Don Burritos

There are 3 objective qualities to a good burrito: the tortilla, the filling, and the salsa. I had the Chicken burrito. It was very good. The tortilla felt handmade, fluffy, and a little thicker than most. (9/10) The chicken was seasoned well and had the signature char from similar grilled chicken establishments. Do not be surprised to find a bone or gristle. This place cooks whole chickens and cuts them up to prepare burritos. They do not have specific cuts of meat. Filling included Mexican rice and whole slow cooked beans which were also delicious by themselves. (9/10) There is a salsa bar with various garnishes as well. I tried the creamy green which was not very spicy and I could tell had some avocado blended in; it was good (8/10). I also tried a dark red that was spicier but not unbearable; it was my favorite (9.5/10). Overall delicious burrito but I’ll be ordering the whole chicken next time I go back.

Get the Pollo Asado because you'll love it. It's the best chicken in town. Everything my friend and I tried was delicious. I didn't even wait to take pictures of the meal. Update: Adding pictures from my second visit 😃😉

Awesome food and a must try place! Everything was delicious, chicken was perfectly slow roasted, but the highlight for me was the Mexican Hot Dog 🌭 definitely coming back for more!

One of the best places in Amarillo and Texas to eat Pollo asado. This is with mustard and Sinaloa style so it has quite a different flavor than other places. The chicken is always excellent and the sauces and sides are the best too. A bit disappointed they are not serving them in the hot plate as they used to before to keep the chicken even warmer. Overall great place to eat Pollo asado.

Awesome grilled chicken cooked outside on a pit. Delicious mexican style rice and charro beans, only place in Amarillo TX I've found charro beans. Food is just simply Awesome. They only take cash though.

I’m very disappointed in the professionalism of this place. I’ve been coming here for years with my family and never had any issues until now. We were ordering, and I noticed that the server didn’t write down the carne asada plate that my mom had asked in the beginning since she wrote the second item my mom asked for, so I ordered the carne asada plate again. However, I didn’t realize she wrote it down three times at the end instead of the two plates I had originally told her. These plates cost around $16 each, and I noticed the total seemed a little off, but my mom paid anyway. We asked for the receipt less than five minutes after paying, because we hadn’t received it when we paid. That’s when I noticed we were charged for three carne asada plates instead of two. We immediately told the cashier and asked if we could cancel one, as we didn’t order three. She became rude, asking us to decide quickly so she could check with the manager. We agreed to cancel the extra plate. When she came back, she was very negative, offering us only the option to either keep the food or exchange it for something else. We explained that we couldn’t keep the food since we wouldn’t be going home right away, but she didn’t care and continued to offer the same options. I explained to her that I had ordered two plates, and she insisted that I had ordered three and that I should have paid attention to what she wrote in her notepad across the counter. How does that even make sense? She never apologized for a mistake that could’ve been avoided if she had simply read back the order, like every other restaurant we’ve been to. Instead, she blamed us, saying that we were wrong. The excuse they gave us for not refunding the money was that since we paid with a card, they couldn’t return it to the card. We asked for a cash refund, but they said no because we paid with a card. It doesn’t make sense, since they would still be receiving the money either way. Never going to this place again very rude.
