Burritos under $10 bucks is a pipe dream right now. Not here! And they're legit .
A good place to go for a variety of Mexican food. Tacos are great! Burritos are a good size. Dinner plate items are a must to try. You will definitely get your fillings. No small portions of meat here! Prices are still reasonable considering inflation.
Food is good staff is friendly and price is fair. Only thing that suck is the parking
This place was rated one of the 5 best Mexican restaurants in the Bay area and the only one in San Jose. It is a little hole in the wall in a strip mall with counter service and little ambiance. But the service is excellent and the food is **OUTSTANDING**. I had Super Nachos ($8.50) -- the portion was very large and it consisted of chips, cheese, refried and whole beans, a generous helping of carnitas, jalapeños, sour cream and avocado. It was probably the best nachos I've ever had. I went back today and had a breakfast burrito for lunch. Best breakfast burrito I have ever had. The place is a gem.
The cheapest place in town compare to other places good food for less service is great I recommend a carne asada with shrimp delicious with hand made tortilla
One of the best mexican food spots I've ever tried. Absolutely delicious. Great size plates. Clean even with the constant flow of customers.
This is the best mexican food my family and I have had! Everything we have had on their menu is fire. My personal favorite is the chicken flautas. My partner loves the supreme asada burrito. The burrito literally drips with juice. Im getting hungry now lol. The only thing is the place can get a little messy on busy days.
Great service, The chile relleno Super Burrito is delicious.
While this place may not be aesthetically great, I found the food to be very good. I ordered an al pastor super burrito and a carne asada crispy taco. The super burrito was huge and very tasty. The crispy taco was alright - it had a lot of tasty carne asada, though it also had a ton of lettuce. Still, not a bad item. How i remember it being compared to the SF location, their sauce selection is limited to two choices - green and red. Super burrito for $7 though. You can't beat that price and portion size. My opinion: one of the better places in the Senter/Monterey area.
We come from Sparks NV for this taqueria! We're always welcomed with a smile, we can have a Modelo or other imported beers or Jaritos while we wait for our food. The menu is quite diverse & always fresh & delicious! This place definitely puts love y sabor in all of their dishes!
You definitely get your money's worth when ordering here. Food is made fresh while you wait
Taqueria El Farolito is a must-visit for authentic, flavorful Mexican food. The menudo is outstanding—rich, hearty, and full of flavor. The beef intestine taco is a real highlight, superbly cooked and bursting with taste. The food here is top-notch and well worth the trip. While the dining environment is pretty basic and not much to write home about, the quality of the food more than makes up for it.
This place has some very good authentic Mexican food. There's so many different variety of plates to choose from, My personal favorites are Super Nachos (asada) and the Alambre plate (Chicken&Asada) are both delicious and come with a big portion served. Not to mention the prices are unbelievable cheap for the amount of food they serve 👌 The Strawberry (Agua Fresca) is a must get!
Food is delicious. Portion is generous. Price is under $10 for most items. 10 out of 10.
Trust me...This is one of the best taquerias in San Jose. Quick service. Friendly staff. Good size portions. Fresh ingredients. Made to order. Best value. And most important...Delicious!!!
Huge servings and great tasting foods at a reasonable price
Yummy food, reasonable price with good service ❤️🥰
Trying for my first time and I'm happy. About $14 for my meat plate that I asked for no veggies on and extra meat. Good size for a good price!
Very friendly staff, GOOD MEXICAN FOOD. Reasonable prices..

Super nachos very generous portions
The food was delicious and the portions were just right. The service was attentive and friendly.
This place is highly underrated. The food is amazing and if you come at any meal time. The place is packed with people enjoying meals. I have no pictures because the food it doesn't last long enough, but there is enough food for 2 meals. The portions are large.
I was wondering why every student k ran into at the high school told me to try this place. Amazing burritos at unbelievable prices, quick service. Every neighborhood needs a restaurant like this
I’ve always come here since I was a kid. Service has gotten better, but it’s still rough for other people. I always recommend this location
Was looking for a quick bite after a hockey game on the way home and El Farolito met all the requirements and exceeded my expectations. We ordered 3 super burritos and 6 tacos and all were made to order and very tasty. I’m used to San Diego style Mexican food and this was on par of what I’m used to. Will be back again on my next visit to town!

