This place captures the essence of West Texas/panhandle in a nutshell. No nonsense waitress, affordable beers, and food. The steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly to order.

Our family ordered a variety of dinners- ribeye, filet, and a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked per our orders. The service was a bit slower than normal this evening. However, I chalk that up to them being shorthanded. Their team was friendly, working hard, as attentive as possible, and there’s a posted sign that they’re looking for servers, full or part time. This is a GREAT local restaurant that I highly recommend. Some of the best steaks in town and a laid back, casual, hole-in-the-wall kind of place.

They serve the best steak in Amarillo. This is a perfect country western dive. I absolutely love the atmosphere and the food. The steaks have a perfect smoke flavor. They have live music once in a while and have a pool table. I frequent this place as often as I can.

This place should be a local landmark. It is a great local success story. It is a small restaurant with limited seating so get there early. It has a small bar, pool table, and a juke box. I have eaten there on several occasions over a thirty year period. The service is great, the food served hot, and the steak awesome. The steaks are priced at market. The steaks are huge and cut from choice beef. They are flamed grilled. YUM! Priced with the premier steakhouses. But let me tell you, they are the premier steakhouse in the area. They have other menu items but, if your looking for a great steak this is the place. Bring your appetite. They serve up to a 24 ounce ribeye. My date had the 8 ounce fillet. Both served with baked potato or fries and salad.

We went here after a day filled with site seeing and hiking at the Palo State Park. The service was wonderful, the environment was country and peaceful, and the food was AMAZING! My husband got a 24 OZ steak and it was so tender cooked to perfection and the flavor was amazing. Myself and my oldest got burgers and let me tell you hands down the best burger ive ever tasted. The only thing I think could be better is that the kids chicken basket should come with 2 strips not one....But I would definitely return here if I ever come back to Amarillo again! And this restraunt is a must have if you are visiting this area! Thank you to the owners, cooks and servers that took care of me and my family!

We ate here as per our B&B's suggestion and it was perfect! We were tired from our drive from Taos, NM and wanting a hardy meal. Now, most places hear "rare" and will likely serve you a med-med rare steak. Lone Star nailed it! Their steaks are TRULY grilled, as in, taken outside and introduced to searing heat. Quality meat and perfectly seasoned. Husband loved the homemade croutons that came with the salad. Our waitress was wonderful and gave us great tips for what was going on in the area during our stay. Please skip the chain restaurants and treat yourself to fantastic meal when you are in Amarillo!

WOW, By far there are numerous 5 star restaurants that cannot hold a flame to the LONE STAR GRILLS Ribeye steak. I asked and know that all their steaks are Texas raised and are Choice Cut, then mesquite grilled. Basic meat, potato and salad, but the flavor of everything is amazing. It blows every person's mind, I have brought here. The look on people's faces when they take their first bit is totally worth buying them their dinner!! Forget going to the Big Texan in town, their steaks aren't even Standard grade and taste like it. The big Texan also puts un-needed MSG in their salad Dressing and does not have a single ounce of butter in their whole kitchen. (I asked, only margarine and oleo. Even in their fudge). Everytime I travel through Texas, I have to stop at the Lone Star Bat & Grill. Even time my arrival just for dinner time. And the fact that they have a special corner honoring US Marines, hit me right in the sift spot. Just wish they were open on Mondays.

If you like the patties cooked well done, this is the place. The staff is friendly. Food was served pretty quick. Will be going back to try the steaks. 10/10 recommend.

This is one of the most Texas places in Texas! The food was on point!! The scene and pool table were just what we needed after a long day hiking Palo Duro. And the service was exactly the Texas hospitality you would hope for find in this gem! Would have come back a second night if they were open on Sunday!

Steak was as good as Peter Lugers. One of the best I’ve ever had. The owners are wonderful. 10/10 Was like the bar in the movie “Roadhouse” without the violence. Awesome spot

Down home country restaurant featuring some of the best beef steaks to be found in the Texas Panhandle region hands down. Great service and no long waits while this is still a well known secret. Indoor and outdoor dining areas are available.

Service was pretty good, but for their only being two tables with people eating it could have been better. The food was great as usual! We had steaks and burgers. All were delicious and served right off the grill!

Food is good, don't know why I was charged $6 to split a plate with my girlfriend and she cut $6 worth of fat off her steak and was throwd out before I got bill. But I will be a repeat customer. 4☆☆☆☆

The service is great . The food is home cooking I had a burger and it was delicious as it was flame grilled the place over all reminded me of places my Mom & Dad would take me to eat as a child for me it is a nostalgic place. I would most definitely recommend this place to family & friends.

Other than the elderly couple shamelessly staring at us in disgust which I should’ve addressed but it was our first time to go there and I didn’t want to cause a problem, they seemed like regulars (I should have just purchased their dinner) and what felt like a forced feeling to wait on us from the waitress, it was ok. Even at that we still tipped accordingly, even though that’s not what she deserved. As a family we didn’t let none of that bother us. The person who I think was the owner made us feel welcome so that was nice. Food was good.

Ordered the 12 Oz ribye with fries. The salad that comes with the meal comes from a premix with some croutons. Kinda basic, nothing special. The fries are home cut which is nice, they had a good flavor and were delicious with ketchup. On to the main event, the steak. It was cook to medium rare as requested, and was quite tasty. You could really taste the wood smoke in the meat. However, the steak lacked any real flavor. Luckily, the meat and smoke alone carried the steak and I didn't have to break out the steak sauce, but some seasoning wouldn't make this steak worse. Overall 3/5. Fantastic wait staff and fun atmosphere, just wish the steak was a little better. If I can make a better steak at home, I'm not jumping at the chance to return. I may try some other offerings next time we visit.

I grew up in Amarillo and moved away 25 years ago. I frequented this place and it was the great. The ribeyes were awesome. I brought my family in tonight and could not believe how Thanksp the food was. The steaks were just bad. Nothing like remembered. Not good. Won’t be back.

Believe me when I say this two stars is generous. The burger although large, was overpriced and under seasoned and by under seasoned I mean no seasoning...It was the most bland burger I believe I’ve ever eaten, and then when I receive the ticket for the meal, the options for tipping were 20% 30% and 40% are you kidding me! She would have been doing good to get 15% given the rude manner in which she dealt with me when all I carried in there was a smile and money... Believe me, there are FAR better burgers right down the street...don’t waste your time here unless you’re desperate for a taste of the local red-neckery..but hey to each his own... Bon appétit!

Just visited for 1st time in a while. Steaks are much smaller than before. Food not as flavorable but loved the fries. Used to be best steaks in town, not sure we can say that now.

Steaks were not cooked the way they were ordered and the prime rib special was cold and tasted horrible. Unfortunately it used to be one of the best places to eat and now I will not be going there again.

We love this place but they were packed and we waited 20 min for a seat, waitress told us we would wait outside and she would come get us. Instead others went in and she sat them. She realized what she done after she saw us standing in disbelief,Tables needed to be cleaned for us to sit. She started cleaning and then started taking. Orders and then bringing out food and then checking on other tables sooooo we stood there still the other lady never paid attention to us…. So we left. Very disappointed. We are loyal customers for years and didn’t expect to get this kind of service.
