If you are coming to Mexico City, you must try these beautiful old Hacienda restaurant. I have been coming here for the last 40 years and they have been keeping the outstanding quality of the food, Service and the atmosphere is just spectacular. I definitely suggest you make a reservation. I definitely suggest you to try the following dishes that you do not get outside Mexico, Setas al ajillo (wild mushrooms), Abulon al Chipotle (abalone with chipotle and lime), tortilla soup pepper steak!

Walking from Coyoacán to San Ángel was an incredible experience in itself, but upon arriving at this historic former monastery, we were completely captivated by its beauty. The elegant atmosphere, enhanced by live mariachi music at sunset, creates a truly magical setting. The service was impeccable, and the cuisine was exceptional, making for an unforgettable dining experience. For anyone visiting Mexico City and looking to explore a charming, picturesque part of the city, San Ángel Inn is an absolute must.

Stunning. Pop in for a Margarita (probably the best service of Margarita you will have in all your days) and a cake in the stunning courtyard if you're in the area. The Torta de elotes is light and delicious. The venue is incredibly beautiful and if you are in town to see some of the museums or to go to the local shops it's a terrific stop to recharge.

It is the place you bring your family to celebrate a milestone or an out-of-town business associate. Gorgeous and regal, a callback to a gadget-free fine dining experience.

Simply a fantastic place, nothing else to add. Recommend to ask for a seat at the terrace where you can enjoy the garden view. This place is a Mexico city classic and definitely a must if you are around the San Angel area. It is a relatively pricey place but worth the price tag.

El sazón es bueno, pero es servicio aunque amable es deficiente. Tardaron mucho en traer una sopa, y a penas estaba empezando a comerla cuando me traen el plato fuerte. Música y videos agradables, pero es muy ruidoso el restaurante.

Una pequeña cantina en San Angel justa para el precopeo, la carta de botanas es corta pero con buen sabor, para pasar un grato momento con familia y amigos, la atención es buena.

Un restaurante típico y viejo desde 1930. Comida mexicana con carta en peces y mariscos. Buen sabor.

Bien, los precios son un poco elevados en comparación a otros lugares de mariscos. La atención es buena.

Asistí a un evento del día de la amistad y pagamos un monto fijo por comida y las bebidas a parte. No me dejaron llevarme mi guisado porque solo lo podía consumir en el lugar, aclaro no era buffette, eso me pareció fuera de lugar, se los comentamos pero no les importo.

An old hacienda in the heart of San Ángel, one of Mexico citys best kept neighborhoods, on the pricey side with smallish portions , you really come here for the atmosphere and the drinks , averagely priced , several large gardens, inside patios and an old timey atmosphere make this a great place to have a romantic dinner or a small chit chat with friends the food was alright, nothing extraordinary , the service top notch for sure , about 1.5k per person is normal here , but sometimes worth it

The place is magnificent. It’s one of the few restaurants in Mexico City that’s located inside a hacienda. The service is polite and correct, waiters are always friendly and attentive and what I enjoy is that they do not seem worried about selling the most expensive item on the menu. The food is good but it could be of higher quality for the prices that they charge. I had sopa azteca which was amazing and a chile en nogada which was good but a bit cold. What’s absolutely great it’s their desserts. I’d only wish their dessert trolley was back. The place is worth it for the vibes and the experience.

Stopped in for a few drinks and snacks after visiting the studios of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo which are only a few hundred feet away. Beautiful open courtyard and comfortable seating around the edges. The drinks and food were fine, go for the atmosphere.

Beautiful atmosphere and great food! Really a unique experience with a center garden area that is great to take in before and after your meal. The table side Cesar salad is next level.