Good quality generous portions very inexpensive. I've had the camarones Al mojo de ajo and a la diabla several times. Large prawns on garlic or in a spicy sauce. Delicious hard to finish the whole plate and only $10.95?!! No debit card machine cash only at the moment.
Great portion sizes for the price. Plenty of meat on their many different plates. Service was a bit slow, but they only had one guy in the kitchen.
Im sure some of you reading are like me in that you like the original El Farolito in SF but live in the south bay and want to know if this franchise holds up. In short its not as good but not as disappointing as it could be. You can tell theyre going off similar recipes but because this is a lower traffic location things have a texture like things have been sitting heating for awhile and the ingredients dont seem as fresh. It is nice that this location is like a dollar cheaper than the original, they take cards and theres no crowd. And I would still say its still a solid burrito overall even if its not as good as the original.
I ventured to this southern outpost of the Taqueria El Farolito chain to try a burrito and I was very satisfied with my no grills experience. As I pulled into the parking lot of the small strip mall in which this taqueria stands, my immediate thought was "California should be Mexico", as for all intents and purposes I was existing a demonstratively Latino space, Chicano, by majority, but with Catrachos and Pinoleros too, and a southeast Asian nail salon thrown in for fun. The restaurant is without frills, its menu is quite diverse though and offered en inglés y español. It was staffed by a dutifully working skeleton crew; a woman managed the orders and a tio with a big bigote was cooking. Most of the clientele were cholos except for an older Asian couple. I doubt they recognized as a fellow Latino given my gringo accent or maybe they did, but I ordered a burrito de pollo and waited by the door. The orders were being churned out quickly but I heard the cook say he was going to start the burrito "para el pobristo allá" within a relatively short time after my order was placed. The burrito itself, which was a burrito regular was actually huge and incredibly filling. The ingredients were all well done, well proportioned and distributed. I quite enjoyed it and inhaled it within minutes. If I'm ever in the Bay area again, I would gladly return to this or one of the other branches of this humble but highly effective taqueria chain.
Good size portions for a good price. Staff is nice and always seems to be some people here. Enjoyed the food enough to warrant future visits. Super burrito is a good size unlike some other places.
Really decent food that is super cheap. I live the burritos and their tacos (obviously.) The Al Pastor is great, and so are the carnitas. Usually pretty fast service as well.
Low price. Decent veggie burrito. Asked for mild but they made it hot. Still I could eat half of it. Overall good
Great Mexican food for a low price. Tacos were particularly good.

I had an amazing experience at Taqueria El Farolito! The food here is authentic, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying; from the generous burritos to the fresh tacos, every bite was delicious and made with care. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the portions were more than generous for the price. I especially loved how full and flavorful everything was, perfect for a quick lunch or a hearty dinner. The staff were friendly and the service was quick, which made the whole visit even better. If you’re craving real Mexican flavors in San Jose, this spot is a must-visit! 🌮🌯🇲🇽
The asada burrito was pretty good. They have the best horchata hands down, taste fresh made from scratch, Nd not too sweet. They need to improve on their choice of salsas, All they have is red and green, they taste a little bland. Overall pretty good place, come try the horchata, you'll thank me later.

I've been taking my Family here for quite a few years now and have always enjoyed the food but recently i went there and ordered 3 asada tacos and a can of coke a $11 purchase. I give the old mean looking lady a hundred and she gets my change and counts it back in spanish (i don't speak spanish) so i thank her and move to wait for my food all the while counting my money. Well, after i count my money, i see she shorted me $20 so after the only person besides me ordered his food i go back to the line to tell her she shorted me but she just denies it and rambles something off in spanish so i ask the young man who had just ordered if he spoke spanish and he said yea so he interprets for me and tells me that she was saying that i ordered all kinds of other food that i didn't ( mind you she never gave me a receipt or even asked if i wanted one) what she did give me was a number.. well when she shows the young man the order of food i didn't order, the number didn't match the number i had and she snatches the number from my hand and says i have the wrong number.. The young guy gets his food and as he's leaving he says yea bro they're trying to "get you" and apologized to me. I was gonna call the cops so the lady says here, opens the cash register and gives me back $20 (which is the change i should have got back with my food) so i ask for my food and she says no i gave you back $20.. i get mad and say here (and hand her the money) and say just give me back my hundred! But she wouldn't. I have too much respect for elder women and women in general but she straight up stoled my money and i never got food. I gave 3 stars because of this incident otherwise i would have gave 5. I don't ever wanna see that thief again so you lost a long time customer who ate there at least twice a week for my family of 7.
The Local Bay Area Legend: Taqueria El Farolito... I didn't know we had an El Farolito in San Jose! Pros: Glad i don't need to head North to eat at this Local Legend... Cons: There is no tables side service... There is hardly any service at all, actually. This location ehos a hole in the wall vibe: The tables are dirty, you have to clean them yourselves on top of not enough seating. The venue is not very inviting or all that clean in general. The parking lot is small and shares spaces with surrounding businesses. These ratings are way too generous on Google #LocalLegend: ~ Super Shrimp & Meat Burrito - 3.5/5 While the Burrito was very good, I thought they forgot to put meat in it... so essentially it was just a Shrimp Burrito. I'm certain I didn't get any "meat" in it. At least it was tasty. ~ Super Quesadilla - 4/5 This was just a good solid Quesadilla. No complaints. I'll probably stop by and get food to go from now on if I'm ever carving El Farolito...
Food was really good and tasty. Place was clean and tables were separated comfortably. Prices were fair. We will go back.

