the evening.
For super casual adventurous big-group dining, this is the place. The menu is simple: sausages, fries, and an impressive selection of draft and bottled beers. What makes it adventurous is the sausage selections. Choices include rattlesnake & rabbit, pheasant, buffalo, vegetarian, and classic sausages—all served on a bun with a choice of toppings. They have seating both inside and outside in front of the restaurant. Order in the front and take your number to your seat and wait to be served. I can always count on one of their classics with sweet peppers and caramelized onions to be delicious. Parking: Expect to pay for parking in a lot. Carpool if you can. It’s okay if you park a few blocks away. The walk around this neighborhood is fun and you’ll be sure to discover some fun gems.
Exotic dogs, straightforward menu, great beers. There's usually a big line on the weekends, we try to visit during the week when it's less crowded+ easy street parking. The spicy pepper topping is a great choice! The art district in DTLA has been up and coming for some time and it feels great to walk the neighborhood.
Great neighborhood spot. Wonderful food, and we were helped by an amazing bartender named Ava! She was so knowledgeable, and she helped me find one of my new favorite beers!

I love this place it's my go to place whenever I'm in downtown LA. Great place to go for a bite and drinks with friends lost of indoor and outdoor seating.
Great atmosphere, awesome vibes and the food was good along with great beers. Definitely a place for good times, food, and chill times with great company.
Still fabulous, friendly and oh so accessible down in the DTLA Arts District. Street parking is getting better, but tricky as new places keep arriving and making it more popular. If I get in around…
We tried this for the first time. It had a very simple menu, not alot to choose from but that makes it easier sometimes. Mostly sandwiches, wings, things like that.

Simple ordering style. Easy menu to navigate. Service was pretty straight forward order at the counter and they bring it to you. We went on a Friday afternoon and it was fast. Fries were delicious and im more of a shoestring kind of girl. As far as the bratwurst and the link they were pretty good not sure they really stood out as "must have" though we enjoyed it.
I was very excited to check this place out! Some good things some less great. Let’s start with the food! 5/5! Great fries, awesome sausages. The lamb is 100% the best! Also love all the sauces they have and the sundried tomato mayo was delish. Now the beer.. meeeh I tried 3 different ones and they were mid. 3/5 for that. Also it was a summer night and the beers wernt anywhere cold enough. Now what I disliked the most, the patio wasnt furnished so we had to sit inside… no problem right? However the inside area has no air circulation at all. So it was very very hot and had to keep stepping out to get some fresh air then going back in. They should have installed ceiling fans or turned the AC on. Maybe I will come back one day but overall I was dissapointed by the beers and vibe!
Phenomenal German food in a heavily food populated area. This place sticks out well with the quality compared to others in the area. They have a few unique blends of bratwurst, which I had the rabbit and rattlesnake blend (very good!). I also tried the original bratwurst, and fries. I’d say everything was very good and worth coming again. Make sure to check your receipt, I was charged for two beers but only asked for one. They were quick to resolve it, but just a courtesy mention.
Brats, beer, and good vibes! Great spot in DTLA to hang out and get some drinks and hang out. The service is very friendly and they know the menu pretty well. The space is really cool and modern with an industrial kind of feel. We got the Classic Bratwurst and Filipino. The buns had a great chew and each one was tasty. Definitely pairs well with beer! They also have some cocktails available too. I got the Mulled Wine, which was sweet and warm! Brought me into the holiday spirit!

The food was good it was delicious can't tell you what I ordered but it was tasty there was a small line no big deal thay have security protection at the business that's a plus+ the restaurant is clean and the manager is a bit serious but great food
Came here for lunch and place was empty. Service was quick and easy. The fries were great, the lamb sausage w/ onions and peppers was just ok. It was too bready for the little sausages, couldn’t taste meat much. Fries w/ tzatziki sauce were the star of the show.