My friend had been to San Ángel Inn 40 years prior and raved about her memories of the beautiful setting and amazing food. Today's San Ángel delivered on both of those. Unfortunately, we had a significant issue with the service - to be clear NOT with the wait staff but the matr'd and supervisor. Though we had interior courtyard reservations (which you MUST experience), we were told that there was a mistake and that there were no tables available. The courtyard was nearly empty (when we left there were still open tables) and we were offered a table in the corner and in the smoking section (without being told of the latter). We were reseated twice, but once these matters were resolved, we found the food and a service to be wonderful. Bottom Line: I recommend highly, but check your seating and self-advocate.

Dining at San Ángel Inn in Mexico City was a delightful experience. Located in the historic San Ángel neighborhood, the restaurant's lush gardens creates a charming ambiance. Aclaro, fuimos al anexo que afuera dice tortas San Ángel, pero que no aparece en Google, pero pertenece a La Camelia. La botana que ofrecen es sumamente improvisada, las tortas las elabora el mesero, las calienta en un microondas que tiene junto a la barra, en cuanto a alimentos: tienen un nivel muy básico, el lugar es más bien para beber alcohol en una cantina clásica y tener claro que si tienes hambre solo te servirán botanas preparadas por el mesero.

Come here for the beautiful hacienda and gardens and great service. But not for the food! I’m told the cuisine at the San Ángel Inn used to be superb. Sadly it isn’t anymore. Our meals were a huge disappointment. But the atmosphere is great.

Location is incredible. Haven’t been here in 15-20 years. The Chiles en Nogada were terrible. The Nogada extremely cold and yogurt-tasty. Duck tacos were delicious. Waiter was not helpful nor timely

Muy del pasado en comida y su sabor. En servicio excelente y la situación envidiable. Una salsa casera roja picosísima, me encantó. Salsas de botella malas y pocas.

Ojo... La calificación es para el restaurante grande; NO PARA LA CANTINA PEQUEÑA DE AL LADO QUE LA LLAMAN IGUAL O SE CONFUNDE EN EL NOMBRE... Aguas con la cuenta... Revisen bien... No había casi nada en el menú, todo muy tardado, mala atención

Pedi una tampiqueña, el tamaño era de risa, demasiado caro para el gramaje, además claramente dice que cierran 7 pm y desde 6:30 ya te estaban corriendo, lo único que salva un poco la experiencia es el servicio de meseros. 2/10. No recomiendo, no volvería.

Mi experiencia en este lugar fue absolutamente terrible. El dueño fue increíblemente prepotente y grosero, lo que arruinó completamente nuestra noche. No solo gritó a su personal, sino que también nos hizo sentir como si estuviéramos interrumpiendo algo importante. La comida y las bebidas fueron un desastre, pero eso fue solo el comienzo. El verdadero problema fue la falta de respeto y la mala actitud del dueño. Es increíble que alguien pueda ser tan descortés con sus clientes. No recomiendo este lugar a nadie que valore la buena atención al cliente y un ambiente agradable. El dueño necesita tomar un curso de relaciones humanas y aprender a tratar a los demás con respeto.

Foreigners are not welcome! Had my worst experience in over three years living and dining in Mexico. The food was okay but overpriced. The service however was terrible. We had to ask to see a menu. We also had to ask to see a wine list. When the waiter brought the wine I thought maybe he was high. He put the wine glass down hard and quickly poured a couple drops for me to taste. It was insufficient to smell. When I approved he quickly poured some more and turned to leave but I called him back. I wanted to see the bottle which he never showed me!!! My partner had ordered a birthday cake for me. They forgot. They finally brought it after we were finished everything including coffee. Then they couldn’t get the mariachi band to play the birthday song. All of this was prearranged by my partner. The attendants in the baño wouldn’t respond to my buenas trades greetings nor give me a towel…both times I went. They served the Mexicans though. It was raining arriving and leaving. The valets did not have umbrellas nor did they open our door. It was very clear that these waiters did not want to serve us. They gave good service to the other guests around us. However because I was a foreigner they were either uncomfortable or didn’t want to serve us. Terrible, terrible service!