I was here about a year ago. The food was good and so was the service. But today the service and the food was horrible. We had ask for two tacos al pastor plate. Which is supposed to be fried beans and rice next to the tacos in their usual plate. We got whole beans and rice in a disposable plate and the two tacos in a red plastic plate. We had to ask for refried beans and this is what we got. Had to ask for napkins there were none. The tv's were on and suddenly a scratched cd would play loudly. Just awful
The beans were burnt the rice ok but the enchiladas were cold even after coming out of the microwave. The person at the counter didn't seem like a people person. The place was unkempt. I will not go back.
The inside was clean but the food was just ok. This location diminishes the brand the others have set. I gave it a try but will stick to the San Francisco locations for an always great food experience!
The best thing about this place is it makes me miss LA old prices for Mexican food. Cheap. But, I was disappointed with the dried up meat in my flautas and tacos. They seems days old so after one bite I threw it away. The taco wasn’t as bad but it wasn’t on par with other taquerias. Chips were not good and so blah. But the worst thing about this place is the 3rd world neighborhood it’s located in. Homelessness and human urine smell will kill your appetite. I couldn’t leave there fast enough. Nothing worthy to take photos of. Staff were nice though.
I’ve been eating at this taqueria for several years now. I decided to post a review because of the closing times listed at their entrance door. During the pandemic they list that they close on the weekdays at 7 pm, and on Fridays and the weekends at 8 pm. That’s not exactly how it is, though. In my extensive experience with them they close much much earlier than their listed times. For example, if they say they close at 7 pm, try to be there an hour or two earlier. Because they close early and do not allow customers to come in, even if the sign says otherwise. Be warned, they close real early! If you want to eat there before closing time, arrive there much much earlier, or you’ll be massively disappointed.
The Food is Good, but, I think that Cookers Should protect more them Self's, by wearing Gloves, Mask and Had, Other Think, Is that they should charged the same Amount, For each Item, today, I bought Alambre, $9.50 or $ 10,00 is Okay, but Last week, I wen. And got the Same Alambre alpastor. $ 15:00 for the Same Food, when the menu Says $ 9:50, and plus, Shouldn't be Cleaning they Face, when Cooking, please.... Thank you.
We ordered a birria and menudo to eat here. As soon as I honestly smelled the birria, I wanted to throw up every were. It had an awful smell and taste. We got the menudo, I just put it in a cup to go, and I put it in the garbage alone with the birria. Wrost place ever.
The food at El Farolito is great and is very close to our office. I have been buying burritos for a long time now and always received great attention. However today I went to buy six burritos and wanted to get some green salsa. Normally I would get the small little containers, however since it was so many burritos and ask for a cup and offered to pay for it. I was being charged $3.99 for the cup, just the cup. Later I talked to the owner and she had me waiting for more than 10 minutes. Unfortunately I had to come back to the office, without the salsa. I felt really bad after so many years I ask for cup for the salsas and I was told NO! As a client that just does not feel good. I am so sad.
Dirty place as soon as you go in all the way to the door thrash everywhere. Food was disgusting. It was a waste of 30 something dollars. Don’t recommend at all
This was very bad , Farolito on mission st in SF (original location) is one of the best in the entire California .. but this location is nothing like it , the carnitas came out as stiff as a pork chop and it had like a bird smell and weird taste ewww never again bro
